It's now time for Thursday Night RAW!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) RAW Thursday January 15, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (First Third of show)
RAW started off with the following highlights from last weekend's New Year's Revolutions PPV presented by the RAW brand:
- Pepper Gomez defeating Gorgeous George to retain the Crusierweight Championship
- New Age Outlaws defeating the Killer Bees and Yukon Eric and Cousin Luke in an elimination tag match for the right to challenge for the MLW Tag Team Championship at the Royal Rumble
- Ida Mae Martinez defeating Ladies Champion Sherri Martel by DQ after Martel, apparently in trouble, rolled out of the ring to grab her title and use it to smash Martinez in the face
- Ed "Strangler" Lewis defeating the Missing Link
- MLW Tag Team Champions defeating Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake
- Bobo Brazil defeating The Sheik in a classic coffin match
- Rick Rude defeating Jim Londos in a ladder match to win the Intercontinental Championship
- The elimination chamber match main event with Bruiser Brody eliminating Mil Mascaras, Nick Bockwinkel, Don Muraco (who was later given a DIAMONDCUTTER by special guest referee Diamond Dallas Page), and Harley Race before losing to Jimmy Snuka who pinned Brody via a SUPERFLY LEAP from the top of one of the pods to win the vacant World Championship!
- In the Ring: new World Champion Jimmy Snuka is congratulated and introduced by MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino.
- Sammartino then calls out Bruiser Brody who arrives in the ring accompanied by his entrance music.
- Sammartino says that next week at the Royal Rumble Snuka"s first title defense will be against Brody- Snuka's friend and occasional tag team partner who was also the last man to be eliminated in the elimination chamber last weekend!
- Sammartino then announces that tonight's RAW main event will be Snuka and Brody teaming together against the Heenan Family's Nick Bockwinkel and Harley Race!
Match #1: Gorgeous George defeated Cruiserweight Champion Pepper Gomez in a non-title match.
- George, the former Cruiserweight Champion who challenged Gomez and lost last weekend at the Royal Rumble, won this non-title match via his SPINNING TOE HOLD.
- Afterward, George got on the microphone and demanded, since he defeated Gomez tonight, another title match against Gomez next weekend at the Royal Rumble.
- Sammartino came out and told George he would be one of 3 challengers against Gomez next weekend because, since the Royal Rumble is a multi-brand PPV, Gomez will be defending his title in a fatal four-way elimination match against the last cruiserweight challenger from each of the 3 brands: George (from RAW), Tiger Mask (from Smackdown), and Chris Candido (from EAWA)!
Match #2: Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake defeated the Killer Bees
- Looking to regroup from their loss last weekend at New Years Revolution to the MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos, Valentine and Beefcake won this great competitive tag match match when Valentine forced Jim Brunzell to tap out to his FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK.
- Backstage: Don Muraco is talking to his manager Ladies Champion Sherri Martel when they're approached by Diamond Dallas Page who as the special guest referee gave Muraco a DIAMONDCUTTER in the elimination chamber match last weekend at New Years Revolution after Muraco complained about DDP's refereeing.
- Grinning, DDP informs Martel that, following last weekend's match where Martel retained her title by getting DQ seemingly out of desperation, Sammartino decided to make her defend her title once again tonight on RAW against Ida Mae Martinez- and that match is up next!
Match #3: Ladies Champion Sherri Martel (accompanied by Don Muraco) defeated Ida Mae Martinez (with Diamond Dallas Page in her corner).
- Martel won the match to retain her title via a clothesline after Muraco reached through the ropes to trip Martinez, although DDP retaliated for this by hitting Muraco outside of the ring with a discus clothesline as it looks like the tension between DDP and Muraco is continuing.
End of First Third. Second Third will be posted next and includes: an announcement about which RAW wrestlers will participate in next weekend's 30 man Royal Rumble match, a Royal Rumble qualifying match, Jim Londos vs Ox Baker, and the MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos vs the New Age Outlaws in a non-title match!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) RAW Thursday January 15, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (Second Third of show, First Third is posted above)
In the Ring: Ring Announcer Gary Michael Cappetta says the following RAW wrestlers have been awarded automatic spots in next weekend's 30 man Royal Rumble:
Nick Bockwinkel Harley Race Intercontinental Champion Rick Rude Ox Baker Jim Londos Mil Mascaras Diamond Dallas Page Don Muraco Ed "Strangler" Lewis
Match #4: Missing Link defeated Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. in a Royal Rumble Qualifying match
- The Missing Link became another participant in next weekend's Royal Rumble when he won this match via his BACKFLYING HEADBUTT
Match #5: Jim Londos defeated Ox Baker (managed by Bobby Heenan and accompanied by Intercontinental Champion Rick Rude)
- Before this match began, Rude, who last weekend won the Intercontinental Championship in a ladder match at New Years Revolution to end the impressive 9 1/2 month reign by Londos, announced that if Londos wanted a rematch for a chance to regain the Intercontinental Championship than Londos first needed to prove himself by beating people like Rude's fellow Heenan Family member Baker.
- To the astonishment of Baker, Rude, and Heenan, Londos easily won this match when Baker after only a few moves of offense threw Londos into the ropes and Londos rebounded with a small package for the 3 count to show that he indeed has a serious possibility of taking the Intercontinental Championship back from Rude.
Match #6: MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos (managed by Captain Kangaroo) defeated the New Age Outlaws in a non-title match.
One week before putting their tag team championship on the line against the New Age Outlaws at the Royal Rumble, the Fabulous Kangaroos looked impressive tonight by controlling most of the match and winning when Roy Heffernan pinned B.G. James following the BOOMERANG.
End of Second Third. Final Third will be posted next and includes Bobo Brazil vs The Sheik and tonight's main event of World Champion Jimmy Snuka and Bruiser Brody vs Nick Bockwinkel and Harley Race!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) RAW Thursday January 15, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (Final Third of show, First Third and Second Third are both posted above)
Match #7: Bobo Brazil defeated The Sheik (managed by Abdullah Farouk)
- 1 week after winning a classic brutal coffin match at New Years Revolution against The Sheik, Brazil won against his enemy once again tonight via a COCO BUTT.
- Afterward, Farouk got on the microphone and said the reason that neither Brazil or The Sheik was mentioned earlier tonight among the RAW participants at next week's Royal Rumble is because he's already arranged at the Royal Rumble to end this feud once and for all by having The Sheik take Brazil to Hell- in a Cell!
Royal Rumble Advertisement Major League Wrestling (MLW) Royal Rumble Sunday January 25, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV 1. Royal Ruble Match, Participants: Nick Bockwinkel, Harley Race, Intercontinental Champion Rick Rude, Ox Baker, Jim Londos, Mil Mascaras, Diamond Dallas Page, Don Muraco, Ed "Strangler" Lewis, the Missing Link, and 20 more participants TBA. 2. World Champion Jimmy Snuka vs Bruiser Brody 3. Bobo Brazil vs The Sheik (Hell in a Cell) 4. Match #8, the main event: World Champion Jimmy Snuka and Bruiser Brody defeated Nick Bockwinkel and Harley Race (managed by Bobby Heenan and accompanied by Heenan Family "problem solver" Ox Baker) by DQ.
- This match ended when Brody and Bockwinkel were the two legal men in the ring but the action between them went outside of the ring where the referee DQd Bockwinkel and Race for (along with Baker) triple teaming Brody.
- But afterward, Brody got up and all by himself fought off Bockwinkel, Race, and Baker before rolling back into the ring where he found himself face to face with his tag team partner but opponent next week in Jimmy Snuka.
- Will Snuka retain his newly-won World Championship next weekend at the Royal Rumble or will Brody win his first title in Major League Wrestling (MLW)?
- As Snuka and Brody stare at each other (but don't attack each other) in the center of the ring, tonight's show comes to an end.
See you tomorrow night for Friday Night Smackdown!

Glad to see I was right about Sheik/Bobo. The Rumble looks awesome as is, and I'm hoping Brody picks up the win, and obviously the title along with it.

It's now time for this week's episode of Friday Night Smackdown!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) Smackdown Friday January 16, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (First Half of the show)
In the Ring: The Four Horsemen (MLW Champion Buddy Rogers, Johnny Valentine, George Hackenschmidt, and Larry Zbyszko) with their manager Eddie Fyne.
- Rogers announces that after Armageddon, where he retained his MLW Championship against Antonio Inoki and where The Horsemen doubled their automatic title shots they won at Survivor Series from 2 to 4 as Valentine, Hackenschmidt, and Zbyszko defeated Frank Gotch and Rikidozan in a 3 on 2 handicap double or nothing match, the Four Horsemen are set to dominate Smackdown because soon the Horsemen will use their automatic title shots to also challenge for and win the United States Championship and the World Tag Team Championship!
- Hackenschmidt interrupts Rogers to say they could also challenge for Rogers' MLW Championship too if necessary which causes Rogers to glare at Hackenschmidt who is backed up a few feet by Valentine and Zbyszko as Fyne quietly talks to Hackenschmidt.
- Rogers goes on to say that The Horsemen's automatic title shots next week will increase from 4 to 5 when one of them wins the Royal Rumble as the Horsemen in Valentine, Hackenschmidt, and Zbyszko are going to make up 10% of the 30 participants in the Rumble!
- Rogers is then interrupted by MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino who comes out to announce that Rogers will be defending his MLW Championship at next weekend's Royal Rumble against the winner of a triple threat match tonight between Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Don Leo Jonathan, and Fritz Von Goering - the 3 winners of the non-title singles matches at Armageddon!
- Sammartino also confirms that Valentine, Hackenschmidt, and Zbyszko will be in the Rumble and announces that in tonight's main event the Four Horsemen will wrestle in an 8 man tag team match against 4 other Rumble participants: Frank Gotch, Rikidozan, Antonio Inoki, and Antonino Rocca!
Match #1: Killer Kowalski (accompanied by Steve "Dr. Death" Williams) defeated Dan "the Beast" Severn
- During this match, the TV announcers mentioned that Severn, Williams, and Kowalski will be among the 30 participants in next weekend's Royal Rumble.
- Severn, who lost the United States Championship to Williams at Armageddon, didn't have any better luck tonight against Williams' manger Kowalski who won via his KOWALSKI CLAW while getting away with putting his feet on the ropes for extra leverage.
Match #2: Tiger Mask defeated Koko B. Ware
- Set to be Smackdown's representative in the Cruiserweight Championship Fatal 4 Way elimination match at the Royal Rumble next weekend, Tiger Mask won tonight against fellow cruiserweight Ware via his TIGER SUPLEX after only a few moves.
- Can Tiger Mask next weekend defeat current champion Pepper Gomez, RAW's Gorgeous George, and the EAWA's Chris Candido to leave the Royal Rumble as the Cruiserweight Champion?
Match #3: Mr. Canada (accompanied by The Mountie) defeated Jushin Liger in a Royal Rumble Qualifying Match.
- Mr. Canada overcame Liger's offense to win via his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK.
- As a result, Mr. Canada (Billy "Red" Lyons) advances to the Rumble match next weekend and Liger does not.
Match #4: Boogie Woogie Man defeated Ivan Koloff (accompanied by Nikolai Volkoff and manager Nikita Breznikov) by DQ in a Royal Rumble Qualifying match.
- The feud between the Boogie Woogie Man and Koloff and Volkoff (which started at Survivor Series when Boogie Woogie Man eliminated both Koloff and Volkoff and intensified further at Armageddon where the Russians viciously choked Boogie Woogie Man with Koloff's chain) got even more intense tonight with a spot in the Rumble on the line.
- Although the Boogie Woogie Man got in some occasional moves of offense, Koloff controlled the majority of this match and soon had the Boogie Woogie Man bleeding heavily as Koloff continuously got away with smashing Boogie Woogie Man with his chain as the referee got distracted by Volkoff and Breznikov. But the match ended once the referee signaled for the bell to ring for the DQ after he finally caught Koloff using his chain on the Boogie Woogie Man.
- Afterward, an angry Koloff continued to attack his enemy the Boogie Woogie Man by striking him repeatedly with his chain as Volkoff and Breznikov held the Boogie Woogie Man up in position against a turnbuckle until Buff Bagwell and George South ran out and into the ring to make the save.
- As a result, the Boogie Woogie Man advances to the Rumble next week and his enemy Koloff does not.
End of First Half. Second Half will be posted next and includes: United States Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express vs the New Midnight Express vs the Mongols vs the Armstrongs in a four way elimination match with the winner challenging the World Tag Team Champions the Road Warriors at the Royal Rumble, Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Don Leo Jonathan vs Fritz Von Goering in a triple threat #1 contenders' match with the winner challenging MLW Champion Buddy Rogers at the Royal Rumble, the main event of Frank Gotch, Rikidozan, Antonio Inoki, and Antonino Rocca vs The Four Horsemen: Rogers, Johnny Valentine, George Hackenschmidt, and Larry Zbyszko in an 8 man tag match, and more!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) Smackdown Friday January 16, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (Second Half of the show, First Half is posted above)
Backstage: MLW Champion Buddy Rogers is approached by his fellow Horsemen George Hackenschmidt.
Hackenschmidt: "Buddy, about my comment earlier tonight about a Horsemen possibly using one of our 4 automatic title shots to challenge for your MLW Championship, I only meant we could do it if you lost the MLW Championship."
Rogers (still clearly irritated at and pointing a finger at Hackenschmidt): "Me lose the MLW Championship? Last year you were brought into the Four Horsemen as an associate until we gave you full membership to replace Harley Race. But it looks like you still need to learn your place."
Match #5: United States Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane, manged by Jim Cornette) defeated the new Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey and Rapping Red Bastien), the Mongols (managed by Sir Oliver Humperdink), and the Armstrongs in an elimination #1 contenders tag match.
- Before this match started, to the cheers of the MLW fans, Lane announced that Jim Cornette would not be at ringside for this match because he is injured after being thrown off the scaffold by Condrey at Armageddon.
- First Elimination: Armstrongs when Lane pinned Brad Armstrong via a ROCKET LAUNCHER.
- During this second fall, Cornette surprised everyone by appearing from the backstage area in a wheelchair which he used to roll himself down the ramp to join Eaton and Lane at ringside.
- Second Elimination: Mongols when Condrey suddenly got a reversal and 2 moves later pinned a stunned Bepo Mongol via a FACE FIRST LEG SWEEP.
- Final Elimination: New Midnight Express. This fall ended in controversy with both Lane and Bastien in the ring and both Eaton and Condrey standing on the ring apron holding their assigned tag rope when Eaton suddenly distracted the referee as Cornette shocked everyone by suddenly jumping out of his wheelchair and smashing a stunned Condrey on the back of his head with his tennis racket before quickly jumping back into his wheelchair. Bastien saw this attack by Cornette and tried to alert the referee but in the process got pinned by Lane via a ROCKET LAUNCHER.
- As a result, the Midnight Express will challenge the World Tag Team Champions the Road Warriors next weekend at the Royal Rumble.
- Although it was by now clear that he was faking an injury, Cornette remained in his wheelchair and the Midnight Express started pushing him up the ramp when they stopped as the World Tag Team Champions the Road Warriors came out and warned that if Cornette tries any such tricks at the Royal Rumble then he might really need that wheelchair for the rest of his life.
Match #6: Don Leo Jonathan defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Fritz Von Goering in a triple threat #1 contenders match.
- DLJ won this match by pinning Von Goering via a MORMON SWING.
- As a result, DLJ gets to challenge MLW Champion Buddy Rogers next weekend at the Royal Rumble while both Duggan and Von Goering will be entered as 2 of the 30 participants in the Rumble match.

Match #7, the main event: Frank Gotch, Rikidozan, Antonio Inoki, and Antonino Rocca defeated the Four Horsemen (MLW Champion Buddy Rogers, Johnny Valentine, George Hackenschmidt, and Larry Zbyszko, managed by Eddie Fyne) in an 8 man tag match.
- This match ended when Rikidozan pinned Hackenschmidt via his THUNDEROUS CHOPS.
