It's now time for this week's episode of RAW- the last RAW before Summer Slam next weekend!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) RAW Thursday August 13, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (First Half of show)
Match #1: Nick Bockwinkel (managed by Bobby Heenan and accompanied by the Heenan Family "problem solver" Ox Baker)defeated Jim Brunzell
- Despite constant loud encouraging cheers of "Bee Up" from the fans, Brunzell lost this opening match to Bockwinkel who next weekend at Summer Slam will be wrestling his enemy MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino in a steel cage match. Bockwinkel won this match by forcing Brunzell to tap out to his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK.
- During the match, the TV announcers reminded the viewers that Brunzell's tag team partner, B. Brian Blair, is now 1 week into his 28 days- so he'll be out of rehab and back at RAW in about 3 weeks.
Match #2: MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos (managed by Captain Kangaroo) defeated Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake in a non-title match.
- The Kangaroos won when Al Costello pinned Beefcake following the BOOMERANG.
- Afterward, the Kangaroos, who have held the MLW Tag Team Championship since winning it from the New Age Outlaws last September at Unforgiven, announced "Nobody on RAW can beat us!"
- MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino from the top of the stage then made a sudden appearance where with a microphone he said: "Yes, it looks like nobody on RAW can beat you. That's why your Summer Slam opponent WON'T be from RAW. At Summer Slam, one of the few nights of the year where wrestlers from different brands can wrestle each other, it will be the MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos vs the Road Warriors from Smackdown for only the 2nd time in Major League Wrestling PPV History!"
- Captain Kangaroo (Albano) then got on the microphone to say bring on the Road Warriors because the first and only other time this matchup has taken place on an MLW PPV (No Way Out 2007) the Kangaroos beat the Road Warriors 2-0 in a best 2 out of 3 falls match!
Match #3: Rick Rude (managed by Bobby Heenan and accompanied by Heenan Family "problem solver" Ox Baker) defeated Yukon Eric (accompanied by Cousin Luke and Ida Mae Martinez)
- The conditions of this match, as set up last week on RAW, were that if Yukon Eric defeated Rude (who earlier this summer on RAW conned Martinez into agreeing to spend a night with him) then Martinez would no longer be obligated to fulfill that promise.
- A really good match that Yukon Eric almost won for his beloved Ida, but Rude got the victory when he pinned Yukon Eric after a clothesline while putting both of his feet on the ropes for extra leverage. So Ida still has to spend a night with Rude.
- Afterward, Rude got on the microphone to say he wants Ida to spend that promised night with him at Summer Slam and challenger her to something with him live at Summer Slam in the center of the ring!
Backstage: Ladies Champion Sherri Martel is with Don Muraco and Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. when World Champion Bruiser Brody walks up.
- Holding up his Money in the Bank briefcase that he won at Wrestlemania 2, Muraco tells Brody it doesn't matter whether he (Brody) faces Frank Gotch or Harley Race at Summer Slam because he (Muraco) might just cash in his briefcase that night against the winner anyway.
- Brody starts to get into an argument with Muraco and Orton Jr. until Martel challenges Brody to match tonight of Brody and a partner of his choice against Muraco and Orton Jr.- and Martel says she already knows Brody can't pick his friend Jimmy Snuka as his partner because Snuka's match tonight is up next.
- Brody accepts Martel's challenge.
Match #4: Masked Superstar defeated Jimmy Snuka by DQ in a qualifying match for the Summer Slam Scramble
- Snuka seemed to have this match in control until the action spilled outside of the ring where in an apparent fit of rage against his enemy, Snuka grabbed a steel chair and smashed it on the head of the Masked Superstar leading to the DQ.
- Realizing what he just did, Snuka expressed frustration, but it will be the Masked Superstar instead who participates in next weekend's Summer Slam Scramble at Summer Slam!
End of First Half. Second Half will be posted next and includes another Summer Slam Scramble qualifying match between Jim Londos and Diamond Dallas Page, MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino in action, World Champion Bruiser Brody and a mystery partner vs Don Muraco and Cowboy Bob Orton Jr., and Frank Gotch vs Harley Race for the right to challenge Brody at Summer Slam!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) RAW Thursday August 13, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (Second Half of show, First Half is posted above)
Match #5: Jim Londos defeated Diamond Dallas Page in a qualifying match for the Summer Slam Scramble
- Londos won this match over his rival DDP via the BOSTON CRAB which he applied directly after DDP missed a turnbuckle charge.
- As a result, Londos advances to the Summer Slam Scramble next week at Summer Slam!
Backstage: Pacing around with his hands gripped in frustration at getting DQd in his Summer Slam Scramble qualifying match against his enemy the Masked Superstar, Snuka is approached by RAW General Manager Bob Backlund.
- Backlund tells Snuka he understands his frustration but that he (Backlund) can't change the match result and put Snuka into the Summer Slam Scramble.
- However Backlund says, provided the Masked Superstar doesn't win the Summer Slam Scramble to earn the automatic title shot at the next PPV, he can put Snuka in a match against the Masked Superstar at Unforgiven where Snuka won't have to worry about getting DQd like he did tonight against his enemy the Masked Superstar because at Unforgiven it will be Snuka vs the Masked Superstar in a dog-collar match (Snuka's specialty match here in MLW)!
- Backlund also tells Snuka that although he once again can't put Snuka into the Summer Slam Scramble, he can still put Snuka into a match at Summer Slam against an opponent he fought some awesome battles against in the Northeast Territory. Backlund then points at himself and says at Summer Slam it will be RAW General Manager Bob Backlund vs Jimmy Snuka and Snuka shakes Backlund's hand in agreement!
Match #6: MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino defeated John Pesek
- Sammartino, in a tune-up for his steel cage match next week against Nick Bockwinkel at Summer Slam, made a rare televised wrestling appearance on RAW in this match against Pesek.
- Wrestling in just his 2nd MLW match, Pesek lost but looked very impressive against Sammartino to indicate that he (Pesek) might have a bright future here in Major League Wrestling. A great contest, but Sammartino won via his BEARHUG.
(Promoter's Note: I use the Bruno Sammartino card from Cory Olson's LOW Bootlegs group).
Match #7: Harley Race (managed by Bobby Heenan and accompanied by Heenan Family "problem solver" Ox Baker) defeated Frank Gotch
- This was a match agreed to by Gotch, even though he didn't have to accept Race's challenge, to determine who got to challenge World Champion Bruiser Brody in the RAW portion of the main event at Summer Slam.
- Race won the match when Baker interfered by giving Gotch a HEART PUNCH which Race followed with his PILEDRIVER for the 3 count.
- As Race, Baker, and Heenan were celebrating their victory which put Race in the main event at Summer Slam, RAW General Manager Bob Backlund came out.
- Backlund says because Race only won the match by cheating and because Gotch was brave enough to accept Race's challenge anyway, he is putting Gotch into the main event at Summer Slam which will now be a triple threat match of World Champion Bruiser Brody vs Harley Race vs Frank Gotch!
Summer Slam Advertisement 1. World Champion Bruiser Brody vs Frank Gotch vs Harley Race 2. MLW Champion George Hackenschmidt vs Buddy Rogers 3. MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino vs Nick Bockwinkel (steel cage match) 4. Mil Mascaras vs Intercontinental Champion The Sheik (no DQ match) 5. MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos vs the Road Warriors 6. Antonino Rocca vs United States Champion Rikidozan 7. Bobo Brazil and Dan "the Beast" Severn vs World Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express 8. Summer Slam Scramble Match: Jim Londos vs Masked superstar vs 3 participants TBA 9. RAW General Manager Bob Backlund vs Jimmy Snuka 10. 1 more match TBA
In the Ring: For their main event match tonight, Muraco and Orton Jr. came to the ring accompanied by their manager Martel.
- Martel (to the booing crowd): "If you like us, raise your hand. If you don't like us, raise your standards!"
- Brody then came to the ring and then Brody's mystery tag partner was revealed: Mil Mascaras!
Match #8, the main event: Don Muraco and Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. (managed by Ladies Champion Sherri Martel) defeated World Champion Bruiser Brody and Mil Mascaras.
- The end of this match came when Intercontinental Champion The Sheik (who is defending his title against Mascaras in a no DQ match next week at Summer Slam) and his manager Abdullah Farouk made a surprise appearance by walking once around the ring which distracted both Brody and Mascaras. Martel took advantage of this distraction to smack Brody hard on the head with Muraco's Money in the Bank briefcase and Muraco then gave Brody the HAWAIIAN HAMMER for the pinfall.
- The TV announcers just pointed out that Muraco just pinned World Champion Bruiser Brody! Will Muraco follow through on his threat to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase after Brody's triple threat title defense next week at Summer Slam and possibly pin Brody (or whoever wins that triple threat title match) once again!
- Farouk (speaking from the top of the stage with a microphone): "Mil Mascaras, you made a mistake getting that title match against The Sheik next week turned into a no DQ match. After Summer Slam next week Mil Mascaras, you'll be drinking your tacos through a straw!"
(Promoter's Note: That "drinking tacos through a straw" line is based on something LOTF's Chuck Taylor said El Generico will have to do after their street fight match next time at PWG.)
- As Mascaras checks on Brody and as the fans through their $1 beers at a retreating but celebrating Martel, Muraco, and Orton Jr., tonight's show comes to an end.
End of Show

Thanks Swarm and sickman! I just have 1 more match that needs to be announced for Summer Slam.
Major League Wrestling (MLW) Smackdown Friday August 14, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV
Match #1: World Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane, both managed by Jim Cornette) defeated the New Age Outlaws in a non-title match.
- The Midnight Express looked impressive in this match as they controlled almost all of the action and won when Lane pinned Kip James following the ROCKET LAUNCHER.
- But, the TV announcers wonder aloud to their audience, will the Midnight Express still have the World Tag Team Championship after next weekend's Summer Slam where they defend their title against Bobo Brazil and Dan "the Beast" Severn?
Backstage: Heading to the ring for his match, Ed "Strangler" Lewis runs into Bob Roop.
- Lewis tells Roop to see his next match so he can "watch and learn, amateur."
Match #2: Mr. Canada defeated Ed "Strangler" Lewis in a Summer Slam Scramble qualifying match.
- Mr. Canada (Billy "Red" Lyons) won 1 of the 2 Smackdown spots in the Summer Slam Scramble when Lewis got distracted by Roop suddenly showing up at ringside to watch the match as Lewis requested and Lyons took advantage of the opportunity to place Lewis in his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK which forced Lewis to tap out.
- After the match, an angry Lewis got on the microphone to say: "Bob Roop, you just cost me a chance to go to Summer Slam. I'm going to kick your red, white, and blue Olympic ass!"
Match #3: Don Leo Jonathan defeated Antonio Inoki in a Summer Slam Scramble qualifying match.
- DLJ was able to win the 2nd of 2 Summer Slam spots in the Summer Slam Scramble when he put away his enemy Inoki via the MORMON SWING.
Match #4: Ivan Koloff (accompanied by Nikolai Volkoff and managed by Nikita Breznikov) defeated Road Warrior Hawk (accompanied by Road Warrior Animal.
- This singles matchup came one week after the Road Warriors (who at Summer Slam wrestle RAW's MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos in an inter-promotional match) defeated their enemies Koloff and Volkoff by DQ when Koloff hit Hawk with his chain.
- The match of the night, Koloff won when he got away this time with smashing Hawk with his chain to get the pinfall.

Summer Slam Scramble Match: Jim Londos vs Masked superstar vs Mr. Canada vs Don Leo Jonathan vs 2 EAWA participants TBA 9. RAW General Manager Bob Backlund vs Jimmy Snuka 10. 1 more match TBA
Match #5: The Four Horsemen (Buddy Rogers, United States Champion Rikidozan, Johnny Valentine, and Larry Zbyszko, all managed by Eddie Fyne) defeated MLW Champion George Hackenschmidt, Antonino Rocca, Bobo Brazil, and Dan "the Beast" Severn
- On the final episode of Smackdown before Summer Slam next weekend, tonight's main event featured all of the Four Horsemen against their 2 Summer Slam opponents (Hackenschmidt for Rogers and Rocca for Rikidozan) plus Brazil and Severn who together at Summer Slam will try to win the World Tag Team Championship from the Midnight Express.
- The Four Horsemen won when Rogers made Severn tap out to his FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE.
- Rogers has looked good in recent weeks. At Summer Slam will he be able to defeat his former Horsemen teammate Hackenschmidt to start his 5th reign as the MLW Champion?

Thanks for the picks Neil and ceo! Ceo, after the end of today's EAWA episode you'll know if you guessed that final match correctly.
With 1 week to go before Summer Slam, it's now time for this week's edition of Saturday EAWA where Rob Van Dam now only has 2 weeks to make his debut match appearance before EAWA General Manager and new EAWA Champion the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase can nullify RVD's contract!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) EAWA Saturday August 15, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (First Half of show)
Match #1: Al Snow defeated D' Lo Brown
- Last week on EAWA, both Brown and Snow lost their debut matches, so one of these two would win their first match in this matchup against each other.
- Snow pinned Brown via multiple head butts to get his first MLW victory.
Backstage: EAWA General Manager/EAWA Champion the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase is in his office with King Kong Bundy and Virgil.
- DiBiase tells Bundy and Virgil that the end of tonight's show will feature him celebrating his newly won EAWA Championship and to be on the lookout for RVD.
Match #2: The Terrible Turk defeated The Crusher
- One week after defeating The Crusher, the Terrible Turk once again scored an upset win over the former EAWA Champion and the former Brass Knuckles Champion.
- To win the match, the Terrible Turk once again took advantage of the EAWA's extreme rules for all its matches by using his controversial STRANGLEHOLD for which he can't get disqualified for here in the EAWA.
- With back to back impressive wins over The Crusher, the TV announcers speculate that the Terrible Turk might be in line for an upcoming title shot against current Brass Knuckles Champion Sabu.
Backstage: Giant Baba is minding his own business when he is suddenly approached by the Barroom Heroes (Sandman and Justin Credible).
- The Barroom Heroes taunt Baba and Credible then dumps some beer on Baba's head. As Baba turns to confront Credible, Sandman shoves his lit cigarette in Baba's face before cowardly running away with Credible.
- The TV announcers remark that Baba certainly will get revenge upon the Barroom Heroes for their disgusting attack on him.
Match #3: Brass Knuckles Champion Sabu defeated the Iron Sheik in a Summer Slam Scramble qualifying match
- This match featured current Brass Knuckles Champion Sabu against the Iron Sheik who last week on EAWA lost the EAWA Championship to EAWA General Manager the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase.
- Sabu won this match via his CAMEL CLUTCH- making the Iron Sheik tap out to a version of his own finisher- to advance to the #1 contenders Summer Slam Scramble at Summer Slam!
Backstage: The Missing Link is once again staring intently at Head who is sitting on a table. The Missing Link appears ready to grab head until Snow walks by to pick up Head and carry Head away.
Backstage: Returning from the ring from his previous match, the Iron Sheik is met by EAWA General Manager/EAWA Champion the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, Bundy, and Virgil.
- DiBiase tells the Iron Sheik that although he (Iron Sheik) just lost his chance to participate in the Summer Slam Scramble, he can still be in Summer Slam because he (DiBiase) is offering the Iron Sheik a rematch for the EAWA Championship- that the Iron Sheik lost last week on EAWA to DiBiase- at Summer Slam!
- The Iron Sheik gratefully agrees and DiBiase tells him to be at DiBiase's in-ring celebration at the end of the show where DiBiase will have a contract drawn up for their title match at Summer Slam that the Iron Sheik just needs to sign.
- As the Iron Sheik leaves, DiBiase tells Bundy and Virgil, "Since I have to defend my EAWA Championship at Summer Slam, it's going to be against someone who, as we know from the end of last week's show, I can beat." DiBiase then laughs his Million Dollar Laugh.
End of First Half- and still no sign of RVD!
Second Half will be posted next and includes the final Summer Slam Scramble qualifying match between Steve "Dr. Death" Williams and Killer Kowalski, a grudge match between Ray Stevens and Bob Orton Sr., a title match between EAWA Tag Team Champions the Valiants and the Double Axe Attack, and DiBiase's in-ring celebration and contract signing with the Iron Sheik for their match for DiBiase's EAWA Championship at Summer Slam!

Thanks sickman and Cory! Based on its lineup, Summer Slam might be the biggest PPV in Major League Wrestling History!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) EAWA Saturday August 15, 2009 The Major League Wrestling Arena Las Vegas, NV (Second Half of show, First Half is posted above)
Match #4: Steve "Dr. Death" Williams defeated Killer Kowalski in a Summer Slam Scramble qualifying match
- For the 2nd consecutive week on EAWA, Williams defeated his enemy Kowalski- but this time in the process he earned the final spot in the Summer Slam Scramble at Summer Slam!
Summer Slam Advertisement 1. World Champion Bruiser Brody vs Frank Gotch vs Harley Race 2. MLW Champion George Hackenschmidt vs Buddy Rogers 3. MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino vs Nick Bockwinkel (steel cage match) 4. Mil Mascaras vs Intercontinental Champion The Sheik (no DQ match) 5. MLW Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos vs the Road Warriors 6. Antonino Rocca vs United States Champion Rikidozan 7. Bobo Brazil and Dan "the Beast" Severn vs World Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express 8. Summer Slam Scramble Match: Jim Londos vs Masked Superstar vs Mr. Canada vs Don Leo Jonathan vs Brass Knuckles Champion Sabu vs Steve "Dr. Death" Williams 9. RAW General Manager Bob Backlund vs Jimmy Snuka 10. 1 more match TBA
Match #5: Bob Orton Sr. defeated Ray Stevens
- Orton Sr. won this match against his enemy Stevens via his PILEDRIVER.
Match #6: EAWA Tag Team Champions the Valiants defeated the Double Axe Attack 2-0 in a best 2 out of 3 falls match to retain the EAWA Tag Team Championship.
First Fall: The Valiants go up 1-0 when Jimmy Valiant pinned Mr. Perfect via a foreign object.
Second Fall: The Valiants win 2-0 to retain their EAWA Tag Team Championship when Jimmy Valiant pinned Mr. Perfect via an atomic drop while also holding Mr. Perfect's tights for extra leverage. Normally fan favorites, the Valiants acted particularly heelish tonight during this match.
In the Ring: EAWA General Manager/EAWA Champion the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase with King Kong Bundy and the Iron Sheik who on the First Half of the show accepted DiBiase's offer for a title shot against DiBiase at Summer Slam.
- The crowd starts chanting "RVD, RVD, RVD, ........."
- DiBiase (to the crowd): "I'm here now to do two things. The first is sign up the Iron Sheik to our match for the EAWA Championship for next weekend's Summer Slam. The second is to celebrate last week's victory where I won the EAWA Championship and now I am the champion of my own ............!"
- The crowd interrupts DiBiase with escalating chants of "RVD, RVD, RVD, ........."
- DiBiase (angry and shouting): "You can cheer RVD, RVD, RVD all you want. But the fact is he isn't here and he won't be here. That contract he signed with MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino allows him to debut at his time and choosing. But there is also a clause that he must wrestle in a match by Summer Slam."
- DiBiase: "Well tonight, with only minutes left in our broadcast, is the final episode of EAWA before Summer Slam and there now also won't be a match on Summer Slam for RVD to wrestle in because the final spot for match involves me making my mandatory title defense against the Iron Sheik here and not against RVD. So RVD won't be able to make the terms of his contract which becomes null and void. So, once again, there is no RVD here and there will never be an RVD here ever!"
DiBiase: "Now where is Virgil with my champagne and contract for the Iron Sheik to sign?"
- The big screen on the Titan Tron then shows Virgil backstage pushing a cart with champagne on it. But right as Virgil reaches the intersection of two corridors, he is suddenly floored by a clothesline and then given a split legged moonsault right on the concrete from someone who has his back to the camera. He turns around to reveal himself- it's RVD, Rob Van Dam!
- The crowd goes nuts.
- DiBiase: "So RVD finally shows up. What is it, with your messages of Save Us RVD, Save Us that you're trying to save us from?"
- RVD: "I'm trying to save the MLW Universe from the likes of you DiBiase."
- DiBiase: "Well that's going to be really hard to do, since you won't have a job here. Your contract requires you to make your first match by Summer Slam and, with my mandatory title defense, I'm about to fill the final spot at Summer Slam with a match of me vs the Iron Sheik here with a contract signing."
- RVD (taking a piece of paper out of Virgil's pocket): "You mean this contract?"
- DiBiase's eyes suddenly get wide with shock as RVD takes out a pin and signs the contract intended for the Iron Sheik!
- RVD (holding up the contract with his signature on it): "DiBiase, it looks like I'll be wrestling you for the EAWA Championship at Summer Slam!"
- Then, as RVD cracks open one of DiBiase's champagne bottles and proceeds to drink it, DiBiase, Bundy, and the Iron Sheik react with outrage in the ring as the show comes to an end.
End of Show.
