This was expected by many when WWE announced that SmackDown goes live on Tuesday nights but Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that there is lots of talk about TNA moving Impact Wrestling back to Thursday nights.
TNA begin airing on Spike TV back in 2005 on Saturday nights and later moved to Thursdays in April 2006. They briefly moved to Mondays in 2010 and Wednesdays in 2014 before moving to Friday nights on Destination America, beginning in 2015. Impact moved to Wednesdays in June of that year before returning to Tuesday nights on POP TV this year.
The move back to Thursday nights has not been confirmed but there are definitely talks going on as Impact will likely take a hit in the ratings due to SmackDown, beginning July 19th with the WWE Draft show.

Not a bad idea. There is no way Impact will draw viewers when head to head with SmackDown.

TNA just posted the Final Deletion video on their youtube and it has ads in there about the move to Thursday. Makes sense to do that.

True but they have changes nights and channels so many times in the last 5 years and I am sure that doesnt help viewership Maybe if they go live more often instead of taping over a month of shows that when they air most people already know whats going to happen I think they can go head to head with Smackdown but only if they are Live Think about it The Monday Night Wars didnt really heat up until both shows were live and you didnt know what was going to happen

If Raw has one strength, is regardless of the network it is well known it is on Monday night. I just don't see Impact going head to head with Smackdown or Raw. WWE has shown no respect for Impact, and WWE is so far ahead of Impact on every level. WCW was able to close the gap due to Ted's money, a VAST media empire, and top shelf workers. Impact does not have those assets (especially without Panda money).
