Yes! It is a rip-off of the defunct DREAM MMA promotion from Japan, but, I loved the name since we are sharing feds that involve dream matchups and fantasy booking...thus the name DREAM!
I've been spinning my wheels trying to get everything set for this federation. I just received my first order of cards on Thursday February 2nd and have been reading the boards trying to determine how I wanted to run my promotion. I finally decided that one system didn't fit perfectly, so I'm doing an amalgamation of them. I hope I can be very brief and explain this clearly so that I can get finishing the first card and reporting on it.
Salary - Talent will be given 3-month contracts by default. The total value of the contract is (10 - PIN Rating) x $10,000 over 3 months. Wrestlers can be signed for an additional premium up to 12 months. I'm still working on a special appearance fee for guys not on the roster...not sure how to do that just yet
Roster Size - Right now the roster is at 26. I have about 18 singles competitors and 4 tag-teams. I'm hoping to get more depth in the tag division so they won't be featured a ton early on in the hopes that I don't burn out the reader with such a small tag division
Titles - Major title is the DREAM World Championship, Minor title is the DREAM TV Championship which will have a "fighting champion" that will defend the title each week and of course we will have a DREAM Tag Team Championship
Gate Receipts - Using a multi-step system here. First, we will be using fatigue tokens for every kick-out of a pin. Plus, we will also keep track of each out of the ring, specialty move, Add 1 and final pin to win the match. For each match we will add these up and count them as tokens. The most I have had thus far is 11 tokens...mostly I've hit in the 7 range though. After all of these are added for all matches on the card, I will multiply by 1,110 for the gate receipts (I hijacked this from another user...as I said, this whole thing is an amalgamation of everyone's ideas). There will also be bonus money for match rating. The tokens will then be divided by 2 at the end of the match for a match rating. Poor matches can actually cost money and deduct from the gate receipt total and great matches can add to it. PPV and Supershows will be doubled.
Arena Cost - I will also be using a system that factors in the cost of renting an arena for a show. This will be deducted from the final gate receipt + bonus total.
Payroll - Payroll is paid out at the end of each month as a one time transaction.
Funds - The starting budget for DREAM Wrestling is $4 million USD. This figure is also from another user (Graymar I believe)
Schedule - There will be 1 show per week with a PPV/Supershow at the end of each month making a total of 60 cards annually...not all talent will be used on all cards either.
Finally, I'm hoping to have fun with this. We all know it's a work, but, I'm hoping to keep it somewhat Kayfabe in my reporting and just have fun with it. I love wrestling and I'm by no means a booker, so if I have some weird matchups or things that seem off...be gentle lol...I'm open to any and all constructive criticism to make this realistic and fun. At the same time, we should all remember we are operating on a suspended plane of reality with this. There will be a mix of eras and guys who are no loner with us involved in this fed.
Again, I've been a part of this community for a short time and many people have been incredibly helpful. I just got my first cards last week and I've had other members share "bootleg" cards with me to help expand my roster till I can acquire new cards. So please don't hesitate to share ideas on how I can make this better. This is really just a fun outlet for me and I'm looking forward to sharing my experience with you all.
