This time, the referee catches him and awards the Grappler the win by DQ.

Fuji regains control and hits the Banzai Drop for a near fall. Fuji tags in Saito and Saito goes to work on Race's legs. Race scores another near fall with the diving headbutt and follows it up with a Piledriver. Race has Saito beaten until Fuji pulls the referee out of the ring.
The referee restores order and Saito tags in Fuji. Fuji knocks Hennig off the apron and clamps the Fuji Nerve Grip on Race. Race can't make it to the ropes and is forced to tap out. Fuji & Saito will meat the winners of Atlas & Brunzell and Bockwinkel & Shane to determine the National Tag team Champions!
Johnny Valentine vs. Tommy Rich - National Heavyweight title tournament match! Rich takes control early on but Valentine turns the tide out on the floor. Valentine nails Rich with two Atomic Skullcrushers, busting him open and nearly winning the match. Rich battles back and hits the Thesz Press for a near fall. Valentine regains control and hits Rich with a third Atomic Skullcrusher. Rich gets a foot on the ropes and makes it to his feet, only to get leveled by a forearm bludgeon for another near fall.
The fans in the front row are yelling for the referee to stop the match as Valentine hits the fourth Atomic Skullcrusher of the match but again Rich gets his shoulder up. Valentine spits on the fans in the front row and hits a fifth Atomic Skullcrusher for the win. Referees help Tommy Rich from ringside as it is announced that Johnny Valentine will meet the winner of Blackjack Mulligan and Ivan Koloff on the next show to determine the first National heavyweight champion.
Tony Atlas & Jim Brunzell vs. Nick Bockwinkel & Bobby Shane - National Tag Team title tournament match! Tony Atlas and Bobby Shane start the match with Shane quickly taking the advantage. Shane and Bockwinkel utilize quick tags and wear Atlas down. Shane clamps on the Japanese Sleeper and it looks as if Atlas is going down. The referee drops Atlas' arm twice but before he can drop it a third time, Brunzell pulls him out of the ring. The referee calls for the bell to a chorus of boos from the fans.
Blackjack Mulligan vs. Ivan Koloff - National Heavyweight title tournament match! Koloff tries to attack Mulligan before the bell but Blackjack was ready for him. Mulligan sidesteps Koloff's turnbuckle charge and clamps on the Clawhold. Koloff has no choice but to submit.
Gary Michael Capetta annouces the double main event for the next Big League Wrestling event - Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito vs. Nick Bockwinkel & Bobby Shane for the BLW National Tag Team titles and Blackjack Mulligan vs. Johnny Valentine for the BLW National Heavyweight title!
Freddie Blassie vs. The Sheik Blassie takes the early advantage, pummelling the Sheik before opening a cut on his forehead with a bite. The Sheik smears his own blood on his chest and takes the fight to Blassie, turning Blassie's forehead into a bloody mess resembling his own. The fight spills out to the floor and the referee nearly disqualifies the Sheik for strangling Blassie with a microphone cord. Sheik throws Blassie in the ring and locks on the Camel Clutch but Blassie makes it to the ropes. The Sheik drags Blassie to the middle of the ring and clamps on the Camel Clutch again but Blassie again makes his way to the ropes.
Blassie, favoring his back, rolls out of the ring and the Sheik follows him. The Sheik bodyslams Blassie on the timekeeper's table, drawing the DQ. As the crowd boos, the Sheik motions to the back and his nephew, Sabu, hits the ring! The Sheik holds Blassie on the table and Sabu drives Blassie through it with a Moonsault!
As security and referees restore order, Blassie gets back to his feet and attacks the Sheik with a table leg. The local police join the mob and Gary Michael Capetta thanks the fans for coming as The Sheik, Sabu, and Blassie are handcuffed and escorted down the aisle.

Great opening card. Interesting pairings in the tag tournament and solid main event that will lead to bigger things. Hard to go wrong with Blassie, Shiek, Milligan and Valentine in the main event mix.

Thanks! I'm trying to branch out where tag teams are concerned. Tony Atlas mentioned teaming with Jim Brunzell in his book so I figured I'd give it a shot. I figure if I get duds as tag team champs, I can always hit the panic button and bring in the Road Warriors or the Kangaroos.

What a killer opening card Gun, the action in the Main Event was truly wild stuff and like in Cruefan68's LOW and now in your fed, the Sheik really is pulling me in as a favorite of mine to follow. I also like the Valentine versus Mulligan showdown, killer stuff...
