Johnny Rocket’s Launching Pad ... Wolf
(The studio has received an upgrade with a new marble desk and stunning floor design. All in keeping with Johnny’s new celeb style and expensive tastes. Wolf is in the hot seat tonight after Thakur grants permission for Gladiators to appear. Lots to talk about but Johnny seems more concerned with trying to wind Wolf up and focusing on his flagging interest in the Civil War)
Johnny Rocket: “Welcome to my show. Try not get your dirty claws on my new furnishings. You haven’t got much respect for other people’s possessions have you?”
Wolf: “Howwwwooo! I don’t know what your talking about”
Johnny Rocket: “I saw how you smashed a framed picture of the Gladiators belonging to a fan right over Mayhem’s head in the recent Battlezone match. You’ve been doing that sort of thing for years. Your supposed to be a hero”
Wolf: “I’m not a hero, villain or anything else you want to label me as. I am Wolf and I come and go as I please. Where the action is where I want to be”
Johnny Rocket: “But that’s the big problem. You cannot be trusted or relied upon. Even now in the biggest feud the GWF has ever seen between the Gladiators you seem to be losing interest. You are costing the Legends team with your attitude”
Wolf doesn’t like that comment at all. Normally he would try and tear the limbs off anyone saying that but instead Wolf smashes his fists into the desk to help control his rage and then gives Johnny a dose of silent treatment. Johnny commands greater respect from his guest.
Johnny Rocket: “What’s the matter Wolf? I’m only speaking based on the facts. Look, I respect you. Honestly I do. You’ve achieved great things. But surely now is the time to be committed. The Legends are struggling and need you to be at your best for GALACTICON. The Ultimate Escape match is going to be huge. If your team loses it may mean they are too far back to recover”
Wolf: “Think carefully about what you say. Every match I go into I sweat blood. Whether it’s against my biggest enemies or guys lower down the card”
Johnny Rocket: “Well I guess that’ll soon be determined. Ok, let’s move onto the belts or should I say lack of. You’ve won titles but it’s hardly been a record setting amount. Do you not desire winning the Heavyweight belt again?”
Wolf: “Belts have never meant much to me. Feuds against the likes of Thantos, Bounty Hunter and Mayhem have always been the most important thing. They have all been tough opponents and I am proud to say I have beaten them all many times”
Johnny Rocket: “Well I haven’t got the win-loss records in front of me but I am not sure you’ve won all those feuds. Thantos beat you far more times than you ever beat him”
(Voice in the distance interupts ... "and I’m going to beat you next" ... it was Vengeance)
Wolf: “What are you doing here? Mayhem too cowardly to face me so he sends you”
Vengeance: “Nobody gives me orders apart from Thakur. I’m just here to create a distraction”
Wolf: “What distraction?”
Vengeance: “This one!”
Suddenly Overkill comes up behind. Johnny Rocket lets him past and then even hands Overkill a chair (although he later claims he was just offering up a seat and not a weapon). Overkill takes Wolf by surprise and tosses him powerfully into a wall. The fans are jeering but it’s not clear who they are mostly directing at, Vengeance, Overkill or even Johnny Rocket. It’s pretty clear Johnny is in on it and a hefty payment from the Gladiator Vanguard has found it’s way into his bank accounts. Johnny has definitely changed. He thinks is a celeb and has the most important job in the universe. Now he seems to be even favouring the villains. He sits smugly as Overkill and Vengeance close in on Wolf. Things looking desperate. Out of nowhere Amazonia runs to the front of the studio. Keeping her distance she yells something to Wolf and throws her shield towards him. Both Overkill and Vengeance turn towards her and Wolf moves swiftly. In a split second he clobbers Overkill with the shield and the big man topples. Overkill’s left leg twists and then gives way awkwardly as he crashes into the marble desk hitting his head hard on the edge. The impact would of knocked or seriously injured any normal person but Overkill (although obviously in great pain) is immediately trying to get back up to take on Wolf. Vengeance was quicker than Overkill to the see the danger and although he gets struck by the shield it’s not a clear shot. Vengeance moves swiftly to go after Amazonia but she has given him the slip. We don’t see Vengeance again after this.
The jeers have been replaced by cheers as Wolf makes a point that he won’t be pushed around by the Vanguard and is totally committed to the Legends. Overkill looks groggy and bleeding but hauls his huge frame back to its feet with the help of the marble desk that is responsible for his injury. He says nothing other than to point at Wolf and makes a ripping gesture with his hands. He also seems to have a leg injury as when he goes to walk off the set he stumbles to the floor again and has great difficulty moving himself. Wolf decides not to go after him. The pathetic departure seen as humiliation enough for Overkill. Although Wolf will soon face Overkill as part of a tag team match and at GALACTICON it all points to a singles match coming between them soon!
NOTE ... Although the Gladiators have this loose independent tag for the purposes of Civil War I see the Legends as being closer to a hero side in the way they conduct themselves and the Vanguard as the villains of the piece.

Card 644 – Mimas Spectrum:
Mayhem overcomes Janus to become new Heavyweight champ. Speculation that Morpheus would keep away from ringside to try and keep from making an enemy of the Gladiators but he boldly shows up and proclaims “I am not scared of the Gladiators. We are still the strongest team in the GWF and I can handle Thakur if it comes to it”. His boldness is in response to Thakur letting the Gladiators off the leash to pursue gold and ordering them to bring the titles into the Civil War conflict. Mayhem aims to please and jumps the gun by attacking Janus in the runway. Janus uses all his skills to recover from the difficult opening and looks like he would continue to thrive as the champ as he locks in GORDION KNOT. Mayhem suffers but somehow summons enough power to break free. From this point the tide turns back and forth but then Mayhem wins in shady circumstances. He uses one of his favourite moves, Mayhem Manslaughter, on Janus and goes for the pin. Morpheus is very close by and could easily of placed Janus’s foot on the ropes to save the title but chooses to do nothing. The Heavyweight title transfers over to the Gladiators but why didn’t Morpheus do anything? Maybe he is scared of upsetting the Gladiators after all or perhaps he did it for Chaos
Titan Death match, Vengeance and Overkill defeated Spike and Wolf in a huge Vanguard win. Wolf has been accused of losing interest in the Civil War and the late withdrawal of his blood enemy Mayhem from this match doesn’t help matters but his intensity didn’t reflect that. After a cagey opening he ramps it up. Overkill is injury ravaged after the amazing events last week on the Launching Pad and exacerbates a leg injury. Wolf goes after the injured area and sets things up for Spike to finish the job but the switchover takes too long. Overkill gets the hot tag and Vengeance puts some damage on Spike with Eye Cleaver. Overkill is determined to get back in the ring again but it appears to cost his team as Spike quickly gets the better of him and uses MEGADESTROYER. Looks all over but before Spike can make a pin attempt Vengeance rushes in and smashes him over the head with a blunt metal object that resembles a hammer. Overkill clambers on Spike and nearly pins him as a result. Incredibly Wolf is unable to assist as Thunder has come to ringside during all of this and conducted a blindside attack which triggers a brawl. Back in the ring Overkill senses a chance. He is almost hopping on one leg but hauls a bleeding Spike up and goes for TURNBUCKLE TRAP which is enough to polish him off. Amazing victory for Overkill but at what cost considering he can now barely walk
TOC belt match, Mandrill defeated Quasar by DQ. Some bogus reports that Max has been selected by Mandrill as his next opponent to put this non sanctioned unofficial version of the TOC belt on the line against. When Quasar comes through the curtain it sets off a lot of chatter about why Max isn’t facing him. Perhaps Max has no respect for this makeshift title or is trying to avoid Mandrill. Quasar doesn’t want to be seen as some second rate replacement and sprints down the aisle and hits Mandrill at breakneck speed. Mandrill struggles against Quasar’s speed but manages to fight his way out of a tight spot. He dupes the ref by throwing Quasar outside. As the Titan tries to get back by climbing onto the apron and jumping over the ropes Mandrill nudges the official into his path. Quasar takes the ref down accidentally and gets unfairly penalised
Chaos defeated Ursa Major. Chaos fed up facing what he calls enhancement talent when what he really wants is to be plundering riches like the Galaxian belt. Maybe Morpheus needs to take more care managing the affairs of his singles stars as he seems to be very much more focused on the future of his team. Younger talent like Janus and Superiority Complex getting more of his attention. Morpheus doesn’t seem to care much or is just doing a good job of looking relaxed about things as he nonchalantly chats on a comms device during the match barely looking at the action in the ring. If he had looked up he would of seen Chaos initially struggling against the young Titan. So much so that the Alpha Stone’s power fades before later restoring itself. Even then Ursa Major rattles Chaos with a cross body and has a pinning attempt. It’s not a close call as the kick out of Chaos sends him several feet in the air. The near humiliation finally awakens Chaos and now he starts manhandling Ursa Major. Worried for the young Titan and the beating he is now taking Trainer Jim decides to throw in the towel once he is caught in BOW OF DEFEAT. It was a gutsy move from Ursa Major to step into the ring with a monster like Chaos but showed he is better off trying to keep developing in the relative safety of tag wrestling
Lord Nexus overcomes Marcel de Sade. Titan tails are up over recent results but poor Lord Nexus is flagging. After a strong start and several near pins he slows down and is on the end of a heavy dose of illegal tactics. Somehow he is able to withstand the torturous THUMBSCREW twice. The fans are urging Lord Nexus to play de Sade at his own game but he is so noble he just cannot advocate that kind of behaviour and stoop to the level of a villain. Despite the difficulties Lord Nexus sneaks a victory by getting out of the path of a deathjump. Post match interview sees Lord Nexus freely admit he is slowing down but would rather lose than get a tainted win by resorting to heel tactics
Barbed Wire Cosmic Cage match, Brute beat Thunder. Rematch demanded by Thakur after last card. Thakur forces them into a barbed cage. Probably the most brutal match there is and then strikes fear into them by stating he’ll be at ringside to measure their performance levels. When he eventually appears a few minutes into the cage match a hush falls over the venue. Even Brute appears to hesitate. Worst thing he could do as Thunder instantly plants him straight into the barbed sides but he is made of strong stuff. Brute comes back and hits Thunder like a truck with BRUTE FORCE. Thakur seems happier with the intensity especially when Thunder actually kicks out of the subsequent pin attempt. By the end they have 6 tokens each and the blood is flowing. Thunder seems to of lost more and gets weakened. Brute is there with a Runsway Cannon to finish him off. The injuries among the Gladiator Vanguard going into the Aethran Ultimate Escape match at GALACTICON are mounting. Both Overkill and Thunder are now in trouble.

GWF REPORT (CIVIL WAR 2100 CARDS 641 - 644)
Champions
* GWF Galaxian Champ: Mayhem (Top Contender: Monad) * GWF Tag Champs: Sam’s Squadron (Top Contenders: Demons of Hydra / the Enforcers) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Soldier of Fortune (Top Contender: Vyper / Vengeance)
Latest News:
There’s lots to be happy about as incoming are two mega events ... GALACTICON and CHAMPIONS OF THE CENTURY ... both hurtling towards a cable operator near you. There’s also the countdown card to get the blood pumping. Cannot wait to see what the GWF will be cooking up to mark the occasion. There’s too many matches to list here but some of the notable ones are ... GALACTICON ... The Gladiator Legends and the Vanguard once again star in the main event with the brutal Ultimate Escape match only this time it’s being held on Aethra. Millions throughout the Cosmos will be glued to their screens to see the outcome of one of the most important matches ever. Although they are chasing in the Civil War standings the Legends are the favourites for the match after Wolf fought off Overkill and Vengeance in a planned sneak attack and left the big man badly injured. Overkill’s mobility has always been seen as his weak point and his leg injury will magnify this weakness even more. Inside a cage being able to move quickly is essential ... The tag titles will be the only belts being defended at the event which shows how the big feuds are overshadowing even the top prizes. Sam’s Squadron will be going against one of the Enforcers or the Demons of Hydra ... Chaos in a teaming mood as he chooses to partner other strong villains who are causing ructions in the GWF. On this occasion he teams with Mandrill to meet Colussus and Max Shield. Despite the high profile of the feud the battles between Max and Mandrill so far haven’t been classics. This is surely the stage to show everyone how intense this rivalry is ... 12 matches in all are getting booked so there is going to be lots of action and some huge feud matches ... COTC ... The first potential GWF music hit will release during the festivities on digital download. It’s already getting massive playtime. It’s called ‘the Ballad of Reptillo’ by the Cosmic Coasters and could take the cosmic music industry by storm ... Mayhem defends the Heavyweight belt against Monad. Both Chaos and Janus passed over by the GWF for the top contender spot. The Citadel guys are fuming over this. Chaos has thrown himself into a series of high profile tag matches to keep occupied instead but surely will not be long until he comes knocking on Commissioner Carter’s door demanding a shot ... Raven facing Spike as they reignite their classic feud. Spike wants to prove to Thakur that he can beat this guy whilst also battling in a Civil War. Raven also has a point to prove and taunts Spike by saying “I’ve been beating guys with paint on their face all my life. In fact I specialize in it” ... Chaos and Vigilante against the Gamemasters is a surprising candidate for the big main event match. Such an unusual teaming combination ... Other matches on the bill are US. Patriot-Dynamo, Thrash-Amazonia plus plenty more ... COUNTDOWN ... The IP belt will be defended here. At the moment Soldier of Fortune doesn’t know who he is going up against. It could be Vengeance or Vyper (again). He brashly says he doesn’t care who it’ll be and is confident of beating either opponent ... Dreadnaught touched a raw nerve when wrestling as part of six man tag match against Powerhouse. When Massif’s name got mentioned Powerhouse went crazy. Now Powerhouse wants a match with Dreadnaught on the Countdown card. Dreadnaught says only if Massif is brought into referee it. The ball is now in Powerhouse’s court. Will he agree to it? ... Up to 6 more matches will be arranged and they will look to lead in to the big supercard itself so there may be some Civil War related action.
Kati’s performances have not gone unnoticed. TWO victories over the Matador has got the locker room talking. He also beat both Star Warrior and US. Patriot last year. Kati has long held a burning desire to be more involved with the GWF tour and his dream may be about come true. Terak has offered him a trial on the Savage Kingdom team. With Stalker considering retirement in the next couple of years and Vyper fighting multiple feuds (the Hitmen and Masked Assassins) feels it is good time to look for reinforcements. Terak has told Kati that he needs to dial down on his his heelish behaviour when representing the team. Kati is honoured to be asked to help the team out and promises to give his all and make Savage Kingdom even more successful.
Destructon 3000 is full of beans over some of the recent results. His WAR team have been in a state of decline that can probably be traced back to the end of their feud with the Gladiators. Maybe motivation has been a factor. But things are headed in the right direction and as mentioned they have a big match at GALACTICON to focus on with Raven facing Spike. With Commander Sam and the FDF also watching WAR’s current feud enemies Entropy closely they have solid backup to help the team out should they need it. For now Destructon 3000 is confident his team is pointed in the right direction and politely declines the offer of assistance telling Sam to concentrate on taking down the Pillars of Power and keeping the tag belts (recently won by Sam’s Squadron) on the hero side. Sam is respectful but keeps the offer on the table, perhaps wishing his team had a more high profile feud this year.
Speaking of the tag belts, which are now wrapped around the waists of Sam’s Squadron, it has been confirmed that former champs the Enforcers and the Demons of Hydra will square off to decide the identity of the next challengers. The contenders match will likely take place before either GALACTICON or COTC with a view to scheduling the tag championship match at one of these big events.
Is Defender of the Realm ever out of the news? His latest theatrics saw him walk out of the King’s Court only to get ganged up on by Cannibal’s team once he was alone. Exo-King has too much honour to of stood idly by and rescued him with a courageous run in but Defender refuses to thank him. He is still after better pay but Exo-King will not be held to ransom. Upon hearing of the refusal to meet his demands Defender calls Exo-King a control freak and overbearing father suggesting even his own son, Jack, is unhappy. Exo-King says Defender is full of hot air. At the moment neither man will budge from the stand off. The irony of all this is that in the past couple years Exo-King has actually been plowing lots of the team funds into therapy and various help for Defender’s fragile mindset.
Morpheus is being hounded by journalists and is rubbishing rumours that both Chaos and the Matador are unhappy at the supposed attention being lavished on the other Citadel members. It wasn’t a particularly well kept secret that the Matador is unhappy but the news that Chaos is showing similar discontent is shocking (maybe the rumour of the Matador has substance as Morpheus is reported to be keen to wash his hands of a troublesome and overrated member whose performances in the ring have nosedived). Chaos has been wanting the Heavyweight belt but because Janus held the strap was considered forbidden to challenge for it. Chaos was even considering paying the Hitmen to do a job on Janus and injure him so he would drop the belt. Extreme measures were not needed in the end as Janus lost it at the last show to Mayhem. Chaos wants to be pushed as the top contender but Janus automatically thinks he deserves an immediate rematch especially considering the impressive reign he has just had. Morpheus has a conundrum. Who does he get behind? Since returning to the GWF as a manager in 2097 and assembling his super team he has been hugely successful presiding over title after title. But for the first time he is on the ropes and it will extremely interesting to see how he responds and juggles with all the big egos. If either Chaos or the Matador end up parting ways with Morpheus they would surely become the hottest free agents in GWF history. Normally Morpheus keeps a calm head but there are signs he is feeling stressed. A young reporter called Qualitar trying to make it for a low budget website gets a tip off on Morpheus whereabouts and tries to break a story but is met with an angered “stop prying into our affairs” and his camera equipment is destroyed.
Johnny Rocket fighting court battles as he tries to clear his name relating to Kronoscam. He is in deep water after losing his temper at a witness, he shouts “your barking up the wrong tree” and goes to scuffle with them before being restrained by law enforcement offices or the “Deimos Filth” as he affectionately refers to them. Days later he has another brush with the law for speeding offences whilst piloting his lavish cruiser near Mercury. In the wake of these unpleasant incidents Johnny loses his job as GWI editor after just a few short weeks in charge.
Another guy in trouble with the authorities is Vanity. Troubled by his womanising Maxine Babe goes on a stake out to watch his every move. When Vanity discovers this he confronts her and starts physically manhandling. Police all called but Maxine Babe refuses to press charges. Vanity is in a difficult place, women scorned, the authorities and even the Gladiators all watching him closely. Being the showman that he is Vanity probably loves all the attention.
Splatter back in possession of Arsenal. Having had the weapon confiscated the GWF has been forced to return it to him after legal action from the Hitmen was successful in retrieving their property. He cannot wait to get back to playing the lottery. Krakan being the tough taskmaster that he is has ordered Splatter to find new feud enemies for the Hitmen to take on and also places pressure on him to bring success into the team. He looks ahead to OTB and sets Splatter a target to win the Hardcore tournament.
TOC belt news. The GWF is still not acknowledging it but of course we have two champions doing the rounds and using it’s shows to put the belt over. Thantos is aiming to make a challenge to Mandrill in a bid to unify the title. Meanwhile Commissioner Carter has reacted by blurring the belts out on GWF broadcasts and promos but cannot do much about the live shows. He thinks it’s existence is devaluing the main titles and is against the idea of too many belts being in circulation, “my feelings are clear on the matter and I am working on ways to prevent the belt being a part of the GWF. However it’s not as easy as some might think to stop this. All I can do is reiterate that it is not a recognised title and suggest wrestlers do not sign matches relating to it. This maybe something the new incoming Commissioner will have to look into further in 2101”.
On a lighter note, Cycle Hog is a blob of discontent after attending a biker’s rally on Scutum and being chucked out and banned from ever attending again. He wrecked several bikes just by sitting on them and was also accused of stealing picnic items. Cycle Hog vows to beat the ban and come back to Scutum declaring a wish to open a restaurant there one day. He is saving all his money and tightening the purse strings to try and make it a reality.
CIVIL WAR WATCH - Gladiators off the leash and aiming to make all the GWF belts a part of the Civil War battle. Mayhem has already brought the Heavyweight belt into the mix and Vengeance is closing in on a shot at the IP belt. Massive matches are also on the way including an Aethran Ultimate Escape match. Overkill goes into them carrying injuries after the crazy scenes on the Johnny Rocket show. Wolf turned the tables on his attackers and may just have handed the Legends a crucial advantage for GALACTICON. Also on the injured list is Thunder after losing a brutal barbed cage match against Brute.
WHOSE HOT - Bishop Hell, Quasar, Thantos, Amazonia, Sam’s Squadron, the Gladiator Vanguard WHOSE NOT - Rising Sun, Ram, Dynamo, Vyper, Alpha Force, Vanity, Spike, Brute, Pillars of Power INJURED – Overkill (5); Thunder (5); SUSPENDED – none
Wrestler of the Month: QUASAR - Achieved hero status on Titan with an incredible one man show in the Battlezone match with the Brotherhood. His team were in a desperate situation with three eliminations when Quasar stepped into the ring. He picked off 5 opponents in a row to drag the Fighting Titans to an improbable victory. It was one of those rare performances that will go down in GWF history.
Tag Team of the Month: SAM’S SQUADRON - For capturing the tag team belts. Ever since they were assembled it was clear that Sam had found another winning formula and it would only be a matter of time. Justice proving himself to be one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time as he wins the belt with his third different team (the Squadron, Code of Honor and the Galacticops).

Card 645 – Mimas Spectrum:
Mayhem wins against Heracles in a non-title bout after hitting LEAP OF DOOM (+6). A solid battle but then totally forgotten as in a shocking turn of events the Hitmen make enemies of the Gladiator Vanguard team. Back in possession of his weapon Splatter wastes no time in putting Arsenal to work. Stunned silence as he emerges from the shadows and suddenly rushes at Mayhem. Before Mayhem can even process what is happening he gets levelled with a vicious blow. Mayhem hits the deck hard. Instinctively he tries to get back up but snags his foot on the bottom rope and falls down again right in front of Splatter. Another brutal strike comes down on him and Splatter keeps on pounding him. Mayhem gets to his knees a couple of times but then collapses face first as Splatter continues. It’s so savage that even Heracles tries to pull Splatter away but has to back off as Arsenal is swung in his direction too. Officials surround the ring but are forced to wait it out until Splatter finishes. When it’s over Mayhem is moaning but still moving around. He refuses help by flinging the assisting medics off him. There is blood dripping from his head as he rolls under the rope and falls out of the ring before crawling away from the scene. This could be a lengthy lay off. The Vanguard is being wiped out by injury ahead of GALACTICON
The Enforcers defeat the Demons of Hydra in a contenders match. Terak’s busy night continues as he comes into conflict with Darkos before the bell. Darkos lectures Terak for bringing dangerous animals to ringside and manages to give a convincing performance to the officials that they should be removed. Darkos thinks he has got the better of Terak’s team with this move but it makes no odds. Terak soon returns to the ringside minus the pets and the Enforcers are inspired showing that they aren’t letting their run at the tag titles go lightly. Wildcat thrills with WILDCAT STRIKE to beat Hydra and puts the Enforcers into the championship match. Stalker stokes up the friendly rivalry they have with Commander Sam and says the Enforcers have reached their peak and will reclaim the belts from his team. Sam knows how good his own guys are and regretfully informs Stalker that maybe age is clouding his judgement. He admits the Enforcers are a good team but in no way good enough to trouble the Squadron
TOC belt match, Mandrill defeats Thantos by DQ in a unification match. Mandrill wants to take possession of both belts and melt them down to create the Colonizer Championship. It doesn’t look like he will get his wish as Thantos continues rolling back the years in what has been a remarkable 2100 for him in singles competition. He is pretty much dominating but gets caught in a difficult scenario outside the ring after following a stumbling Mandrill. He can see Mandrill fiddling with his wrist and assumes that he is about to get zapped by VOLTAIC STUNNER. Quick as a flash Thantos slams Mandrill over a ringside table and loses by DQ. Whilst arguing the decision with the ref Mandrill revives himself and heads straight to the ring announcer’s table to take possession of both TOC belts. By the time Thantos realises they are missing Mandrill has long gone. Thantos says he will not be having a new belt made and that it is time to get his focus back on tag team wrestling
Ursa Major upsets Bishop Hell after SHOTGUN CRADLE. Ram is at ringside in a slave capacity as one of the previously unknown conditions of losing to Bishop Hell plays out. In a move clearly intent on trying to injure a dominating Ursa Major they hold him up for a double team attack. Bishop Hell traps Ursa Major in a full nelson and Ram prepares to charge him. There would probably of been a DQ but Ursa Major manages to expertly slip out of the hold just in time and Ram sticks his horns straight into Bishop Hell’s stomach. A move that may of been done accidentally on purpose. Ursa Major uses the opportunity to then hit Bishop Hell with his trademark move for another stunning Titan win. Bishop Hell is fuming as he gets himself to feet. He staggers for a few moments before firing up his hand right in front of Ram’s face as a warning. With the threat of being burned Ram backs off and drifts away from the ring. Bishop Hell then looks for Ursa Major but the youngster has slipped out the firing line. What of the Brotherhood’s fragile foundations now? The match of apology between Bishop Hell and Ram seems to of solved nothing. Unless he is stupid the Overlord will know it’s difficult to move forward from this. The internal bickering is costing the Brotherhood some vital matches and they are languishing in their feud with the Fighting Titans
Vengeance beats Vyper after a Gladiator Piledriver to become #1 contender to the IP belt. Overkill back at ringside but minus his crutch this time. The ref is only brave enough to take this weapon away but does not to banish Overkill. Terak is defiant at his presence and keeps himself in Vyper’s corner (now he has the Creeper back in a safe place). He is careful to keep his distance. Vyper tried his snake wielding tricks to unsettle the Gladiators but they are not phased. Phobias are a weak trait and don’t exist on Aethra (those that do show such weakness are quickly dealt with). Vyper gives a good effort but in the end Vengeance has too much for him. The Gladiators are moving dangerously close to successfully carrying out Thakur’s orders to bring the belts into the Civil War. A heated match for the IP belt against Soldier of Fortune now awaits for Vengeance
The Creeper wins against Thunder by DQ. This was a late amendment from a tag bout in which Overkill is given light duties as he tries recover from injuries. He fulfills a bodyguard role and uses a crutch. Thunder is also struggling as he still feels the effects of his loss to Brute in the barbed cage match. The Gladiators want to take no chances of slipping to a humiliating pin loss to the Creeper. Even when it gets a little bit of offense and (under instruction from Terak) propels itself off the ropes Overkill is there placing the crutch in position so that the Creeper collides with it. The ref misses it and Thunder takes advantage. But it’s soon clear the Gladiators care little for the outcome as they start to use the Creeper for tag double teaming practice. The ref calls the bell as Overkill steps over the top rope and they gang up on the Creeper. Both Thunder and Overkill, who has now discarded the crutch, continue after the announced decision with a brutal albeit brief post match beatdown which Terak is powerless to stop. All he can do is get the Creeper out of there as soon as possible. The Gladiator Vanguard using this match to show that even with injuries they are still strong and ready to face the Legends in this pivotal month. Side note, Splatter spotted skulking about near the ring entrance. He seems to be limbering up with Arsenal and is swinging it against a wall. Maybe he was planning to do something here but the sight of Overkill at ringside put him off.

***BREAKING NEWS***
Mayhem injured for 7 cards. The Vanguard in turmoil with Overkill and Thunder also carrying bad injuries. All of them planning to wrestle on through their various ailments but they all risk seriously aggravating their injuries. Also trying to pick up results at a crucial point in Civil War will be more difficult. Thakur isn’t the type to accept being injured as an excuse for losing matches. Things looking bleak for the Vanguard team. Commissioner Carter acts swiftly and suspends Splatter for 12 cards and also announced a record undisclosed fine. Splatter will miss the OTB Hardcore tournament as result. Was it worth it? Krakan knows he has to make allowances for Splatter’s crazed mindset but surely he needs to draw the line somewhere. How will the Gladiators react to what has happened versus the Hitmen?
Johnny Rocket’s Launching Pad ... Commander Sam
On this week’s show is Commander Sam. Comes out to a big ovation and proudly carries the American flag. No matter where he is or what the circumstances Sam always remains fiercely patriotic. After the last show which ended in carnage this one passes by much smoother. There are a few hairy moments as Johnny occasionally gets under Sam’s skin but tempers are kept in check. Sam mainly talks about some of the past successes in his career and also how proud he is of the Squadron tag team for becoming the champions so quickly. He heaps special praise on Justice who has tasted success with various partners. Calls him the greatest tag wrestler in history. There is one interesting point as Sam singles out Dreadnaught for criticism. Although he took his old adversary into the FDF it was not a good partnership. US. Patriot, in particular, found Dreadnaught difficult to work with. It all opens up a possibility of a match between Adam and Dreadnaught in the future. Sam also has stern words for Johnny himself, “what happened Johnny? You used to be cool”. He goes onto say he is watching his behaviour very closely. If Johnny carries on disrespecting people then it will come back to bite him. Johnny doesn’t like the way it is going and does his best to wrap the interview up after this. Sam doesn’t care and he steps off the studio stage and over towards the fans to shake their hands and pose for pics. One lucky teenager is handed the American flag which Commander Sam then signs..
Card 646 – CHAMPIONS OF THE CENTURY – Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
(The Cosmic Coasters open the show with a special performance of ‘the Ballad of Reptillo’ and the crowd goes mad for it. Generation X tries to crash the performance and play one of their own deafening Heavy Metal songs but the New Order comes out and knocks them off the stage. Mace and Dreggs high five and pose for photos with the band. It becomes the iconic thumbnail of the event)
Heavyweight champ, Mayhem, crushed Monad to complete a night of very quick matches. Doomsayer was confident that Monad could reap the rewards of Mayhem being both injured and also distracted by the Civil War. He spouts “the Gladiators are incredible specimens and I wonder how powerful they could be if they ever went through my TRANSEVOLVER but no wrestler can fight something like the Civil War and be a champion at the same time. It’s too much for anyone to cope with. My greatest creation, Monad, will triumph and become the new champion”. Within just minutes he is forced to eat those words as Mayhem makes light of his injuries and despatches Monad with ease. Monad steams into the action with arms going everywhere but it’s so clumsy. Mayhem isn’t the most technical of wrestlers but just keeps a safe distance and then picks him off. A Cranium Cracker then puts Monad down for the pin. Bit of a weak main event and Doomsayer now probably wishing he’d made the trip to ringside as if he had it might of gone on longer but in the back of his mind he was probably trying not to stir up bad relations with the Gladiators. The Vanguard still well on course to bring all the titles into the Civil War and continuing to show up the Legends team
Cage Match, Max Shield destroys Mandrill in just two moves. Nailing a Genesis Rocket Launcher Max darts out the door before Mandrill even knows what is going on. Mandrill brandishes Max a cheat and weak for choosing a cowardly way out of the cage. In the early stages of their feud he cannot get the better of Max and vows to change this when they meet again at GALACTICON. The fans are happy Max won but will be hoping for more from their next meeting. Their matches are just not delivering on the excitement factor and so far no single clash has been rated over 1 star
Cage Match, Doomsayer secures victory over Holocaust. Doomsayer could be forgiven for having one eye on Monad’s title challenge coming soon but he is vastly superior to Holocaust here and finishes him with FUTURESHOCK. Disappointment for the WAR team who will be surprised at how easy this was for Doomsayer. Destructon 3000 will now be pinning hopes on upcoming matches for Raven and New Order to try and pick be team up. Holocaust knows this wasn’t good enough and has promised to hit the gym and work extra hard on improving his skills
Brass Knuckles Match, Alpha Force teaches Janus a lesson with a very one-sided victory. Very little to shout about on Janus’s side as he only got GORDION KNOT on once for a brief period. That was literally all he offered. Alpha Force by contrast hits all his best moves several times. He also uses the knuckles very effectively and knocks Janus out with TOMAHAWK THRUST. The consequences of the result will push Janus further down the rankings. Like so many ex-champions before him Janus is now having to struggle through a lean spell. Chaos might be looking on with quiet satisfaction as Morpheus will have little option but to push him again as the main Citadel guy. Alpha Force revels in the win and shows he is back in the mix and can become an opposing force to Chaos’s obsessive journey towards a title shot
Falls Count Anywhere Match, Jack of Diamonds defeated Cycle Hog. Confusing start as the match begins nowhere near the ring. Jack spots Cycle Hog feasting on some last minute snacks near a burger stand and decides to get things underway. A ref is on hand to radio to the ring that the match is on and sound the bell. The crowd wonders what is going on until pictures are beamed onto the giant video screen in the arena. They see food and drinks going everywhere. Amid the melee Jack gets a hold of Cycle Hog’s burger and runs through the Deimos hall and towards the ring with it. Cycle Hog is chasing him as fast as his huge frame will allow. By the time Cycle Hog hits the ring he is gassed. Jack tosses the burger and hits him with DIAMOND CUT for the win
Titan Death Match, Thrash defeated Amazonia after FEMME FATAL. Not too much to say other than Amazonia makes most of the running but Thrash comes back for the victory. Disappointing overall, the fans expected more
Raven takes a notable victory over Spike. Some nervous energy with Raven trying to get back among the big guns and Spike needing to repair damage after losing several Civil War battles. Raven makes most of the running from the very start. Spike tries to unsuccessfully change the course by rolling out the ring in the hope of triggering a brawl but Raven doesn’t fall into the trap. With a count of ten nearly complete Spike is forced to re-engage inside the ring and finds the agility of Raven too hot to handle. He is lined up by the ropes and struck with BLADERUNNER causing him to fall back out the ring. Raven quickly bundles Spike back and pins him. Raven punches the air, the triumph means a lot to him and recent improvements have now pushed him into a high enough position to be realistically considered for OTB inclusion in a couple months (an event he has traditionally done very well in)
The Gamemasters win against Chaos and Vigilante. What’s this? Chaos in partnership with the Citadel so soon after being a lottery victim. It’s just another example of there being no honour among heels as they do what benefits them at the moment regardless of the history. Clearly Chaos signed the match looking for a big pay packet even though he doesn’t like the way Krakan operates and is reluctant to let him be at ringside. It’s also a warning shot fired to Morpheus. Plus he utters a phrase that gets thrown about a lot these days “common enemies”. Thantos knows only too well not to trust Krakan and hopes the Gamemasters can take advantage of the divide and distrust between their opponents. It’s good to see the Gamemasters back teaming again and looking to push themselves among the top contending tag teams once more. Soon evident Chaos and Vigilante are not on the same wavelength. Chaos ends up attempting to cast his partner aside most of the time and trying to do it all on his own. It’s the usual pattern of clamping on BOW OF DEFEAT at every opportunity. Thantos feels it’s squeeze numerous times but refuses to give in. Vigilante eventually forces himself into the action and dishes out POLICE BRUTALITY a couple of times on Star Warrior but fails to pin him. He then makes an error of judgement and argues with Chaos over tagging out. It allows Star Warrior an opening to take Vigilante down. Chaos is dismayed on the apron as the Gamemasters use ENDGAME on Vigilante. Showing no interest in assisting Chaos stays rooted to the spot but Vigilante proves his powers of endurance by kicking out right at the last moment. This is where the experience of the Gamemasters kicks in. Rather than dwell on their dramatic normally unsurvivable finisher not delivering Thantos gets straight back on Vigilante. He hooks in MASTERLOCK for an instant submission. Chaos has not even bothered to hang about by this time. Knowing it was as good as over he was already half way towards the exit regretting this ill fated link up. He said as much later in the show stating Vigilante cost the match, “if he’d tagged me in when I asked to finish that weakling Star Warrior off then we’d of been sharing out the winners purse. I won’t be teaming with him again”. Contrast of mood with the Champions team as Star Warrior confidently announces “the Gamemasters are back and ready to push for the tag belts again”
US. Patriot uses FREEDOM FLYER to easily beat Dynamo in a Slap Match. Whoever loses gets slapped round the face by the valet or girlfriend of his opponent. The match arises after Adam condemns Dynamo’s treatment of women. Adam predictably wins and Dynamo tries to get Cassandra to take his place but the officials won’t allow it. Ms. Liberty comes into the ring and winds up for the slap but stops in her tracks and allows her husband to step in. The crowd goes wild as Adam slaps the unsuspecting Dynamo instead leaving him with a red mark right across the face
Superiority Complex defeated Titan Wrestling by DQ. The Titans have surged into some real form that it takes a team with the class of Superiority Complex to slow them and even then it’s a controversial decision that leaves the Titan team feeling hard done by. Ursa Major is enthusiastic afterwards and hopes the tag team continues in 2101 even though Lord Nexus will be managing, “it has been a great experience for me. I have come on leaps and bounds under the Titan tutelage and already made memories to last a life time and hope to be making many more with these guys”. It’s good to see the smiles and even Morpheus is looking more relaxed than usual. Superiority Complex certainly giving him less trouble than his singles stars as he tries to keep all the big egos in the Citadel team in check
Dreadnaught and Vyper grapple to a double DQ. Vyper is agitated by a couple of things. He doesn’t like the fact Marcel de Sade is at ringside sticking his nose in given his past history with the Masked Assassins and is also still shattered from his recent failures to win the IP belt. Maybe it has an effect as despite dominating he lacks the killer instinct to finish Dreadnaught off and takes his eye off the ball allowing Marcel de Sade to tempt him into a brawl. The Henchmen gang up on him but Vyper goes wild and arms himself with a weapon that appears to be a sharpened croc tooth. Bravely the ref comes between the warring factions (Terak by now has raced to Vyper’s aid) and disqualifies them. Expect a rematch soon and also a likely battle between Vyper and Marcel de Sade to get booked
Titan Fury gets the show underway with victory over Crypt of Terror. So far it’s been a topsy turvy debut year for Rising Sun as he has struggled to get to grips with the demands of the GWF. Trainer Jim says he needs time and it is unfair to pin all of the Titan hopes on him but this is an example of how important he can be. Rising Sun overcomes a stuttering start in which CURSE OF KHETY tests him to come back into the ring (after Dragonmaster steadies the ship) and out the paranoid Pharaoh away with SUNSET SPECTACULAR. The Titan positivity is not being mirrored on the other side by their rivals in the Brotherhood. Ram continues to look downtrodden, fed up and in constant conflict with his manager and fellow team members. He has very little respect for his tag team partner, Pharaoh Khety, whom he describes as a wrestler with jobber talent and offers him no chance of capturing the tag belts.

Card 647 – COUNTDOWN TO GALACTICON – Aethran War Dome:
(Brotherhood promo. The Overlord appears with his followers in the ring to dispel the myth of team disharmony. Conducts a ridiculous ceremony where he throws a bucket of water over each team member to wash away their sins and put them on a straight and narrow path. Total silence from the Aethran crowd at what they are seeing and Bishop Hell looks completely embarrassed by the whole segment. The Overlord plays dumb when asked why Bishop Hell does not participate in the ritual)
Vengeance beats Soldier of Fortune to loosen the Hitman’s grip on the IP title and claim the belt. Early pressure from Soldier of Fortune sees two attempts with THE REVENGER but it’s not enough. There is an air of inevitability about the outcome as Vengeance latches onto Soldier of Fortune with a Torture Grip to end it with his first meaningful attack (snake eyes roll catches everyone by surprise). Vengeance is not humble and grabs the belt claiming it is about time the galaxy recognised his greatness. With this success it helps the Vanguard streak ahead further in the Civil War and put the disastrous match Thunder and Overkill wrestler from earlier to the back of their minds. The Vanguard, despite injuries, now hold the two singles titles. The Legends on the other hand have very little to show for their efforts and desperately need big performances in the upcoming Aethran Ultimate Escape match and also at OTB to keep themselves alive
Sam’s Squadron defeated Demons of Hydra in a non-title match. The Demons of Hydra are bummed not be facing the Squadron at GALACTICON itself for the belts. They certainly give everything to try claim a win here and make a statement that they should get a chance at some point in the future. Sneaky switches, Darkos at his interfering best and a couple of goes with FINAL ORACLE. Despite all this the Squadron still comes through as winners with US. Patriot doing the damage against Hydra via ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST
Powerhouse defeated Dreadnaught with Massif as the referee. Dreadnaught never in it. By the time he passes out in the Squeeze of Death he’d already been weakened with VOLCANIC DROP three times. Tensions between Powerhouse and Massif simmer. Massif’s heavy handedness in stopping Powerhouse climbing to the top turnbuckle gives plenty to think about but it never quite kicks. If the match was not there to be won Powerhouse may of reacted differently
Spike and Wolf take advantage of the injuries carried by both Thunder and Overkill to crush them in just three moves. Thakur lets the home crowd vote for what type of match this would be and the decision of the people is to take away the weapons and leave it as a good old regular match up. Overkill starts things off with a powerslam and then tries to knock Spike out with a vicious punch and end it quickly but Spike just soaks it up. The huge Overkill then tries to whip Spike into the ropes but the execution is all wrong and he gets rolled up (for all his power Spike has remarkable agility for a big man) in a surprise pin. Wolf is not content with his lack of ring time and goes after Thunder rather than celebrate the win. He wants to show the Aethran crowd he has still got appetite for the Civil War. Both of them brawl to the back but some armed Aethran soldiers storm the ring and lead all four Gladiators away. It is a catastrophic loss for Thunder and Overkill and being hampered by injuries will not be considered a good enough excuse. Luckily the Vanguard has been so dominant in the Civil War they may be able to swallow this one
Enigma, Darkos and Marcel de Sade beat Kati and the Enforcers by DQ. Kati joins his new buddies in the Kingdom. It’s a mixed team debut for him. He plays a critical role in helping to save Stalker after Enigma levelled him with FEET OF FURY but then goes and costs his team a little later on by going all heel. He overdoes the rule breaking with constant running into the ring and endless arguing with the official. Maybe he was trying a little too hard to impress Terak. Trying to keep Kate’s confidence up Terak posts on Spacebook that Kati should be proud of his efforts tonight and is a valued team member “signing him up was a bargain. The Savage Kingdom has never been stronger!”
Draconian Sheik wins against Heracles by DQ. Drac tears into Heracles wildly with immediate effect. His first attack is from behind as a result of Cannibal’s distraction. It sets the tone and Heracles struggles to deal with the barbaric onslaught. He repels the savage attacks for a while but eventually goes down and nearly suffers an early pin defeat. Much to Omega’s relief (the great man is making a rare ringside appearance to keep his eye on Cannibal) Heracles wakes up and manages to settle down. However relief soon turns to disappointment as Heracles seems to have wrestled control and has Drac where he wants him but then allows Cannibal to drag Drac out of the ring. Omega coaches Heracles not to get drawn into it, “they just want to turn it into a brawl, don’t let them do it”. Unfortunately Heracles either doesn’t hear him or is just too worked up to care. He follows out and worse still picks up Cannibal’s sharpened spear and breaks it over Drac’s head. Omega shakes his head as the ref instantly disqualified Heracles. Ultimately it brought Heracles to his senses. He backs off straight away and follows his manager from the scene before Cannibal and Drac can come back at him in a revenge attack which we all know would be potentially lethal
Raven outclasses Metalhead. Raven runs the gauntlet appearing in Aethra. The Civil War may be the most important thing going on in this part of the cosmos but WAR are still seen as big enemies of Aethra. Raven has to come down the runway in similar fashion to a boxer by being surrounded by security to beat the baying crowds off and shield him from missiles. Like the pro that he is Raven blocks it all out to completely focus on the task at hand and wrestles a blinder. Even when Metalhead is handed a weapon by some crowd members (some kind of catapult) Raven ducks under the object that is fired and nails BROADSWORD. Metalhead is sent flying under the impact and suffers a swift defeat. Metalhead leaves Aethra shortly after the match and hits the bars to drink away the pain of defeat and gets in a drunken brawl resulting in a trip to the cells. His containment casts doubt on his being able to face New Order on the next show
Brute and Massacre mauls Flamboyance. The original plan was to have both of the regular Gladiator tag teams going up against the two singles guys on the opposing team as part of the big build to GALACTICON. So the original opponents were to of been Mayhem and Vengeance. But because of Mayhem’s injuries and Vengeance ascending to the IP title match the match is shelved. Brute and Massacre don’t want to let the opportunity to perform in Aethra pass and look for new opponents. It’s a surprise when Flamboyance steps up to the plate. Given the recent batterings Vanity has sustained at the hands of the Vanguard team he would be forgiven for not wanting any part of it but his partner Killer Queen convinces him it would be good for his image and a massive feather in the cap of the team if they can pull off an upset, “plus if we really put on a flamboyant show it might loosen these uptight Aethran people up a bit. They need a bit of entertaining”. Vanity is probably thinking more about the chance to get close to more Aethran women after taking a fancy to Thrash. The team does not have the distractions of Maxine Babe to help them though. The impact of her beauty is lost on the Gladiators and she is also banned by the Aethran organisers from being near the ring area. Although the odds are stacked against them Flamboyance actually gets a few good shots in. Nothing to trouble the Gladiators but at least they give it a go. Brute brings things to a close as he starts to destroy Killer Queen and nails BRUTE FORCE.

Card 648 – GALACTICON 14 – Aethran War Dome:
(The event despite the reservations of it being staged in the cauldron of violence that is Aethra turns out as a massive success and has an approval rating that made it one of the most popular Galacticon’s of all time. Very few fans (or outsiders) attend Aethran events but those hardcore fans that did go make themselves heard throughout even though the clanking of metal on metal threatens to drown them out. The GWF is applauded for finding the perfect blend of special and regular matches and promoting the Civil War feud to make it among the most important battles in it’s history. Several matches rated at least 4 star and none of the tussles bombed out)
Aethran Ultimate Escape Match, the Gladiator Legends defeated the Gladiator Vanguard. Same main event as in 2099 but this time it means more as we are in the Aethran War Dome. It’s a rowdy atmosphere and the two teams have to fight their way through the hustle and bustle in the runway. The Vanguard look like the walking wounded with all their injuries on their single file approach to the cage. It will be a major embarrassment to the Legends if they can’t win from this position. There is no ring entrance music played for either team, just the banging of metal, this is about as serious as it gets. Thakur arranges for both the Heavyweight and IP titles that are held by the Vanguard team to be displayed high above the cage in a symbol of Aethran dominance. He is sat in a gallery to view the action (he only shows up for the main event). The cameras often focus on him to see his reactions but he remains silent and poker faced throughout. Story of the match ... Frantic early action with Wolf battling Vengeance hard and applying SAVAGE FACE CLAW but the Legends tag team drop the early advantage. Thunder escaping against Brute first after an Aethran Power Bomb (assisted by Overkill); Spike quickly levels up as he singles out Vengeance and manages to tie him in the ropes and get out the cage. The other Legends are able to form a barrier around him to stop his escape being foiled. Great start to the match and some blood already flowing. Interesting tactic already being employed by the Legends as they seem to be trying to keep Massacre fresh, he’s hardly been in the action so far. All 3 of the Vanguard wrestlers left are already laden with tokens; Gripping phase as Wolf engages Mayhem in an intense scrap. He is the next to escape after SAVAGE FACE CLAW as Mayhem misses LEAP OF DOOM. Before that Brute and Massacre had used DECAPITATOR on Vengeance but it didn’t lead to an escape. No doubt the Legends are firmly in the driving seat now. Both Vengeance and Mayhem have 6 tokens and Overkill has 3; Brute gets out against Vengeance who runs into a turnbuckle and also hits part of the cage. Vengeance must of been badly hurt as Brute needed a long time when climbing out as he struggled to haul his ample frame over the top. Massacre now alone and ready to fight for a Legends victory; Vengeance gives the Vanguard hope as beats Massacre. He uses Eye Cleaver several times to slow Massacre down and then a Gladiator Piledriver to enable a successful cage climb. As he reaches the ground on the other side he looks terrible. Badly bleeding but is given silent respect from the crowd; Massacre takes the glory by evading Overkill to get out the cage. Mayhem and Overkill had fought resolutely with their injuries but they were just too hurt to combat Massacre effectively. Massacre puts Overkill down with a flying knee smash and Mayhem can only make a pathetic attempt to stop him before collapsing through blood loss in the ring. The Aethran crowd marks the victory with deafening stomping of their metal boots
Tag champs, Sam’s Squadron, successfully defend against the Enforcers. Terak enjoying life as he gives an interview before the match and says that he hopes the fairytale can continue. He accepts that the Enforcers are in the last chance saloon with regards their run at the belts. Whatever happens the Savage Kingdom has already had it’s best year in the GWF challenging for and capturing gold that most thought was beyond them as one of the weaker hero teams. Sadly it’s not to be for the Enforcers as they are on the losing end of a cracking tussle. The Squadron is mostly calling the shots but there is an early attempt to pin US. Patriot by Stalker after CALL OF THE WILD which has Commander Sam sweating. Adam is able to beat Stalker with FREEDOM FLYER but he and Justice are made to work extremely hard for it. They may of been the underdogs but the Enforcers showed they cannot be pushed around and earned the respect of their opponents. Justice makes a respectful gesture as Stalker and Wildcat leave the ring by clapping them off. Stalker turns to acknowledge him with a thumbs up
Lepus Stun Rod Match, Colussus and Max Shield defeated Chaos and Mandrill. Max challenges Mandrill to put his Colonizer belt on the line hours before the event. Mandrill thinks Max is jealous that he doesn’t have his own title and refuses point blank by saying he cannot leap frog the other more worthy contenders. Chaos stays quiet on the subject, his eyes are on the main prize of the Heavyweight belt and he is almost embarrassed to be caught up in a row about a cheap second rate piece of trash (not a good way to get along with your tag team partner). By beating Colussus his belief is the GWF championship committee can no longer hold him back. Poor Colussus is caught in the crossfire of all this, he just wants to have a good match and grab another win over Chaos on the big stage. He’s done it before and believes he can do it again. So the four guys involved all have different agendas and as a result they all wrestle very much like individuals. Significant moments are Chaos seeing the Alpha Stone lose it’s powerful glow in the opening minutes whilst up against Colussus. Despite this Chaos works towards a position of strength. Now up facing Max Shield he smashes Max with the stun rod and then clamps BOW OF DEFEAT. Colussus encourages Max to hold on which he does but it looks like Chaos is going to get on a roll with repeat applications of his crushing finisher. However, Chaos chooses not to try again straight away and is favouring other power moves. Mandrill wants in but Chaos continues on himself and climbs to the top of the turnbuckle ready to come down on Max. Colussus on the apron can’t watch as he fears the worst for his partner but Max makes a remarkable move to roll out the way leaving Chaos to smash into the canvas. The blow knocks the stuffing out of him and Max chances a pin attempt. He seems as surprised as anybody when Chaos fails to kick out in time
Battlezone Match, Murderer’s Row (Cycle Hog, Cannibal and Death’s Head) defeated the King’s Court (Jack of Diamonds, Exo-King and Defender of the Realm). Pre match dramas as the Defender refuses to appear leaving the King’s Court outnumbered. It’s hard to see them recovering from this setback. Exo-King puts on a brave face “we are better off without him, we need to have serious minds and Defender’s mind has been elsewhere for a long time now”. Cannibal is already plotting a victory dinner as he hauls a big cooking pot to ringside. The crazed Cannibal says both Jack and Exo-King will be going in it at the end of the match, “we will have a Galacticon feast! Cycle Hog is very hungry”. In the opening match, Jack of Diamonds uses his agility to handle Cycle Hog. A spectacular moonsault gets Cycle Hog off his feet. Jack completely in control of this feud; Jack of Diamonds is really rising to the occasion as he doesn’t give Cannibal a prayer. He puts several pin attempts on Cannibal before DIAMOND CUT renders him completely out of it. Jack still completely clean of tokens; Death’s Head is brutality defined as he relentlessly pounds Jack taking chunks out of him and hitting FUNERAL MARCH four times. Jack tried to hang on but a vicious skull rake ends his resistance meaning the match goes into a tense decider; Death’s Head beats Exo-King by DQ. Death’s Head trying FUNERAL MARCH a few times again but it’s less effective on Exo-King. Nevertheless Exo-King blows the match. His mood probably affected by Defender’s treachery to leave them a man down so his aggression takes on an unexpected level as he tries to tame his creepy opponent. In a move not befitting a King he grabs the massive wooden spoon Cannibal has left in the cooking pot and uses it to try and take Death’s Head’s head off. At least Exo-King is able to use it as a weapon to fight off the hungry hordes as he leaves the ring with Cannibal and the crew lurking in readiness for meal time
Turnbuckle Shock Match, Superiority Complex beats the Mercenaries. Two of the biggest tag teams that have been pushed out of the title picture in recent months looking to re-assert themselves. For the Mercenaries in particular they will want to propel themselves back among the elite. It’s been years since they held tag team gold. Perhaps all the spontaneous feuds the lottery throws up for them have been hurting their progress. Superiority Complex showing all their usual arrogance and bragging they’ve got the match in the bag, “we are the elite and will adapt to the unusual match conditions” says Prodigy. Typically they deliver on their arrogant claims. It’s not a long match as the electrically charged buckles take their toll. Soldier of Fortune throws Skinhead into the turnbuckle where it delivers a sharp shock. Then he tries to double the damage with a charging follow up but Skinhead moves using his last ounce of energy. Both are down but as Soldier of Fortune desperately crawls towards Vigilante seeking the hot tag Skinhead recovers and uses BAD ATTITUDE. Snake eyes roll gives Superiority Complex yet another one to chalk up in the win column
(The following were all Titan Death Matches)
New Order overcomes Generation X. The Aethran crowd continues to show disdain for WAR by keeping their backs turned. Metalhead makes the pre-match promos with minutes to spare after a stint behind bars. Showing no remorse for his actions he threatens Dreggs that, unlike the match with Raven on the Countdown card, there will be no missing with any weapons he may get handed. Given that this is a Titan Death match booking the New Order needs to be on high alert. Metalhead is caught red handed by frisking officials before he even enters the ring. A pouch of blinding powder, brass knuckles and some wire are all confiscated from him but he soon gets hold of a metal boot thrown from within the crowd and with things already underway the match officials are powerless to stop him using it. The boot becomes a pivotal item during the course of match. Both teams have spells of possession with it and aren’t afraid to use it. Dreggs gets the most telling blow in on his brother, Metalhead, and then uses a Nuclear Charge to give himself enough breathing space to grab the pin. Grunge doesn’t react as he believes the move wasn’t going to be enough to stop Metalhead but he has probably underestimated how painful those metal boots are when thrown straight in the face
Raven destroys Monad. Cautious approach from Raven who knows there could be a backlash from Monad after the dismal failure to capture the Heavyweight belt. Entire Aethran crowd turn their backs on the match. This doesn’t bother Raven who catches Monad on a real off day. Raven shows the WAR guys don’t mind playing dirty if the match rules fit and he delivers a paralysing bodyslam out on the floor. It sets in motion the finishing sequence as he then unleashes BROADSWORD followed by BLADERUNNER to leave Monad in a mangled heap
Matador of M83 delivers a master class to beat Alpha Force. Two super talented guys in a classic Champions-Citadel feud match but operating very much in the shadow of other events. Alpha Force has been steadily picking up pace after his defeat of Janus and another win will put him in contention for being wrestler of the month and maybe greater things. The Matador knows he must stop Alpha Force’s momentum and also his own free fall. Isolated on the Citadel team and seen as a problematic character by Morpheus it has been his worst year in the GWF by far. He is a true legend and hall of famer and cannot believe some of the recent losses he has suffered. Despite lacking the respect of his own manager the Matador refuses to blame Morpheus for his poor form and strives to make things right for himself. No better time than now as the Matador goes some way to restoring his reputation with some brilliant wrestling. Alpha Force gives it a great effort and even attempts ALPHA STRIKE but nothing is stopping the Matador tonight. An exquisitely timed BULLWHIP virtually knocks Alpha Force out cold allowing the Matador to get the glory
(Regular matches)
Heracles wins the battle of strongmen as he prevails over Powerhouse by DQ. Pegasus seen chatting and socialising with both Heracles and the FDF after his own match which enrages Powerhouse, “why is that loser being friendly with our enemies? If he ever comes back to the GWF full time I will teach him a lesson by crushing him. He likes to think he is one of the most powerful guys to of ever set foot in the GWF but nobody is more powerful than Powerhouse. Not even Chaos or Overkill”. Powerhouse begins by calling Pegasus out but needs to get his mind back on the match. Heracles takes the opportunity to get the first blows. Powerhouse soon gets his focus in the right place and a match of power demonstrations plays out. They are both pretty evenly matched in that department but Heracles has the greater wrestling skills and after a few minutes collides into Powerhouse with OLYMPIA. Kicking out of pin attempts once floored is not Powerhouse’s strong suit but on this occasion he manages to rock himself and get a shoulder up. Somewhat frustrated Heracles ups the ante in the power moves and picks Powerhouse up and dumps him out the ring. Angry at being shown up Powerhouse collects his climbing gear and returns to the ring to try and assault Heracles with it but the ref comes between him. When Powerhouse fails to back off and drop the gear he calls the DQ
Mesmer overcame Lord Nexus in a veterans battle. Already Lord Nexus has his thoughts on managing, looking to the horizon he considers it a great honour that he’ll be succeeding Trainer Jim. His team mates are urging him to wrestle on as long as he can as he may regret retiring too early but Lord Nexus is getting old and often looks tired inside the ring. Tonight was a case example. He gave it everything but didn’t try too many spectacular moves and was quite slow to keep on top of Mesmer. But the old legend kept plugging away and had Mesmer rocking on plenty of occasions. Lord Nexus even had strength of mind to resist Mesmer’s numerous attempts with EVIL EYE to put him in a trance but the move eventually catches him out. It was about the fourth time Mesmer had tried it. Notable absentee was the Overlord again. Quite why he’d choose to miss such a big event was puzzling but recent humiliations have not been good for him and the last place anyone would want to break down is in the Aethran War Dome
Bishop Hell (minus the Occult Overlord) beats Quasar. Before the bell action! Bishop Hell is tampering with his arm as Quasar enters the ring. Trainer Jim spots this and sounds the alarm. Instinctively Quasar rolls out the way as Bishop Hell tries to ignite HELLFIRE behind him. Bishop Hell misses and ends up setting fire to the ropes. Flames are quickly extinguished and frantic repairs go on. The referee considers disqualifying Bishop Hell for this but as the match hasn’t even started is confused as to what to do. Trainer Jim asks him not to be too hasty so Quasar can beat Bishop Hell in the ring. He may of regretted his decision as Bishop Hell wins a fast paced match with his illegal move
Pegasus opens the event by beating Killer Queen. Pegasus strides in confidently. He seems to have really turned over a new leaf and even a new look with greased back hair. Still packing a big ego but in the build up is quick to say he regrets some of his actions down the years and admits at times he can be a bit of a jerk. You have to admire his honesty. Tough match though and not the walkover Pegasus may of expected. Even has to survive WARP SPEED, Killer Queen reminding that he is a dazzling wrestler at times. Certainly has some moves this fellow. However Pegasus is not about to be shown up and remains 100% this year and uses an Ego Boost to end it. I had toyed with ending it as a time limit expiry as I rolled and rolled with no end in sight but just as I was thinking this Pegasus seemed to get on a run and pulled it out the bag.

In one of the most shocking occurrences in contemporary GWF Omega is reported to of exploited the fragile situation with Krakan and Morpheus to clinch a Hitman contract on the Citadel. The rumour being that he made a large withdrawal from the Galactico Bank in Cetusian currency and paid Krakan a handsome sum. Naturally questions are raised because of Omega’s nobility but one can argue extreme measures are needed and as they have common enemies it’s a marriage of convenience. So what are the possible reasons ... (1) To weaken the Citadel so that when they come to honour matches against the Champions they’ll be easy pickings (2) To sideline the Citadel attentions and allow the Champions to pursue dreams of capturing the belts (3) Or quite simply to give his team a much needed rest. But surely Omega should be going after the Citadel himself. It wouldn’t help his own men’s ranking positions much to be letting the Hitmen have the big matches. Nevertheless it lifts the lid on another potentially exciting feud. The move draws big concerns back on Cetus and the Noble Guild (a group honouring legendary beings in his home system of which Omega is a senior member) is looking into this. If the rumours do prove to be true Omega could find himself excluded from the group. Of course the Hitmen will have to do it all without Splatter who is serving a long term suspension (read below). Omega takes a while to respond to the news after being on a team training break. The whole team had been in a remote location cut off from all communication and totally unaware of the media storm brewing. As soon as they return and Omega discovers the story he is gobsmacked and strongly denies it saying someone is trying to set him up and promises to smoke out the culprit.
The other astonishing news surrounding the Hitmen is a likely feud with the Gladiator Vanguard after Splatter viciously attacked Mayhem. Krakan had been trying to convince Splatter to pick a different victim fearing Gladiator retribution but Splatter went ahead with the attack anyway as he looked for a major name to take down (and they don’t come much bigger than the current champ). Mayhem received one of his worst attacks ever carried out and it was a wonder he could even compete in any matches after what happened. Remarkably Mayhem wrestled less than a week later and held onto his title. Splatter was immediately given the harshest suspension currently possible as the GWF tries to appease the Aethrans. High ranking officials (including Carter) possibly worrying about the form revenge will take and the fed turning into a war zone. At the moment Thakur and the other Gladiators are staying dangerously quiet about the incident.
Belt news. The Heavyweight belt sees Chaos stepping up his efforts to win it and return to the top table in the GWF. He is not letting the rumoured Hitman contract that is out on the Citadel get in his way and is prepared to wrestle demanding matches on every show next month if he has to. As a result he is trying to force Commissioner Carter into putting him up against Mayhem. An upturn in form from Raven sees the WAR star threaten to barge in on Chaos’s efforts to secure the title shot. The promising new journalist Qualitar nabs an exclusive interview with Chaos at a BBQ event on Earth. They discuss numerous things but when Chaos learns of Raven’s intrusion on his title assault and the suggestion that he is a more worthy contender Chaos smashes a wall and reduces it to rubble. Commissioner Carter steps in to rule and says the best way to find the top contender will be for Chaos and Raven to square off in a Titan Death match with the winner receiving the next title shot. It’s juicy stuff and seeing where this goes will be interesting. In the tag division there are lots of vultures circling the current champs. Remarkably the improvements shown by Brute and Massacre mean they will face Sam’s Squadron next getting the nod over other contenders such as the New Order and Superiority Complex. Provides a big chance to bring the final belt into the Civil War. Like one of their big rivals, the Mercenaries, it’s been a long, long time since this legendary team last had their hands on the titles. Finally, the IP belt was being hotly contested by Vengeance, Vyper and Soldier of Fortune. It was Vengeance who emerged from this month holding the strap. His first challenge will come from Jack of Diamonds who edges out Max Shield in the list of contenders.
The TOC belt has been renamed the Colonizer Championship by Mandrill. He won a unification match against Thantos by DQ. The lucky and questionable nature of the win was contested by Thantos. Although the belts are unrecognised traditional rules dictate titles can only change hands on a pin or submission. But Mandrill took a hold of Thantos’s belt anyway and true to his word had them melted down to create a new championship. He is bragging that soon the Colonizer belt will become the most important and sought after item in the GWF. There is no doubt that this guy is an emerging force. Max Shield aims to hurt Mandrill by taking this ridiculous item from him, “it shows the depths Mandrill will go to for domination, he didn’t win it himself but has to make himself feel important”. The way Max humbled Mandrill in their recent cage meeting may mean the evil Colonizer tries to keep the belt under wraps in future meetings between them. Mandrill already chickened out of putting it on the line at GALACTICON when challenged for it. Deep down he knows Max has had the measure of their early unspectacular battles.
Ram continues to feel alienated by his own team after the latest skirmish with Bishop Hell. The Overlord’s attempts to purify the team in a ceremony then just irritated him even more. Word is that he is now on the lookout for a new team in 2101 but given the problems he has caused in the past with the Ani-Men and now the Brotherhood he might not be flooded with offers. Ram blabs that even Bishop Hell is tired of the ridiculous rituals and the team is going backwards so rapidly it may struggle to survive beyond the end of the year. Naturally the Overlord won’t hear of it and intends to flush out any guys without the deepest of commitment to the Brotherhood cause, “it’s not a problem, just even more purification needed”.
FALLOUT FROM GALACTICON ... All the big wrestling magazines and websites are awash with reviews of the recent supercards. It might go down as one of the biggest months in GWF history with two huge events one after the other. Naturally the Gladiator Legends going against the Gladiator Vanguard will be what it will be remembered for but there was plenty of other important stuff going on ... Defender of the Realm may have finally burned all his bridges with Exo-King. Trying to give him another chance Defender was booked to wrestle only to no show for the Battlezone match. The King’s patience and understanding for the mental issues suffered appear to be at an end, “we are better off without him and maybe it’s the best thing for him. Jack and I are tired of walking on eggshells around him. He has been chipping away at our morale and damaged the team. To be honest I think he’s responsible for the Collector retiring and Killer Queen leaving. Now we need to try and move on” ... Fantastic tag belt action saw the Squadron defend against the Enforcers. Despite the loss the Enforcers earned respect for their efforts and are determined to stay among the top contending teams and prove themselves again. The request may get ignored because of the Civil War but Terak would love nothing more than to test his team against both Gladiator tag teams ... Tough night for Chaos to look back on as he tumbled to defeat in tag action. He and Mandrill didn’t get along too well but aside from his loss things went well for the Citadel as both the Matador and Superiority Complex triumphed ... Another team faring well was WAR. Raven and New Order keeping the team’s confidence high. Destructon 3000 is delighted this has all been achieved in the backyard of the Gladiators ... Hot Titan form comes to an end. The Overlord stays away from the action and it seems to have a positive effect on the Brotherhood. Both Bishop Hell and Mesmer posting victories ... Pegasus made what was only his second televised appearance this year. He looked like he was still in top shape against Killer Queen. The future direction of Pegasus is uncertain but a feud against his ex team members looks on the cards if he does return full time. Amazingly Pegasus is faring well in online popularity polls and a face turn in 2101 is strongly suspected.
CIVIL WAR WATCH - The most significant month in the Civil War was almost ruined by Splatter. The Vanguard had to wrestle through terrible injuries. If they are to eventually win this Civil War then they would of done it the hard way and proven themselves worthy successors. The word on the injuries is that Thunder and Overkill are now almost healed up and Mayhem should be ready for OTB as long as he keeps his schedule light over the next few weeks. It did prove damaging for them at GALACTICON though as they were beaten in the main event again. Lots for Thakur to consider. Overall the Vanguard has won the most matches and hold the two singles belts but the Legends has won both of the Aethran Ultimate Escape matches. What feat is considered more impressive? It certainly makes it interesting again as before the last match the Vanguard seemed well ahead and another win of that magnitude would surely of meant it was all over bar the shouting.
WHOSE HOT - Raven, Max Shield, Jack of Diamonds, Wolf, Vengeance, Death’s Head, New Order, Superiority Complex, Sam’s Squadron, Brute and Massacre WHOSE NOT - Monad, Mandrill, Chaos, Janus, Metalhead, Thunder and Overkill, the Mercenaries, Demons of Hydra INJURED – Overkill (1); Thunder (1); Mayhem (4); SUSPENDED – Splatter (9)
Wrestler of the Month: VENGEANCE - So many contenders as the likes of Raven and Max Shield have stellar months with key victories. Vengeance just about clinched the award for coming through two matches to capture the IP belt and was the stand out performer for the crippled Vanguard team in the Aethran Ultimate Escape match.
Tag Team of the Month: SUPERIORITY COMPLEX - Awakened from their slumber and moving ominously back to hot form. Lots of debate as to who the greatest tag team ever is but Superiority Complex are right up there among the best. They have consistently held gold and showed once again they are superior to the Mercenaries.

DARK MATCHES ... from Hyperion Craterdome
Max Shield storms to victory over Vengeance. IP belt not on display and safely tucked away on Aethra. Max has been careful to do and say the right things since entering the GWF. Usually keeping his comments squarely on Mandrill but it’s clear he doesn’t have a high opinion of Vengeance and is keen to put one over on him here. In his determination to bring Vengeance down a peg or two Max delivers a rude shock. Vengeance thinks he is cruising, a couple of Eye Cleavers and LETHAL CATAPULT leaves him casually covering and expecting no response from Max. Wrong, Max kicks out, dodges a deathjump and hits MAXIMUM IMPACT for the win. That’s how quick it can all change
The Enforcers beat Thunder and Overkill by DQ. The angry Vanguard tag team seemed to have little interest in this distraction of a match. Still licking their wounds after GALACTICON they take out their rage on the Enforcers. Even Thrash is getting involved and it’s actually her attacking of Stalker that causes the disqualification
The Gamemasters go over Flamboyance. Thantos marks Vanity out for punishment after a nasty incident with Maxine Babe. In a bid to distract him she gets up on the ring apron and whips out her bra from under her top and dangles it towards Thantos’s face. Thantos stands there shocked at what he is seeing but then nearly gets his eye taken out as she flicks the strap towards him. Rage boils up inside Thantos but he cannot strike back at a woman and instead turns and points towards Vanity and shouts “you’ll pay for that”. Not too long after this he has Vanity yelling in agony in MASTERLOCK. Thantos keeps the move locked in for a few seconds after Vanity submitted to really ram the act of revenge home
Raven defeated Mutant. Raven almost caught out after trying to outbrawl Mutant and finding himself having to bat off Mutant’s TEMPLE GRINDER. Raven recovers and learns from his error and lets BROADSWORD finish the match off to spare his blushes
Cannibal skins Pollux with THROAT SLIT doing the damage
Thrash works her socks off to beat Ms. Liberty. Surprisingly close contest after Ms. Liberty is written off for not being tough enough to handle Thrash but shows she has guts. Ms. Liberty goes toe to toe with Thrash and nearly gets an upset via THE LIBERATOR which is impressive considering she’d already been on the end of FEMME FATAL. The longer it goes the more frustrated Thrash becomes and the more mistakes happen. The loss of composure from Thrash keeps things balanced but sadly Ms. Liberty tries whipping Thrash into the turnbuckle and going for a running clothesline. Thrash gets out the way and Ms. Liberty crashes hard into the buckle. As she staggers backwards Thrash rolls her up and sneaks the pin. Normally so seriously looking Thrash actually now looks relieved, smudged face paint and all, not to of lost to what she would consider an inferior opponent.
DARK MATCHES ... from Hyperion Craterdome
Brute and Massacre well and truly back to their headbanging best as they tear apart the Enforcers. Poor Stalker has to be scraped off the canvas at the climax having been battered with DECAPITATOR and BRUTE FORCE (twice) during the course. Incredible that he had managed to evade being pinned after any of these moves but perhaps he should of just stayed down after the first finisher because Brute and Massacre just ramped up the violence after each failure. Massacre is the one who gets the pin on Stalker thanks to a skull rattling Gladiator Piledriver
Justice finishes Powerhouse with SHOCK PROBATION (+4). Feud can’t get off the ground on tv so it’s booked dark. Some good action with Powerhouse heeling it up good and proper with CHOKE WITH GEAR and Justice battling back in heroic fashion
Matador of M83 defeated Kati by count-out. The rivalry continues off camera. The Matador is back on song and dominates Kati. After weathering an initial flurry from Kati he gets his stuff together and leaves Kati in a pool of blood out on the floor after BULLWHIP on the concrete. Normal service resumed
The Zodiac upsets New Order after Gemini Smash stops Mace. New Order had been looking back in the groove during the GALACTICON month but all is still clearly not well. They cannot get their stuff together against the Zodiac. The warning signs are there as Mesmer tries to control Mace several times with EVIL EYE and then links up with his partner for SIGN OF THE ZODIAC. It takes a huge effort from Dreggs to keep the match alive. New Order rallies briefly with Dreggs carrying things but Mace drops the baton again and falls to the much weaker Gemini. Lots of online chatter when news of this latest setback for New Order breaks. Some postings urge Dreggs to ditch Mace and work on his relationship with his brother to try and form a formidable team. Dreggs won’t hear of it and supports Mace stating he is the best partner anyone can have and the team will be bouncing back
Wolf annihilated Death’s Head. Wolf craving hardcore action outside of the Civil War to help prep for the OTB hardcore tournament due in a few cards. Death’s Head fitting the bill perfectly. Wolf gets his hardcore fix and gives the fans what they wanted to see, SAVAGE FACE CLAW, to win
Soldier of Fortune gets the better of Lord Nexus after Street Moves. Soldier of Fortune needed that lift, the loss of the IP belt and subsequent failure of the Mercenaries to beat Superiority Complex has left him feeling a bit sorry for himself.

Card 649 – Spica Pyramid:
Chaos beats Raven in a Titan Death match to become the #1 contender to the Heavyweight belt. Nothing is stopping Chaos as he mauls Raven and wears him down countless times with BOW OF DEFEAT. In the briefest of moments Raven gets a spell of offense and tries BROADSWORD but it barely phases the big man and doesn’t even knock him over. In an arrogant display Chaos stands over the beaten Raven and makes gestures that the belt will soon be wrapped back around his huge frame. It’s a good time to be coming back into form for Chaos what with OTB also on the horizon
Soldier of Fortune pulverised Janus and grabs a count-out victory in less than two minutes. Nobody at ringside but the stipulations were not set up that way. The managers just choosing to stay away and let these two get on with it. Morpheus perhaps wishing he had been there as Janus goes down in a crushing loss. Soldier of Fortune getting in a ferocious blow with the bottom of his rifle outside the ring and knocking Janus out. Morpheus moans hypocritically in the aftermath that the standard of refereeing in the GWF these days is unacceptable and this incident should not of been missed
Matador of M83 keeping on a great run of recovery as he beats Vigilante by DQ. Vigilante trying to compensate for the Matador’s more technical style by seeking out a brawling mentality which is too much for the referee to overlook
Wildcat beating Bishop Hell by DQ as the Overlord fails again. Bishop Hell gives him the secret signal that HELLFIRE is coming and to get into position. The Overlord completely misses his cue and the referee catches Bishop Hell in the middle of his burning act. Oh dear!
Brute and Massacre edge a tough contest over Titan Fury. Dragonmaster takes THE CLEANSING and DECAPITATOR during the bout but the Titans working together to prevent the pin and stay in it. The Gladiators then change tactics. Massacre had done most of the work but they now think Brute is better suited to dealing with the fast Titan attacks. The gamble pays off as Dragonmaster takes leave of his senses thinking he can pick Brute up. Dragonmaster collapses under the weight and gets completely destroyed after this. Already carrying several tokens he has no chance of withstanding BRUTE FORCE. Nice effort by Titan Fury but they still have a long way to go to reach the pinnacle of tag teaming. They have a potential high level of offense that they could become the best Titan team yet once they become more settled and used to one another
Pillars of Power beat Terak and the Creeper. Surprisingly good match. Almost an upset as the Creeper shows strength to slam Powerhouse with THE ELIMINATOR but dastardly tactics by Dynamo puts his partner back ontop. The Creeper is distressed. It’s eyes are watering after something is sprayed in it’s eye (Cassandra had handed Dynamo a small bottle). Disoriented the Creeper gets subjected to CHOKE WITH GEAR and MUSCLE RIPPER (several of these). It instinctively hangs on for a while but defeat is inevitable. Terak calls the Pillars spineless for their actions in the match.
Card 650 – Spica Pyramid:
(Unexpected twist as Bishop Hell’s pass to the venue doesn’t work and he is refused entry to the Spica Pyramid. Turns out he burned the paperwork notifying him of a lifetime ban after the serious incident that went down between him and Pulsar Prime. The GWF working on overturning the ban as it’s the first they knew anything of it)
Dreggs wins against Overkill by DQ decision. It’s not the smooth sailing Overkill expected. He thought he’d just be squashing a bug and underestimates Dreggs singles abilities. Overkill has to take evasive action when TWIST AND SHOUT gets used against him in the early minutes. The quickness of Dreggs is causing a problem and Overkill just can’t shift his huge body quick enough to keep up. However he finally gets an opportunity to do some damage as Dreggs goes for a dropkick and Overkill is able to read it and push his legs away. It sends Dreggs over the top rope where he falls near Thrash. She cannot resists insulting Dreggs and grabbing him round the throat while Overkill blocks the view of the ref. Thrash is doing some damage but when Dreggs manages to get to his feet and force Thrash’s hands off his windpipe Overkill jumps out to protect her. The bond between Overkill and Thrash is so close that he won’t allow her to come to harm. His response to Dreggs putting his hands on her is to pick him up and press slam him into the crowd causing people to scatter. Overkill knows the outcome of his actions and doesn’t hang around to hear it. Instead he kicks over the broadcaster’s table and crushes a microphone in his hand before leaving. Dreggs slowly stumbles back from where he was thrown rubbing his back as a wooden chair had broken underneath him, at least it broke his fall. Will the Gladiators-WAR feud pick up where it left off after the Civil War is over? There is still plenty of heat there
Demons of Hydra and the Mercenaries fight out a double DQ. The Mercenaries are set to work a programme with the Citadel but manage to squeeze this match in after Krakan identifies the Demons as high ranking opponents that could push them back towards a title shot. Darkos was pleased that someone like Krakan held the team in such high esteem and was only too happy to put them up against the Mercenaries thinking it could have a similar effect if his team won. However, despite all the backslapping the reality is these are two teams struggling to get positive results and it shows itself in a mistake strewn match up and in the eventual outcome. Although it does make for some great action. Hydra feels about every big move the Mercenaries can come up with including THE REVENGER, POLICE BRUTALITY and of course OPERATION: AMBUSH. He does fantastically to still be in the contest after all this and the Demons get their time in the ascendancy with chances against Vigilante, THE FINAL ORACLE being used twice against him. Vigilante is equally adept at riding this high impact offence out. The match turns yet again and it’s now Demon getting a going over and OPERATION: AMBUSH gets put into plan once more. Hydra storms in and the Mercenaries have by now had enough of it. Vigilante meets him and a brawl begins. Even Krakan and Darkos are in the ring arguing. It gets the crowd going when Krakan puts Darkos in a headlock. No option but to call this a double DQ. Maybe a rematch at some point but the Mercenaries are very busy in the foreseeable future so might have to let it lie. Big observation from the match is that both teams will be concerned at how ineffective their big ‘finishing’ moves were
Darkos pinned Terak after FINAL CURTAIN. No big deal for Darkos here. He is streets ahead of Terak
Ram beat Quasar by count-out. Ram in as a late replacement for Bishop Hell. Gets a really lucky win. Ram misses RAM’S CHARGE three times in the match. It’s costly as it gives Quasar control and he is about to surely win after hitting his thrilling HIGH ROLLER. Suddenly he breaks off covering Ram as something the Overlord is doing distracts him. The Overlord has attacked Trainer Jim from behind with his staff. Quasar is such a loyal guy he’d rather lose his match than see his manager get hurt. He quickly rushes out to get in the way of the blows and scoops Trainer Jim up supporting him with his shoulder. Quasar takes him down the runway to seek treatment. The ref hadn’t seen how Jim got hurt and reluctantly completes his countdown
Ursa Major defeated Death’s Head after SHOTGUN CRADLE. Ursa Major making a name for himself in singles action with big name scalps including Bishop Hell and now Death’s Head
The Gamemasters overcome the Zodiac. Satisfying victory over their bogey team the Zodiac. It looks their bad luck against them will be continuing as Mesmer slips out of trouble despite being on the end of ENDGAME and also COSMIC BIG BANG. The Overlord then pulls a masterful distraction by trying getting on the apron and trying to heal the referee who palms him off but doesn’t see that a foreign object gets dropped. Mesmer gets hold of it and uses it against Star Warrior. He looks in danger as the Zodiac takes over and link up for SIGN OF THE ZODIAC. Thankfully Thantos is alert and snuffs out the danger. Crisis averted and Thantos fights hard to put the Zodiac on the back foot again. Mesmer has used his nine lives and when he is hit with ENDGAME again there is no saving him. Star Warrior is distressed to be hearing some anti-Omega chants in small crowd sections as they react to the news he has signed Krakan’s team to a Hitman contract. He defends his father by saying the whole thing is a setup and thinks Morpheus is behind it.
