This is awesome, clap clap, clap-clap-clap! This is awesome, clap, clap clap-clap-clap. What a night. Bell to bell, bout to bout, the best thing going. Three title changes and the road to Wrestlecade has been laid out. The way you build to Wrestlecade never fails to impress. Lets see how long Blassie holds the gold especially with the Foreign Legion in his corner. Thanks for the comments Bookerbill. That MSG card was a lot of fun to put together and had some surprising results. I always enjoy planning out WrestleCade so thanks for the compliment.

CHIKARA - Carnival Of Sins - The ACE Arena - Union City, NJ (Card #569)
1) The Throwbacks defeated The Roughnecks: The crowd was split in their support of these two popular teams as The Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield & Sugar Dunkerton) took on The Roughnecks (Brodie Lee & Grizzly Redwood) to open up Carnival Of Sins. The imposing Lee, standing 6'7" and weighing 265-pounds, was a target of The Throwbacks in this one as they attempted to wear him down and focus on the smaller Redwood. Dunkerton hit Air Dunkerton, a top rope senton, and Hatfield delivered the Underhand Pitch on Lee for big near falls. Redwood looked good during his time in catching both opponents with a top rope flying bodypress for near falls. He and Lee also combined on a double-team neckbreaker on Dunkerton before Lee leveled him with a half nelson superplex. The Throwbacks rallied back, though, and in the end connected with the Grandslam Dunk on Lee with Dunkerton covering him for the pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as The Throwbacks picked up another important win. Lee, on the other hand, took a brow beating from Redwood before the two headed to the back.
2) Chuck Taylor defeated Gregory Iron by Count Out: The crowd was not split in their support here as the "Handicapped Hero" Gregory Iron was the overwhelming favorite as he squared off against "Chucky T" Chuck Taylor, one-third of F.I.S.T. alongside Icarus and Johnny Gargano. Taylor came to ringside alone but it wouldn't be long before he was joined by some unwelcome company. The latter stages of the match saw Taylor gain the upper hand connecting with Sole Food and a turnbuckle power bomb for a near fall. The action then moved to the floor where Icarus and Gargano showed up to cause trouble. Icarus wound up distracting the referee as Taylor and Gargano laid out Iron with a barrage of F.I.S.T. kicks. Iron was unable to recover in time and wound up being counted out giving Taylor a controversial win. F.I.S.T. celebrated like they had just won the Campeonatos de Parejas but Iron had a message post-match challenging them to a trios match on the next card. Icarus accepted and said that Iron would be "lucky" to find anyone that wanted to team with him.
3) The Colony defeated The Batiri: CHIKARA is known for its great trios action and that was on full display here as The Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant, & Green Ant) took on The Batiri (Obariyon, Kodama, & Kobald). This match was filled with tons of near falls and key pin saves resulting in some dramatic moments. The Colony shined early with Soldier Ant hitting the TKO and all three Ants combining on the Super Mega Antapult for big near falls. The Batiri rallied back getting the heat on Green Ant for an extended stretch that saw Obariyon score a near fall off a wrist-clutch exploder driver. Green Ant was finally able to tag out while being trapped in an underhook octopus stretch by Obariyon and that led to both Fire Ant and Soldier Ant turning the tide. Soldier Ant hit the saluting headbutt on Kobald for a near fall and Fire Ant, after taking a beating from The Batiri, hit a nice counter sunset flip nearly pinning Kodama. It was Kodama who ended up on the losing side as Fire Ant came in off a clothesline by Green Ant and caught the "Hellion of the Dark Army" with the Beach Break to score the pin.
4) No DQ Match: Claudio Castagnoli defeated Larry Sweeney: This intense grudge match saw "Sweet n' Sour" Larry Sweeney take on BDK member Claudio Castagnoli under No Disqualification rules. Sweeney recently returned from an injury inflicted on him by the BDK, in an attack led by faction leader Ares, and was hoping to send a message by taking down Castagnoli. The former eighteen-time LOW Tex-Arkana Television champion dominated the early action and, after delivering a piledriver, he caught Castagnoli with the 12 Large Elbow Drop for a big near fall. Castagnoli struck back after running Sweeney into the ring post and blasted him with both the diving and Roaring European Uppercut. Sweeney was in a bad way after that and Castagnoli executed the Ricola Bomb for a big near fall. Both men kicked out of each other's respective finishers throwing the crowd into a frenzy. Sweeney mounted a nice comeback but that was cut off when Castagnoli caught him with a low blow followed up by a second Ricola Bomb to score the pin. It was a quick and decisive finish that left Sweeney in a bad way while Castagnoli and the BDK picked up a notable victory.
5) Rubber Match: Mark & Jay Briscoe defeated Scott Parker & Shane Matthews: This "Rubber Match" between 3.0 (Scott "Jagged" Parker & "Big Magic" Shane Matthews) and Mark & Jay Briscoe got off to a wild start as "Dem Boys" attempted to jump 3.0 at ringside. That action backfired as 3.0 turned the tables and it was Parker executing a Flash Roll-Up on Mark for a quick near fall. Mark struck back with the Cut-Throat Driver for his own near fall and the bout was off to a wild start. With each team having won a match against the other it was clear that this deciding, or "Rubber Match", was of great importance in terms of gaining a championship opportunity. The action was fast and furious throughout and a key moment saw Matthews trap Jay in the "Boston Crab!" with Mark making the save with a Cut-Throat Driver. The Briscoe's followed up hitting a face first double suplex on Matthews for a near fall. 3.0 battled back with Parker catching Jay with the Flash Roll-Up for a near fall and some nice double-team moves including the Samoan Drop Neckbreaker and flap jack & power bomb combo. Things were looking to go the way of 3.0 when suddenly it was a double-team by the Briscoe's that won it as Jay pinned Matthews after a Double Flapjack. The crowd jeered the decision and became even angrier when Mark grabbed the mic post-match calling everyone in CHIKARA "losers" and said that they would add the Campeonatos de Parejas to their collection which also includes the MCW Southern tag team titles. He also said that they would "Do it with Honor" and show CHIKARA what "real pro wrestling is!"
6) Sara Del Ray defeated Daizee Haze: A highly anticipated grudge match between former tag team partners and BDK members Daizee Haze and Sara Del Ray was over in a flash. Del Ray, who remains in the BDK, was arguing with Tim Donst during the ring introductions being made by Jakob Hammermeier. Haze took advantage and caught Del Ray by surprise with a bridging German Suplex and then clamped on a sleeper hold. Donst, however, distracted Haze from the ring apron causing her to release the hold. A dazed Del Ray then caught Haze with a vicious release German Suplex and covered her for the pin. A jubilant Donst instructed Del Ray to continue with a post-match attack but she refused and left the ring. Donst, who was put in charge of Del Ray by faction leader Ares, called for her to return or suffer the consequences. Del Ray refused and kept walking but bumped into the massive Tursas. The Finnish giant picked up Del Ray and tossed her back into the ring to an awaiting Donst. He grabbed the mic and said that Del Ray would "be punished" and would have to face Tursas in a one-on-one match and as for Haze, who had rolled out of the ring, he challenged her to a "Loser Leaves CHIKARA Match" on the next card.
7) Sly Drury, Paralyze, & The Betrayer defeated Hallowicked, Frightmare, & Jigsaw: The Order of the Neo Solar Temple led by Ultramantis Black has clearly become the most dominant faction in CHIKARA and that was on display here. Sly Drury & Paralyze, the reigning Campeonatos de Parejas, and Young Lions Cup champion The Betrayer took on the popular trio of Hallowicked, Frightmare, and Jigsaw in this intense semi-final match. The Betrayer, standing at 6'11" and weighing 389-pounds, looked like an unstoppable force whenever he was in during this one. He used his massive size advantage to dominate all three opponents hitting Brute Force and the Torture Drop among other moves. It was clear that the popular CHIKARA trio were going to have to change up their game plan if they were going to win this one. Frightmare, the former Young Lions Cup champion, electrified the crowd when he got the chance to go one-on-one with The Betrayer. Unfortunately that was the only highlight for his team as it was The Order coming away with a big win. The finish saw The Betrayer use his trademark rulebreaking tactics using the ring apron to suffocate Jigsaw before Hanging him over the ropes with his Chain. Those actions led to The Betrayer scoring a controversial pin on Jigsaw as Drury and Paralyze fended off Hallowicked and Frightmare. It was a dark defeat for CHIKARA but not all was lost as the Osirian Portal (Amasis & Ophidian) made their way to ringside along with the Director of Fun The Dark Menace. As Ultramantis Black and The Order stared them down from the ring, The Dark Menace ruled that Drury and Paralyze would make their first title defense against the Portal drawing a huge cheer from the crowd.
8) PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match: Eddie Kingston defeated Mike Quackenbush to qualify: The "War King" Eddie Kingston, currently on a dominant run as the LOW Tex-Arkana Television champion, took on CHIKARA founder Mike Quackenbush in an important main event to determine who would be the first man to qualify for the fourth annual PWI Invitational Cup Tournament. PWI Editor Bill Apter was on hand to make the ring introductions and wished both men luck as the winner would have the opportunity to possibly head to WrestleCade VI and represent CHIKARA on the grandest stage in LOW. Quackenbush got off to an explosive start taking the battle to Kingston who has the best won-loss record in CHIKARA. He hit both the Quackendriver II and Quackendriver III for big near falls. Kingston was reeling and could barely get any offense in when Quackenbush executed chain lightning followed up by a Jig n' Tonic. Things were looking bleak for Kingston when he bailed out of the ring but Quackenbush made the unwise decision to follow. It was the opening that Kingston needed as he caught Quackenbush with a bodyslam on the floor and roughed him up at ringside. Back on the inside there was a flurry of action before Kingston caught Quackenbush with the Backfist to the Future out of nowhere and scored the pin. It was a huge victory for the "War King" and a disappointing loss for Quackenbush but the CHIKARA founder accepted it with dignity shaking hands with Kingston and wishing him well in the upcoming tournament.
(Notes: CHIKARA Director of Fun The Dark Menace is known for being a great visionary and he has already put together a solid lineup for the next card, subtitled Cat Scratch Fever in Taylor, MI (Card #579), headlined by the Osirian Portal (Amasis & Ophidian) challenging Sly Drury & Paralyze for the Campeonatos de Parejas. The Portal had a controversial loss to former champions Mike Quackenbush & Jigsaw resulting in their being granted this shot which will be the first title defense for the team representing The Order of the Neo Solar Temple. In addition to that, Ultramantis Black will face El Generico in a PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match, Daizee Haze faces Tim Donst in a Loser Leaves CHIKARA Match, Sara Del Ray faces Tursas in a battle of BDK members, and the "Handicapped Hero" Gregory Iron will have two Mystery Partners to help him face F.I.S.T. (Icarus, Chuck Taylor, & Johnny Gargano) in trios action...Mike Quackenbush suffered a tough loss to reigning LOW Tex-Arkana Television champion the "War King" Eddie Kingston in the main event. The win by Kingston made him the first man to qualify for a spot in the fourth annual PWI Invitational Cup Tournament being held during WrestleCade VI weekend. Quackenbush spoke with PWI Editor Bill Apter following the match and said that Kingston earned his win and that he wished him well representing CHIKARA in the tournament. It was a class gesture by Quackenbush who has endured some stinging defeats recently most notably when he and Jigsaw lost the Campeonatos de Parejas to Sly Drury & Paralyze...Mark & Jay Briscoe won their three match series over 3.0 (Scott Parker & Shane Matthews) by a 2-1 decision but made some unsettling post-match remarks having to do with "Honor" and collecting tag team championships. It should be interesting to see what their next move is...The popular "Sweet n' Sour" Larry Sweeney lost to Claudio Castagnoli in their No Disqualification match but will likely be back for more shots against the BDK. Castagnoli showed why he is a feared opponent and perhaps the strongest member of the BDK in that one. Faction leader Ares was very happy speaking to PWI Editor Bill Apter backstage about Castagnoli’s win but then said that the turmoil currently going on in the BDK involving Tim Donst and Sara Del Ray will not be tolerated. He said that Del Ray being "punished" by Donst by having to face Tursas should "teach her a lesson". He also said that Donst will have to further "prove himself" by eliminating Daizee Haze from CHIKARA.)

LOW Memphis Championship Wrestling - Mid-South Coliseum - Memphis, TN (Card #570)
1) D-Lo Brown defeated Mr. X: The popular D-Lo Brown, one-half of an exciting tag team combination with Kenny King, saw singles action here taking on the masked Mr. X of LOW All-Star Wrestling. Mr. X, who has yet to win a match in LOW, tried to be aggressive early but it backfired. Brown, after shaking off a knee lift, delivered the Shakey, Shakey leg drop. He then laid out the masked man with his trademark Lo Down, a version of the Frog Splash, to score the pin.
2) Penny Banner, Nora Greenwald, & Trinity Denucci defeated MsChif, Christina Von Eerie, & Angel Orsini: Six-woman tag team action was featured next as Penny Banner, Nora Greenwald, & Trinity Denucci took on the dangerous trio of MsChif, Christina Von Eerie, & Angel Orsini. With Sherri Martel recently regaining the LOW Women's title, MsChif, herself a former champion, has been named the number one contender for the championship and was hoping to further establish herself here. It didn't work out that way as after a great back and forth battle it was Denucci scoring the surprise fall over the former champion. The finish came when MsChif, after surviving a flapjack by Greenwald, was caught by surprise with a Crucifix to Sunset Flip by Denucci resulting in the pin. MsChif went crazy post-match and had to be restrained by her partners as Denucci celebrated the win with Banner and Greenwald.
3) Ricky Landell vs. Harker Dirge was a Draw: The popular Ricky Landell took on "Bloody" Harker Dirge in this bout made possible by the MCW Open Door Policy. Dirge, billed as being from The House of Able, has made a name for himself on the Midwest independent circuit and was looking to start of strong in MCW. Landell has proven to be a tough opponent for anyone in MCW and he showed why here. Dirge struck early with a jumping knee drop and then hit his finisher, the Dirt Nap, but Landell kicked out. Landell then mounted an impressive offensive scoring near falls with a missile dropkick and Top Rope Fist Drop. The two battled out to the floor, narrowly avoiding a double disqualification, before Dirge hit the Dirt Nap again for another big near fall. Landell kept battling back in this one and with Dirge unable to put him away the bout ended in a time limit draw. MCW Commissioner Lance Russell, watching from ringside, said he was impressed by Dirge and offered him a rematch with Landell on the next MCW card.
4) Genghis Khan defeated Kenny King by Count Out: The fact is that you can never underestimate any opponent and Kenny King found that out here as he took on Genghis Khan formerly of the anti-CHIKARA faction in MCW. Khan, accompanied by the box-headed Dr. Cube, survived an early offensive by King striking him down with the deadly throat chop and applying the Khan Nerve Pinch. King battled back connecting with a spinebuster and was attempting to set up for his finisher, the Coronation. Khan bailed out of the ring drawing King to the outside and that is where this one ended. After getting the upper hand, Khan rolled back to the inside distracting the referee as Cube sent his "minions" after King. They assaulted King and laid him out resulting in Khan winning via count out. Khan, Cube, and the "minions" attempted a post-match attack but D-Lo Brown ran in to save his partner. An irate Brown then grabbed the mic and demanded a tag team match with Khan and Cube which was granted by MCW Commissioner Lance Russell.
5) Cowboy Bob Orton defeated Yukon Eric: This was an intense battle as the popular Yukon Eric, one-half of the MCW Southern tag team champions along with The French Angel, took on another veteran in the form of Cowboy Bob Orton. It was all Orton in the early going and he connected with his patented finisher, the Superplex, but somehow Eric kicked out just before the three count. Orton argued with the referee and then followed up with a piledriver and middle rope splash for more near falls. Eric battled back using the headlock and windup punch multiple times along with the running tackle for a near fall. Orton struck back with a counter tackle off the ropes and applied a stepover toehold for a submission chance. Eric got to the ropes for a break but Orton took this one moments later when he caught Eric with an Atomic Kneedrop to score the pin.
6) Chris Hero defeated The French Angel: The obnoxious Chris Hero took on the other half of the MCW Southern tag team champions The French Angel in this singles match. Hero was psyched out early playing off the grotesque nature of his opponent and The Angel took advantage of it blasting him with the menacing palm strikes for a near fall. Hero regrouped and got near falls on The Angel with a moonsault and a big boot. He also applied the cravate before The Angel took the fight to the floor. The two men battled out there several times even trading runs into the ring post but no disqualification decision was rendered. At one point The Angel went for a shoulder breaker (ch) but Hero countered out hitting a nice back suplex. Hero then went up top and came off with a nice Flying Bodypress to score the pin. It was an impressive win for Hero and one that will no doubt move him higher up the rankings in MCW.
7) PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match: Gran Akuma defeated Tyler Black: With Eddie Kingston having already qualified, former MCW Southern Heavyweight champion Gran Akuma and Tyler Black, a former two-time MCW Southern tag team champion, were hoping to join him there. Black had recently returned to singles competition after his tag team partner, Jimmy Jacobs, left MCW to join the SWA. He knew that a win here would be huge but Akuma has proven to be one of the toughest opponents in MCW. Akuma dominated the early action and scored near falls on Black with a Falcon Arrow and a blistering series of kicks. Black made a nice comeback delivering a superkick and executing God's Last Gift for a near fall. After a battle on the outside, Black got the upper hand and sent Akuma into the corner. He followed in with a charge but Akuma countered with an elbow to the head. That jolted Black and left him vulnerable allowing Akuma to catch him with his finisher, the Yoshi Tonic, for the pin. It was a solid victory for Akuma who now joins Kingston in the opening round of the prestigious tournament taking place on WrestleCade VI weekend.
8) No DQ - Loser of the Fall Leaves MCW: Austin Aries, Brent Albright, & Kevin Steen defeated Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee, & B.G. James: In a shocking main event packed with stipulations it was the First Family team of "A Double" Austin Aries, "The Shooter" Brent Albright, & "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen, accompanied by manager Jimmy Hart, beating the popular team of Jerry "The King" Lawler, "Superstar" Bill Dundee, & B.G. James. The main stipulations were that the loser of the fall would have to leave MCW and Lawler, if his team lost, would leave as well while Hart would have to serve as Lawler's valet if the First Family lost the match. The no disqualification match got off to a quick start with Aries catching Lawler with the Heat-Seeking Missile before "The King" battled back with a barrage of punches. Lawler then scored a near fall on Aries with a fistdrop and that led to a nice string of attacks on "A Double" by all three opponents. Albright was able to turn things around for his team with some stiff offense including blasting Lawler with the 6-1-Knee. Steen then scored a near fall on "The King" with a diving bodypress off the top rope. James rallied his side back catching Aries with the James Gang Pounce for a near fall. Things looked to be over when Lawler caught Steen with his trademark Piledriver but Hart interfered dropping the megaphone into the ring. Steen was able to grab it and hit Lawler with the object turning the tide of the match. A wild finishing sequence saw James in as the legal man but Steen cut off his offensive and caught him with the Package Piledriver to score the pin. The crowd fell into a dead silence at the realization of what had just happened and that both James and Lawler would now have to leave MCW. Hart frantically jumped up and down at ringside laughing as the First Family scored a huge win. Arena security and MCW officials had to escort Hart and his men to the back while Dundee consoled his teammates in the ring. A distraught Lawler bailed out followed by James shaking hands with ringsiders while Dundee stood on the inside wondering what would be next for him without his closest allies around.
(Notes: A new era has fallen over MCW as both Jerry "The King" Lawler and B.G. James have been forced to leave Memphis following the main event where they, along with Bill Dundee, lost to First Family members Austin Aries, Brent Albright, and Kevin Steen with Loser of the Fall Leaves MCW stipulations. It was James that dropped the fall but a pre-match agreement made between Lawler and Jimmy Hart meant that "The King" would have to leave as well since his team lost. Both Lawler and James avoided local reporters post-match but Hart was thrilled to speak with them. Hart called it the "greatest victory of my career" and said that with both men gone the First Family will truly dominate Memphis. Dundee, meanwhile, issued a statement that the "war is not over" and that he will regroup and continue to go against Hart and his First Family. MCW Commissioner Lance Russell felt extremely disappointed that things had come to this but said that something had to be done to settle the feud between Lawler and Hart. He noted that while something was settled it cost MCW two great stars and that is something that will be hard to recover from. He said that his friendship with Lawler goes back many years and that his contributions to Memphis and his support of MCW will always be remembered...Gran Akuma is the second man to gain entry into the PWI Invitational Cup Tournament as a result of his win over Tyler Black. Akuma, a former MCW Southern Heavyweight champion, holds one of the best won-loss records in MCW so it will be interesting to see if he can earn a spot in the finals at WrestleCade VI...An interesting newcomer in "Bloody" Harker Dirge made his debut via the MCW Open Door Policy and was impressive in his match with Ricky Landell. Dirge, who has had some success on the Midwest independent circuit, has not been offered an MCW contract but has been invited back for a return match with Landell...MCW returns to Memphis, TN (Card #577), with Landell vs. Dirge plus Chris Hero vs. Austin Aries in a PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match, and defenses of both the MCW Southern Heavyweight and tag team titles.)

LOW All-Star Wrestling - (Episode 16) - Irish McNeil Boys Club - Shreveport, LA (Card #571)
The broadcast opened with exclusive footage of the closing moments of the LOW World Heavyweight title match at New York's Madison Square Garden (Card #568) where the "King of Men" Fred Blassie won the championship from Mil Mascaras. Announcer Lance Russell noted the controversial aftermath where Mascaras was injured by Blassie and his new associates, Nikolai Volkoff and the Iron Sheik. He said that Blassie is doing double duty as a manager and a wrestler but that he had better focus on holding the world heavyweight championship. A brief statement played from LOW Commissioner Charlie Cox who said that Blassie will remain as champion despite the post-match assault but said that the road to WrestleCade VI will not be easy for him. With that Russell announced that the first title challenger to Blassie, none other than "Ravishing" Rick Rude, would be featured in a ringside interview with PWI Editor Bill Apter later on in the broadcast. Russell then made mention of the recent developments in MCW, where he is the Commissioner, noting that both Jerry "The King" Lawler and B.G. James are out of the territory after being on the losing end of a match with Jimmy Hart's First Family. He said that it is a terrible loss for MCW but as the Commissioner it is his job to bring in new talent and he would do his best to make that happen.
LR: "Whoa-kay folks, we have a huge broadcast today including a PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match, Eddie Kingston defending the LOW Tex-Arkana Television title against Playboy Buddy Rose, Lou Thesz in action, and of course the "Strangler's Challenge" so let's throw it on up to ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta."
1) $10,000 Strangler's Challenge: Evan Lewis defeated Les Thatcher by Count Out: Before Gary Michael Cappetta could begin his formal ring introductions, Evan "Strangler" Lewis grabbed the mic and said that he "proved" that Ed Lewis was an imposter and that no one else was man enough to beat him and take the money. He demanded "suitable competition" and with that out came respected LOW All-Star Wrestling veteran Les Thatcher. Lewis scoffed at the appearance of Thatcher but accepted the challenge. Thatcher looked great early including hitting a top rope fist drop and a running knee drop. Lewis took over on offense after countering a front facelock and delivering a brutal headbutt. He wound up tossing Thatcher to the outside and roughed him up on the floor before applying his feared Stranglehold. Thatcher struggled to escape but Lewis held it on until dropping him and rolling back inside to get the win by count out. Thatcher needed to be helped up by LOW officials at ringside as Lewis grabbed the check and held it up to the camera daring anyone to beat him for the money.
2) Matt & Nick Jackson defeated Naptown Dragons: Exciting tag team action was featured next as the Young Bucks, Matt & Nick Jackson, took on the Naptown Dragons ("Die Hard" Dustin Lee & Scotty Vortekz). These two teams are no strangers to each other and this match was filled with quick tags and double-team attacks. There were also a number of near falls including the Dragons hitting both the Double Dragon and Kiss of the Dragon. The Bucks utilized their speed and quick tags to take control and at one point Nick hit a nice corkscrew pescado on Vortekz on the outside. The finish came out of nowhere when Matt ducked a clothesline by Lee and hit the Flipping Sitout Facebuster to score the pin. Russell noted post-match that both teams are on his radar for possible upcoming appearances in MCW.
Interview - Ultramantis Black: PWI Editor Bill Apter was joined at ringside by CHIKARA star Ultramantis Black who was flanked by The Order of the Neo Solar Temple in reigning Campeonatos de Parejas Sly Drury & Paralyze along with Young Lions Cup champion The Betrayer. Apter congratulated Ultramantis Black and his men on their recent accomplishments before being interrupted by the masked "insectoid". Ultramantis said that congratulations were not necessary for Apter is a "mere mortal" standing in the presence of greatness from the "present and the future". He said that with the power of the Eye of Tyr in his possession he has assembled his futuristic warriors and has taken over CHIKARA, stealing "it's heart and soul" from Mike Quackenbush. Apter noted that what The Order of the Neo Solar Temple has accomplished in short order is very impressive but again Ultramantis cut him off. He said that "William Apter" is a respected journalist from a distant past but that this is "the future" and his opinions "no longer matter". Paralyze then stepped toward Apter who beat a hasty retreat back to the locker room area. Ultramantis laughed off that action and said that now that The Order is in "complete control" of CHIKARA there will be no stopping his quest for domination. He then said that El Generico would learn the hard truth that Ultramantis Black is the future of all of LOW and that would come when he defeats him in their upcoming PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match. He then displayed the Eye of Tyr and said that no one could stop his plans for "universal domination" and that The Order would continue to hold all of the championships in CHIKARA.
3) Lou Thesz defeated Johnny Rodz: LOW All-Star Wrestling viewers were treated to an appearance by SWA star Lou Thesz who took on "The Unpredictable" Johnny Rodz in this encounter. Rodz made a good showing here, including surviving both a Thesz Press and hammerlock submission attempt, but came up short in the end. Thesz used an airplane spin before locking on the STF to stretch Rodz and that set up the Greco-Roman Backdrop resulting in the pin.
*Coming back from the commercial break, Lance Russell was startled by the appearance of Virgil who has been away from LOW for some time. Virgil walked past Russell and pulled a curtain off a nearby table with a poster board on it stating "Wrestling Superstar Virgil". He sat behind the table and began talking to nearby fans trying to get them to purchase his autograph. Russell walked over and demanded to know what was going on and Virgil handed him an autographed picture before asking for twenty dollars. Russell laughed it off and handed the picture to a fan who was then hassled by Virgil for the money. LOW officials then arrived and asked Virgil to leave but he refused and said that he had a contract with LOW All-Star Wrestling and would be making his debut next week. Russell then threw it back to ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta to continue with the action...
4) LOW Tex-Arkana Television title: Eddie Kingston© defeated Playboy Buddy Rose to retain the title: The "War King" Eddie Kingston, the first man to qualify for the fourth annual PWI Invitational Cup Tournament, continued his impressive reign as LOW Tex-Arkana Television champion in turning back a strong challenge from Sharpe Sports Agency, Inc. member Playboy Buddy Rose. Accompanied by "Pretty Boy" Larry Sharpe, Rose got of to a strong start and hit a gut wrench backbreaker for an early near fall. Kingston battled back hitting a half nelson suplex and the Backfist to the Future with Sharpe breaking up the pin both times. Kingston nearly got disqualified after taking the battle to the floor and running Rose into the ring post. Rose struck back and executed his finisher, the Bombs Away, for a big near fall. Both Sharpe and Rose loudly protested the decision to the referee as Kingston started a strong comeback. Kingston wound up nailing Rose with another half nelson suplex followed up by the Sliding D to score the pin and retain the title.
5) John & Chris Tolos defeated S.D. Jones & Paul Ellering: The Hamilton Wrecking Crew of John & Chris Tolos put on a brutal display of tag team wrestling here as they defeated the popular team of S.D. Jones & Paul Ellering. The Tolos Brothers kept the heat on Jones throughout the early going including John using the corkscrew for a submission chance. Ellering saved Jones on a near fall leading to a hot tag and the former manager exploded into action. He used a legdrop and flying kneedrop on John before Jones tagged in getting a near fall with a suplex. The Wrecking Crew came back strong, though, and it was John putting away Jones covering him for the pin after a Thumb to the Throat.
Interview - Rick Rude: PWI Editor Bill Apter, shaken from his earlier encounter with Ultramantis Black, welcomed "Ravishing" Rick Rude to ringside for an exclusive interview. Apter noted that Rude has been under a freelance contract since leaving the NWC following WrestleCade V but has recently established himself as a top contender for the LOW World Heavyweight title. Rude interrupted and said that he has always been a top contender for the belt but has been overlooked until taking matters into his own hands. As a former two-time LOW International Heavyweight champion, Rude feels that he has been "cheated" out of his rightful world title opportunities but commended former champion Mil Mascaras for giving him a recent chance at the belt. That match ended in a double disqualification (Card #564 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) and left Rude in search of a rematch. After Fred Blassie won the belt from Mascaras, Rude put in another bid for a shot and was surprised when LOW Commissioner Charlie Cox contacted him and named him the first challenger to the "King of Men". Rude said that while he respects Blassie his only goal is to become the LOW World Heavyweight champion. Apter said that Rude poses a dangerous threat to the title and that he is looking forward to the championship match coming up on an SWA card in Oklahoma City, OK (Card #574). He asked Rude for some final words and he responded by saying that Blassie will be in for a "Rude Awakening" and that LOW will have a new world heavyweight champion that night in Oklahoma City.
6) PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match: Ox Baker defeated Jerry Lynn: Feared Heart Punch specialist Ox Baker became the latest man to qualify for the tournament by beating former LOW Junior Heavyweight champion Jerry Lynn in a thrilling back and forth match. Unfortunately for Lynn he not only lost the match but will miss some ring time as well. Baker dominated most of the early going and hit the Heart Punch for a near fall pulling Lynn up by the hair at the count of two. Baker then argued with some ringsiders giving Lynn a chance to mount an attack and he executed a German Suplex and sunset flip power bomb for near falls. Lynn had Baker reeling until the finish which saw Baker strike with the deciding blow, a second Heart Punch, to score the pin. Baker enjoyed a big victory and his smile grew even wider as the referee called for the paramedics to help carry Lynn out of the ring.
(Notes: An action packed edition of LOW All-Star Wrestling ended in pain and suffering for NWC star Jerry Lynn who suffered trauma to his chest courtesy of the Heart Punch by Ox Baker. Lynn is the latest in a long line of wrestlers and even a former LOW Commissioner, a referee, and a member of the ring crew to be injured by Baker's feared finisher. PWI Editor Bill Apter spoke with the doctor who said that Lynn would be out of action indefinitely. Baker, who qualified for the fourth annual PWI Invitational Cup Tournament with his win over Lynn, also recently sidelined Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka with a Heart Punch attack. He refused to speak with Apter but loudly bellowed that "all will shake in fear at the thought of taking my Heart Punch!" and vowed that he would win the tournament...Eddie Kingston fended off a strong challenge from Playboy Buddy Rose in retaining the LOW Tex-Arkana Television title. "Pretty Boy" Larry Sharpe, who has Rose under contract to Sharpe Sports Agency, Inc., called Kingston "lucky" and said that his days as champion are numbered...The newest member of the LOW All-Star Wrestling roster, "Wrestling Superstar" Virgil, made a strange debut trying to peddle autographed pictures of himself to ringsiders. Virgil will make his television debut on the next LOW All-Star Wrestling broadcast (Card #581). Also on that card will be Don Muraco vs. Bob Roop in a PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match plus another $10,000 Strangler's Challenge with Evan "Strangler" Lewis.)

1) $10,000 Strangler's Challenge: Evan Lewis defeated Les Thatcher by Count Out: Before Gary Michael Cappetta could begin his formal ring introductions, Evan "Strangler" Lewis grabbed the mic and said that he "proved" that Ed Lewis was an imposter... Blasphemy! Evan Lewis is a solid card (27,27), but Ed Strangler Lewis (with three finisher designations, anchored by a lockdown defense) is an absolute beast. I'm tempted to commission Werner to do alternate artwork for him, maybe donate it toward a Promoter PDF. A talent of his level deserves something special. Fun stuff with Virgil and the surprise team of SD & Ellering. Always a treat to read about Lou Thesz in action. Back in the day, LT was known as a universally respected competitor, who was a bit rough on the local talent. I suspect after their recent match, Mr. Rodz would concur.

I'd be up for a special card for Lewis. He's one of my favorites.
It is a fun card....and S.D. and Ellering is fun and I like seeing the Tex-Arkana TV title in action.

Thanks for the comments LWPD and Troy, I may have to give S.D. and Ellering some more tag bouts in the future.
LOW Global Wrestling Association - The SaddleDome - Calgary, Alberta, Canada (Card #572)
1) The Mountie defeated Danny Hodge: The Mountie, coming out of the province of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, had some harsh words for the Calgary faithful as he grabbed the mic away from the ring announcer. He also threatened him with the Shock Stick before his opponent, former two-time LOW Junior Heavyweight champion Danny Hodge, intervened. Hodge took control of the action from the opening bell and punished The Mountie with a variety of submission holds. He also scored two big near falls with a top rope flying bodypress and the Oklahoma Side Roll. The Mountie staged an impressive counter attack twice using a Boston Crab for a submission chance and then dropping Hodge with a piledriver. He then stung Hodge with the Shock Stick out of view of the referee and covered him for a big near fall. Hodge barely escaped there but was unable to recover from the illegal attack and moments later The Mountie executed the Short Choke Slam to score the pin. The crowd loudly jeered the decision but that meant little to The Mountie who picked up a huge opening match win.
2) Mildred Burke defeated Alere Little Feather: The undefeated Mildred Burke out of Coffeyville, KS, took on the equally popular Alere Little Feather out of the Shinnecock, Indian Reservation, in this second bout. A hand shake started things off and then Burke went to work displaying the skill that has brought her so much success. Little Feather is a capable opponent and showed some fire kicking out of a few near falls, including off of Burke's Sunset Flip, but seemed largely overmatched. Burke took this one via submission with the Alligator Clutch after having used the backbreaker to soften up Little Feather.
3) Ivan Koloff defeated Ilio DiPaolo: The "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff, a member of the feared Axis of Violence, took on popular Italian star Ilio DiPaolo in what turned out to be a very quick match. The two got into a shoving match during the introductions and came to blows. The referee turned to call for the bell and Koloff whipped DiPaolo into the turnbuckle where his chain was hanging. DiPaolo stumbled out of the corner in pain with Koloff executing a slingshot before locking on the Russian Bearhug. DiPaolo tried to fight off the pin but Koloff cinched the hold on dropping to the mat to apply more pressure. DiPaolo wound up conceding the bout giving a controversial victory to Koloff in less than a minute.
4) Steve Williams & Terry Gordy defeated Killer Bees: The Axis of Violence picked up another win as Steve "DR. Death" Williams & Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy defeated the Killer Bees (Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell) in a great bout. Early action saw Gordy pick up a near fall on Blair with a Power Bomb after hitting a counter elbow out of the corner. He and Williams then took Blair down with a double football tackle followed by a lariat from "Doc" for another near fall. The Bees bounced back with some nice tandem offense and caught Williams with a double elbow smash for a near fall. After another offensive by the AOV team it was the Bees resorting to Masked Confusion and catching Gordy with the Bee Sting for a near fall. Blair later caught Gordy with an airplane spin and locked on a Sleeper Hold for a submission chance. Williams got the AOV back into it blasting Blair with a lariat and then executing a Backdrop Driver. Gordy followed locking on the Oriental Spike with Brunzell making a last second save. Moments later it was Blair being tossed out to the floor and roughed up before "Dr. Death" finished him off with the Oklahoma Stampede to score the pin.
5) George Steele defeated Finlay: The unorthodox George "The Animal" Steele took on the "Belfast Bruiser" Finlay in what promised to be a wild match. It sure started off that way as Finlay jumped Steele at ringside only to have that backfire. Steele dominated early and caught Finlay with a running knee for a near fall. He also countered a corner whip and ripped apart the turnbuckle pad rubbing the stuffing in Finlay's eyes. He then applied the Flying Hammerlock for a submission chance with Finlay barely escaping that predicament. Finlay battled back and struck Steele with the Shillelagh for a big near fall. He then went on a nice offensive executing the backbreaker, sitdown splash, and the Celtic Knot. The two men brawled out to the floor several times narrowly avoiding a disqualification. Finlay appeared to have things going his way and pulled off a nice move coming off the top rope with a flying bodypress for a near fall. He followed up missing an elbowdrop and Steele struck with a Foreign Object, appearing to be a piece of steel wrapped up in tape, attack to the throat resulting in the pin.
6) Killer Kowalski & Kurrgan defeated Road Warriors by DQ: Six-time LOW World tag team champions the Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) made their official debut as members of the Strong Style Union taking on the Axis of Violence team of Killer Kowalski & Kurrgan. Both teams got into a shoving match at the bell with Kowalski getting the upper hand on Hawk delivering a jumping elbow smash and a kneedrop off the top rope. That set the stage for a wild brawl as both teams looked to gain the upper hand in a bitter power struggle. Late in the bout Hawk blasted Kowalski with a running clothesline and then combined with Animal on a double clothesline. Kowalski bailed out of the ring and Animal followed continuing a wild battle while on the inside it was the 7'0" and 350-pound Kurrgan getting the better of Hawk. Not long after that the referee called for the bell ruling Kowalski and Kurrgan the winners by disqualification. That came as a result of Animal blasting Kowalski with a chair shot and then slamming the timekeeper's table on top of him. LOW officials were needed to restore order but the message sent by the Road Warriors was loud and clear in that they are ready for battle as members of the SSU.
7) PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match: Angelo Mosca defeated Johnny Saint by Count Out: A spot in the prestigious tournament was at stake here as Angelo "King Kong" Mosca took on the "Man of a Thousand Holds" Johnny Saint. Both men are popular with the fans in the GWA but Mosca, a native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, was a solid favorite over his opponent hailing from Great Britain. Saint gave away a lot of size and this one so he relied on his quickness and technical skills in an attempt to defeat Mosca. He caught him with the double arm stretch & cradle and also locked on an impressive elevated surfboard at one point. Mosca used his size and power advantage to turn the tide in the latter stages and wound up taking the match to the outside. That put Saint at a disadvantage as Mosca delivered a powerful bodyslam on the concrete floor. He narrowly avoided a disqualification as he grabbed Saint and ran him back first several times into the ring post. Saint struggled to recover but was unable to and Mosca had rolled back inside to score a count out victory. It was a disappointing loss for Saint who had hoped to qualify for the tournament taking place on WrestleCade VI weekend.
8) LOW World tag team titles: Fabulous Kangaroos© defeated Hell's Angels to retain the titles: The Fabulous Kangaroos (Al Costello & Roy Heffernan, accompanied by manager Wild Red Berry) defended the LOW World tag team titles against the impressive team of the Hell's Angels (Exotic Adrian Street & Nigel McGuinness, accompanied by valet Miss Linda) in the main event. Costello and Street put on a wrestling clinic in the early going exchanging holds and counter holds keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats. A controversial moment saw Berry interfere distracting Street beginning an extended offensive stretch for the popular Australian team. Miss Linda protested to the referee but he waved off the actions of Berry. Things got worse for the Hell's Angels when a double-team attack failed causing Street and McGuinness to collide with each other. The Kangaroos took full advantage of that hitting the body block catapult followed by a Kangaroo Kick by Heffernan. The challengers were in a bad way at that point and it was the Kangaroos connecting with their devastating finisher, the Boomerang, on McGuinness with Heffernan covering him for the pin.
(Notes: The Fabulous Kangaroos (Al Costello & Roy Heffernan) retained the LOW World tag team titles beating the Hell's Angels (Exotic Adrian Street & Nigel McGuinness) in the main event. Manager Wild Red Berry was influential in the win by his men much to the chagrin of the Angels and their oft interfering valet Miss Linda. Berry spoke to local reporters backstage and said that it was a long climb to the top for him and his men and he will do what it takes to make sure that the belts remain with the Fabulous Kangaroos. It was a bold statement by Berry who made no bones about the fact that he will assist his team when the need arises. An irate Street, having his hair combed by Miss Linda, met with the same group of reporters and said that the Kangaroos "cheated" their way to a win and that the Hell's Angels will be back for another shot at the gold...Angelo "King Kong" Mosca became the latest man to qualify for the PWI Invitational Cup Tournament being held WrestleCade VI weekend as he defeated Johnny Saint in a qualifying match. Mosca won it on a count out and now joins Eddie Kingston, Gran Akuma, and Ox Baker as the first four qualifying participants...The war between the Strong Style Union and the Axis of Violence reached a new level with the addition of the Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) to the SSU side. With the Final Battle looming in War Games at WrestleCade VI the battles on that road will only serve to get more intense. The next GWA card in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Card #576) will feature the Road Warriors teaming with fellow SSU member Harley Race against the dangerous AOV team of faction leader Ted Dibiase, Steve Williams, & Terry Gordy in what promises to be a real war. In addition, the card in Toronto will feature Sherri Martel defending the LOW Women's title against MsChif and Super Crazy vs. David Taylor in a PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match.)

Another solid night of action Crue.
Koloff and DiPaolo have had a couple of bloody battles in my MCW territory. I thought the match up would be a good way to build heat for Kolkoff taking a strong ethnic face but the matches have been a lot of fun to play and very closely contested. It has become a solid mid card feud that I can see concluding in a Russian Chain Match or perhaps an Italian Death Match.
Loved the Warriors v. K & K. More violence to come!

Thanks for the comments, Bookerbill. Koloff vs. DiPaolo certainly has potential but this particular bout ended in just two moves, the corner slingshot and bearhug, so it was a huge win for "Uncle Ivan". The SSU vs. AOV war is building to what I hope will be an epic climax in War Games at WrestleCade VI. Warriors vs. Kowalski & Kurrgan was a fun one to roll out.

LOW Northern Wrestling Corporation - Convention Hall - Atlantic City, NJ (Card #573)
1) Nikolai Volkoff & Iron Sheik defeated Chief Omega & George South: This was a brutal display put on by Nikolai Volkoff & Iron Sheik as they took the measure of the LOW All-Star Wrestling team of Chief Omega & George South. The crowd pelted the ringside area with garbage as Volkoff and Sheik, who were key factors in Fred Blassie winning the LOW World Heavyweight title from Mil Mascaras, arrived. Volkoff drew more of their ire as he sang the Russian national anthem. Once the action got underway it was literally all Volkoff and Sheik. The finish saw Volkoff nail Omega with a running stomp followed by the Backbreaker Drop to score the pin. He and the Sheik then tossed both Omega and South out of the ring and fended off more debris tossed by an angry crowd.
2) Henry Irslinger defeated Alofa: In contrast to the previous match, the crowd gave hometown hero Henry Irslinger a warm welcome as he squared off against Alofa, one-third of the Samoan Island Tribe. Irslinger, who is originally from Europe but migrated to New Jersey, found himself on the defensive early. The larger Alofa punished him with the clothesline, powerslam, and multiple falling headbutts to the midsection. Irslinger caught a break on a counter out of the corner and used an airplane spin and scissors hold to subdue Alofa. The action went back and forth building to the finish which saw Irslinger execute the Flying Headlock and cradle Alofa to score the pin.
3) LOW Women's tag team titles: Amber O'Neal & Krissy Vaine vs. Lacey & Rain© was a DDQ: The popular Team Blondage (Amber O'Neal & Krissy Vaine) came very close to becoming the new LOW Women's tag team champions as they took on defending champions the Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew (Lacey & Rain). It was the first title defense for Lacey & Rain since winning the belts from Jazz & April Hunter (Card #565 in North Attleboro, MA) and it came against their main rivals in LOW. Lacey and Rain had things working early looking good on offense before Team Blondage isolated Rain. The momentum shifted with O'Neal catching Rain with the Crotchrocket for a submission chance. They then combined on the Blonde Bomb, a double reverse STO, for a big near fall with Lacey making the save. The climax came with O'Neal coming off the top rope with a flying bodypress (c) on Rain with Lacey breaking up the pin. That set off a four-way brawl and the referee called for a double disqualification when he was unable to get things back in order. The decision allowed the Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew to retain the titles but Team Blondage sent a strong message in this bout that they are a team to be reckoned with.
4) Andre the Giant defeated Samu: The "Eighth Wonder of the World" Andre the Giant made a special appearance taking on the 6'4" and 285-pound Samu, one-third of the Samoan Island Tribe. Though normally considered a large man, Samu gave up a foot in height and nearly two hundred pounds in weight to the giant from Grenoble, France. Samu struck with a nail rake to the back as Andre was signing autographs for ringsiders and that proved to be a big mistake. Andre struck back quickly delivering a clothesline off the ropes and a sitdown splash. He followed with a strong assault that ended with him locking a Bearhug on Samu and shaking him back and forth resulting in a submission victory. Samu's tag team partner, Alofa, ran in post-match but that was a mistake as Andre rammed their heads together and sent both men over the top rope to the floor.
5) Sabu & Rob Van Dam defeated Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito: The first ever meeting between these two teams saw former LOW World tag team champions Sabu & Rob Van Dam, accompanied by manager Bill Alfonso, take on Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito who had manager Abdullah Farouk in their corner. It was the first match for Sabu and RVD since losing the belts to the Fabulous Kangaroos (Card #564 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) and Fuji and Saito were primed and ready for them. Early action saw the dangerous Japanese team strike for several near falls including Saito hitting the Saito Suplex on RVD and Fuji nailing Sabu with the Kamikaze Clothesline. Fuji also used salt in the eyes of RVD narrowly avoiding a disqualification. RVD struck back with his own controversial move, the Van Daminator, and then combined with Sabu on Rolling Thunder. Sabu followed with the spectacular Triple Jump Moonsault on Saito for a big near fall. The finish saw Alfonso thwart an attempted distraction of the referee by Farouk while RVD dove out of the ring at Fuji. Sabu, meanwhile, came off the top rope with a Flying Bodypress on Saito to score the pin. It was a hard fought victory for Sabu and RVD who hope to once again reign as the LOW World tag team champions.
6) Frank Gotch defeated Johnny Valentine by DQ: These two bitter rivals and former co-holders of the LOW World tag team titles (card #336-385) met up once again as Frank Gotch took on Johnny Valentine who was accompanied by his manager Captain Lou Albano. With Gotch headed to the 12-Man Gold Star Battle Royal and Valentine teaming regularly with his son, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, the two have been going in opposite directions after a bitter tag team war that saw Gotch teaming with Jim Londos against the father-and-son team. Valentine dominated most of the early action punishing Gotch with stiff chops and forearms before catching him with the Atomic Skullcrusher for a near fall. Gotch came back in explosive fashion delivering the Iowa Backdrop and executing a rolling kneebar. He then caught Valentine in the Gotch Toehold but Albano distracted the referee preventing a submission check. Moments later it was Gotch catching Valentine with a roll-up off a missed corner charge but Albano broke up the pin. Valentine battled back using a sleeper hold and abdominal stretch before Gotch trapped him in the crossface and arm bar. It looked as if Valentine might tap out but Albano entered the ring and kicked Gotch in the head resulting in the disqualification decision.
7) PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match: Pepper Gomez defeated Jim Londos: In what could be termed an "upset" it was former two-time LOW Junior Heavyweight champion Pepper Gomez beating former LOW World Heavyweight champion Jim Londos to qualify for the tournament. Both men shook hands at the bell with the crowd split in their support of the two popular stars. Early action saw them trade holds and counter holds looking to gain an advantage. Londos struck first using the grinding arm bar and crotch lift and slam to wear down Gomez. He then caught him with his finisher, the Airplane Spin, and went for the pin but Gomez kicked out just before the three count. Gomez came back with a nice attack of his own using the airplane spin and the Mexican Leap. Things got heated later in the bout when both men fought out to the floor and Londos sent Gomez hard into the ring post. Gomez struck back sending Londos into the ring post as well but the referee waived it off choosing not to call for a disqualification. Back inside the ring it was Gomez countering an attack by Londos and executing his trademark finisher, the Mexican Cradle, to score the pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as Gomez picked up a huge win and Londos, though dejected, showed great class in shaking hands again after the match.
8) LOW International Heavyweight title: The Sheik© defeated Diamond Dallas Page by DQ to retain the title: A very unpopular decision here as Jersey Shore native Diamond Dallas Page lost on a technicality to LOW International Heavyweight champion The Sheik in a highly anticipated main event. Very few have faced the adversity of DDP in LOW who has come so very close to tasting championship gold on a number of occasions only to come up short. He got off to an aggressive start here battering The Sheik as the champion’s manager, Abdullah Farouk, paced nervously at ringside. The Sheik resorted to stabbing DDP in the throat with a sharp pencil-like object in order to begin his first offensive of the match. DDP fought back, however, and caught The Sheik with the Diamond Dream, his variation of the DDT, in hopes of setting up for the Diamond Cutter. The Sheik used DDP's aggression against him, though, baiting him out of the ring to continue the battle. It was out on the floor where DDP lost his cool and ran The Sheik head first into the ring post several times followed up by hitting him with a chair. The referee showed some leniency but that went out the window when DDP struck the official trying to get at The Sheik. That resulted in a disqualification of the challenger and allowed The Sheik to once again retain the championship.
(Notes: The Jersey Shore crowd went home disappointed as area favorite Diamond Dallas Page failed in his bid to win the LOW International Heavyweight title from The Sheik. DDP has been looking to win championship gold for the first time in LOW and sadly came up short once again as he was disqualified in the midst of a wild brawl. The news wasn't all bad for DDP, however, as it was learned that he is among the top contenders being considered for a spot in the upcoming 12-Man Gold Star Battle Royal at MSG (Card #585) where the winner will get an LOW World Heavyweight title shot at WrestleCade VI. The Sheik is also in line for a spot in that match which currently involves Frank Gotch, Bobo Brazil, Antonino Rocca, and Mil Mascaras (pending injury recovery). Abdullah Farouk, manager of The Sheik, was ecstatic backstage saying that the "noble one" got in the head of DDP and that allowed him to remain champion. Farouk's other charges, Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito, weren't as fortunate as they earlier lost their bout against former LOW World tag team champions Sabu & Rob Van Dam...Pepper Gomez joined Eddie Kingston, Gran Akuma, Ox Baker, and Angelo Mosca as the fifth man to qualify for the PWI Invitational Cup Tournament. Gomez qualified by defeating former LOW World Heavyweight champion Jim Londos in a great semi-final bout using his trademark Mexican Cradle to score the pin. Gomez was ecstatic speaking with local reporters backstage and said that he will be training hard in hopes of reaching the finals at WrestleCade VI...Team Blondage (Amber O'Neal & Krissy Vaine) came close to winning the LOW Women's tag team titles from the Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew (Lacey & Rain) but ultimately the bout ended in a double disqualification. Lacey, speaking on behalf of her team, said that Team Blondage were "posers" and not worthy of a rematch but that will be up to LOW promoters...Next up for the NWC is a card in Hamburg, PA (Card #578), featuring Dick Hutton vs. Gorgeous George in a PWI Invitational Cup Tournament Qualifying Match plus Sabu & Rob Van Dam challenging the Fabulous Kangaroos in a rematch for the LOW World tag team titles.)
