I have always been interested in doing an All-Japan type Champion's Carnival with LOW. So this is my attempt at doing that....painful, maybe, but hopefully, a fun endeavor. It will consist of 2 Brackets with 9 wrestlers in each bracket. I will roll and post 2 cards a day between 26 - 29 Dec, Round 9 will be on 30 Dec, and the Finale will be on 31 Dec. The wrestlers in each bracket are positioned to have Round 9 be a "Rivalry Round." The 3rd/4th seeds and 2nd/5th seeds are the two "rivalries" that will highlight Round 9 in both brackets.
The only house rule that I will have for the Champion's Carnival is to roll DQs twice. 2 points will be awarded for wins by pinfall/submissions, 1 point for wins by DQ/Count-out, and 1 point awarded to both wrestlers in case of a Time Limit Draw.
Bracket A
(1) Bobo Brazil (2) Rikidozan (3) Nick Bockwinkel (4) Harley Race (5) Antonio Inoki (6) Lou Thesz (7) John Tolos (8) Mad Dog Vachon (9) Freddie Blassie
Bracket B
(1) Jim Londos (2) Giant Baba (3) Buddy Rogers (4) Frank Gotch (5) Johnny Valentine (6) Killer Kowalski (7) Bruiser Brody (8) Dan Severn (9) Steve Williams
My favorites for each bracket before any dice have been rolled are Lou Thesz in Bracket A and Frank Gotch in Bracket B. We will see how my predictions hold up.
The first 2 cards/updates will be posted later tonight. Let the dice roll where they may. Hope you enjoy.

Champion's Carnival: Round 1
Block A Bobo Brazil def. Mad Dog Vachon by DISQUALIFICATION. Rikidozan def. John Tolos with Overhand Chops. Antonio Inoki def. Harley Race w/ the ENZUIGIRI. Lou Thesz def. Nick Bockwinkel w/ the GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP.
Block B Jim Londos def. Dan Severn w/ the AIRPLANE SPIN. Giant Baba def. Bruiser Brody w/ a Piledriver. Buddy Rogers def. Killer Kowlaski w/ the FIGURE-FOUR GRAPEVINE. Johnny Valentine def. Frank Gotch in dominating fashion w/ the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER.
Champion's Carnival: Round 2
Block A Nick Bockwinkel def. Antonio Inoki w/ the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. Freddie Blassie def. Mad Dog Vachon after Vachon misses a turnbuckle charge and Blassie rolls him up for the pin. John Tolos def. Bobo Brazil w/ the FLYING KNEE DROP. Lou Thesz def. Rikidozan w/ a Double Wrist Lock.
Block B Giant Baba def. Killer Kowalski w/ the NECKBREAKER DROP. Jim Londos def. Bruiser Brody w/ the BOSTON CRAB. Steve Williams def. Dan Severn w/ the OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE. Buddy Rogers def. Johnny Valentine w/ the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE.
*Notes: The first 2 Rounds are in the books with a couple of surprising results, depending on how you look at it. Frank Gotch's loss to Johnny Valentine being the most surprising to me....not that Valentine won, but that he won in a dominating performance. Valentine won in 5 moves with 2 of those moves his ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER finisher. Lou Thesz vs Rikidozan was the best match of the first 2 Rounds. I will post updated standings tomorrow after Round 4 has been posted.

Champion's Carnival: Round 3
Block A Rikidozan def. Freddie Blassie w/ a Scoop Slam. Nick Bockwinkel def. Mad Dog Vachon w/ the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. John Tolos def. Harley Race w/ a Thumb to the Throat. Antonio Inoki def. Lou Thesz w/ the ENZUIGIRI.
Block B Steve Williams def. Giant Baba w/ the OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE. Buddy Rogers def. Dan Severn w/ the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. Frank Gotch def. Bruiser Brody w/ a Guillotine Choke. Johnny Valentine def. Killer Kowalski w/ the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER.
Champion's Carnival: Round 4
Block A Lou Thesz def. Harley Race w/ a step-over toehold facelock. Nick Bockwinkel def. John Tolos w/ the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. Mad Dog Vachon def. Rikidozan w/ the PILEDRIVER. Freddie Blassie def. Bobo Brazil w/ multiple kneedrops.
Block B Frank Gotch def. Killer Kowalski by DISQUALIFICATION. Bruiser Brody def. Buddy Rogers w/ the JUMPING KNEEDROP. Dan Severn def. Giant Baba w/ a fireman's carry slam. Steve Williams def. Jim Londos w/ the OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE.
*NOTES: I think the biggest surprise after 4 rounds is that Harley Race is still winless. Steve Williams continues to impress with victories over Giant Baba and Jim Londos. Antonio Inoki's win over Lou Thesz comes as a surprise to me as well. Speaking of Inoki, I haven't really used him in any LOW feds that I have done over the years but he's beaten two of the biggest names in LOW in Race and Thesz so far. Rikidozan was always my favorite of the Japanese founders trio and have used him extensively but Inoki will be getting a second look if I decide to turn this into a LOW fed.

I'm not much of a Legends player, but I like what you've got going here... very interesting to watch.

Champion's Carnival: Round 5
Block A Nick Bockwinkel def. Bobo Brazil w/ the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER. Freddie Blassie def. Harley Race w/ the SOUTHERN NECKBREAKER. Antonio Inoki def. Mad Dog Vachon w/ the ENZUIGIRI. John Tolos def Lou Thesz w/ the FLYING KNEEDROP.
Block B Jim Londos def. Buddy Rogers w/ the BOSTON CRAB. Steve Williams def. Frank Gotch w/ the OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE. Johnny Valentine def. Dan Severn w/ the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER. Bruiser Brody def. Killer Kowalski w/ the JUMPING KNEEDROP.
Champion's Carnival: Round 6
Block A John Tolos def. Antonio Inoki w/ the FLYING KNEEDROP. Harley Race def. Mad Dog Vachon w/ the PILEDRIVER. Nick Bockwinkel def. Freddie Blassie w/ a piledriver. Bobo Brazil def. Rikidozan w/ a Bobo body slam.
Block B Johnny Valentine def. Bruiser Brody w/ a forearm hammer. Dan Severn def. Frank Gotch w/ a bow and arrow. Steve Williams def. Buddy Rogers w/ a Doctor Bomb. Giant Baba def. Jim Londos w/ a Russian Legsweep.
NOTES: My biggest surprise so far has been Steve Williams. He beat the two biggest names in Block B in Gotch and Rogers. Williams is unbeaten at 5-0 so far in the tournament. John Tolos is another surprise with his successes as he beat Lou Thesz and Antonio Inoki putting himself in a commanding position heading into the final 3 rounds.
Harley Race continued troubles also highlight the tournament, even with his win over Mad Dog Vachon. Vachon has Harley in trouble several times and nearly won the match with his own version of the PILEDRIVER. Pre-tournament favorites continue to fall as Lou Thesz was beaten again and Frank Gotch loses twice today.
