CPW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Opening Round
Magnum TA vs. JJ Dillon The opening match here was very much a dud, as, much to the crowd's approval, Magnum never even let Dillon throw a punch. Magnum put Dillon away with the Belly to Belly Suplex. After the bell, Masked Superstar II came to the ring to help Dillon to his feet.
Yukon Eric vs. The Warlord No flying headscissors in this one! These two powerhouses clashed, throwing big power moves at each other. At one point, the action spilled to the outside, and Warlord attempted to whip Eric into the guardrail, but Eric reversed it, sending the Warlord crashing through the barricade and into the front row. As Warlord stumbled his way back to the apron, Eric delivered a nasty boot to the face between the ropes, stopping Warlord from beating the ten count. Yukon Eric advances by countout!
Masked Superstar II w/JJ Dillon vs. The Patriot The most notable thing at the start of this match was the fact that Dillon accompanied Masked Superstar II to ringside. He may have been eliminated from the tournament, but he apparently is lending out his managerial skills. MS II used straight power moves, so the Patriot was forced to rely on his speed and agility. The Patriot continued to stick and move, and hit two big Patriot Missiles for near falls. Late in the match, he hit a third for a three count!
"Wildfire" Tommy Rich vs. Les Thatcher Both men shook hands before this match, and wrestled a clean, technical match. Rich came out on top, winning with the Thesz Press. Again, Rich and Thatcher shook hands.
CPW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Semi Finals
Magnum TA vs. Yukon Eric Eric definitely looked worse for the wear after the opening round match against Warlord. He was favoring his lower back and Magnum capitalized. Magnum hit a Belly to Belly Suplex in short order to advance to the final.
The Patriot vs. "Wildfire" Tommy Rich Another match that began with handshakes. Both men left everything they had in the ring (and even some action outside the ring). The end came when the Patriot went for a deathjump, only to be stopped by Rich. Rich hit a superplex for the 1-2-3 and his ticket to the finals.
Exhibition Tag Team Match The Fantastics vs. PG-13 w/Jimmy Hart Despite Hart's best efforts to involve himself, tag team specialists The Fantastics used amazing teamwork and double team moves. Finally, Rogers and Fulton hit a double dropkick on Wolfie D, who bailed out. Hart decided that discretion was the better part of valor and took his men to the back, taking the count out loss.
CPW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Final Magnum TA vs. "Wildfire" Tommy Rich Again with the handshakes. These two fan favorites met in the center of the ring with the biggest prize in CPW on the line. It wasn't long before tempers flared and both men brawled. After a nasty tumble through the ropes to the arena floor, both men wound up wearing the crimson mask. In the end, Magnum went for a turnbuckle charge, but Rich bailed out. As Magnum rebounded out of the corner, Rich hit the Thesz Press for the three count and the win! Tommy "Wildfire" Rich is the very first CPW Heavyweight Champion! Magnum and Rich embraced and were joined by the Patriot and the Fantastics in celebration as the show comes to a close.

Championship Wrestling from Florida Fort Homer W. Hesterly Armory Tampa, FL January 20, 2017 Card #1
CWF Heavyweight Championship Tournament Opening Round
The Iron Sheik w/Ambassador Humperdink vs. "Leaping" Lanny Poffo The Iron Sheik made short work of Lanny, making him submit to the dreaded Camel Clutch. The Sheik looked to make a statement, continuing to apply the hold after the bell. He continued to keep Poffo in the hold until Lanny's father and brother, Angelo Poffo and Randy Savage, charged the ring. The Iron Sheik left with Humperdink in tow, with the Sheik saying, "I'll see you later, 'Macho!'"
Konnan vs. Angelo Poffo Lanny's condition seemed to be on Angelo's mind, as he never seemed to be focused on the match. Konnan laid him out with a somersault clothesline and locked in the Tequila Sunrise for the second Poffo tapout of the night.
"The Terrible Turk" Youssouf Ishmaelo w/Ambassador Humperdink vs. Cousin Luke Luke never saw what hit him. The Turk tore into him at the bell and never let up. Turk very nearly got himself disqualified for dragging Luke to the outside and slamming him onto the ring steps. Once back inside, Turk locked a bloody Luke in a Stranglehold and the ref stopped the match since Luke was unresponsive. Turk laughed after the bell, standing over his fallen opponent. One thing is for sure, Ambassador Humperdink's men are out to not only win, but to hurt people in the process.
"Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Doug Gilbert This was barely a match, as Savage put Gilbert away with four moves, finishing him off with the Flying Elbow Drop, setting up a showdown with the Terrible Turk.
CWF Heavyweight Championship Tournament Second Round
Iron Sheik w/Ambassador Humperdink vs. Konnan This match was a little more competitive for the Iron Sheik, but one kick from his loaded boot slowed Konnan's roll. After knocking him nearly unconscious with that kick, the Sheik hoisted Konnan up in a sidewinder suplex for the 1-2-3 and his ticket to the finals. This begs the question: what is Humperdink going to do if the Turk defeats Savage and his men have to face each other for the title?
The Terrible Turk w/Ambassador Humperdink vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage Turk picked up with Savage where he left off with Cousin Luke: he jumped him before the bell with every bit as much savagery as before, pun intended. Savage never even got his ring robe off, as the Turk continued his assault. Again, things went to the outside, where Turk slammed Savage back first into the ring post. He then delivered a vicious chair shot to Savage's back, causing the ref to call for the immediate DQ. Turk then lifted Savage up into a two-handed choke and slammed him through the ringside announcer's table! Humperdink finally called for the rest of his men, Iron Sheik and the Mongols to pull the Turk away, but the damage had been done. As Ambassador Humperdink and his army left the scene, he looked into the camera and pointed at his head with a wink and a smile. Had Turk's assault been all part of Humperdink's plan? To weaken Savage's back for the Sheik's Camel Clutch!?
Exhibition Match The Masked Superstars w/JJ Dillon vs. Stars and Stripes (The Patriot and Marcus Alexander Bagwell) Great back and forth match between two teams that will likely compete for the Southern States Tag Team Title. The Superstars came out on top when MS1 pinned Bagwell after the Spinning Neckbreaker.
CWF Heavyweight Championship Tournament Final
"Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. The Iron Sheik w/Ambassador Humperdink Savage most likely would have liked more time to recover, but it was showtime. Instead of his normal entrance, Savage came to the ring without his robe and sunglasses and made a beeline for the ring, ripping into the Iron Sheik the way Turk tore into him. Savage wore the Sheik down with knees, elbows, and punches. He was on a roll until he went for a bodyslam and his back buckled. The Sheik came crashing down on top of Savage and began putting the boots to him. He continued to work the obviously weakened back of Savage, and locked in a Boston Crab. Savage was in severe pain, but managed to reach the ropes, breaking the hold. Sheik went for the dreaded Camel Clutch, but Savage rolled out of the ring. Humperdink jumped on the apron and distracted the ref while his other men ran down the ramp, only to be intercepted by Angelo Poffo and Stars and Stripes! As those six men brawled on the outside, Savage blindsided the Iron Sheik with a devastating knee to the back, followed up with a kneedrop to the face and then climbed the turnbuckle! The Tampa crowd went ballistic as they knew what was next: Savage's patented Flying Elbow Drop and the three count! Savage was awarded his belt and celebrated with family and friends as Ambassador Humperdink and his men slunk to the back.

Continental Wrestling Association (CWA) Mid-South Coliseum Memphis, Tennessee Friday, January 27, 2017
CWA Heavyweight Championship Tournament Opening Round
Ted DiBiase vs. Tommy Gilbert The opening match of the tournament turned out to be a dud. DiBiase made short work of Gilbert, making him submit to the Figure Four Leglock.
Bill Dundee vs. Chris Candido w/Jimmy Hart Great high flying match between two of the smaller competitors in this tournament. Late in the match, Hart jumped up onto the apron to break up a pin attempt, and Dundee went after him. Candido saw his opening and tried to jump Dundee from behind. Dundee sidestepped the attack, and Candido and Hart slam heads. Dundee hit a Bombs Away for the three count.
Eddie Gilbert w/Jimmy Hart vs. Bob Roop Roop had the upper hand in strength and certainly in skill, but Gilbert more than made up for that with unpredictability and Hart. After being bounced around the ring by Roop, Gilbert finally got the upper hand and went for a Fireball! The ref saw it coming and yanked the lighter out of Gilbert's hand! Hart argued with the ref, but dropped his megaphone for Gilbert to lay Roop out! Gilbert makes the cover and gets the 1-2-3.
Terry Gordy vs. Hillbilly Jim These two big bulls were fairly matched in power, but Jim could not handle Gordy's offense. Gordy paired his Piledriver and Powerbomb finishers to advance.
Second Round
Ted DiBiase vs. "Superstar" Bill Dundee The crowd was clearly behind Dundee, and he took the early advantage. This match quickly degenerated into a brawl, and after DiBiase whipped Dundee into the ringpost, he threw him back inside, where a shot from his Loaded Glove knocked Dundee unconscious and the three count was academic.
Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy vs. "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert Gordy wasn't going to put up with either Gilbert or Hart's antics and laid down the law early. After a double noggin knocker put Hart out of commission, Gordy laid into Gilbert, putting him away with a Piledriver. And just like that, our finals are set, with DiBiase vs. Gordy.
Exhibition Match The Iron Sheik and the Mongols w/Ambassador Humperdink vs. The Poffo Family (Angelo and "Leaping" Lanny Poffo and "Macho Man" Randy Savage Great competitive, back and forth match. The only letdown was that the two alphas of the match, Iron Sheik and Savage, never hooked up. Savage nailed Geto with his Flying Elbow Drop and scored the win for his team.
Finals
Ted DiBiase vs. Terry "Bamm Bamm" Gordy Earlier rounds may not have shown DiBiase to be the consummate heel, but he was playing that part here. DiBiase knew he needed every dirty trick in the book to overcome Gordy, and he used all of them. Still, it was not enough to overcome the power and violence of Gordy. Gordy incapacitated DiBiase with the Asiatic Spike and then delivered a vicious Piledriver to become the first CWA Champion!

Big Time Wrestling from Detroit Cobo Hall Detroit, MI Friday, February 3, 2017
Big Time Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Tournament Opening Round
Bobo Brazil vs. "Exotic" Adrian Street w/Miss Linda Who better than the big man from Benton Harbor, Michigan to kick off the first show! Brazil, arguably the most popular wrestler ever in the Detroit area did not disappoint. Street and Miss Linda did all they could to derail the big man, but Brazil was not to be denied. Street fell victim to a pair of Coco Butts and Brazil got the W.
Sabu vs. Dan "The Beast" Severn Sabu also received a huge pop, and came out on fire, his high risk offense keeping Severn off balance. Unfortunately for Sabu, there's a reason it's called high risk. Sabu missed a Triple Jump Moonsault, and that's all the opening Severn needed. He locked in the Wakigatame right in the center of the ring and Sabu had no choice but to tap.
Rob Van Dam vs. George "The Animal" Steele w/Abdullah Farouk This was the most competitive match of the first round. While it was the classic matchup between speed and strength, both men added an element of unpredictability. When the action spilled to the arena floor, Steele took over. After a few slams on the concrete floor, Steele went in for the kill. Farouk got the ref's attention while the Animal grabbed a steel chair. This, however, proved to be RVD's path to victory, as he connected with a nasty Van Daminator, opening up a nasty gash on Steele's forehead. RVD rolled him into the ring and hit a textbook Five Star Frog Splash and advanced to the second round.
The Sheik w/Abdullah Farouk vs. "Iron" Mike DiBiase This match was all the Sheik. DiBiase mounted a short offense, but was stopped in his tracks by the Sheik's trusty pencil. After busting DiBiase open, the Sheik punished him for a few minutes before locking in the Camel Clutch and getting the submission win.
Big Time Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Tournament Second Round
Bobo Brazil vs. Dan "The Beast" Severn Brazil came out brawling while Severn tried to wrestle. It didn't take long before a couple Coco Butts wore Severn down for the three count and Brazil moved on to the final.
Rob Van Dam vs. The Sheik w/Abdullah Farouk RVD impressed in this match, controlling the tempo from bell to bell. Unfortunately, he got carried away and attempted a Van Daminator and got caught, getting himself DQ'ed in the process. That means, fittingly, that the finals are set, with Bobo Brazil facing the Sheik!
Big Time Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Tournament Final
Bobo Brazil vs. The Sheik w/Abdullah Farouk Like hundreds of times before, Brazil and the Sheik met in the center of the ring with a belt on the line. Both men know the other well, predicting their moves ahead of time. Naturally, the action spilled to the outside, and the ref, knowing exactly what was on the line, gave the two combatants a lot of leeway. In the end, Brazil connected with a pair of Coco Butts and got the win over his arch nemesis. Bobo Brazil is the Big Time Wrestling Heavyweight Champion!!

Lonestar State Wrestling (LSW) Card #1 LSW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Saturday, February 4, 2017 Dallas Sportatorium Dallas, TX
LSW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Opening Round
Mil Mascaras vs. Dr. Tom Prichard The Doctor is a pretty good hand in the ring, but he's no match for the "Man of 1,000 Masks." Mascaras makes him tap to the Octopus Hold.
Blackjack Mulligan vs. Pepper Gomez Mulligan looked strong in this one. He came out swinging and stayed on top. After drilling Gomez with a crippling lariat, he followed up with the dreaded Clawhold and got the submission win.
Don Leo Jonathan vs. Fritz Von Goering Basically another squash. Jonathan held the advantage nearly bell to bell, putting the wily German away with a back splash.
Bruiser Brody vs. Sam Houston Poor Sam Houston never saw what hit him. Brody steamrolled over him, finishing him off with a big boot. The first round ends without any surprises.
LSW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Second Round
Mil Mascaras vs. Blackjack Mulligan The second round kicks off with a sight upset, as the big man from Sweetwater turned it up a notch and brutalized the masked man. Mulligan finished Mascaras off with a lariat and advanced to the finals.
Don Leo Jonathan vs. Bruiser Brody Battle of the big men! Both men came out ready to fight, and exchanged the advantage often. Both men wore the crimson mask before this match was over, but Brody came out on top, finally winning with the Flying Knee Drop.
LSW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Final
Blackjack Mulligan vs. Bruiser Brody Another big man brawl. Brody came out with his forehead wrapped up in bandages and Mulligan took advantage, targeting the already damaged area. With the bandages and stitches ripped away, Brody was a bloody mess quickly. After a brawl on the outside, Brody took back the advantage, whipping Mulligan into the ring steps. Once back inside, Brody delivered his patented Flying Knee Drop, 1..2..kickout!! Everyone in the arena, including Brody, looked shocked, but he didn't let it distract him, as he delivered a second bonecrushing Knee Drop and then got the 1-2-3!
Bruiser Brody is the Lonestar State Wrestling Heavyweight Champion!

OGWA Missouri Heavyweight Championship Tournament
Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon vs. Brad Armstrong Vachon made short work of Armstrong, roughing him up with a combination of amateur wrestling holds and brawling techniques. After bloodying him with some bites to the forehead, a Piledriver put Armstrong away.
Antonio Inoki vs. Bobby Shane Inoki, a favorite to make a deep run in this tournament, looked good in the early goings, but Shane had other ideas. After Shane drilled Inoki between the eyes with a shot from his loaded knee pad, Inoki looked to be knocked unconscious. After that, Shane locked in a Japanese Sleeper, but it was all a formality at this point. The ref called for the bell and Shane scores a major upset.
Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupre vs. "Cowboy" Bob Orton This was a pretty even matchup until some well-timed interference by Cherie lead to George blindsiding Orton and following up with the Spinning Toehold for the win.
Lou Thesz vs. Paul "Butcher" Vachon w/Mad Dog Vachon Mad Dog accompanied his brother to the ring for this one, but it didn't make any difference. Butcher bit off more than he could chew, as Thesz tied him up like a pretzel before finishing him off with a Greco Roman Backdrop. As the ref raised Thesz's hand in victory, Mad Dog entered the ring and delivered a vicious chop block from behind! Butcher then joined in and the Vachons put the boots to Thesz until Inoki and Armstrong ran in and made the save. Thesz was shaky on his feet as he was helped up. Will this affect Thesz in the later rounds?
OGWA Missouri Heavyweight Championship Tournament Second Round
Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon w/Butcher Vachon vs. Bobby Shane This seemed less a battle to win a wrestling match as it was a battle to see who could do so more underhandedly. Just when it seemed that Shane was going for his loaded knee pad shot, Butcher grabbed his leg through the ropes. When Shane turned his attention to Butcher, Mad Dog pounced! He followed up with his patented Piledriver and just like that, the Mad Dog is in the finals.
Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupre vs. Lou Thesz If the Vachons' attack had any lasting damage, Thesz didn't show it here. He dominated George, pinning him in under a minute with a Thesz Press. Thesz left the ring seemingly in a hurry, possibly not wanting to give the Vachons another chance to attack.
Exhibition Match Rob Van Dam and Sabu vs. The Mongols w/Ambassador Humperdink This match's position in the card was to give Thesz and Mad Dog a chance to catch their breath, but it didn't last long, as RVD pinned Geeto after a Five Star Frog Splash. However, during the match, we cut to a camera backstage, where we see Butcher Vachon trapped in Lou Thesz's STF! Thesz releases the hold and gets up from Butcher's prone form and says, "Let's see you interfere now..."
OGWA Missouri Heavyweight Championship Tournament Final Lou Thesz vs. Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon Without having to worry about Butcher interfering, Thesz was free to go one-on-one with Mad Dog. Again, Mad Dog's unpredictable combination of amateur wrestling skills and insane brawling kept his opponent off balance, but Thesz, arguably the greatest wrestler of all time, would not be denied. Thesz hit the Greco Roman Backdrop on Vachon for a 2 count! He followed up with a pair of Thesz Presses for the 1-2-3! Lou Thesz is the OGWA Missouri Heavyweight Champion!!

Windy City Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Tournament Opening Round
Frank Gotch vs. Boris Zhukov Zhukov charged Gotch at the bell, but he might've bitten off more than he could chew. Gotch tied him in knots before eventually trapping him in the Gotch Toehold for the tapout victory. Zhukov's partner, Nikolai Volkoff, stormed the ring, but Gotch bailed out before the Russians could use the numbers game to their advantage. Volkoff and Zhukov stayed at ringside, as big Nikolai was in the next matchup.
Nikolai Volkoff w/Boris Zhukov vs. The Crusher Not a lot of actual wrestling holds in this one. This was mostly a brawl, and late in the match, while Volkoff distracted the ref, Zhukov delivered a nasty head butt to Crusher's face. As the Crusher tried to shake the cobwebs, he walked right into Nikolai, who dropped him throat first across the top rope and got a slightly shocking 1-2-3!
One Man Gang vs. Adam Pearce This match was much more competitive than it may have looked on paper. Pearce hung in there, but the Gang's sheer size was more than Pearce could handle. One Man Gang wins with the 747 Splash.
"The Russian Lion" George Hackenschmidt vs. D'Lo Brown Hackenschmidt's power was too much for Brown, as the Russian Lion suplexed him all over the ring before locking in the Russian Bear Hug. Not even D'Lo's vest could save him, and he was forced to submit.
Windy City Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Tournament Second Round
Frank Gotch vs. Nikolai Volkoff Gotch was placed in the unenviable position of having to deal with the Russians in consecutive rounds. An angry Zhukov even accompanied his comrade to ringside. It was a classic battle of power vs. agility and skill, and Gotch came out on top. Just like Round 1, Gotch made a Russian tap to the Gotch Toehold. After the bell, Zhukov attacked and the two Russians double teamed Gotch. They took turns punching and kicking Gotch in the midsection, wearing his ribs out. Volkoff hoisted Gotch up into a crushing bear hug and refused to release the hold. Zhukov continued to add insult to injury, striking Gotch with head butts until George Hackenschmidt made the save! Hack chased off Volkoff and Zhukov and then helped Gotch to his feet, and then prepared for his opponent, heading down the aisle!
One Man Gang vs. "The Russian Lion" George Hackenschmidt Hackenschmidt may be one of the most powerful men to ever lace up a pair of boots, but he has never faced anyone the size of the One Man Gang. Gang used his size to his advantage and bullied Hackenschmidt in a way he'd probably never been bullied before. Shockingly, in an amazing feat of strength, Hackenschmidt picked the huge Gang up in a waistlock slam and followed up with a nasty wristlock suplex. Hackenschmidt hooked the leg and got the shocking 1-2-3! This sets up the finals, a rematch of one of the biggest matches ever in Chicago wrestling history: Frank Gotch vs. George Hackenschmidt!
Exhibition Match: The Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering vs. The Love Brothers The Road Warriors completely destroyed the Love Brothers, who barely got any offense in. Hawk mercifully pinned Hartford after a bone crushing Doomsday Device.
Windy City Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Tournament Final Frank Gotch vs. "The Russian Lion" George Hackenschmidt These two men put on a scientific wrestling clinic for several minutes, with both men jockeying for position, although Gotch was favoring his ribs after the assault by the Russians. Reversal after reversal, counter after counter. Heel hook, armbar, leglock, neck crank, hammerlock. If there's a submission move out there, it was attempted. Then, about 25 minutes in, the Russians showed up again, waving the Soviet flag. As Volkoff stomped all over the ringside area, Hackenschmidt reached over the top rope and snatched the flag away. While the ref had his hands full ejecting the Russians, Hackenschmidt shocked everyone by delivering a crushing blow to Gotch's injured ribs with the flagpole. Gotch fell to the mat and Hackenschmidt struck two more times as the fans booed. Hackenschmidt then hoisted Gotch up into the Russian Bear Hug as the ref returned his attention to the match. Gotch passed out from the excruciating pain, and his hand dropped three times, signifying a victory for Hackenschmidt. Volkoff and Zhukov returned to the ring and threw Hackenschmidt up on their shoulders while they saluted and sang the Russian national anthem as the ring filled up with trash from the angry crowd.
