Match #1: (#1) World Tag Team Champions the Road Warriors defeated (#8) the New Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey and Rapping Red Bastien)
- Road Warrior Animal pinned Bastien following the DOOMSDAY DEVICE.
Match #2: (#4) Ivan Koloff and Nikolai Volkoff (both managed by Nikita Breznikov) defeated (#5) the Vachons (managed by "Wild" Red Berry)
- Koloff made Butcher Vachon tap out to his RUSSIAN BEARHUG
Match #3: (#2) Buddy Rogers and Rikidozan (both managed by Eddie Fyne) defeated (#7) The Crusher and Angelo Mosca
- Rikidozan pinned Mosca via THUNDEROUS CHOPS
Match #4: (#6) Dan "the Beast" Severn and Antonio Inoki defeated (#3) the Rock 'N Roll Express
- Rock 'N Roll Express become the 2nd of the 4 outside visiting tag teams to be eliminated when Inoki pinned Robert Gibson via a top rope kneedrop.
Bracket B, Second Round
Match #1: (#1) Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane, both managed by Jim Cornette) defeated (#9) The Mongols (managed by Sir Oliver Humperdink) by DQ
-Unlike in last year's 2nd Annual Sammartino Invitational when they got eliminated in the 2nd Round, the Midnight Express this year advanced to the Sweet 16 when The Mongols got DQd outside of the ring for picking up the steel ring steps and hurling them toward Eaton and Cornette.
Match #2: (#12) Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black defeated (#4) EAWA Tag Team Champions the Valiants
- For the 2nd straight round, Jacobs and Black scored an impressive upset when Jacobs pinned Johnny Valiant via THE END TIME.
Match #3: (#2) World Champion Bruiser Brody and Jimmy Snuka defeated (#10) Gorgeous George and Iron Mike DiBiase
- Brody pinned DiBiase via JUMPING KNEE DROP
Match #4: (#3) Fantastics defeated (#6) United States Champion Steve "Dr. Death" Williams and Hacksaw Jim Duggan
- This extremely competitive match ended when Tommy Rogers pinned Williams via the ROCKET LAUNCHER.
Bracket C, Second Round
Match #1: (#1) The Brothers of Other Mothers (Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras) defeated (#8) Rick Rude and Ox Baker (both managed by Bobby Heenan)
- Rude and Baker controlled most of the action and Brazil twice nearly got pinned by the RUDE AWAKENING. But the end came when Mascaras gave Baker his FLYING BODYPRESS which pushed Baker backward into the ropes to knock Rude off of the apron and onto Heenan before richoeting off of the ropes from Mascaras' finisher into a rolled up pinning posisiton for the pinfall.
- Are the Brothers of Other Mothers, who won the two previous Sammartino Invitationals, destined to win the 3rd Annual Sammartino Invitational too?
Match #2: (#4) EAWA Champion Antonino Rocca and Giant Baba defeated (#5) the Heroes of Hardcore
- Baba pinned Hardcore Hodge via the NECKBREAKER DROP.
Match #3: (#2) MLW Champion George Hackenschmidt and Frank Gotch defeated (#10) Delirious and The Destroyer
- Gotch survived a near pinfall from Delirious early on in the match to come back and score the submission for his team when he made The Destroyer tap out to the GOTCH TOEHOLD.
Match #4: (#11) Tiger Mask and Jushin Liger defeated (#14) Naptown Dragons
- Liger pinned Scotty Vortekz via the LIGER BOMB.
Bracket D, Second Round
Match #1: MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos (Managed by Captain Kangaroo- Albano) defeated Adam Pearce and Steve Corino (both managed by Larry Sweeney)
- Al Costello pinned Corino following the BOOMERANG.
- As a result of the loss by Pierce and Corino, Jacobs and Black are the last tag team left representing Minor League Wrestlemania which means they win a title shot on Sunday against the Minor League Tag Team Champions Mike Quackenbush and Arik Cannon between the Semi-Finals and Fianl Four matches of the Final Four- unless of course Jacobs and Black make the Final Four.
Match #2: (#5) Jim Londos and Diamond Dallas Page defeated (#4) New Age Outlaws
- Londos pinned Kip James via a headlock throw.
Match #3: (#2) Nick Bockwinkel and Harley Race (both managed by Bobby Heenan) defeated (#7) EAWA General Manager the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase and King Kong Bundy
- Race pinned Bundy via a vertical suplex
