*PHOENIX RISING DOES NOT REFLECT THE VIEWS OF SINCLAIR PROMOTIONS, PELF PRODUCTIONS, DIAMOND ENTERTAINMENT, OR ANY OF THEIR AFFILIATED PROMOTIONS*WHY SINCLAIR WHY???On Episode 107 of the National Wrestling Alliance Live from the American Airlines Arena in Miami Florida on January 13th, 2018 "Pure Original" Chris Sinclair cashed in the Championship Opportunity he earned when he and Trish Stratus won the abreviated Aloha State Mixed Tag Team Tournament to open the calender year. Chris Sinclair faced off against the reigning and defending Worlds Heavyweight Champion "The Future" Chris Sabin. The hard fought match saw both men pull out all stops and two referee's go down, including the senior NWA Official Jimmy Korderas. Shortly after Korderas went down Chris Sabin connected with a Cradle Shock and had Sinclair down and out when Veda Scott made her presence felt. Scott rushed from the backstage area and pulled out a wrench which she tossed to Sinclair while distracting Sabin. As Sabin turned around Sinclair blasted Sabin with the wrench and made the cover. Scott then revived Korderas who then made the three count and we know have a new Worlds Heavyweight Champion. The question is why would Sinclair accept Veda Scott's help? Following the match Sinclair even had Scott put the belt around his waist as the fans in Miami booed the new champion out of the building. Did Sinclair feel this was the only way he could win the championship? Which is weird considering the roll he's been on since last years King of Trios where he won alongside Bryan Danielson and Petey Williams. Sinclair followed that up with the win in the Aloha State Mixed Tag Tournament alongside his fellow Canadian Trish Stratus. I really hope that Sinclair gives an explanation for his actions in the next little while.

Why Sinclair, why? That pretty much sums up the sentiments of the last show... Has the Pure Original finally cracked under the pressure? After surviving the monumental betrayal by his close friend, Brett Johnson, it seems like he's finally gone off the deep end... Sure, this new malicious attitude, paired with a dubious connection to Veda Scott, has brought him the NWA World Championship one more time... But, there has to be more than just a title belt behind this sudden turn...
This episode brought other surprises as well... The Briscoes walking out on Elgin during their six-man encounter... And the quick surrender by Hanson to Bobby Fish without even giving his partner a chance to make the save... Need I say... Curious?
Some interesting developments... Can't wait to see where things go from here!

AND NOW A WORD FROM THE REIGNING AND DEFENDING WORLDS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONCHRIS SINCLAIR: A lot of you are wondering why I did what I did to beat Chris Sabin to become a five time Worlds Heavyweight Champion. My lawyer Veda Scott will now handle that.
VEDA SCOTT: My client simply did the right thing. You only get so many chances at the top championship in this industry and Mr. Sinclair and I met in Honolulu shortly after he and Trish Stratus won the 2018 Aloha State Mixed Tag Team Invitational Tournament. It was during that meeting that Mr. Sinclair decided to retain me as both his legal council and manager. On January 13th our planning went into effect as I helped Mr. Sinclair once again become the Worlds Heavyweight Champion. Also everything we did in that match was 100% legal and within the rules so none of you out there have a right to complain. Now if you would excuse Mr. Sinclair has to begin training for his next match.

LIVE FROM THE AMWAY CENTER IN ORLANDO FLORIDA SATURDAY FEBRUARY 10th, 2018 BELL TIME: 6:05PM EST The National Wrestling Alliance opens to show the New Reigning and Defending Worlds Heavyweight Champion standing in the center of the ring with his legal council Veda Scott. The crowd is booing them very loudly and get louder when Scott raises a microphone above her head. She waits for the crowd to die down before beginning. VEDA SCOTT: One thing that baffles me is how you can boo this man standing in the ring. Chris Sinclair has sacrificed more than anyone in this business. You all watched and laughed as he marriage crumbled before your eyes, you all cheered when his best friend of over twenty years stabbed him in the back before jumping to that other company. Do you know why Brett Johnson did that? He is afraid of Chris Sinclair he knows that Chris Sinclair is the better man. You should all remember this very simple thing if it wasn't for Chris Sinclair you all wouldn't be here. Chris Sinclair single handily took the National Wrestling Alliance from obscurity to the greatest promotion on this planet. The National Wrestling Alliance Commissioner then walked out on the entrance way. DAVID MARQUEZ: First off I have to congratulate you on winning the Worlds Heavyweight Championship for the fifth time Chris, but I have a problem with something that was said by your legal council when the two of you addressed the NWA Fans on NWAWrestling.com. Ms. Scott said that everything you did in that match was completely legal, well I take exception to that you. You knocked out Chris Sabin with a wrench, now that is far from in the books.SCOTT: If the referee didn't see it it didn't happen. That is plan and simple Mr. Marquez.MARQUEZ: Which is why I haven't stripped Mr. Sinclair of the Worlds Heavyweight Championship.CHRIS SINCLAIR: You can't strip me of anything David. You have zero authority over me.MARQUEZ: That's where you are wrong Chris. While you are one of the principal owners of the National Wrestling Alliance, the minute you appointed me as the Commissioner you gave me carte blanche over the in ring product, and seeing as you are an active member of the wrestling roster your in ring career falls under my authority. So this is what we are going to do. While Chris Sabin does deserve a rematch the new point system that the Championship Committee created doesn't allow that anymore. So I'm going to do the next best thing. On Episode 109 in Memphis Tennessee on March 2nd you and Chris Sabin will face off in a Non-Title Match if Chris Sabin picks up the victory then on May 20th during the NWA Homecoming Event Chris Sabin will get a shot at the Worlds Heavyweight Championship in a match up his choosing. Best of luck on March 2nd Chris.David Marquez then heading backstage leaving Scott and Sinclair to digest this latest development. The referee then hit the ten count ending this one at the 19:28 mark. Brodie Lee dominated this one as he brutally beat down Aries all over the ring and ringside area picking up near falls with multiple Big Boots and the package piledriver. Sadly for Aries in this one he just couldn't match the intensity Brodie Lee brought into this match as Brodie Lee cut off every single comeback attempt by Aries keeping the smaller constantly on the defensive. The end of this one saw Brodie Lee first connect with a Brodie Bomb inside the ring before tossing Aries out of the ring. Lee then followed him out and tossed Aries hard into the steel ring steps before hitting the Brodie Bomb and Big Boot on the arena floor picking up the count out victory in the process. "Knockout Artist" Chris Hero defeated "Lunatic Fringe" Jon Moxley w/ Percy Pringle III via pinfall when he caught Moxley with a Mafia Kick at the 13:26 mark. Just as the referee was getting back to his feet Moxley has taking the fight to Hero with a wild slugfest. Following the Blackout a frustrated Hoyt tried to come off the top rope, but the "War King" rolled out of the way from a diving elbow attempt. Kingston then connected with a pair of Sliding D's for near falls effectively ending any momentum Hoyt had started to build up in this one. The two men started brawling on the arena floor with Moose keeping the momentum and tossing End back into the ring and hitting a pair of high jump corner dropkicks. Moose then hit a short-arm clothesline only for End to roll out of the ring once again. As Moose followed him out Tommy End grabbed Moose and drove him hard into the ring apron. Tommy End then tossed Moose back into the ring and ended this one with the Owari Death Foot Stomp. At another point in this Strong had Gulak locked in the Stronghold, only for Paul Ellering to distract the referee moments before Gulak tapped out. Ellering once again tried to distract the referee following a Sick Kick, but Larry Dallas pulled him off the ring apron. Fortunately Drew Gulak managed to kick out. Strong once again locked on the Stronghold, and Ellering once again climbed onto the ring apron after he laid out Dallas with a brutal right hand. Strong released the hold and then connected with an Olympic Slam before ending this one with the Gibson Driver. "Man Beast" Rhino defeated "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams via pinfall when he caught Williams with a second Gore! at the 18:01 mark. Rhino nearly won this one in the opening minute when as he opened this one looking for a flapjack, Williams fought out of it and hit the O Canada! only for Rhino to block a backbreaker attempt. Rhino then hit a side belly-to-belly suplex and connected with the Gore! for a near fall. Williams slowly fought his way back into this one before reversing a toss into the corner. Williams then Rhino with a leaping forearm smash before hitting a Canadian Leg Sweep. "Maple Leaf Muscle" then went for the Canadian Destroyer, but Rhino fought him off and the two men tumbled to the arena floor. The two men then started going back forth for the remainder of this one as they brawled more on the outside of the ring than inside. The end of this one saw Williams come off the top rope with a missile dropkick before once again trying to nail the Canadian Destroyer. The "Man Beast" once again blocked the attempt and came back with Gore! for the pinfall victory in this match. "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson defeated Jay Lethal w/ Truth Martini via submission after locking Lethal in the Yes! Lock a second time and Lethal tapped out before Truth Martini could distract the referee ending this one at the 9:24 mark. Lethal and Danielson constantly went back and forth during this one as neither man could gain the advantage until Danielson dodged a springboard DDT attempt and caught Lethal with a roundhouse kick. Danielson then locked on the first Yes! Lock in the center of the ring releasing the hold just as Lethal was making his way to the ropes. Danielson then connected with a back suplex before once again locking on the Yes! Lock once again in the center of the ring and Lethal tapped out ending this one as Truth Martini could only watch on from ringside. "New Horror" Sami Callihan defeated "Architect" Tyler Black w/ Bobby "the Brain" Heenan via submission when Tyler Black tapped out to the Stretch Muffler at the 7:59 mark. Callihan opened this one looking for a chokebreaker only for Black to fight him off and connect with a reverse STO into the turnbuckle. Black then connected with the Curb Stomp almost winning this one in the first thirty seconds. Black then hit Callihan with a power bomb to the turnbuckle before climbing to the top rope looking to his a jumping knee strike, but Callihan ducked under and came back with a headlock driver for a near fall. The two then started brawling on the arena floor with Callihan connecting with a pair of brutal suicide dives before tossing Black back into the ring and locking on the Stretch Muffler for the submission victory. All Night Express (Kenny King & Rhett Titus) defeated the Addiction (Christopher Daniels & Kazarian) w/ Larry Dallas via pinfall when the caught "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels with a second One Night Stand at the 35:58 mark and Kazarian was prevented from making the save by Kenny King who caught him with an exploder suplex as Rhett Titus covered Daniels for the three count. The Addiction isolated and beat down Kenny King in the early stages of this with Daniels even connecting with the Angel's Wings only for Rhett Titus to make the save. That was some serious fast talking by the Pure Original's legal counsel, Veda Scott... But, Commissioner Cox had all the right answers and it's cool how he handled the situation... Can't wait to see the non-title encounter between the Sabin and Sinclair...
Some really great action on this card... Especially enjoyed The End's big victory over Moose to land himself in a top contenders match on the next show... Here's hoping he can duplicate that performance against Kingston...
Great stuff!
