Adam Cole with what may be the promo of the year. That was an awesome promo by Cole. The final 3 first-round matches for the 2012 Battle of Los Angeles were announced today: Roderick Strong vs. Drake Younger Brian Cage vs. B-Boy T.J. Perkins vs. Joey Ryan I am waiting to see if there is an announced bracket this year or not before making my picks. I don't think PWG has said yet whether or not there is an announced bracket this year (there was one in 2009, was not one in 2010, but there was one in 2011.)

The first night of BOLA sounds so incredible. I can not wait to get that on DVD. I'm probably gonna try to avoid spoilers (including the DVD preview) for this one.

Here is the BOLA promo by Drake Younger (who just made his PWG debut last month at Threemendous III):

Younger cuts a hell of a promo. Glad he's finally made his way out to PWG.

I posted this on another thread, but with BOLA coming up this weekend I wanted to post these first round matchups here too:
First round matches in the 2012 Battle of Los Angeles are scheduled to include:
Adam Cole (1st Battle of Los Angeles) vs. El Generico (8th Battle of Los Angeles - 2011 Battle of Los Angeles winner)
Michael Elgin (1st Battle of Los Angeles) vs. Davey Richards (5th Battle of Los Angeles - 2006 Battle of Los Angeles winner)
Ricochet (2nd Battle of Los Angeles) vs. "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen (6th Battle of Los Angeles)
Eddie Edwards (2nd Battle of Los Angeles) vs. Kyle O'Reilly (1st Battle of Los Angeles)
Sami Callihan (1st Battle of Los Angeles) vs. Willie Mack (2nd Battle of Los Angeles)
TJ Perkins (2nd Battle of Los Angeles) vs. Joey Ryan (6th Battle of Los Angeles - 2010 Battle of Los Angeles winner)
B-Boy (1st Battle of Los Angeles) vs. Brian Cage (2nd Battle of Los Angeles)
Roderick Strong (7th Battle of Los Angeles) vs. Drake Younger (1st Battle of Los Angeles)
Without an actual bracket (those first round matchups are not listed in an official bracket format,) it makes it more difficult to pick a winner. But I am currently leaning toward either Roderick Strong or Michale Elgin as I think Willie Mack and Michael Cage might cause each other to lose their matches (either in the first round or second round) against their opponents.
I wonder if perhaps Roderick Strong vs Michael Elgin might actually take place at some point this weekend at PWG during BOLA before it takes place at ROH?

I am so excited about the Battle of Los Angeles starting today that I woke up a little after 2 AM and I am having trouble getting back to sleep.
This will be the 4th straight year I have gone to BOLA (2009-2012 for me) and for some reason the field this year seems more wide open than it has in the past. I can't wait until this show starts!

These are my current picks for tonight's first round matches:
Kevin Steen over Ricochet
El Generico over Adam Cole
Michael Elgin over Davey Richards
Eddie Edwards over Kyle O'Reilly
Willie Mack over Sami Callihan
Brian Cage over B-Boy
Joey Ryan over T.J. Perkins (but I could definitely see TJP winning this match too)
Roderick Strong over Drake Younger
Without a complete bracket, it is definitely harder to predict an overall winner. However at the moment I am still leaning toward Strong, Elgin, or Mack (but I sort of think Cage might cause Mack to get eliminated at some point- I definitely expect something to happen between Mack and Cage either tonight or tomorrow.)
The annual premier tournament for singles competition in North American wrestling starts in just 9 hours!
