ROAD TO THE TITLE
Philadelphia, PA
March 22, 2120
Ring of Honor decides its first heavyweight champion with four-man action! Four, four-way elimination matches will take place. The winners will meet at Crowning a Champion and the last man left will walk out with the gold.
Adam Page def. Tadarius "TD" Thomas
At The Era of Honor Begins, Page and BJ Whitmer won the opening tag match and Page had fun running his mouth afterwards. In singles action, Page avoided early trouble on the outside of the ring and took over. Thomas fought hard but the Right of Passage put him away.
Charlie Haas def. ACH
Tag wrestlers locked in one on one action. Haas controlled the majority of the contest. ACH was hard to beat though the Haas of Pain did just that.
Pretty Boy Killers def. C&C Wrestle Factory
This was a barn burner of a match! Super tag team action. Taylor and Lee were on their game and really took over, but C&C fought them every step and had their own time hitting big moves. A double running splash put away Coleman.
The Young Bucks def. War Machine by D.Q.
Another great tag team battle that ended violently. The Bucks did what they had to - hit and run. They out-moved War Machine and were slowly doing the damage. War Machine got in some power moves but the Indytaker had Hanson on his back. Rowe interferred and War Machine just started throwing the Bucks all around the ring, ignoring the referee and the bell rang.
reDRAGON def. The All Night Express
ROH seems to be the place for tag team action! More tremendous work here. The Express were taking it to Kyle O'Reilly, but King got caught off the ropes and was pinned. The Express would not shake the hands of the winners.
ROH TITLE TOURNAMENT
FATAL FOUR-WAY ELIMINATION MATCHES
QT Marshall def. Matt Taven, Austin Aries and Silas Young
FATAL FOUR-WAY ELIMINATION MATCHES
QT Marshall def. Matt Taven, Austin Aries and Silas Young
The match got going with Evans squaring off with Aries. Taven took it to Young and used his Climax finisher until eliminating "The Last Real Man."
An incredible exchange of moves between Taven and Aries! The two went off the top with each man missing! Taven took a brainbuster but avoided the 450 splash. Taven's Climax eliminated Aries.
An unbelievable final fall and the first man to the final is determined! These two were non stop moves. Taven took over but couldn't get the three. R.D. Evans even stopped the ref's count on one occasion. Marshall found a way to stay alive and a powerslam planted Taven for the three! (Marshall 4 coins, Taven 3 coins)
Michael Bennett def. AJ Styles, Dalton Castle and BJ Whitmer
While Styles and Castle were going at it, Bennett took no time at all in beating Whitmer with a piledriver.
Castle went for the cover on Styles and was hit from behind by Bennett. Go Back To Japan then eliminated Castle!
After some back and forth moves, Bennett got the better of Styles. It took a little time but he was relentless and won with On This Day to reach the championship match!
Kevin Steen def. Tyler Black, Mike Mondo and Joey Daddiego
This one needed a little while for the first fall. Black and Steen fought while Mondo and Daddiego did the same. Opponents changed and Black and Mondo went back and forth. Steen destroyed Daddiego and won after the sharpshooter.
The next fall left all three men looking like they were on the battlefield. Anyone could have gotten a fall but it was Black eliminating Mondo with an STO into the turnbuckle. (Mondo 5 coins)
Steen fired up and took it to Black. He pummeled the former IWF champion before winning with the Sharpshooter. (Black 5 coins)
Shelton Benjamin def. Tommaso Ciampa, Chris Sabin and Donovan Dijak
Benajmain cleaned house against Sabin and almost got rid of him early. After Ciampa and Dijak went at it, Benjamin and Ciampa fought. Sabin pinned Dijak with Hail Sabin.
After a fight on the floor Ciampa beat Sabi with Project Ciampa.
The last two men tore into each other. Benjamin took control and won with Paydirt.
