Dont know if the place is right to post this question. A few months ago, there was a post here by Todd i think. Is there beside the Star Rating a other way to rate matches? A match with 7 to 3 Fatigue is also a 5 Star Match, but very one sided.not thrilling open exchange of pin attemps.Back and forth

I've been thinking of using this one
Take total tokens Figure the difference between the two competitors Divide the difference by two and that's your rating
i.e Wolf has 7 tokens and Thantos has 3 tokens 7-3 = 4 4/2 = 2 Rating of 2.00 which reflects the one-sidedness of the match JMHO

There are so many options. Sounds pretty hard to go down from a 5 Star Match to 2 Stars.

OK, let's experiment with this a little bit
By the current system most of us use, and using the current Wolf-Thantos example, we have a 5-star match 7+3 = 10 10/2 = 5 This takes into account total pin tokens only without giving any thought to the distribution, whether it were even 5-5, a slight edge at 6-4, or for instance one of them had a "night off" and it was 9-1
So, let's take both factors into account in our example here Total tokens 7+3 = 10 Difference 7-3 = 4 Suppose we subtract the difference from the total tokens, which would be 10-4 = 6 Our final rating would be 6/2 = 3 stars
Which would be great, if Thantos won, as he scored the majority of the pinfall attempts But what if Wolf managed to stage a comeback, catch Thantos by surprise, etc., and win the match. Let's try it that way using the above example Total tokens 7+3 = 10 Difference 3-7 = -4 10-(-4)=14 (We will invert the negative in this example) 14/2 = 7 stars (Imagine the crowd popping for the big comeback win by Wolf, and the TV audience jumping out of their seats, etc.)
There's my ideas, your opinions and constructive criticisms are welcome

When I did star ratings for my ROH fed I honestly just went by how much fun the match was to play out.

Like i wrote,a lot of different options.I like the idea with the final 3 Star Rating.it would put the stakes to show a real all time classic match even higher. And if you think about the amount of matches, that happened in all the years, the list of 5 Star Matches is rather short. Do you know the Lyle Williams Photographer card from Promoter online?
