It airs here Fridays on AXS. Blows everything WWE is doing out of the water. Same way I see it...not happy that it is mostly a year behind on AXS, but it is better than not getting it at all on TV. The in ring performance is so far beyond the E that it isn't even funny. It good stuff. Have yet to watch the Omega vs. Okada, but will soon. Omega is a great performer...he character is top notch, maybe none better. Well, it's not gonna lag that far behind for the next few weeks. The next four weeks are all WPW Returns episodes centered around 1/4. Okada/Omega, albeit a HEAVILY clipped version, airs this week.

Yep, I saw that announced. DVR is set...actually always set to record the new shows each week! MAYBE, if there is enough viewership it will get them to accelerate and get a bit closer to actual happenings. a few months behind would be better than a year... I have no insight, but I am HOPING that it will get to that as the interest rises AND viewership increases. I also HOPE that the cable provider in Pittsburgh carries AXS so I can keep tuned in...I am one of those old fashioned viewers...like it on TV over streaming online...which I know you can do on TV, just a slow old guy when it comes to that kind of entertainment...

The thing with NJ on AXS is that it's basically just dubbed over episodes of WPW Returns from Japan and that show tends to lag a bit behind in Japan as well. It's not a huge lag like it is here, but generally what we get here is usually only 3 months or so behind what's airing on WPW Returns in Japan. AXS coverage on cable seems pretty spotty but it is on DirecTV.

This week's episode of NJ on AXS doesn't seem to be WPW Returns dubbed over. Means we're probably gonna get most of the Okada/Omega match. I figured they were going to clip a significant chunk of it.

Turns out we got all of the Okada/Omega match thanks to some really smartly timed commercial breaks. Given that there were no WPW Returns bumpers and the intro was totally different, it appears that the WK11 TV specials on AXS are completely original shows rather than being dubbed over WPW Returns episodes which are pretty much all AXS has shown for the last two years. Hopefully enough people watch these and we get more current stuff aired on AXS in the future.

Watched the match this morning from AXS' broadcast and glad to see that it was the whole match and not too much many commercial breaks (although fast forward takes care of those pesky breaks!)
I haven't come out of my seat for a wrestling match in a long time, but I did for this one...and more than once. It is easily right there with the Steamboat/Savage WMIII as one of the he top matches of all time. I would be hard pressed to call to mind a WWE match from the past 5 years that would come close. (WWE is way too concerned with the out of ring story to let two of their stars put on an in ring story like that...)
-----
So I have to go on record about a few moves:
- The Super-Dragon Suplex that Okada took - how he kept going, I don't know. - The Reverse Hurican-rana that Okada also took...great sell by Okada*.- Omega's Springboard Moonsault to the floor...yep...not much needed to say on that one...AWESOME. - That last Rainmaker Closthesline - devastating (Omega sold it well too)! - Omega's Powerbomb -> Doctorbomb combo - don't really need to say much... - Okada's Gladiator Piledriver! MOSNTER! I reatched that move 4 or 5 times to make sure that I my eyes did not deceive me. I call it the Gladiator Piledriver because Tom once described that move at GalactiCon as a "twisting" piledriver...while I actually think he meant that the individual on the receiving end was being spun on the way down. Okada with the jumping spin on that tombstone...it was a great climax move.
*The Reverse Hurican-rana IS MY NEW MOST FAVORITE MOVE IN PROWRESTLING...not just Omega's, but everyone who is doing it...I think Dragon Azteca was the first I saw use it on Lucha Underground and I am pretty sure Matt Sydal has hit a few in RoH. The fact that the human body is not supposed to flip that way...for the reciepient...is what makes the move so visually spectacular. I am excited to se who is going to bring that move to the GWF!!!!
If you have not seen this match...it is well worth the time it takes to do so...it really is that good.
