With this event, I was inspired by seeing "The GWF Files" and that it had arena listings in it. Although I never bought it (my biggest GWF regret), I figured for the big events I would start creating locations for them. Remembering this makes me tighten the timeframe I'm playing in to be just before 2000, so late 1998 or 1999. I didn't plan for this write-up to be so timely with last night's real life PPV, but here is:
Rigel Royal Rumble 5/16/93 Rigel Stadium, Capital City, Rigel
Match 1: Cardsharks (Jack of Diamonds & Killer Queen) vs. Assassins (Whiplash & Death Masque)
A solid opening match that sees Darkos help set up the Backside Beheading on Killer Queen, and then Death Masque finishes him off with THE MELTDOWN.
Match 2: Ms. Liberty vs. Cassandra to be the first Women's Champion
Vanity's "fool-proof plan" of putting the new title in Cassandra's hands involved a cheap interference attempt. Ms. Liberty caught it in time though, and was able to punch Vanity back out through the ring ropes onto the floor. U.S. Patriot kept close watch on Vanity the rest of the time as Ms. L took control of the match and eventually beat Cassandra to make GWF history.
Match 3: Thantos vs. Destructon 3000
Both men displayed hatred for the other by constantly performing big moves in an effort to end things quickly. Thantos was surprised at how many times Destructon was able to reverse moves, and constantly complained to the ref that he was using his robotic part to gain an unfair advantage. The leader of the Gladiators eventually found himself with the opportunity to slap on the MASTERLOCK, and cinched it in knowing he would end the contest. Fury comes down, climbs to the top turnbuckle, and lands an elbow drop on Thantos, breaking the hold and forcing the ref to call for a disqualification. Spike and Thunder charge the ring, but Fury and 3000 are able to get out of there before things escalate.
Match 4: Lance At-Las vs. Dragonmaster for Cosmos Championship in a Titan Death Match
Lance At-Las is able to fend off attacks from his opponent, Krakan, and Mutant to put Dragonmaster away with the MARTIAN MANHANDLER to retain the title. Afterwards, Krakan orders Mutant to attack Lance, but the champion fights back sending the Society of Death into retreat.
Match 5: Wolf vs. Christian for Galaxian Heavyweight Championship
A fantastic match that sees the referee let things go almost to the point of a Titan Death Match. After out of the ring activity sees chair shots, people thrown into steps, and plenty of blood, Massif and Bishop Hell come down to interfere. Christian manages to fight off the former Tag Team Champions and Count Necros, just to turn around and get caught in the SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Christian never submits, but goes down long enough for Wolf to get a 3-count. The champion now waits to see who will get a title shot at the Omega Memorial.
Match 6: Rigel Royal Rumble
How I did this the first year was I assumed 10 moves would be the amount of time between entrants. I'll give a running tally of where we are in the match based on those 10 moves, and what happens until all 30 participants have entered:
1-Quasar (1) and Mace (2) reluctantly start the match together. As 2/3 of the Six-Man Tag Team Champs, they decide to battle for the opportunity of a title shot, but not let it affect their relationship.
10-Massif (3) enters
11-Mace (2) eliminates Quasar (1)
15-Massif (3) eliminates Mace (2), waits until 20 when Justice (4) comes out
22-Justice (4) eliminates Massif (3), waits until 30 when Chaos (5) comes out
33-You would think when these two enemies get together that a fierce battle would erupt, but Chaos (5) eliminates Justice (4) very quickly
Chaos (5) waits and then eliminates (6) U.s. Patriot-45, (7) Darkos-52, (8) Proteus-68, (9) King Lear-74, (10) Death's Head-86, (11) Matador of M83-97, (12) Brute-105, (13) Dreadnaught-117, (14) Massacre-123, (15) Bishop Hell-136, and (16) Spike-143 all before the next entrant comes into the ring. The amount of waiting keeps Chaos fresh.
150-Mayhem (17) enters and lasts until the next entrant!
160-Slicer (18) enters
164-Chaos (5) and Slicer (18) double-team Mayhem (17) to eliminate him, then agree (as all the members of Third Force have up until this point) that it's every man for himself for the title shot
168-Chaos (5) eliminates Slicer (18), goes back to the waiting game
Again, Chaos (5) eliminates Count Necros (19)-176 and Vanity (20)-187 before the next entrant comes out
190-Star Warrior (21) enters, goes toe-to-toe with Chaos (5)
195-Star Warrior (21) goes a huge ovation when he eliminates Chaos (5)
200-Soldier of Fortune (22) enters
210-Dreggs (23) enters
219-Star Warrior (21) eliminates Soldier of Fortune (22)
220-Pegasus the Powerful (24) enters
225-Dreggs (23) eliminates Pegasus (24)
228-Dreggs (23) eliminates Star Warrior (21), waits until...
230-Bounty Hunter (25) enters
234-Dreggs (23) eliminates Bounty Hunter (25), waits until...
240-Vigilante (26) enters
250-Alpha Force (27) enters
252-Alpha Force (27) eliminates Vigilante (26)
260-Actagon (28) enters
266-Alpha Force (27) eliminates Dreggs (23)
270-Raven (29) enters
280-Iron Mane (30) enters
With the final four being all good guys (Alpha Force, Actagon, Raven, and Iron Mane) they all shake hands before getting into it. Iron Mane takes out Alpha Force first, while a couple of seconds later, Raven tosses Actagon out. After a bit of a battle, Iron Mane is able to reverse a Raven move, slap on the Beast Claw, and toss him out. Iron Mane gets a Championship shot at the Omega Memorial coming up on 7/4! And I go back to the drawing board on how to do the Rumble...lol.

Main Event: Star Warrior & Christian vs. Ursa Major & Royal Overlord in a Division A First Round Tag Team Tournament match
Most people expected a complete squash by the Tag Team Champions, but Massif & Bishop Hell had other ideas. While Bishop Hell distracted the ref, Massif snuck around the ring and smashed Star Warrior with a chair. Royal Overlord seized the opportunity to go for the cover as the ref turned back around. Christian attempted a pin save, but was tripped up by Bishop Hell, allowing the huge upset. Massif & Bishop Hell walked away laughing at the champions' loss.

Great job with the Rumble... Even if it seemed like there was a lot of waiting, the end result was a lot of fun... Very cool that two of my favorites - Iron Mane and Raven - got to face off in the end... Nice work!

Great job with the Rumble... Even if it seemed like there was a lot of waiting, the end result was a lot of fun... Very cool that two of my favorites - Iron Mane and Raven - got to face off in the end... Nice work! The waiting definitely took me by surprise, so I changed the rules when it happened the following year. The result gives Iron Mane a chance to shine, which was a lot of fun. Thanks for the kind words as always!

Necros and Star Warrior get in each other's face while Christian sneaks past. The ref goes over to order Star Warrior to get out of the ring area, allowing Christian the time to pull a baseball bat out from under the ring and smash Bishop Hell in the foot with it. Once again, Star Warrior & Christian come to the ring to disrupt the former champions. Christian takes out Necros, and while the ref is trying to get the intruder to leave the ring area, Star Warrior puts down Massif.
