cruefan68 , TTX , Pariah , bookerbill - Thanks for reading and following along! This next show is insane (and admittedly a little overbooked). Can things get any crazier before Final Battle? The train is rolling and about to leave the tracks!
Shane Taylor def. Will Ferrara by DQ
This competitive opener saw Ferrara go toe-to-toe with Taylor despite being dwarfed by the bigger man. Taylor started to run out of gas and tried taking the fight outside. In an unexpected turn, it was Ferrara being disqualified for not heeding the referee’s warnings. The fans disapproved of the call but it was Taylor’s hand raised in the end.
After the break, former ROH matchmaker, Nigel McGuinness, surprised everyone with an unannounced appearance. He was all business as he came out to the ring and requested a microphone. Nigel explained that he could no longer sit back and watch Ring of Honor suffer through the crisis of Punishment decimating the roster. He stated that he no longer had any power behind the scenes in ROH but those that do are allowing this situation to go on. He held up a piece of paper and said he was going to reveal who was responsible for what was going on.
Before Nigel could say any more, BJ Whitmer rushed the ring and clipped McGuiness’ knees from behind. BJ continued to punch and stomp Nigel as Kevin Sullivan and Damien Martinez came out. Sullivan picked up the piece of paper and scanned it a moment, then looked down at Nigel. “You’re just like the rest of them,” Sullivan accused, stuffing the paper into the pocket of his robe. Kevin looked to Whitmer and nodded. With manic glee, BJ jumped out of the ring and worked to clear and re-position the timekeeper’s table.
Kevin Kelly stood up at the announce position and called to the back for help. His commentary partner, Steve Corino, calmly watched the proceedings. It didn’t take long for Jay and Mark Briscoe to respond as they burst through the curtain. The rescue was suddenly cut short as Delirious ambushed them from a hiding spot at the side of the stage. He caught both brothers with the spray of his Red Mist, then took a chair to them. Will Ferrara returned and engaged Delirious and they stumbled back through the curtain.
Martinez had McGuiness by the throat, dangling, the tips of his dress shoes barely in contact with the ring mat. Frantic, Kevin Kelly looked to Corino. Steve still sat watching but now the dreaded Golden Spike had appeared in his grip, his thumb subtly twitching. “Steve!” Kelly shouted with alarm. At this, Corino stiffly stood up, Golden Spike firmly held at his side. “No! Steve! What are you doing?!”
At that moment, Sullivan looked to Corino. Steve stepped forward as if silently beckoned. He climbed into the ring and stood still as Martinez released Nigel, who fell to his knees. Sullivan looked to the Spike, at McGuinness, then expectantly at Corino. Steve looked down at the Spike in his hand. He drew back but suddenly turned, targeting Sullivan. Sullivan did not flinch. And with good reason. Martinez caught Corino by the wrist. He squeezed, making Steve wince and drop the Spike. Sullivan regarded Corino and disappointingly shook his head. “So, I guess it’s green,” Sullivan cryptically posited.
Corino started throwing blows in Martinez’s direction but Whitmer smashed him with the Golden Spike. Steve collapsed in the corner as blood began to stream down his face.
Sullivan resumed orchestrating Nigel’s doom. The ROH Legend suffered the ignominious fate of those before him - being slammed through the table at ringside with South of Heaven, delivered by the demonic Martinez. The building was silent save for the lamentations of Kevin Kelly. Sullivan commanded Whitmer’s attention and directed his gaze to Corino. BJ looked at Steve then back at Sullivan who solemnly nodded. Whitmer chased the panicked Kevin Kelly away from the announce table and set it up for a repeat performance from Martinez. A bloody Corino crashed through the table as Sullivan looked on with what could almost be considered an expression of regret.
Returning from the break, a semblance of order had been restored, ringside cleared of debris and broken bodies. A makeshift announcers table had been put together but Kevin Kelly was absent. In his place was Veda Scott, who explained Kevin had been relieved for the night. She made a snide comment about Kevin being too emotionally involved and how unprofessional she thought that was. Veda was joined by Ian Riccaboni. She did not seem too pleased by his presence and let him know it. “Ian, you’re only out here because it’s not my job to do commentary. And you can’t be left out here on your own. You have a habit of saying things you shouldn’t.”
Adam Page def. Hanson by pin
War Machine and Two Fisted have had a bit of a rivalry, in particular between Page and Hanson. This match was all Hanson right up to the finish when things turned on a dime. Page flipped things on his opponent by slamming him face-first into the ring post. The Hangman followed with a Rite of Passage for the easy three count. Not satisfied with the win, Page looked to dish back some of the punishment he took. His tag team partner, Joey Daddiego, joined him in the ring and they put Adam’s noose around the big man’s neck and tossed him over the top rope to hang. In a disgusting display, Daddiego used Hanson as a punching bag, jabbing him with body blows as he choked on the end of the rope. Ray Rowe came to the rescue, brandishing a what looked like a length of lead pipe. The Two Fisted duo ducked swings from the pipe as they fled ringside.

With a shot at the ROH World Championship on the line, anything can happen.
Also, new ROH World Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks, will be in action against Affluence - ROH World Champion Adam Cole and Matt Taven!
Adam Cole vs. Jay Briscoe double DQ
The main event saw Jay Briscoe make a fiery entrance with Delirious’ Red Mist still staining his face and body. He thought he would be challenging for the ROH World Championship but he and the fans in attendance were in for a letdown as Veda Scott explained that she had decided to let this remain a non-title match and that Cole had convinced her this was too big of a match for TV. Briscoe was agitated by this news while Cole repeated “convinced” with finger quotes and his familiar smirk. Ian Riccaboni began to question Veda but she shut him down right away, warning him to keep his mouth shut.
Briscoe tore into Cole, getting an early two count before the fight went to the floor with Cole seizing the upper hand. Adam got a near fall after a diving crossbody. The ROH Champion also worked a figure four leglock looking for a submission. The pair returned to the floor where things broke down into an uncontrollable brawl that saw both men disqualified.
Once the combatants were separated, Jay got in the ring and laid out a challenge. “We ain’t done, champ. You and me? Final Battle. We’ll finish this.”
Cole leaned against the announce table trying to catch his breath and said “No way” to Veda between gulps of air.
“It looks like we have a good main event in the making for Final Battle,” Riccaboni proffered.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself, Ian. Final Battle is still a ways off. And nobody asked for your opinion.”
