Mat Mania Monthly - Vol 1, issue 1
RoH
RoH debuted on Wednesday June 10th with the first round of tournament to crown the RoH World Title. We saw Tommaso Ciampa upset El Generico. The next week was the finish of the first round. Jimmy Jacobs got past Silas Young thanks to the use of a spike. Something tells us Silas will not be happy about this. Also Adam Cole overcame the interference of Brutal Bob to beat Mike Bennett.
Week three saw the next round of the tournament as June came to a finish. Tommaso kept his unexpected path thru the tournament by upsetting #1 seeded Nigel McGuinness. Jay Lethal moved on thanks to a quick win over Adam Cole. Matt Taven struggled with Kevin Steen who dominated early. But thanks to outside help from Truth Martini Matt was able to get the win. Finally Michael Elgin moved on to the semi finals when Jacobs went to use his spike again but this time the ref caught him. Once the match was finished Silas Young ran in to attack Jimmy. These two will be tearing into each for awhile it seems.
July opened with the semi finals and finals of the tournament. Matt Taven had his hands full with Jay Lethal but avoided the loss thanks to interference not only by Truth but the Hotties. His opponent was Tommaso who rolled over Elgin. Before the finals we got Jimmy Jacobs vs Silas Young but not for long. Silas grabbed a chair and got DQ'd after pounding Jimmy with it. Then we finally had a RoH World Champion as Matt Taven, once again with help from Truth and the Hotties, defeated Ciampa.
The next week things really started heating up. The show stared with Lethal in the ring demanding a title shot since Matt had not beat him one on one. As he waited to hear from Matt and the House of Truth Tommaso Ciampa's music came on as he came out. He said while he understands how Lethal feels, he too lost due to interference. But he lost in the finals. As Lethal and Ciampa got face to face in the ring Truth Martini came out. He says if they want a match with his man, they got it. Each will get a match...TONIGHT. Sadly we quickly learned Martini's "man" was not Taven but new members of HoT. First Lethal faced off vs none other than Homicide. Lethal looked to be on the way to a win when Truth pulled the ref out to get the DQ for his man. As Lethal was yelling at Truth Homicide jumped him from behind. The two of them beat him down till security came to separate them. Later Ciampa faced off against new HoT member Rhino. It was obvious he was not ready to face the monster as Rhino got a dominating win. If that was not enough, in the main even Jacobs took on Young. Young got his revenge when he got the 1, 2, 3.
How did RoH follow up that hard hitting exciting action. With a tournament to crown a World Tag Team Champion. WGTT (Worlds Greatest Tag Team) beat American Wolves in one semi final and the Briscoe Brothers beat C&C Wrestling Factory in the other. That lead to a brutal back and forth in the final with the Briscoe Brothers coming out on top.
The following show began with the new Tag champs being interviewed when suddenly they were jumped by two large men who were later indentified as War Machine. As far as in ring action we saw Kevin Steen get a win over El Generico who was not happy about losing as they got into a shoving match after. In the main event Rhino, sans Truth, took on Tommaso in a losing effort.
The last show of July started with new tag team War Machine jumping C&C before their match and destroy them. After they got on the mic and said for some strange reason they were kept out of the title tournament. However they would get the belts real soon. From the size of both members and the vicious way the put down C&C does anyone doubt them? Steen once again beat El Generico then in the main event Taven defended his title against Tommaso. He won via DQ when Homicide came down during the match with a chair but before he could use it Tomasso took it away and let his temper get the best of him as he hit the champ.
August started with a shock as American Wolves upset War Machine. Before the loss could settle in War Machine found themselves face to face with Briscoe Brothers in the ring. It seemed the Brothers were telling War Machine they were not scared and not going anywhere. Next Silas Young got a quick win over Steve Corino. His hand had barely been raised in victory when Jacobs hit the ring and attacked him. At first Steve just watched but then he joined Jimmy in the beat down. The main event looked to be a good one as Lethal was set to face Homicide. It never got started however as Rhino assaulted Jay before the match resulting in a no contest. The HoT proceeded to beat poor Jay down. How will Jay get revenge for the actions of HoT.
The second show of August started with War Machine getting revenge for there lost to the Wolves by beating them. Afterward they were on the receiving end of a sneak attack as the Briscoe Brothers extracted some pay back by attacking them after. The main event was not for the purest as Lethal faced Homicide in a Fight Without Honor. Thanks to the use of a fork Homicide made Jay bleed and got the win. Is this the end of their feud...or just the start?
Next week opened with Ciampa losing in an upset to Bennett. After losing he just walked off upset. Steve Corino in a minor upset over Adam Cole. But he could not celebrate as Silas Young ran in to try and get his hands on Steve but Steve ran for the hills. In the main event the two big dogs in the tag division, Briscoe Brothers and War Machine, faced off with the titles on the line. The Brothers gave it all they had but came up short. Your NEW Tag Team Champions, War Machine. Got to respect a team who backs up what they say. They said they would be the champs and they did it.
Not to be outdone, the last show of August was full of action. It started with Rhino, once again without Truth by his side, came out to face Rhett Titus. What should have been an easy win for Rhino did not happen. Titus dominated and got the win. It was not easy though as he needed to hit his finisher THREE times. Next Young finally got his hands on Corino. At first it seemed he would regret it as Steve controlled the match but Silas fought back and got the win. Of course his enemies would not allow him to enjoy it as Jimmy ran in and attacked him. Young put up a good fight but the numbers were against him. The following match saw WGTT win over C&C. After the match they asked for the mic. They pointed out that the Briscoes never gave them a rematch so that means War Machine owes them a title match and they would be coming for THEIR belts soon. Finally the main event was a #1 contender match between Steen and Bennett with Bennett pulling an upset and coming out on top. Will Bennett be able to defeat Taven especially with the HoT there to give the champ support? Of course Bennett has Bob and Maria in his corner to neutralize the HoT.
Sept preview: We will see Bennett get a title shot plus RoH will have their first PPV, Glory By Honor.

NWA Georgia Championship Wrestling
They made their debut on TV on Saturday June 20th. They kicked things off with a semi final match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship between Don Leo Jonathan and Hillbilly Jim. Don got the won thanks to help from his manager Bobby Heenan. For those who have not followed NWA Georgia for awhile Don has taken over the #1 role in the Heenan Family from Angelo Poffo. Speculation it is due to Angelo getting a bit long in the tooth. And of course The Vachons, Butcher and Mad Dog, round out the Family. In the other semi final Masked Superstar was being dominated by The Sheik but got the win after The Sheik lost his temper and used a chair on Superstar. Before the finals in the main event we saw Koko B Ware square off against Cowboy Bob Orton. Things did not go good for the birdman as not only did he lose the match but after Cowboy took off his belt and gave Koko a good old fashion whipping. How will Koko respond to this? NWA crowned their World Champion in the main even when Don Leo pinned Masked Superstar. Heenan has his first World champion.
The next week saw victories for Midnight Express, George Steele and The Vachons before the main event, a rematch between Cowboy Bob Orton and Koko B Ware. Koko put up a good fight but could not pull out the victory. Once again Orton took his belt off post match and started to whip poor Koko. This time however he did not get far as Hacksaw Jim Duggan ran down and made the save.
July started with a tournament to crown NWA Tag Team Champions. The first semi final saw The Vachons make easy work of The Dream Team (Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake). Could The Heenan Family have double champions? The next semi final saw the Midnight Express (Stan Lane and Bobby Eaton) get the win over the Killer Bees. Before we would find out the champions we saw Hacksaw take on the Cowboy as he tried to get revenge for his friend Koko. Sadly it would not happen this day as Orton got a quick victory. The main event was a short one as The Vachons got the victory via piledriver and some pulling of the tights early in the match. Needless to say Jim Cornette was not pleased.
The rest of July saw some solid matches highlighted by Don Leo defending successfully against Mister X one week and then Mister X get a surprising win over The Sheik thanks to Sheik using a fireball on poor old Mister X. Also Cowboy Bob Orton got another victory over Hacksaw in a real good back and forth main event to close out July.
August started with Heenan in the ring to introduce the newest member of the Family. It was non other than Cowboy Bob Orton. Rumor going around is Bobby did this because Orton was quickly moving up the ladder and might have been in line for a title shot. So Heenan brought him in to protect his man Don Leo. Not to mention that Orton is a fine addition to the Family. Later in the card Masked Superstar got a win over Angelo's son Lanny. In the main event Midnight took on The Vachons for the tag tittles. They were on the verge of victory when Angelo ran down and got The Vachons DQ'd.
Next weeks show started off with a match between two heated rivals, Orton and Koko. Finally Koko got some small revenge as he picked up the W. The good times did not last long as once again Orton proceeded to give Koko a post match beat down. This time it was Bobo Brazil who ran down to make the save to a large pop from the crowd. After the match as The Family was discussing what happened in their locker room Angelo if his son Lanny could join The Family. Heenan only said he would think about it. The rest of the card saw Mr Fuji and Mr Saito beat the Killer Bees and Don Leo win a non title match over Les Thatcher.
Heenan kicked off the following weeks show doing an interview in the back. He said that after the main event tonight, The Family would have a new member. It was known that Lanny Poffo was scheduled for the last match so it looks like Angelo got his wish. The first match saw Mil Mascaras get a win over Mister X who still dealing with the aftermath of a fireball from Sheik wore bandages...over his mask. Oh that Mister X. Then Bobo Brazil tried to make Orton pay in a real good back and forth match but came up short. The main event started with Lanny in the ring waiting on his opponent. It was speculated it would be some bum when to everyone's surprise, no more so than Lannys, out came the monster King Kong Bundy. Needless to say Lanny did not fair well and lost, with Bundy demanding a 5 count. It goes without saying that Angelo was very pissed as the show went off the air.
We got no resolution to the drama in the Heenan Family next week as they were not there. We did however get some good matches that saw victories for Masked Superstar, Mil Mascaras over The Sheik no less and in the main event the Samoan Swat Team (Samu and Alofa) over The Dream Team.
August would end with one doozy of a card for the NWA. It started off with Cowboy Bob Orton once again getting a victory over Bobo Brazil. Then Hillbilly Jim picking up a win over Angelo Poffo. After the match Angelo went searching for Bobby Heenan in back. When he found him he started yelling at Bobby who looked petrified. Angelo asked where was his help in his match. No one had his back and it cost him a win. Where was the mighty King Kong Bundy. As if on cue King Kong came out of no where and leveled Angelo. Heenan got a sly smile and said "right there". Bundy than proceeded to kick the snot out of Angelo. Before he and Heenan left Bobby leaned in and told Angelo that he is now out of The Family. The main event saw a rematch for the Tag Team titles. Unfortunately things did not go good for Heenan as the Midnight Express beat The Vachons to become the new NWA Tag Team Champions. What a way to end August. What does the rest of the year hold for the NWA?
Sept preview: Will Koko finally get revenge on Orton? How will Angelo respond to be tossed out of the Heenan Family? And what are these rumors of a new tag team debuting next week?

AWA
Tuesday July 21st saw the return of AWA to TV. And what a way to return. Johnny Saint and Finlay went to a time limit draw, The Sheepherders beat those hippies everyone loves to hate the Love Brothers and Lou Thesz dominated Bob Roop.
July ended up with more good matches. Bryan Danielson lost to Bill Dundee in a real brutal back and forth that saw Bill control things early, Bryan fought back but came up short as Bill dominated the last part of the match. Then the Love Brothers lost to Hamilton Wrecking Crew (Chris and John Tolos). The main event saw William Muldoon get a DQ victory over Missing Link.
The first half of August saw good matches like Hamilton Wrecking Crew dominate The Sheepherders, Bryan Danielson scored a win over Dundee and Iron Sheik teamed with Nikolai Volkoff to beat Finlay and David Taylor. We also saw a promo for the arrival of King Harley Race soon. Yes the great Harley Race is bringing his hard hitting style to AWA.
The last half of August was more of the same. Good wrestling among some of the best in the business. Victories for Johnny Saint, Bryan Danielson, Freddie Blassie and Red Bastien plus Hamilton Wrecking Crew getting a quick win over The Sheepherders which did not sit well with them. Feels like the beginning of a heated feud. There was also another promo for Harley Race who will arrive in the beginning of September.
Sept preview: We will have the arrival of Harley Race and crowning of a World Champion.

NWA East Coast Wrestling
NWA:ECW made their debut on Monday July 27th. There presence on TV began with a special, Dawn of Destiny. The opening match was an instant classic between RVD and Sabu. After Sabu scored the victory he tried to shake hands with RVD but Rob refused and just walked off. That was followed by One Man Gang defeating Super Crazy and D'lo Brown getting a win over Al Snow. That all led to the main event that saw Kevin Sullivan getting a quick, dominating win over Jerry Lynn.
Next week saw Tim Donst beat Colt Cabana, Al Snow score his first TV victory over Val Venis in a short match, Adrian Street take the loss to Maurice Tillet in a vicious back and forth and OMG squash Chris Candido in the main event in under a minute.
The following week started with Super Crazy trying to get a rematch with the One Man Gang. Guess that just shows how crazy he is. After the opening match of Delirious over Crossbones, One Man Gang got a DQ win over Jerry Lynn thanks to Super Crazy who came out right after the start of the match and after stalking OMG ran in and attacked him. Lynn did not seem pleased to pick up his first victory in this manner. Things really heated up in the next match in a time limit draw between Naptown Dragons and the team of D'lo Brown and Val Venis that was a brutal back and forth affair. As good as that the main event surpassed it. RVD got some payback as he beat Sabu. When the match was over RVD forced Sabu to shake his hand. This does not seem over.
Thanks to his actions the week before the week started with Super Crazy being suspended for 2 months. The first match up was a rematch between Adrian Street and Maurice Tillet. Street got the win this time after Sullivan ran in and hit a DDT on Tillet when the ref was distracted. The question is why did Kevin do this? Next Chris Candido once again lost quickly. This time to the brute Bruiser Brody. After that Delirious defeated Tim Donst. Once the match was over a mysterious bald man came down to talk to Donst then he left. The main event had Al Snow beat Eddie Gilbert in a mild upset.
Next week had some craziness. OMG won the first match over Mr Y (who looked suspiciously like Mr X) fairly quickly. Colt Cabana faced off against Chris Candido but we did not get a winner as the cigarette smoking bad ass Sandman came down and took them out with a Singapore cane. What was behind his actions? D'lo and Val had a rematch with the Dragons and got the win. In the main event Maurice Tillet was going for a chance of revenge against Kevin Sullivan. Kevin was dominating Maurice but got DQ's when he got caught using brass knuckles.
August finished, both for NWA:ECW and the calendar, with some wild action. In the opening match Sandman got a win over Chris Candido. Early on it looked like Chris was finally going to get a victory but Sandman fought back and won after breaking a Singapore cane over Chris's head. Next saw Jerry Lynn and Colt Cabana team up against the exciting team of Young Bucks. It was a good match but the Bucks inexperience cost them in the end. OMG faced off against Tim Donst in the following match that saw lots of drama. During the match an unknown masked wrestler came down to watch the match. He seemed to have an interest in OMG. After OMG picked up the win, the mysterious bald man came out and talked to Donst. They then left together. The main event was an amazing match between Bruiser Brody and RVD. After some hot action RVD picked up the win. As he started celebrating the lights suddenly went out. A hush fell over the crowd as people wondered what was going on. When the lights came back on, Sabu was in the ring staring down RVD. Oh yes, this feud is only going to get better.
Sept preview: Who is the masked man that seems to have an interest in One Man Gang. And who is the mysterious man that Tim Donst left with?

Mat Mania Monthly - vol 1, issue 2 September
ROH
September started off with a wild violent match between Silas Young and Jimmy Jacobs in a Fright Without Honor. They tore into each other all over the arena with Silas finally getting revenge against Jimmy by picking up the win. Then the Briscoes picked up a victory over WGTT and the high flyer Matt Sydal got a shocking quick win over Adam Cole. In the main event Matt Taven defended the World title against #1 contender Mike Bennett. Mike gave Matt all he could ask for but came up a little short.
Next week, the last before the Glory By Honor PPV, saw the return of Tommaso Ciampa after his walking off frustrated after his loss 3 weeks back. He took on Kyle O'Reilly and dominated the match from bell to bell. The main event was a rematch between Adam Cole and Matt Sydal with the same results of Matt getting the win. Adam Cole has been on quite the losing streak of late.
On Sunday 9/13 ROH put on their first PPV:
Glory By Honor
1) Homicide defeated El Generico in a fast paced match. 2) War Machine put the Tag Titles on the line against former champs Briscoe Brothers. After a wild hard hitting match the Brothers won their titles back. 3) Roderick Strong picked up the win over Michael Elgin. Strong went to shake Elgin's hand after but Michael just walked off. 4) Silas Young took on Steve Corino in a Fight Without Honor where Jimmy Jacobs was banned from ring side. A bit over a week after getting revenge over Jimmy Silas was able to get it against Steve. And in pretty quick fashion to boot. To no surprise after the match Jimmy Jacobs ran down and joined Steve in beating down Silas. When it looked like Silas was in big trouble the crowd went wild when Kevin Steen ran down with a chair. Jimmy and Steve bailed from the ring and it looked like the worst was passed for Silas when suddenly Steen used the chair to hit Silas. Jimmy and Steve got back in the ring and all three stood tall over the laid out body of Silas. 5) WGTT went against the American Wolves. It was pretty one sided as WGTT kept Eddie in their corner for most of the match and dominated him. Then Davey Richards temper got the best of him and he went to far with a pin break and got the Wolves disqualified. 6) Matt Taven defended his title against Mike Bennett in a rematch from earlier in the month. It was a great match with much back and forth action and lots of interference for both wrestlers. In the end Homicide ran in to make a pin save for Taven and help him pick up the win.
The first show post GBY started with the HoT celebrating in the ring. They were all smiles till they were interrupted by a new comer to ROH. None other than the one and only Samoa Joe! Looks like Taven has a new challenger. The action started with a major upset. Mike Mondo won over Jay Lethal. It took Mike hitting 3 straight finishers. Shelton Benjamin took on Davey Richards in one on one action. Richards got the win but was not happy with just that as he assaulted Shelton after the bell and injured him. The main event was between Samoa Joe and Homicide. This was less a match and more a brawl. They were outside the ring and Homicide used a chair to pick up the DQ. Then Rhino ran down and helped Homicide beat on Joe.
The next week started with Samoa Joe taking on Rhino looking for some revenge. Unfortunately he came up short. After the match Rhino was in the back teasing Homicide for losing to Joe saying it was an easy victory for him. Is there some tension between HoT members. Later we saw the premier of great tag team Addiction as they took on Sydal and Generico. They had El Generico on the ropes and looked to get a win in their first ROH match but Sydal got the tag and eventually the win. The main event saw Silas Young take on Kevin Steen in a real enjoyable brutal back and forth match. Steen picked up the win and the other members of SCUM as they are now known came down to attack Silas.
The action level did not fade in last week of the month. The first match saw Michale Elgin in a rematch with Roderick Strong. He had an impressive win but as has been the trend of late he was not happy and decided to attack Strong. Before long to the shock of fans a new face ran down to the ring. None other than the phenomenal one, AJ Styles. No one knew at first if he was there to help Elgin or Strong but he made the save to keep Strong from being beat down. In another rematch Lethal took on Mondo. Lethal showed that the last match was a fluke as he hit his finisher early and won a very quick match. Nest Samoa Joe took on Homicide again and picked up a clean pin. The main event saw the Briscoe Brothers put their titles on the line vs the American Wolves. Jay was going to pin Eddie after a Doomsday Device and as Richards was going to make a pin save Haas ran down and stopped him.
Oct preview: Will Joe get a title shot? Why is AJ in ROH? What is next for SCUM? Who will win the feud between WGTT and the America Wolves?
World Champion - Matt Taven Tag Team Champions - Briscoe Brothers
NWA Georgia Championship Wrestling
The first show of the month starts with Koko standing in the back doing an interview. He says he is sick and tired of Cowboy Bob Orton but he FINALLY has found someone to not just beat him but finish his reign of terror. A shadow comes over Koko and he looks up with an evil smile. "Oh yes, your doom is coming Orton". What does Koko have planned for the Cowboy. The opening match was between King Kong Bundy and Lanny Poffo. Bundy got an easy win. After getting the 5 count he starts kicking Lanny. Angelo runs down and tries to make the save but then the Heenan Family runs down and attacks him and his son. After security comes down to break things up Lanny needs help to get out of the ring. He seems hurt real bad. After break the next match started with the Killer Bees in the ring waiting on their unknown opponents. The crowd was quiet but exploded at the first few notes of Ironman by Black Sabbath. The Bees are in big trouble as they have to face the meanest team in all of wrestling...the Road Warriors. And it turned out that way as the Warriors made short work of the Bees. It looks like tag teams in NWA:GCW are in for some bad times. Main event saw Cowboy Bob Orton take on Mil Mascaras. In a bit of a shock, more so than the arrival of the Road Warriors, Mascaras picked up the W after Heenan could not distract the ref and save his man.
An announcement starts the next weeks show that Lanny will be out of action till about mid October due to his injuries. Ted Dibiase beats Hillbilly Jim in the opening match. The Road Warriors picked up another dominating win over Fuji and Saito. Main event was a rematch between Orton and Mascaras. Once again Mascaras got the win but this time it was a shockingly quick win. After the match Koko came out and said that the reason Orton has been losing is because he is scared of what's in store for him. In two weeks Koko's investment will end Orton's pain. Who IS the man Koko hired to take on Orton?
The next show saw Masked Superstar win over The Sheik, Samoan Swat Team lose to the Killer Bees and Les Thatcher get a good win over Ted Dibiase. The main event was Don Leo Jonathan putting his title on the line vs Mil Mascaras due to his wins over Orton. Mil was dominating Don Leo and seemed on the verge of victory till Bobby distracted the ref. Don Leo did not hold the advantage for long as Mascaras regained control. Again he seemed on the verge of winning the World Title when Orton ran in to attack him and give him the win via DQ. Of course that victory is hollow as it did not come with the belt.
The last show of September started off with some bad news for the Heenan Family. Due to winning his title match by DQ the directors of NWA have decided Don Leo will have to defend his title next month...in NWA East Coast Wrestling. Bobby was not happy but his night was only going to get worse. George "the Animal" Steel started the action with a win over Mr X. Then part two of Heenan's bad night happened with The Vachons not only lost to the Road Warriors but were dominated. Ted Dibiase got a win in a rematch with Les Thatcher. The main event would see more bad times for Heenan. He lead his man Cowboy Bob Orton down to face the mysterious man that Koko had brought in to take him out. As soon as this man came through the curtains it was obvious why he cast a shadow over Koko a few weeks back. It was non other than the 8th Wonder of the World, Andre the Giant. Cowboy Bob Orton tried to look unworried and put up a good fight but Andre controlled the whole match and dominated him. Koko finally had the revenge he had sought.
Oct preview: Road Warriors will get a title shot against the Midnight Express. Can the Express defend their titles? How will the Heenan Family get back at Koko and Andre? And will Don Leo leave the East Coast with the title? Does Angelo have a plan to get back for his son?
World Champion - Don Leo Jonathan Tag Team Champions - Midnight Express
AWA
Harley Race made his debut to kick the month off. He got a quick win over Johnny Saint. Then the Love Brothers were dominating Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff till the fight spilled out of the ring. It was then that they went to far and got themselves DQ's. Both teams continued to brawl till help from the back came down to break it up. William Muldoon dominated Bryan Danielson early in the main event but Bryan fought back and got the win.
Harley opened things the next week with a win over David Taylor. Freddie Blassie got a pin on Red Bastien. In the main event Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff got another DQ win over the Love Brothers. This seems to be a feud that is heating up.
The following week Killer Kowalski opened things with a win over Missing Link. Bobby Shane and Bill Dundee teamed to take on The Sheepherders and got a surprising win pretty quickly. The main event saw Harley Race take on Freddie Blassie. Freddie was in control early but Race picked up the win. It was announced that next week would be a tournament to crown a World Champion.
In the first semi final match Freddie Blassie picked up an upset win over Buddy Rogers. The other semi final saw Harley Race beat Lou Thesz. The final was a great match between Race and Blassie with Race coming out on top and becoming the new AWA World Champion. After being handed the belt Buddy Rogers ran in and attacked Harley. Before the fight could get going refs came in and pulled them apart.
The last card saw Killer Kowalski get a dominating win over Playboy Buddy Rose. Next the Sheepherders got payback by beating Shane and Dundee in a rematch. The main event saw another rematch as Buddy Rogers took on Freddie Blassie. Rogers dominated and showed his superiority.
Oct preview: Race will defend his title against Rogers. There will be a tournament to crown Tag Team Champions. The feud between Love Brothers and Sheik and Volkoff will continue but will it end?
World Champion - Harley Race Tag Team Champions - TBD
NWA East Coast Wrestling
The first match saw Al Snow get a pin over Tim Donst. Tim snaps after and starts to attack Al. The mysterious man from the last weeks ran down to join in the attack. It is revealed he is Ares, a wrestler from many small promotions on the east coast the biggest being a fairly new one named CHIKARA. Adrian Street picked up a win over Delirious in the next match. The main event saw The Destroyer get a victory over Maurice Tillet. Afterwards Kevin Sullivan and Adrian Street ran down and joined The Destroyer attack Tillet. When they were done Sullivan took a mic and introduced his Army of Darkness.
Next week started with Larry Sweeney beating Eddie Gilbert. Then Ares and Tim Donst came out and announced they were now a tag team called die Jager (The Hunters). The losing is over and they are going to be the hunters from here on in. Their first match was against the Young Bucks. And contrary to their words, the losing continued. Sandman got a win over Crossbones before the main event. It pitted OMG against Sabu. During the match the masked wrestler came down to watch and then left after OMG picked up the victory. Who is he and what is his obsession with OMG?
The Destroyer picked up an easy win over Larry Sweeney to start the week. He celebrated with the Army of Darkness after. Next RVD took on Al Snow and picked up a win. The announcers seemed to think that referee Alfonso made a quick 3 count. The bad times continued for die Jager as they lost to the team of Jerry Lynn and Colt Cabana. Lynn and Cabana have been on a roll of late. The main event saw Bruiser Brody pick up a shocking quick win over Adrian Street. The Army of Darkness ran in after to attack Brody but he quickly grabbed a chair and held them at bay.
The final show of the month started with One Man Gang being attacked in back by the mysterious masked wrestler. We then have the opening match which pits Adrian Street and The Destroyer against Maurice Tillet and Bruiser Brody. The boys of Army of Darkness took the loss. It is then announced that the masked wrestler, named The Shard, will be taking on OMG in the main event. Jerry Lynn took on Chris Candido in a back and forth match with Chris getting his first win. Sandman defeated Colt Cabana. The main event saw One Man Gang take it to The Shard. They were brawling outside of the ring and used a chair over and over to hit the Shard which of course got him DQ'd. After wearing The Shard down he tore off his mask. OMG was shocked to see he was Super Crazy. So much for his suspension.
Oct preview: What is next in the war between OMG and Super Crazy? Who will get the honor of taking on Don Leo Jonathan for the NWA World Championship? Will die Jager finally get a win or will they just keep on losing?

ROH
10/7 AJ Styles kicked things off with his premier match against Michael Elgin. He put up a good fight but came up short. Next El Generico picked up a singles win over Adam Cole. Tag team action was next as Addiction earned a big victory over War Machine. Daniels and Kaz were excited after the match. The main event was one for the ages. Matt Taven defended his title against Samoa Joe. It was a good back and forth match. Joe started to control things and hit the Muscle Buster. Homicide ran down to make the save but to everyone's surprise he was stopped by Rhino. Joe got the 1, 2, 3 and became the new ROH World Champion. As he accepted the belt in the ring Homicide and Rhino brawled outside of it. Things are not going good for the HoT.
10/14 Before the first match it was announced that the new champion nor the HoT would be there this week. The action started with a great tag match between the Addiction and Matt Sydal and El Generico. It was a rematch from last month. After a bit Addiction had Sydal stuck in their corner and they were dominating him. But it seemed they wanted more to just win the match and Daniels went to far and got DQ'd. Daniels ended up giving an Angles Wings to Sydal on a table and Matt ended up injured. Tommaso Ciampa took on Jay Lethal in the following match. Ciampa dominated Jay and picked up the win. Lethal was not happy and stormed off after. The surprises continued as Rhett Titus got a quick shocking win over Kevin Steen in the next match. SCUM sure did not expect that as they were not there to help Steen get a win. The main event was a tag match between teams that hate each other, American Wolves vs WGTT. The WGTT picked up the win and after the Wolves left without shaking hands. This feud keeps heating up.
10/21 The show starts off with an interview of Samao Joe. He says he will be a fighting champion and no one, NO ONE will take the belt from him. It is then announced the first match of the night will be a quarterfinal match for the Top Prospect Tournament. We see two young hungry wrestlers go at it as Adam Page gets a win over Chris Sabin. A rematch is next as once again Rhett Titus scored a dominating win over Kevin Steen. This time SCUM was in the house and tried to get Titus but he quickly took off. Steen was not happy about losing. Adam Cole snapped his losing streak by getting the pin on Steve Corino. Bad night for SCUM. The main event was for the Tag Team Championship as WGTT finally got their title shot. It seemed they were not ready as the Briscoe Brothers hit the Doomsday early and got a fast win.
10/28 Truth Martini starts off with saying things have not been good in HoT but they will bounce back. Tonight his man Homicide will take on the traitor Rhino in a Fight Without Honor in the main event. The first match was another in the Top Prospect Tournament. Indy darling Paul London had a tough challenge in the monster Moose. It was one he could not overcome as Moose moved on. Jay Lethal got back on the winning path in a big way as he defeated former champion Matt Taven. So much for HoT getting ending their bad luck. In a rematch War Machine looked to get back at Addiction. Unfortunately things did not work out for them as Kaz pulled Hanson's tights and got the roll up win. Addiction ran off after to avoid an angry War Machine. Speaking of war that is how to describe the main event. Rhino and Homicide seemed to spend more time outside of the ring than inside. Homicide dominate most of the match and used his fork to make Rhino bleed. It was not long after that that he picked up the win.
Nov preview: Will Taven get the World title back? More Top Prospect action. Who will next challenge the Bricoes for the tag titles?
World Champion: Samoa Joe Tag Team Champions: Briscoe Brothers
NWA Georgia Championship Wrestling
10/3 George Steele took on Mr X again and once again picked up a win. Then Angelo Poffo came out and challenged Don Leo to face his son next week. His challenge was answered by Bobby Heenan who came out and said Don is not here as he is preparing for his title match in a couple days in NWA:ECW but on his behalf Heenan accepts. Next week Don Leo will take on Lanny and finish what the Family started a month ago and finish his career. Ted Dibiase beat Hacksaw Duggan next. Then King Kong Bundy took on Mil Mascaras and Heenan was not able to save his man from being pinned. Mascaras has been on a tear of late. The main event had the Tag Team Champions Midnight Express put their belts on the line vs Road Warriors. It would seem they might be former champs after tonight. And that is what happened. Road Warriors ran down, beat on the Express and continued to dominate after the bell winning fairly quickly. It seemed the Road Warriors were destined to win the belts from the minute they walked into NWA and now they have fulfilled that destiny.
10/10 The show started with announcement that Don Leo had lost the NWA World Championship in his match in NWA:ECW. The opening match had The Sheik beat Hacksaw Jim Duggan. The next match had Cowboy Bob Orton taking on the Families #1 nemesis Mil Mascaras. Orton not only got back on the winning ways for himself but helped the Family by defeating Mil. Mr Fuji and Mr Saito beat Samoan Swat Team. Don Leo came out for the main event first. Then Angelo and Lanny, who was on crutches, came out to the top of the stage. Don Leo told Lanny to hobble down to the ring and take his beating. Angelo then said Don wasn't facing this son. He was facing his OTHER son. The crowd went wild when out came the one and only Randy Savage. Heenan started freaking out at ring side. The bad times for Don Leo continued as he lost for the 2nd time in less than a week after Randy hit the flying elbow off the top rope.
10/17 The show starts with an announcement that due to the NWA World Championship being vacated (see NWA:ECW) there would be a tournament starting next week and finishing the following week at a special show title Halloween Havoc as it will be on Halloween. They show Don Leo and Heenan who are not happy. Bobby thinks the belt should just be given back to Don Leo since he should have never lost it in the first place. Koko B Ware opened things with his first match in awhile. He went against Johnny Valiant and got the win. Masked Superstar took on Ted Dibiase next and was dominating till Dibiase got in a low blow. Ted was in charge then and he got a quick win. Former tag champs Midnight Express beat The Dream Team. In the main event the Heenan family was looking for revenge as King Kong Bundy took on Andre the Giant. It was unusual to see Bundy be the smaller guy and by a fair amount. Andre picked up the win without much problem.
10/24 The first quarterfinal match for the World Title tournament saw Randy Savage get a quick, dominating win over Les Thatcher. Next match saw Mil Mascaras get a win over Heenan Family member Cowboy Bob Orton. After the loss Bobby was yelling and berating Orton. The Cowboy did not see happy as he walked off. A real interesting match up was next as Andre the Giant faced off against The Sheik. Andre of course was controlling from the start. Then Bobby Heenan came down to ring side. He distracted the ref and as he did The Vachons ran down and attacked Andre. This gave The Sheik the advantage for a bit but Andre fought back and got the win to move on. The final match saw Don Leo facing off against Ted Dibiase. The bad times kept on rolling for Don Leo as Ted was controlling the match from the start. Then King Kong Bundy ran down to try and help but only got Don Leo DQ'd. Ted moves on.
10/31 HALLOWEEN HAVOC This was a special long edition of the show. The Poffos, Angelo and Lanny went up against Heenan team The Vachons. They put up a fight for a bit but in the end The Vachons got the win. In the first semi final match for the NWA World Championship Andre the Giant took on Mil Mascaras. This was a brutal match that ended in an upset as Mil got the win over Andre. The crowd was shocked to say the least. In the other semi final match Ted took on Randy in a real good match that saw Randy come out on top. So it will be Mil Mascaras against Randy Savage in the main event for the title. Next the Road Warriors put their belts on the line against former champs Midnight Express. It was a great hard hitting match with lots of back and forth and near pins. Unfortunately it ended when Stan Lane accidentally hit the ref and got his team disqualified. Hopefully they get another shot because this was a hot match. In the last match before the final Koko B Ware looked to get some personal revenge against Cowboy Bob Orton as they faced off in a cage match. Sadly for the birdman it was not in the cards. After Orton scored the pin victory King Kong Bundy ran down and helped Orton destroy Koko. Finally it was time for the main event...and new World Champion. Mil Mascaras controlled the match from the start then Randy Savage fought back, hit his finisher and picked up the win. Your new NWA World Champion Randy Savage.
Nov preview: How does the Heenan Family respond to their run of bad luck and losing the title? Will Koko have another answer to Orton or is this war over? Will anyone be able to dethrone the Road Warriors? An announcement for NWA's first PPV.
World Champion: Randy Savage Tag Team Champions: Road Warriors
AWA
10/6 Bryan Danielson was pinned by William Muldoon to start the show. The Love Brothers beat Finlay and David Taylor. The main event was a AWA World Championship match between Harley Race and Buddy Rogers. It would be a best of 3 as all defenses in AWA will be. The first fall went to Buddy Rogers when he surprised Race early with a piledriver. The second fall was an amazing back and forth match but finally Rogers slapped on the Figure Four Grapevine and as much as he tried to fight it Race finally had to submit. Winner by a 2-0 falls count and new AWA World Championship the "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers. After the win Killer Kowalski and the Hamilton Wrecking Crew came down to the ring. Why where they there? It quickly became aware as they entered the ring and helped Rogers annihilate Harley Race. When they were done they each held up four fingers as they stood over the laid out body of Race and the show went off the air.
10/13 The show starts in a way how the last one ended. With Buddy Rogers, Killer Kowalski and the Hamilton Wrecking Crew in the ring. They held up four fingers as Buddy held up the World title in his other hand. He then took a mic and said this group is the most dominating faction in wrestling. They will lay waste to all who oppose them. They will cause a wave of destruction through the AWA as if they were the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and from now on they will be known as that. They are the Four Horsemen and no one can oppose them. First match sees Red Bastien pick up a win over Playboy Buddy Rose. Next Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff go up against their nemesis the Love Brothers. The Brothers pick up the W after Sheik uses a chair on both of them and gets his team DQ'd. In the main event Killer Kowalski beat Freddie Blassie in dominating fashion. Kowalski slapped on the Claw and Freddie broke out three times straight and then Kowaslski put it on for a forth time and there was no escape.
10/20 It was announced this show would be a tournament to crown Tag Team Champions. The first semi final match opened the action as enemies Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff took on Love Brothers. But it was not much of a match as it seemed both teams forgot what was at stake and only on their hate for each other. They pretty much brawled from start to the end when they got double disqualified. This is FAR from over. Because of the DDQ the other semi final match will become the finals by default. Next match saw new comer Magnum TA earn a victory over Lou Thesz. After the match Lou congrats Magnum. Then it was time for the main event and crowning Tag Team Champions. The Hamilton Wrecking Crew took on The Sheepherders. This was a nice hard hitting match with some close 2 counts. Killer Kowalski came down and interfered but in the end it did not help as The Sheepherders got the pin and the belts. After they did not get to celebrate as the Horsemen proceeded to attack them and leave them bloody and laid out.
10/27 Magnum TA got another win. This time over Playboy Buddy Rose. There was no feel good moment after as Rose just left in a huff. Bryan Danielson got a win over Muldoon in a rematch. Former World Champion Harley Race picked up a win over Lou Thesz in the main event.
Nov preview: What does the Four Horsemen have install for the AWA? Will The Sheepherders get revenge for the beating they took? What about Harley Race? Will Race get a rematch for the World title?
World Champion: Buddy Rogers Tag Team Champions: The SHeepherders
NWA East Coast Wrestling
10/5 The show starts with RVD being told he will be in the main event match facing NWA World Champion Don Leo Jonathan with the title on the line. RVD says, in his cocky way, "was there any doubt". The action kicks off with Eddie Gilbert taking on new comer Rich Swann. Rich picks up a dominating win as poor Eddie could not get in any offense. Next Bruiser Brody put a beat down on Larry Sweeney and picked up a win that was never in doubt. Tag team action came next as the popular Young Bucks lost to Jerry Lynn and Colt Cabana. Finally it was the match the fans were really waiting for. It was a good back and forth match that saw RVD pick up the win and thus become the new NWA World Champion. The crowd showed their approval even if they were not fans of the cocky one, RVD.
10/12 Sabu beat Crossbones in a fast paced opening match. Sandman defeated Val Venis next. Jerry Lynn and Colt Cabana were in tag action again but saw their winning streak end when they lost to Naptown Dragons in an upset. The main event was a match between Army of Darkness member The Destroyer and Bruiser Brody. Things did not go good for The Destroyer as Bruiser beat him up and got the pin. After the match RVD came down with the NWA World Championship. He talked about some of the great wrestlers from the past who held this belt. He says along with being great wrestlers and champions they have one other thing in common. They were BORING. He drops the belt and says he is anything but boring. He is RVD the most exciting thing in wrestling today. He does not want to be the NWA champion. He does not even want to be the East Coast Wrestling champion. He wants something wild, something exciting, something EXTREME. From this day forward the East Coast Wrestling will be known as Extreme Championship Wrestling and he is their first champion. He tells the fan to enjoy and they are welcome. Sounds like the game has changed.
10/19 The show opens with RVD in the ring with the new title belt for the ECW World Champion. He is talking about how this is a celebration for the greatest wrestler today. Suddenly the lights go out. When they come back on Sabu is in the ring and staring at RVD. He points to the belt as we go to commercial. The first match has Delirious going against new comer Rich Swann but things do not go as good for Rich this week as he takes the pin. Adrian Street goes over Al Snow in the 2nd match. Tag team action is next as two teams that have been on losing streaks look to get a win. Young Bucks face off against die Jager. One of these teams was guaranteed a win. It ended up being the Bucks. die Jager was not happy and they brawled with the Bucks after. The main event was a match between heated rivals as One Man Gang was taking on recently reinstated Super Crazy. The match was a wonderful back and forth affair. Then things got strange as someone dressed as The Shard appeared at the the entrance from the back. One Man Gang saw him and looked over at Super Crazy figuring this was his doing. The weird thing is Super Crazy was looking at this stranger with confusion on his face then looked at OMG and seemed to accuse him of being behind this. The match then continued and Super Crazy picked up the win. Soon as the bell rang this version of The Shard turned around and left. What is going on? Is it really Super Crazy behind this? Or is he right and is it OMG playing mind games?
10/26 Sabu took on Jerry Lynn to open things this week. It was a fast paced exciting match. Sabu got the win but not without some difficulties. Many of his early pin attempts seemed to fail due to a slow count from Alfonso. Also Alfonso kept Sabu from going after Lynn when Jerry was out of the ring but did not do the same when roles were reversed. After the match RVD came down to the ring and threatened Sabu but security kept them apart. The next match saw Sandman take a rare loss as he was pinned by D'lo Brown. Super Crazy took on Eddie Gilbert and was in control early. Then The Shard came down to ring side and distracted him. Eddie took advantage of the distraction and picked up the surprising win. After the commercial break Super Crazy is going nuts in the back. He is blaming OMG for this version of The Shard and costing him the match. An official comes out and says next week there will be a Triple Threat match between One Man Gang, Super Crazy and The Shard, whoever he may be. Well it looks like we will finally find out who he is working for. Next we have a tag match between Naptown Dragons and die Jager. In a bit of a shock die Jager hit their finisher early and got a quick win. Usually beating Naptown is not considered an upset but based on how die Jager had been doing it can be seen that way. In the main event Brusier Brody took on the leader of the Army of Darkness, Kevin Sullivan. The bearded beast had his way with Kevin and picked up the win. After the rest of the Army ran in and all three attacked Bruiser. He fought them off for a bit but the numbers game started to wear him down. Suddenly Maurice Tillet ran down to make the save.
Nov preview: Who is The Shard working for? We will find out next week. Will Sabu get revenge against RVD? BIG NEWS as ECW will have their first PPV titled November To Remember which will include a tournament to crown ECW Tag Team Champions. What else will ECW do to work their way out of the shadow of the NWA and become their own company.
World Champion: RVD Tag Team Champions: TBD

If anyone wants to leave feedback, here or via message, I would appreciate it. I am still trying to find my voice and best way to present things. So if you have any thoughts including things that are not working just let me know. Prefer if helpful comments, which I doubt they would be mean lol, but if not I can take it. I am thick skinned . I am doing it in this form for a couple reasons. 1) There are so many good feds out there that I had to find a way to stick out a bit. I decided to deliver it as a magazine to try and focus on story lines and results more than just the match itself. The reason takes me to... 2) I think there are so many good matches being rolled out there and I have some decent ideas. Some of what I do is take what has been done but give it a different spin. Like would happen in an alternative universal. But also some fresh ideas which will have some good ones in there. My hope is bring some enjoyment to some people reading and maybe inspire some other promoters. So hopefully you enjoy.

Mat Mania Monthly Vol 1, issue 4 November
What a wild month November was. We saw titles changes. We saw the NWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion make appearance in NWA Georgia Championship Wrestling. Oh and of course we saw a FIFTH promotion come to the airwaves. How will the year end? How will the next one start? Time will tell but for now lets look back at November.
ROH
11/4 The show starts off with another Top Prospect match. Young indy darling Brian Kendrick took on the high flying, high energy new comer ACH. The match saw ACH take control early and he seemed to be on his way to the next round. That is before Brain started to make a comeback and quickly hit his finisher to get the win. Something tells us we have not seen the last of ACH. War Machine coming off a lost to Addiction faced off against Matt Sydal and El Generico who had beaten the Addiction twice in recent history. So it would seem that War Machine might be in trouble. And that is how it played out as they could not keep up with the high flying team. Could Sydal and Generico be in line for a tag title match? AJ Styles took on Michael ELgin who he has had issues with. Each has a win over the other. The rubber match went to AJ in an exciting match. Finally it was time for the main event pitting HoT member Matt Taven vs Jay Lethal. Taven was caught off guard, Jay hit an early Lethal Combination and a short time later got the shocking pin. Truth Martini did not seem to have time to save his man. How will thie effect the World title picture?
11/11 It was announced that Samoa Joe would defend the World Championship against Jay Lethal in the main event. The final opening match of the Top Prospect Tournament kicked things off this week. First down was a towering man named Donovan Dijak. Next was a flamboyant entrance for one Dalton Castle. It included 2 young men wearing masks and carrying big feathers. Safe to say wrestling has not seen anything exactly like this and nothing close to it in quite awhile. It turned out there was more to Castle than just a flashy entrance but in the end he could not overcome the giant of a man that is Dijak. Personally we hope to see more of Dalton in the future. We had a tag match next between the Addiction and American Wolves. Kaz started the match and ended it as the Wolves never let him tag out. After Kaz was pinned, Daniels didn't bother to check on him but simply walked off. Jimmy Jacobs took on Rhett Titus next and was in trouble from the start. Rhett seemed to be on the way to a nice victory but thanks to interference from SCUM Jimmy was able to pick up the win. It was time for the Championship match. Things started off with Joe attacking Jay with some hard hitting moves. Jay started to fight back and then they traded some pin attempts. Suddenly Truth Martini came down to ring side. Was he going to mess up Jay's chance at the belt so that his man Taven could get a title shot. Both combatants had words for Truth then suddenly Jay hit Lethal Injection on Joe and almost picked up the victory. He stayed on the offense and hit a second Injection. Samoa Joe just barely got his shoulder up before the 3 count. He slowly staggered to his feet and right away Lethal hit a 3rd Lethal Injection but this time Joe did not get up. We have a new World Champion. As the ref handed the belt to Jay Truth Martini slipped into the ring. He walked up to Lethal and stared him down. Slowly Jay lifted the belt and then the scowl on both faces slowly changed to smiles. They started laughing and then Truth gave Jay a hug. Now we know why Truth came down, the HoT has a new member. And he just happens to be the World Champion. What will Matt Taven have to say about this?
11/18 The show starts with the HoT - Truth Martini, Jay Lethal, Matt Taven and Homicide in the ring. They were celebrating the fact that Lethal was the ROH World Champion. Lethal talked about Truth came to him before last week and said he would help Jay win the title if he would join the HoT. How he needs to learn there is strength in numbers. He could just not pass up the opportunity and what Truth said made sense. Then Truth says his House is stronger than ever. Everyone seems happy except Matt Taven. Tommaso Ciampa vs Silas Young starts the action. This was two tough men going at it. Hard hitting action that saw Tomasso come out on top. SCUM member Kevin Steen took on Adam Cole next. It was a terrific match that went back and forth. Jacobs tried to interfere while Steen had the ref distracted buy Cole fought him off. Unfortunately when he turned around he was ran over by Steen and soon after Steen picked up the win. AJ Styles kept his winning streak going by beating an over matched Mike Mondo. The main event was a #1 contender match for the Tag Team Championship between the American Wolves and Matt Sydal & El Generico. It was a good match with many high spots. El Generico hit a brain buster on the turnbuckle on Richards and seemed set to get the pin when Edwards ran in to make the save. Eddie went to far and got his team DQ'd costing them the title shot.
11/25 A title match for the Tag Team Championship is set for the main event. Then the action starts with a semi final match in the Top Prospect Tournament. Adam Page faced off against the towering Donovan Dijak. While it would see Donovan was destined to make it to the final that was not the case as Adam picked up a quick win to the surprise of everyone. Well everyone but Adam it seemed. Samoa Joe was looking for some revenge against the Hot next as he battled Homicide. It was a hard hitting affair that saw quite a bit of action outside the ring. Both guys came close to getting themselves DO'd. In the end Homicide was able to sneak in some dirty tactics as he used a fork to bust Joe open and soon after got the win. Want to bet we have not seen the last between these two? The next match saw Christopher Daniels in single action as he took on Rhett Titus. Daniels pretty much dominated Titus and got the win. After the match Kaz came out and asked Daniels what was going on. He said two weeks ago he just walked off and this week he scheduled a single match. He wanted to know what was going on in Daniels head. Daniels said nothing and simply walked off. What IS going on with Daniels? The main event saw the Briscoe Brothers take on the team of Matt Sydal and El Generico for the Tag Team Championship. The teams started off shaking hands and the match was on. As expected the Brothers used their strength to their advantage while Sydal and Generico relied on their speed and risk taking. Then what could be considered a minor upset Sydal hit the 450 and pinned Mark. We have new ROH Tag Team Champions. As they were celebrating War Machine ran down and attacked the Briscoe Brothers. As they were pounding on them the new Champions looked on as they decided if they should get involved. Before they could decide they were sneak attacked by the Addiction. So it looks like Daniels had a plan all along. The show went off the air with the new champions brawling with the Addiction as War Machine stood over the laid out bodies of the Briscoes.
Dec preview: How will Matt Taven get along with the newest member of HoT? Who will come out on top of the Briscoe/War Machine battle? Will the Addiction get the chance to be Tag Team Champions? Who will ROH World Champion Jay Lethal face at the 2nd PPV, Final Battle? And who will win the Top Prospect Tournament?
World Champion: Jay Lethal Tag Team Champion : Matt Sydal and El Generico
NWA Georgia Championship Wrestling
11/7 Hillbilly Jim pinned Boris Zhokov in the opening match. Mr Fuji and Mr Saito defeated Killer Bees in the next match. Then we had an interesting match pitting managers face off against each other. Paul Ellering took on Jim Cornette. Paul was in control from the start and on his way to a win when the Midnight Express ran in to attack Paul. Soon after the Road Warriors ran down and chased the Midnight Express and Jim off. We sure hope the Express have not bite off more than they can chew. The main event saw Mil Mascaras face off against Heenan Family member King Kong Bundy. Once again Mil got the better of one of Bobby's men.
11/14 Show kicks off with Mil Mascaras getting a victory over Mad Dog Vachon. Bobby was going out of his mind after. He is so tired of losing to Mil. Les Thatcher put on a wrestling clinic last as he beat Boris Zhukov. Masked Superstar and Bobo Brazil were in the next match and Bobo came out on top. In the last match Heenan Families top man Don Leo Jonathan took on Ted Dibiase. The match started off going back and forth but quickly Ted took control and ended up pinning Don Leo. Bobby started losing it again. He got in the ring and started yelling at Don Leo. Don Leo tried walking past him but Bobby wouldn't let him. He continued to berate Don Leo. Finally Don Leo had enough and he shoved Bobby. The rest of the Family ran in and started to beat down Don Leo. Heenan grabbed a mic and told Don Leo he was officially out of the Family and he better not cross their path.
11/21 Hillbilly Jim got another victory over Boris Zhukov. Next Lanny Poffo took on the wild man The Sheik. He had little chance of a win and he did not get one. Next Hacksaw Jim Duggan picked up a rare win. Against King Kong Bundy no less. Wow things keep getting worse for the Heenan Family. The main event was a Tag Team Championship match between the Road Warriors and the team of Mr Fuji and Mr Saito. One would think the Warriors would just keep on rolling over their competition but that was not the case. It was a great brutal back and forth match. The champs hit the Doomsday on Fuji and looked to get the win but Saito made the save at the last moment. Then Saito and Fuji cornered Animal and had some close 2 counts on him. Finally Hawk could not take it anymore and he came in to try and help his partner out. He ignored the refs warning and got his team DQ'd. Of course while Fuji and Saito got the victory they did not get the belts. If they get a rematch will they be able to get a clean win and the belts?
11/28 The show opened with a special guest. The NWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Giant Baba. A legend from Japan and a great wrestler. He had a non title match vs Angelo Poffo. They put on a great match with Baba coming out on top. The next match was between the Midnight Express and the Killer Bees. The Express was in control early and seemed to be almost playing with the Bees. Well as anyone who has messed with bees will tell you, if you are not careful you will get stung. That is what happened to the Express. Thanks to the Bees using their masks for some shenanigans they pulled a quick upset win. Cornette was so upset he broke his tennis racket when he hit a ring post with it. Ted Dibiase picked up an easy win as he took on Koko B Ware. The main event was a PPV quality match as World Champion took on the man he beat at Halloween Havoc to win the belt, Mil Mascaras. Things were not easy but Randy got the win. Mascaras had been on a tear as of late but could not get over the hump against Savage.
Dec preview: More from Giant Baba. How will the Road Warriors respond after their first real test in NWA? The first PPV from NWA Georgia Championship Wrestling as they bring us Starrcade.
World Champion: Randy Savage Tag Team Champions: Road Warriors
AWA
11/3 Four Horsemen member Killer Kowalski got a quick dominating win over Red Bastien in the opening match. He simply man handled poor Red. Next was tag team action between Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff and the team of Finlay and David Taylor. A good match that saw Sheil and Volkoff come out on top. The main event was a World Championship match between Buddy Rogers and Bob Roop. Buddy won 2 falls to none after making Bob submit to the Figure Four both times. After the match he took the mic and and was bragging on how unbeatable he is How he has no equal in the AWA. All of a sudden the crowd went nuts as wrestling legend Frank Gotch came out. He said Buddy has an equal in AWA now, him. He challenged Buddy to a match. All Buddy said was "get to the back of the line". How will Gotch react to this sign of disrespect? Will Buddy Rogers reconsider and give Frank a shot?
11/10 Young stud Magnum TA picked up another win when he beat Freddie Blassie via DQ. After the match they started brawling outside of the ring. It took a lot of security to pull them apart. The next match was a tag team battle that had a bit of a surprise. The Love Brothers took on another pair of brothers, Jimmy and Johnny. Until recent Johnny had been the manager of The Dream Team in the NWA Georgia Championship Wrestling. I guess he got tired of managing and decided to get back in wrestling. Unfortunately the match did not go how they would have liked I am sure. A short time after the bell Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff came down and attacked the Love Brothers. The ref ended up rewarding the victory to the Love's via DQ. Yep it sure looks like the war between Sheik, Volkoff and the Love Brothers is not over by a long shot. The main event saw recent new comer but wrestling vet Frank Gotch take on Bill Dundee. What should have been a warm up match for Frank turned into a struggle and eventually an upset loss. How will he bounce back? Because he will need to if he wants a shot at Rogers.
11/17 Harley Race picked up an easy win over Johnny Valiant in the opening offering. After the win he took the mic and issued a challenge to Killer Kowalski. Will Killer accept? The next match was a brutal affair. Bryan Danielson took on the Missing Link. Link was dominating the match when he hit Bryan with a chair shot. The ref missed it. But the ref did not miss the 2nd shot and he called for the bell. Bryan won but he sure was in no mood to celebrate. The Tag Team Championship was on the line in the main event as The Sheepherders took on the Hamilton Wrecking Crew. It was a real fine match and the Crew came close to winning the belts a few times but they came up short. Afterwards Killer Kowalski ran in to attack the Sheepherders. He did not get far as Harley Race ran down to make the save. Kowalski ran off before Harley could get his hands on him.
11/24 The opening match was a war as the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff took on the Love Brothers. The new age hippies were too much for the foreigners as the Love's picked up the W. They continued to attack their opponents after the match and chocked them with their love beads. Talk about irony. After order was restored and the Brothers left the crowd was surprised to see none other than the Mouth of the South, Jimmy Hart appeared on the screen. He said he is coming to and he won't be alone. He then said The Sheepherders are in trouble. Who is he bringing with him? Next came a rematch as Frank Gotch looked to bet back for losing to Bill Dundee. He controlled the match early and seemed on his way to doing that but once again Bill picked up the win. Perhaps Gotch has been away to long and maybe he just does not have it anymore. The main event saw Harley Race got one thing he wanted. He had a match with Killer Kowalski. This was a brutal match as both men relied more on hard hitting maneuvers than actual wrestling moves. Race started to wear down his giant opposition. He looked to have the pin but Rogers ran in and made the save. The ref looked to be about to ring the bell for a DQ but Harley talked him out of it. The match continued and before long Harley Race earned the victory. Rogers was upset but even more so when it was announced after that he would be defending his title next week against Harley Race. Sounds like another classic in the making.
Dec preview: Will Harley get the belt back from Rogers? Will Frank Gotch finally get a win or is his comeback over before it even begins? What is next in the war between Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff and the Love Brothers? Who is Jimmy Hart bringing to the AWA and will they be able to beat The Sheepherders for the tag belts?

11/2 Crossbones took on Rich Swann in the opening match. No matter how hard Rich tired his risk taking and high flying could not get him any offense going. Crossbones controlled throughout and would have garnered the victory but he started beating Swann down outside the ring and ended up getting DQ'd. Jerry Lynn and Colt Cabana took on Young Bucks in tag action next and picked up the win over the young team. They have really been on a roll. We had Sandman vs Val Venis in the following match. The Sandman used his Singapore cane and picked up the win. Val was not happy and they ended up brawling after. Then it was time for the much anticipated main event pitting One Man Gang vs Super Crazy vs The Shard in a Triple Threat match. First man to secure a pinfall or submission would be the winner. After the bell rang all three men stared each other down. Super Crazy got in The Shard's face then The Shard ran back a bit to bounce off the ropes and looked like he was going to clothsline Super but he ducked and The SHard hit the clothesline on One Man Gang staggering him. Then he hit a drop kick and started beating on OMG. Well guess that shows what most thought, The Shard is working with Super Crazy. OMG started to fight back but then Super Crazy joined the attack. After more double teaming Super Crazy hit a big move off the top rope and went for the pin. Then to the shock of all watching The Shard broke the count by attacking Super Crazy. Who was he with? What was going on? The Shard and Super Crazy then fought as One Man Gang recovered. The match continued like a classic Triple Threat match with each member out for themselves. In the end it was One Man Gang that got the pin on Super Crazy. After The Shard quickly left the ring. So now we seem to have as many questions, if not more, as when the match started.
11/9 The last show before the PPV November to Remember was filled with a lot of promos for the PPV. We still had some good in ring action. Chris Candido picked up another win when he pinned Al Snow. Then Adrian Street scored a win over Larry Sweeney. In the main event Sandman beat D'lo Brown. After his victory Val Venis ran down and started fighting with Sandman.
11/15 November To Remember PPV:
1) One Man Gang vs The Shard vs Super Crazy in a Triple Threat Match - This rematch from the beginning of the month matched if not surpassed it. It was an all out war with all three tearing into each other. In the end Super Crazy took the pin again but this time it was The Shard earning the victory. They tried to get a word from his after the match but he simply walked off. What IS his story?
2) die Jager vs Jerry Lynn & Colt Cabana in a semi final match for ECW Tag Team Championship - It would seem die Jager would have little chance based on their recent matches and early on that sure seemed to hold true. But they would not go down as they kept fighting back. Once Donst distracted the ref Ares used a foreign object of some kind on Cabana and ended up getting the pin in a major upset.
3) Young Bucks vs Naptown Dragons in a semi final match for ECW Tag Team Championship - The Bucks jumped on the Dragons early and never let up. They got the victory and move on to the finals.
4) Sandman vs Delirious - A good back and forth match that saw Delirious over come a couple shots of the Singapore cane and get the victory. After Val Venis and D'lo Brown ran down and jumped Sandman. They both hit their finisher off the turnbuckle and left him laid out in the middle of the ring. This will be a PPV he will NOT want to remember.
5) die Jager vs Young Bucks for the ECW Tag Team Championship - The good times continue to roll as die Jager pulled a mild upset over the Young Bucks and became the first Tag Team Champions in ECW. This was a true shocker.
6) Kevin Sullivan vs Maurice Tillet in a Falls Count Anywhere match - This was a wild brawl that went all over the arena and even spent a while in the back of the arena. Both men ended up bloody and Kevin Sullivan pinned Maurice in the first row surrounded by screaming fans. A truly crazy match.
7) The Destroyer vs Bruiser Brody - What looked to be a brutal fight as opposed to a wrestling match turned out to be just that. But what was shocking was the way The Destroyer dominated Bruiser. Then he slapped on the Figure Four and got Brody to submit. That is something that almost never happens. How will he respond?
8) RVD vs Sabu in the main event for the ECW World Championship - RVD took early control but Sabu fought back. He hit the triple jump and seemed to have the win but RVD kicked out. They fought outside the ring. RVD used a chair on Sabu then laid him over the barrier and got up on the ring apron. He went to give a leg drop on Sabu but Sabu moved and RVD crashed and burned. Sabu then set up a table between the ring and barrier, placed RVD on it and got back in the ring. After pointing to the sky he flipped over the ropes and drove both legs onto RVD driving him through the table. He seemed to do as much damage to himself as he did to RVD. It seemed that RVD might be done but he fought back and hit the 5 Star Frog Splash with a chair and got the pin. He was celebrating in the ring with his belt when a guy in a hoodie ran in and attacked him. After laying RVD out he pulled his hoodie off. It was former East Coast Wrestling wrestler TAZ!!! It seems RVD has a new challenger for his belt.
11/16 The first night after the PPV opened with Taz in the ring saying he has unfinished business with RVD from a little over a year ago and he plans on finishing it now AND get the World Title. He called out the first stepping stone on his path to glory. Out comes Larry Sweeney. It would seem that Taz would have an easy win but Larry was in control early. Taz fought back but Larry would not go down easy. But he did go down. Val Venis took on Al Snow next and earned a quick win by submission. A non title tag match came next. Young Bucks beat die Jager. Will this mean a title match soon? The main event looked to be a nasty brawl. Adrian Street took on Maurice Tillet in a Loser Leaves Town match. Tillet was planning on taking out the Army of Darkness one member at a time. This match was fought in the ring, outside the ring and in the crowd. It was obvious both men knew what was at stake. Tillet wanted this match but in the end we bet he regretted it as Street covered him for the 3 count. Maurice Tillet was done in ECW. But Adrian could not enjoy what he had just done as Bruiser Brody ran down and he and Maurice beat down on Street. They placed Adrian's leg in between a chair and as Maurice held him down Brody jumped off the 2nd rope and brought his massive boot down on the chair. Adrian screamed as his leg must have been broken. The Army of Darkness ran down but it was too late. Street was stretchered out. So it looks like both guys lost and will not be seen in ECW for awhile.
11/23 The show begins with Sandman in the ring. He challenged Val Venis and D'lo Brown saying he had a partner if they had the nads to do battle. They come out and accept the challenge. As they asked what loser Sandman had found to team with him the music of Tommy Dreamer started. He came out and the crowd popped. Sandman and Dreamer dominated and never let Brown tag in. After they got the win D'lo just slinked away. Next Taz faced off against Eddie Gilbert. Taz was dominating as he brutalized poor Eddie. He hit the Taz-plex and seemed to have the win but Eddie kicked out. Then he fought back and got a shocking win. The Shard battled Super Crazy in the following match. It was a high flying exciting match with Super Crazy coming out on top. After Super Crazy said he just beat One Man Gang's lackey. The main event was a Tag Team Championship title match between the champs, die Jager, and the Young Bucks. The Bucks had two previous wins with the only loss being in the finals for the belts. Well that was until they lost here. It seems die Jager know how to get the job done when it is most important.
11/30 Show being with a promo by Kevin Sullivan. He said due to being a man short and a bit in disarray the Army of Darkness was going into the shadows. Do not relax because you never know when they will strike again. Jerry Lynn took on Rich Swann in a match of high flyers. The experience of Lynn was the factor as he got a dominating win. Taz had a rematch with Eddie Gilbert next. Things went from bad to worse for Taz as Eddie hit a quick Hot Shot and got a shockingly quick win. One Man Gang faced off against Chris Candido what ended up being a squash match. After Super Crazy attacked One Man Gang. The main event pitted Tommy Dreamer against Val Venis in single action. Val had no more victory here than he did in the tag match. After Dreamers win the cameras went to the back where RVD said he wanted some revenge against Taz for attacking him and offered Taz a non title match next week. If he can beat RVD, which he is not capable of, he will earn a title shot. It looks like RVD has not been impressed with Taz's performance of late and thinks he can easily beat him. Time will tell if his ego is writing a check he won't be able to cash.
Dec preview: Will Taz be able to beat RVD and earn a title shot? Will the war between OMG and Super Crazy finally come to an end or be taken to even higher levels? And how will The Shard factor into it? Can die Jager continue to come up big when they need to?
World Champion: RVD Tag Team Champions: die Jager
