Marchesa Hall & Theater; Austin TX
(Airdate: 21 Feb 2013)
....We fade up on Brandon Stroud and Eamon Patton at ringside as they welcome the viewing audience, both at home and in the arena, to 'Crowning of a Champion'....Both Lance Archer and Barbi Hayden are in the building as they speculate if those two are going to get involved in the matches their nemisis' are in....They run down the card but the big one decides the 1st-ever Inspire Pro Champion....Let's go to the ring....--In the opener, the
Beaver Boys faced the
Bravado Brothers for the second consecutive week as
Alex Reynolds/John Silver took that first match from the
Harlem/Lancelot. In what turned out to be an excellent opening match with tons of nearfalls, the Beaver Boys win their 2nd straight over the Bravados with DOUBLE PENETRATION. Brief handshakes are exchanged as the arena crowd applaud the efforts of both teams.
--We come back from a commercial break with the
Dark Menace in the ring touting the greatness that is
'Dirty' Andy Dalton and how Dalton is going to re-injure
Rex Havoc in this match.
Dark Menace taunts Rex Havoc to start the match allowing Andy Dalton to blindside Havoc. Dalton controls the early portion of the match as he works on Havoc's neck. The announcers wonder aloud if Havoc came back to soon in what was deemed a serious neck injury. Dalton hits the PILEDRIVER but somehow Havoc gets a shoulder up. Havoc reverses a T-bone suplex into a ring shaking spinebuster for a big nearfall.
However, Havoc's advantage is short lived as Dark Menace hops on the ring apron for the distraction. As he's arguing with the referee, DM tosses his cane to Dalton and Dalton breaks it over the head of the charging Havoc. A seated neckbreaker is the final straw as Dalton picks up the victory.
....From there, we go backstage as Rhino & the Young Bucks are guarding the dressing room door of AJ Styles....Lance Hoyt walks up who gets right in Rhino's face....The two behemoths just stand there not saying a word when Lance reaches out and grabs Matt Jackson, who along with his brother had been taunting Lance in the corners of the frame, by the neck....Lance hoists Matt up and spins 180 degrees before choke slamming Matt through a nearby table....The pop from the crowd is huge as Nick Jackson tends to his brother and Lance goes back to his stare down with Rhino as we go to commercial....--We come back from the break with what suppose to be our first 6-man tag match of the evening. However, the
Bullet Club refused to wrestle because of what transpired before we went to commercial break.
Lance Hoyt comes out and says the fans are going to see someone from the Bullet Club wrestle against him in this match. Lance and
Silas Young seem to have a minor disagreement as it seems Silas wants this match before
Rhino comes down and accepts Lance's challenge. We have ourselves a match.
The two big men go toe-to-toe before Rhino gets a clear advantage after Lance misses a running big boot into the corner. Rhino hits his big impact moves and scores nearfalls with a Death Valley Driver, a running powerslam, and a release powerbomb in quick succession.
Lance is in trouble at this point as Rhino sets up for his finisher. As Rhino launches himself to deliver GORE!, Silas Young steps in front of the move causing Rhino to flatten both Lance and Silas with GORE! and the trio go crashing to the arena floor. Rhino has enough wits to pull Lance into the ring but only gets a nearfall from the carnage. Lance looks like he's about to mount a comeback until
Nick Jackson comes to ringside and superkicks Lance in the back of the head. Rhino hits another release powerbomb to pick up the win.
--We come back from commercial after the carnage of our last match to
Barbi Hayden sitting at the announce table doing guest commentary for our next match between
Angelus Layne and
Jessica James.
Kimber Lee is out with Angelus and as you might expect, helps Angelus keep the advantage. However, Jessica is a tornado inside the ring as she hits Angelus with a quick JJ KICK for a nearfall and scores another nearfall with La Petite Morte. Kimber saves Angelus from certain defeat and allows Angelus to deliver a crushing full nelson bomb for a nearfall. Once again, despite the odds, Jessica fights back and lands her second JJ KICK of the match but Kimber saves Angelus once again by distracting the referee.
Angelus takes advantage of the distraction by delivering a crushing VICTORY LAYNE but the referee is still dealing with Kimber Lee. Barbi sneaks into the ring and drops Angelus with the HAYDEN HALO as Jessica covers Angelus for the win!!
Angelus is extremely irate at what happened as Barbi and Jessica head to the back with the fans delighted at what just transpired.
....We go backstage to hear comments from both our competitors in the Main Event....Ricky Starks says his Cadillac is gassed and ready and he's reserved the Reed Center on the campus of Texas A&M to host his celebration party as this draws boos from the crowd....He says Texas Longhorn fans would be thrown out of the building as he doesn't celebrate with them....
....AJ Styles talks about creating another chapter in his legacy by winning the Inspire Pro title....He's already the IWGP champion in Japan and he's going to add more bling to his already impressive array of bling....And if Lance Hoyt wants to stick his nose in his business....He's prepared for that too....--From there, we go to ringside as we get our first 6-man tag match of the evening as
Veda Scott leads
War Machine/Tommy End to the ring to face
Dark Menace Forces. War Machine has proven to be the top dogs in the
Inspire Pro tag division in the early history of the promotion. The DMF team of
Rocky Reynolds/MK Rayne are looking for a little revenge as is Tommy End against DMF's
Benett Cole.
Veda's men started out strong and controlled early and often as Hanson/Rowe put the boots to Rocky Reynolds. However, MK Rayne was able to far better against War Machine and got a strong nearfall on Rowe with a Hanuken. Tommy End gets tagged in and he cleans house before demanding Benett Cole face him.
Tommy beats Benett from pillar-to-post getting near falls from Nephilim and an Elohim Combo. Tommy climbs the top turnbuckle for his OWARI DEATH FOOT STOMP finisher but gets low-blowed by MK Rayne. Tommy falls right into the BLACKOUT by Cole for the finish.
Dark Menace struts afterwards and tells Veda if she wants to deal with a "real man," she knows where to find him.
--We come back from commercial for the
Main Event as
AJ Styles and
Ricky Starks vie to become the 1st-ever
Inspire Pro Champion. We get "Michael Buffer-ish" introductions from
Brandon Stroud as the
Bullet Club minus
Matt Jackson accompanies their leader to the ring.
Pinkie Sanchez comes out with Starks and not far behind is
Lance Hoyt and
Silas Young. Somehow, this match may have just turned into a Lumberjack Match!
Very few people actually gave Ricky Starks a chance in this match, the matchmaker included, but it was Starks who pressed the advantage early. The two trade nearfalls with Starks hitting a famous Amos and AJ responding with a Phenomenal DDT. AJ used a distraction from
Nick Jackson and dropped Ricky with a Pele Kick for another nearfall. From then on, AJ was ruthless and clearly could see the match ending coming. AJ dropped Ricky with another Pele Kick and got nearfalls with a third Pele Kick, a Rack Bomb, and a discus lariat.
AJ was getting frustrated by not being able to put Starks away. AJ climbed the buckles but missed a moonsault and Starks took over. Starks transitioned from an implant DDT into a Sleeperhold and locked AJ in a Crossface. AJ was able to get to the ropes but Ricky refused to break the hold until the referee almost hit the 5-count. Starks mockingly kicked AJ in the back of the head after releasing the hold which brought the ire of the Bullet Club. Starks was in the position AJ was 5-minutes ago looking to finish the match!
Starks with another implant DDT....BUSTER KEATON by Starks....AJ kicks out at 2....Another BUSTER KEATON....Again, AJ kicks out at 2....
Up until this point, the "lumberjacks" watched from ringside with little interaction except taunting each other and this match was well on its way to being a MOTY candidate....until all hell broke loose. Starks hits his 3rd BUSTER KEATON in a row and Nick Jackson pulls the referee out of the ring before he could make the 3-count!! The referee admonishes Jackson but gets caught in the middle of Starks and Jackson colliding and goes down. Jackson nearly takes Starks' head off with a superkick as Lance Hoyt enters the ring.
Big Lance picks AJ up and drops him with a F'N Slam and picks him up again and delivers a ring-jarring BLACKOUT that totally takes AJ out of the picture!! Meanwhile, a huge brawl erupts involving
Rhino and Silas Young and Pinkie goes after Nick Jackson. With Lance standing tall in the ring,
Matt Jackson sneaks into the ring and, together with his brother, nails Lance with Early Onset Alzheimer's!! Lance careens off the ropes for another EOS from the
Young Bucks that sends him flying over the top rope and taking out Silas and Pinkie. As the Bucks grab every water bottle at the broadcast table and pour them over AJ and the referee in an effort to revive them, Rhino crushes Ricky Starks with GORE!, sending Starks flying into the security railing.
As Brandon Stroud tells the viewing audience the show has ran over their allotted time but we are staying with the finish of the match, AJ has collected enough wits to drag Ricky back into the ring. AJ wastes no time and drops Starks with the STYLES CLASH as the referee makes the 3-count!!
We head off the air as
Eamon Patton tells the fans that the Bullet Club has just stolen the
Inspire Pro championship from Ricky Starks!! The last image we see is the Bullet Club helping AJ Styles to his feet and AJ thrust the title belt into the air in celebration....
Fade.
