Revival #2: Eclipse Tournament
from Pier Six Pavilion (Baltimore, MD)
- Bravo Bracket -
Curt Hennig vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan
Curt Hennig defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan via disqualification at 3:05
Match Rating: 0.00 (dud)
Match Notes: Duggan owns this brief encounter from start to finish. Hennig plays a skilled game of cat and mouse to avoid getting nailed by his opponent's hard hitting blows. Growing more agitated by the second, Duggan pitches Hennig over the top rope. The ref warns Duggan to remain inside the ring to no avail. Duggan repeatedly rams his opponent into the rails until the ref has seen enough and Hennig is awarded a technical decision. To the delight of the crowd, Duggan picks up his 2X4 and chases Hennig away from the ring. (Fatigue: n/a)

Bruiser Brody vs. Greg Valentine (w/ The Dark Menace)
Greg Valentine defeated Bruiser Brody via submission at 1:28
Match Rating: 0.10 (squash)
Match Notes: The Dark Menace remains a little shaken up from being attacked by Jimmy Snuka at Revival #1, but Valentine reassures him that they now have an extra pair of eyes watching their back. While climbing into the ring, Brody spends too much time glaring at the devious manager at ringside. Valentine exploits the opening and wastes no time in pushing his advantage. He rocks Brody with a series of trademark Valentine chops. Dropping Brody to the mat, Valentine swiftly twists his legs into a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Trapped in the middle of the ring, Brody endures as long as he can, but eventually surrenders (snake eyes) to the pain. (Fatigue: n/a)
A subtle gesture from The Dark Menace brings Brutus Beefcake racing to the ring. He joins Valentine in the ring and the Dream Team commence with a vicious beatdown on Brody. With spit flying, Brody fights back and grabs his chain. As soon as he starts swinging, the trio wisely retreats to the back. Brody stands alone in the center of the ring. 'HUSS! HUSS!'
- Bravo Bracket -
Gorgeous George (w/ Cherie Dupre) vs. Randy Savage
Gorgeous George defeated Randy Savage via submission at 5:07
Match Rating: 1.00
Match Notes: Coming off his big win over DiBiase on the previous show, Savage soaks in the cheers from the fans while perched on the second rope. He opens up with a fierce offensive, nailing George with an elbow to the head and a neckbreaker clothesline. George rolls out to the floor and Savage immediately gives chase. Thanks to a well timed distraction by his valet, George lands a low blow. Savage struggles to get back into the ring and George pounces. Smoothly transitioning from ROLLING HIPLOCKS to a SPINNING TOE HOLD, George keeps the pressure on until Savage is forced to tap out. (Fatigue: Savage 3)
- Alpha Bracket -
Buddy Rogers vs. Rob Van Dam
Buddy Rogers defeated Rob Van Dam via pinfall at 2:20
Match Rating: 0.50
Match Notes: On his way to the ring, Rogers is brutally attacked by Kevin Steen. Angry that Rogers struck him with a chair during their previous encounter, Steen decides to even the score. Security arrives to escort Steen to the back and Rogers tells the ref that he wants the scheduled match to proceed.
RVD capitalizes on the advantage, nailing Rogers with a legdrop across the guardrail. Tossing his opponent into the ring, RVD moves in for the quick kill. He whips Rogers to the ropes, but drops his head too soon. Rogers counters with a perfectly executed knee to the face and then rolls RVD into a pinning combination, using the ropes for additional leverage. The ref does not notice and Rogers steals the win. (Fatigue: RVD 1)
- Bravo Bracket -
Bobo Brazil vs. Iron Sheik
Bobo Brazil defeated Iron Sheik via disqualification at 6:42
Match Rating: 1.50
Match Notes: What begins as a solid back and forth exchange slowly starts to slip from Sheik's grasp. Brazil displays a solid mix of power and speed, knocking his opponent around with flying dropkicks and a big hammer punch. Sheik gets in a few shots of his own. When he attempts to apply an abdominal stretch, Brazil plants him hard with a Bobo body slam. After getting struck by the COCO BUTT for a second time, it becomes evident that Sheik is in real trouble. Nikolai Volkoff runs in to save his longtime ally. He drags Brazil out of the ring before he can make the cover and the ref immediately calls for the bell. (Fatigue: Sheik 3)
- Alpha Bracket -
Kevin Steen vs. Lou Thesz
Lou Thesz defeated Kevin Steen via pinfall at 5:39
Match Rating: 1.50
Match Notes: If Steen is feeling any effects from his earlier assault on Buddy Rogers, it certainly does not show. He tears into Thesz with reckless abandon, obviously wanting to make short work of his technically proficient opponent. A superkick followed by a fisherman buster onto a knee fails to keep Thesz off his feet. Thesz counters a hard elbow smash by taking Steen to the mat with a rolling short arm scissors. Steen gets free of a double wristlock and lures Thesz out to the floor, intent on taking the fight to his kind of place. Thesz surprises Steen by bouncing his head off the ringpost and tossing him back into the ring. A GRECO-ROMAN DROP followed by a THESZ PRESS is enough to keep Steen down for a three count. (Fatigue: Steen 2)
- Bravo Bracket -
AJ Styles vs. Ted DiBiase
AJ Styles defeated Ted DiBiase via pinfall at 2:47
Match Rating: 1.00
Match Notes: For a moment, Styles seems to consider DiBiase's offer to throw the match for an obscene sum of cash. While Styles counts the money, DiBiase turns to the crowd with a menacing laugh. With a shrug, Styles tries to blindside DiBiase with a kick below the belt. DiBiase moves just in time to thwart the intended cheap shot and works Styles over with some well placed strikes of his own. A vertical suplex leads to a cover, but Styles kicks out at one. DiBiase telegraphs a knee lift, allowing Styles to rebound off the ropes with a wicked forearm. Before DiBiase can regain his senses, Styles delivers the STYLES CLASH and turns him over for the win. (Fatigue: Styles 1)
- Alpha Bracket -
Harley Race vs. Jimmy Snuka
Harley Race defeated Jimmy Snuka via disqualification at 11:36
Match Rating: 3.50
Match Notes: Both men unload with everything they have in this intense encounter. Snuka goes for a high risk maneuver, but Race catches him with a head butt to the midsection on his way down. A VERTICAL SUPLEX by Race leads to a near fall. Snuka reverses a whip to the ropes and pounds Race with a backbreaker. Without breaking stride, he lands the SUPERFLY LEAP. Race gets his shoulder up just in time! The fight spills out to the floor and tempers flare. Race ducks an oncoming chop and Snuka accidentally strikes the ref instead. Snuka does himself no favors when he raises his fist and starts barking at the ref for getting in the way. Wearing a sly grin, Race leaves with an important victory. (Fatigue: Race 2 - Snuka 1)
