My (Tinkered) Rahl Ratings guide

I tinkered with Rahl’s rating. One notable is I think since the majority of offense is on Level 2, those – 3 moves should be higher than on Level 1. Bascially the only time I use this is when I introduce a new set, I’ll hold a super tournament with each active Legend (this helps with seeding).



I also use to help determine a point value with wins over an opponent (would seem obvious that a win over Harley Race should weigh more than a win over George South and a loss to Mr X should be penalized more than a loss to Buddy Rogers.



Level 1 Offense

+2 for each move – 3 (+1 if Add 1)

+2 if less than two (ag)/(pw)

+2 if only one move – 1

-2 if more than two (ag)/(pw)

-2 if three or more move – 1

-1 if move – 3 is followed by (ag)/(pw)/(ch X)

Level 2 Offense

+4 for each move – 3 (+1 for each Add 1)

-1 if move – 3 is followed by (ch X)

- 1 for each (ag)/(pw)

-3 for each move – 1

Level 3 Offense

+3 for each move – 3 (+1 if Add 1)

+5 for each FINISHER

+x for FINISHER amount

-2 for each move – 2

-1 if move – 3 can by missed/DQ

-1 if move – 3 is followed by (ch X)

-2 if FINISHER can be missed/DQ

Level 1 Defense

+1 for every 2 dazed – 1

+1 for each REVERSE – 1

+2 for each REVERSE – 2

Level 2 Defense

+1 for each dazed – 1

+2 for each REVERSE – 1

+4 for each REVERSE – 2

-3 for each down – 3

Level 3 Defense

+2 for each dazed – 1

+3 for each REVERSE – 1

+6 for each REVERSE – 2

+2 if lower than 2 down – 3

+2 for each point lower than PIN 6 (3)

-2 if higher than two down – 3

- 2 for each point higher than PIN 6 (3)

Interesting. Do you find that the changes you made change how people are ranked? Obviously your numbers are going to be different but does it shift people up and down in the rankings?

He or she would come up with one that assigned a numerical value to each component of a card, then enter all the cards into a database to assess their strength in each category based on deviations from the mean, then weight each category (e.g., Level 2 Offense is more important than Level 1 Offense) and sum the weighted Z-scores to determine who is strongest.

Are you open to constructive suggestions involving things like (c) placement and assigning points for various ch charts based on option strength as well as placement?
