Is this something people would be interested in, or something that FG have discussed internally? I've wondered about this since the LOW relaunch, since you could do sets for promotions like ECW or Mid Atlantic or Watts UWF or even the AWA. It'd give us expansions where everyone had a purpose and they're all relative to one another, which would make starting feds geared towards those specific styles much easier.
For example, an ECW eight pack could consist of Jerry Lynn, Sandman, Steve Corino, Scorpio, Sabu, Mikey Whipwreck, Justin Credible and Chris Candido. With those eight cards, there's a ton of possibilities. Lynn could feud with RVD, Corino or Credible. Corino could form the team with Credible or feud with him, he could also feud with Sandman. Sabu and RVD could team, or feud, or Sabu could feud with Scorpio or Sandman. Mikey and Sandman could feud, or Mikey could beef with Candido. Credible could feud with Lynn, or Sandman, or Corino or Sabu. With those eight cards, in addition to RVD, you'd have a really solid base for an ECW type promotion. A Mid Atlantic set could have guys like the Midnights and Fantastics plus Johnny Valentine and Blackjack. A Watts set could have One Man Gang, Gordy, Williams, Duggan, DiBiase and Magnum TA.
Do you guys think there's potential for this concept or would you rather get the traditional mix of names from different eras/feds?

I doubt they would do this since they never say promotion names anywhere like AWA, ECW, etc.

I like the idea and a workaround would be really easy.

This is totally the idea we were discussing of using for the Legends expansions. Not 100% sure if its what we will go with, but its the option I am suggesting.

very cool idea even if you have to call them other names because there are just territories great for such things (Memphis, ECW, Mid South).

I have no problem with themed set releases but I REALLY hope we that doesn't mean that every champ from each territory is closely ranked to each other. I liked the old way LOW was ranked with the guys that were clearly the international heroes being the highest ranked, national heroes a bit down from that, local legends down a bit from that, then mid-carders and way down from them... the enhancement guys. IMO we only have a few guys that should be near Lou Thesz's level. I've never been too much of a fan of when the indy guys are better than guys who were at the top of the NWA for decades, though I understand why it is done from a business standpoint.
BUT it would be really cool to get an Extreme set with Sandman, Sabu, Jerry Lynn (though we already have a color JL in ROH), Justin Credible, Steve Corino, Al Snow, Danny Doring, Roadkill, etc.
Instead of calling something AWA or whatever... you could call it Midwest Legends. Guys that made a big splash in Japan like Dr. Death, Terry Gordy, etc. could be in a Rising Sun Legends or something... And it would be killer if a few new legends were able to be mixed in to each set so we were getting more than just updates. Looking forward to when we start to see teasers / announcements for LOW!
