VGK enters 2020 in first place in the Pacific Division with their latest victory coming against Philadelphia!
(now I just need my other team the Seattle Seahawks to also get a victory against Philadelphia- in the playoffs this weekend.)

This week the Golden Knights (who had been using the Chicago Wolves as their minor league hockey team) purchased the minor league team in San Antonio and is moving them to Henderson, Nevada.
On the front page of today's sports section in the LVRJ, it was reported that the Golden Knights filed a trademark application to name their new minor league team the Silver Knights who will play their games in the Orleans Arena which has been the home to minor league hockey in the past (Las Vegas Wranglers.)
I like getting to see VGK's top minor league players playing in the same area as the NHL team (many other NHL teams are doing something similar) and I will definitely go to some Silver Knights games at the Orleans Arena.

Golden Knights 5, Lightning 3!Guess who is back in 1st place in the Pacific Division! VGK ends the 11 game winning streak of Tampa Bay! The decision to fire their coach (who had been named as a head coach for this year's All Star Game) has proven to be a good decision for VGK. Also, that trade deadline acquisition to pick up Alec Martinez looks like a good move too as tonight in his debut for the Golden Knights he scored a goal and also had an assist. I will be in Seattle this weekend staying at my parents' home across the street from Seattle's only hockey bar The Angry Beaver. I think on Saturday night I am going to The Angry Beaver for dinner and beers and watch my Golden Knights host the Florida Panthers.

Golden Knights 5, Panthers 3!VGK wins again! I watched the game tonight in Seattle at The Angry Beaver bar which is Seattle's only hockey bar and is actually located about 2 blocks from where my parents live. For dinner during the game, I had the Angry Beaver burger and some beef poutine. I also drank a couple of Black Butte Porters (I don't understand why many Canadians like to drink Labatt Blue .) Also, although I did not get to see the game, today in sports my school UNLV defeated #4 San Diego State who had been the last unbeaten team in college basketball!

Golden Knights 3, Oilers 0!
I watched on TV the Golden Knights win again tonight, it was on a shutout with Fleury as the goalie.
Fleury is currently tied for the NHL lead with 5 shutouts (61st in his career- now 17th all time)- and 2 days ago at the trade deadline the Golden Knights picked up goalie Robin Lehner who was a Vezina Trophy finalist for the New York Islanders last season! With BOTH Fleury and Lehner as their goaltenders, VGK has the best goalie combination in the entire NHL!
Also, Nick Cousins, who VGK also picked up on Monday's trade deadline- they got him from the Montreal Canadians, scored a goal in his debut for VGK.
VGK tonight wins their 7th straight game and they double their lead in points (from 2 to 4) in the Pacific Division!

Tonight, VGK announced the name and logo of their new primary minor league affiliate- the Henderson Silver Knights: I lived in Henderson, Nevada for a couple of years in the Green Valley area before moving back to Las Vegas in 2007.

I like it alot too. The H on the horse's helmet stands for Henderson sort of like the V in the knight's visor of the logo for the Golden Knights stands for Vegas.
