It's now time for this week's edition of Thursday Night RAW!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) RAW Thursday January 14, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (First Half of show)
Match #1: Don Muraco and Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. (both managed by Sherri Martel) defeated Yukon Eric and Cousin Luke
- On their way to the ring, Yukon Eric and Cousin Luke were greeted by Hillbilly Jim sitting in his front row seat thanks to the front row ticket to all MLW shows for the next two months that Cousin Luke gave him as a belated Christmas present last weekend at New Years Revolution. Although they were separated by the guard rail, Hillbilly Jim and Cousin Luke still hooked arms and danced. But Yukon Eric refused to join in the merriment.
- Cousin Luke entered the ring still clapping his hands while looking at Hillbilly Jim and this distracted him as the bell rang to signify the start of the match. Muraco took advantage of the situation to attack Cousin Luke right as the bell sounded and pinned him via the HAWAIIAN HAMMER after just 3 moves to win the match.
- Afterward, Yukon Eric looked noticeably upset at Cousin Luke for losing their tag match so easily tonight.
Match #2: Maurice Tillet defeated Pepper Gomez
- Good match, Tillet won via his BEARHUG.
- Gomez, who last weekend at New Years Revolution defeated Cruiserweight Champion Tiger Mask in a non-title match to earn a title shot in a rematch at the Royal Rumble, lost tonight against the heavyweight Tillet. But will Gomez defeat Tiger Mask once again at the Royal Rumble to start his 3rd reign as the Cruiserweight Champion?
In the Ring: RAW General Manager Bob Backlund
Backlund has the following news about the Royal Rumble as it pertains to the RAW brand:
1) the Royal Rumble has been pushed up 1 week to Sunday January 31st (Promoter's Note: the Royal Rumble results will probably actually be posted either before or after the 31st because I'll be in Los Angeles that day at WrestleReunion 4).
2) the RAW portion of the main event at the Royal Rumble will be new World Champion Mil Mascaras vs Jim Londos in a 1 on 1 match after Londos was the last wrestler to be defeated in the elimination chamber match won by Mascaras last weekend for the World Championship.
3) Nick Bockwinkel, Harley Race, Rick Rude, and Frank Gotch (the other 4 wrestlers in last weekend's elimination chamber match at New Years Revolution) will be competing in the Rumble match at the Royal Rumble.
4) Other wrestlers form RAW competing in the 30 man Royal Rumble will be the new Intercontinental Champion The Sheik, former Intercontinental Champion Jimmy Snuka who lost the title last weekend to The Sheik, and Bruiser Brody who impressively defeated both Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake in a handicap match last weekend at New Years Revolution.
5) There will be a series of rematches from last weekend's New Years Revolution coming up next tonight on RAW- but the winner this time will win a spot in the Rumble match at the Royal Rumble!
Match #3: Masked Superstar defeated Jushin Liger in a Royal Rumble Qualifying Match
- This was an awesome match that saw Jushin Liger twice go for the quick win first via a tombstone piledriver and then via a FISHERMAN'S BUSTER. Liger himself survived 5 different pin/submission attempts before the Masked Superstar finally got the win via a bodyslam.
- As a result, the Masked Superstar, who has now defeated Liger twice in less than a week, has won a spot in the Royal Rumble!
In the Ring: The Mountie
- The Mountie said this is where he would be having a rematch from last weekend's New Years Revolution against his enemy Konnan. But since Konnan left that match defeated and injured he (Konnan) is unable to compete in this rematch tonight. So The Mountie says he's been informed by Backlund that he (The Mountie) wins this rematch by forfeit and thus gets an automatic spot in the Royal Rumble as the crowd greets this news with loud boos.
Match #4: John Pesek defeated Diamond Dallas Page in a Royal Rumble Qualifying match
- Pesek, who defeated his former tag team partner DDP last weekend at New Years Revolution, once again defeated his enemy DDP- this time via the TIGER MAN TOEHOLD.
- As a result, Pesek wins a spot in the Royal Rumble!
Match #5: Intercontinental Champion The Sheik (managed by Abdullah Farouk) defeated S.D. Jones in anon-title match
- Jones startled The Sheik with some strong offense to start the match which included two near pinfalls first via a power body slam and then via a HEAD BUTT with The Sheik barely managing to kick out both times to avoid the huge upset.
- Although Jones put up a great fight and valiantly survived 4 pin/submission attempts, The Sheik finally got the win via his version of the CAMEL CLUTCH.
- Afterward, apparently frustrated at how much trouble Jones gave him tonight, The Sheik prepared to attack him with a sharp unidentified foreign object before Snuka and Brody ran in to make the save.
End of First Half. Second Half will be posted next.

thank you Dustin Neal for your words of support for my fed!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) RAW Thursday January 14, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (Second Half of show, First Half is posted above)
Match #6: Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake defeated the Body Donnas (managed by Tammy)
- Valentine pinned Chris Candido following Valentine chops.
- Afterward, Candido and Tom Prichard were suddenly attacked and and kicked out of the ring by Gorgeous George and Exotic Adrian Street. George, who last weekend at New Years Revolution was seen backstage talking to Street about something, said he and Street have just formed a new tag team- Gorgeously Exotic.
Backstage: Frank Gotch approaches Rick Rude who last weekend at New Years Revolution gave him a sudden RUDE AWAKENING right as both of them were exiting the elimination chamber after being eliminated.
- Gotch says he can't stand Heenan Family scum and said he's about to teach Rude a lesson tonight in the ring on RAW.
Match #7: Frank Gotch defeated Rick Rude (managed by Bobby Heenan and accompanied by Heenan Family "problem solver" Ox Baker).
- Gotch overcame interference from Baker to win this match via an Iowa backdrop.
In the Ring: The Love Brothers
- Reginald Love says the MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos only defeated them on a technicality last weekend at New Years Revolution and they (Love Brothers) are about to win the chance to challenge them again at the Royal Rumble.
Match #8: Killer Bees defeated the Love Brothers in a #1 contenders match.
- For this match, to determine their challenger at the Royal Rumble, the MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos and their manager Captain Kangaroo gave guest commentary.
- It was mentioned by the TV announcers that the reason these two tag teams were getting to fight for the right to challenge the Fabulous Kangaroos is due to the Love Brothers controversially losing by DQ last weekend to the Kangaroos and the Killer Bees being the only other tag team to win a match (they defeated Muraco and Orton Jr.) last weekend at New Years Revolution.
- This match ended quickly when B. Brian Blair made Reginald Love tap out to his scorpion leglock in just 3 moves.
- As the Killer Bees celebrated their impressive victory, they were serenaded with chants of "Bee Up!" by the MLW Universe in attendance. Will the Killer Bees be the tag team to end the 17 month championship reign of the Fabulous Kangaroos?
Royal Rumble advertisement Royal Rumble presented by MLW's RAW, Smackdown, and EAWA brands Sunday January 31, 2010 1. Royal Rumble match (winner receives a main event title shot at Wrestlemania 3): Frank Gotch, Nick Bockwinkel, Harley Race, Rick Rude, Intercontinental Champion The Sheik, Jimmy Snuka, Bruiser Brody, Masked Superstar, The Mountie, John Pesek, and 20 more competitors TBA 2. World Champion Mil Mascaras vs Jim Londos 3. Antonino Rocca vs MLW Champion Buddy Rogers 4. MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos vs the Killer Bees 5. more matches TBA
Match #9, the main event: Nick Bockwinkel and Harley Race (both managed by Bobby Heenan and accompanied by Heenan Family "problem solver" Ox Baker) defeated World Champion Mil Mascaras and Jim Londos
- Mascaras and his Rumble challenger Londos just didn't seem in sync for this match and the Heenan Family won when Race pinned Londos via a vertical suplex.

It's now time for this week's edition of Friday Night Smackdown!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) Smackdown Friday January 15, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena (First Half of the show)
Match #1: Fritz Von Goering defeated Koko B. Ware
- Von Goering won this opening match via a reverse full nelson.
Match #2: Armstrongs defeated Ivan Koloff and Nikolai Volkoff (both managed by Nikita Breznikov) by DQ
- This match ended when the referee caught Koloff using his chain on "Bullet" Bob Armstrong.
- Suddenly, Ed "Strangler" Lewis (who was viciously attacked by Nikolai Volkoff after eliminating Koloff in the elimination chamber match at Armageddon), came down to ringside and placed Breznikov in the STRANGLER'S HEADLOCK. Lewis then said he owes Volkoff some payback and this payback is coming soon.
Match #3: Don Leo Jonathan defeated the Boogie Woogie Man by DQ
- DLJ had control during most of this match which ended when the action spilled outside of the ring where in apparent frustration the Boogie Woogie Man was DQd for smashing a steel chair against the head of DLJ.
In the Ring: Smackdown General Manager Dusty Rhodes
- Rhodes says he has the following news as it pertains to Smackdown at the Royal Rumble in 2 weeks:
1) representing Smackdown in the Rumble will be the 5 men who lost in the elimination chamber at Armageddon: George Hackenschmidt, Bobo Brazil, DLJ, Ed "Strangler" Lewis, and Ivan Koloff.
2) both Dan "the Beast' Severn and Antonio Inoki, who lost the triple threat #1 contenders match to Antonino Rocca at Armageddon, will also be in the Rumble,
3) Smackdown's secondary champion, United States Champion Rikidozan, will also be in the Rumble
4) some of the other spots in the Rumble allocated to Smackdown will be determined tonight on Smackdown through qualifying matches that start right now!
Match #4: Magnum T.A. defeated Buff Bagwell in a Royal Rumble Qualifying Match
- Before this match began, Bagwell got on the microphone and said at Sylvester Stalloneslam in their Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot! match he's going to teach Savage-T a lesson for making moves on his mom backstage last month at Cruisergate.
- Magnum T.A., who made his surprise MLW in ring debut last month at Armageddon, dominated this match and won easily via his BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX.
- As a result, Magnum T.A. wins a spot in the Royal Rumble.
Match #5: One Man Gang (managed by Jim Cornette) defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan in a Royal Rumble Qualifying Match
- Duggan seemingly had this match won when Cornette jumped on the apron to distract the referee which allowed the One Man Gang, who earlier in this match missed a 747 SPLASH, to regain control and win via a big right hand.
- As a result of defeating his enemy Duggan who he also defeated in a hardcore match at Armageddon, the One Man Gang wins a spot in the Royal Rumble.
Match #6: Bob Roop defeated Mr. Canada in a Royal Rumble Qualifying Match.
- In this battle of wrestlers representing different nationalities, Roop defeated Mr. Canada (Billy "Red" Lyons) via a SHOULDER BREAKER.
- As a result, Roop wins a spot in the Royal Rumble.
End of First Half. Second Half will be posted next.

Major League Wrestling (MLW) Smackdown Friday January 15, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena (Second Half of the show, First Half is posted above)
- Upon the return of Smackdown from commercial break, the camera shows Hillbilly Jim sitting in his front row seat thanks to the front row ticket to all MLW shows for the next two months that Cousin Luke gave him as a belated Christmas present at New Years Revolution.
Backstage: MLW Champion Buddy Rogers is approached by Bobo Brazil who he eliminated in the elimination chamber last month at Armageddon.
- Brazil says Rogers only eliminated him at Armageddon after DLJ was the one who actually inflicted the punishment on him (Brazil). Brazil also tells Rogers he got Smackdown General Manager Dusty Rhodes to schedule a match between him (Brazil) and Rogers tonight to see how Rogers does against Brazil straight up in a one on one match!
Backstage: Antonio Inoki is approached by Dan "the Beast" Severn.
- Inoki and Severn both lost to Antonino Rocca in their triple threat #1 contender's match at Armageddon and Severn says he wants to wrestle Inoki tonight in a consolation match. Inoki, despite an inability to speak English, seems to understand and shakes Severn's hand in agreement.
Match #7: Johnny Valentine (accompanied by Larry Zbyszko and managed by Eddie Fyne) defeated Antonino Rocca by DQ.
- Rocca, who is challenging Valentine's fellow Horseman Rogers for the MLW Championship at the Royal Rumble, got DQd when the action spilled outside of the ring where Zbyszko tried to hit Rocca with a steel chair. Rocca ducked and avoided getting hit with the chair, but this caused the referee to get hit with the chair instead.
- However, instead of DQing Zbyszko's fellow Horsemen Valentine, the referee astonishingly DQd Rocca!
- Ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta gave the following explanation for the controversial ruling: "Ladies and gentlemen, referee Bill Alphonso has ruled that if Rocca hadn't ducked then he (Alphonso) wouldn't have been hit with the steel chair and thus he has DQd Rocca."
- The fans in response heavily booed Alphonso because they think he cheated Rocca out of a victory tonight.
Match #8: Antonio Inoki defeated Dan "the Beast" Severn
- Before this match began, both Severn and Inoki shook hands in a sign of sportsmanship.
- Inoki got the win via ENZUIGIRI.
- In the Ring: Cappetta announces that the winner of the following tag team match will get the opportunity to challenge the World Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express at the Royal Rumble!
Match #9: Road Warriors defeated the New Age Outlaws in a #1 contender's match.
- For this match to determine their challenger at the Royal Rumble, the World Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane) along with their manager Jim Cornette provided guest color commentary.
- Although the New Age Outlaws put up a better fight here than they did against the Road Warriors at Armageddon, the Road Warriors again won without too much difficulty when Road Warrior Hawk pinned B.G. James following the DOOMSDAY DEVICE.
- As a result, the Road Warriors will be taking on the Midnight Express at the Royal Rumble in what will be the first one on one matchup between these two tag teams since Wrestlemania 2 when the Road Warriors defeated the Midnight Express to unify the Smackdown tag team titles. Will the Road Warriors also defeat the Midnight Express at the Royal Rumble to regain the World Tag Team Championship?
Royal Rumble advertisement Royal Rumble presented by MLW's RAW, Smackdown, and EAWA brands Sunday January 31, 2010 1. Royal Rumble match (winner receives a main event title shot at Wrestlemania 3): Frank Gotch, Nick Bockwinkel, Harley Race, Rick Rude, Intercontinental Champion The Sheik, Jimmy Snuka, Bruiser Brody, Masked Superstar, The Mountie, John Pesek, George Hackenschmidt, Ed "Strangler" Lewis, Ivan Koloff, Bobo Brazil, Don Leo Jonathan, United States Champion Rikidozan, Dan "the Beast" Severn, Antonio Inoki, Magnum T.A., One Man Gang, Bob Roop, and 9 more competitors TBA 2. World Champion Mil Mascaras vs Jim Londos 3. Antonino Rocca vs MLW Champion Buddy Rogers 4. Road Warriors vs World Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express 5. MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos vs the Killer Bees 6. more matches TBA
Match #10: Bobo Brazil defeated MLW Champion Buddy Rogers (managed by Eddie Fyne) in a non-title match.
- Rogers put up a great fight, but Brazil seemed determined to prove a point and won via his COCO BUTT.
- Afterward, Rogers seemed non-responsive after getting hit with that powerful COCO BUTT from Brazil to end the match and had to be assisted by the other members of the Four Horsemen (United States Champion Rikidozan, Johnny Valentine, Zbyszko, and Fyne) along with trainers and EMTs onto a stretcher.
- As Rogers seems genuinely hurt, the TV announcers wonder aloud what the implications might be for Roger's upcoming title defense against Rocca in just 2 weeks as the show comes to an end.
End of show.

- Afterward, the Valiants ran out to attack RVD and Sabu again but RVD and Sabu grabbed the Singapore canes of Sandman and Credible to hold back the Valiant brothers.
- RVD then got on the microphone and said although he and Sabu can't compete in the Royal Rumble this year they still want to at lest compete at the Royal Rumble and challenged the Valiants to a #1 contenders' match next week on EAWA with the winner getting a shot at the EAWA Tag Team Champions the Vachons at the Royal Rumble.

BREAKING NEWS:
Doctors have determined that MLW Champion Buddy Rogers suffered a concussion from Bobo Brazil's COCO BUTT last week on Smackdown that allowed Brazil to win that non-title matchup against Rogers and saw Rogers afterward require assistance in leaving the ring.
What this means for Rogers' upcoming scheduled title defense against Antonino Rocca in a week and a half at the Royal Rumble remains to be determined, but Smackdown General Manager Dusty Rhodes says he will have an announcement about this situation at the Royal Rumble.
Also, this week the regular editions of RAW, Smackdown, and EAWA will not take place (I have a deadline for a major project I have to finish for work in order to go to WrestleReunion 4 next weekend). However the B shows Heat, Velocity, and Atrocity for RAW, Smackdown, and EAWA respectively will all take place to determine the remaining participants and contenders for the following weekend's Royal Rumble PPV.
