I definitely hope to see you there, Vegas, both because you made it and I did as well.

I definitely hope to see you there, Vegas, both because you made it and I did as well. yeah, living on the West Coast can make it difficult to get there sometimes 2 years ago when Galacticon was in Cleveland, I was uncertain until 1 or 2 days before Galacticon started that I could go because I unexpectedly lost my Summer job which I was depending on for the funds to get there, but I still made it last year in Philadelphia, I had no question I would make it there as I had both the funds and no work schedule to work around this year in western New York, I have the money to go but I have to get that Friday off from my Summer administrator so I will not know one way or the other for at least 2 weeks. But the good news is that they are changing my work calendar so that in the future my regular work year starts in mid August but ends before Memorial Day which means any future Summer work would also end earlier too- so in other words if I can't go this year then at least it looks good for making it every year in the future. Troy, hope to see you and everybody else at Galacticon next month!

I may know as early as Monday if I can go to Galacticon because Monday is the day of orientation for my Summer work assignment. If I can go, I plan to fly out Thursday night after work and land in Buffalo and then the next day in Buffalo do some sightseeing (my friend at work who is from Buffalo told me today that Niagara Falls is only 10 minutes outside of Buffalo) for a few hours before having lunch at the Anchor Bar (my friend from Buffalo also said "don't call them buffalo wings in Buffalo because they will murder you there") and then driving down to Jamestown with the intention of getting there before 5 that night.

Hey Vegas, I'm 5 minutes from the airport you are landing at. The Falls are about 15 minutes from the airport & Jamestown is around an hour. LaNova's is the popular place for pizza. Picasso's is good too. And Just Pizza is right down the street. Not much (outside of the falls) for sightseeing, but we have good food! Need anything when u get in LMK

I think going to anchor bar is a great tourist thing to do in Buffalo. 4 years ago I went there on Sunday after Gcon with Louden Noxious and Jeff G. I must say we were a bit disappointed by the wings there. On the way back to Jersey we stopped at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Elmira to watch Money in the Bank and actually enjoyed those wings more I'm sorry to say. Hopefully all of Buffalo doesn't ban me for saying that.

Anchor Bar gets a lot of hype. TM is right. Duffs too. The bars and pizzerias have wings just as good (or better). There's a place called Sal's that has real good wings (& different from everywhere else around here) that's 7-10 minutes from the airport.

Well thanks to a great promoter, I have sold my cards so I have the money to go to G-Con so I just need to sort out the last bit of where to go to get to Jamestown and go from there. Looking forward to meeting new promoters and old friends and seeing Tom and Jamestown again.

I am not surprised to hear that the Anchor Bar is getting some bad reviews as the Anchor Bar recently opened up a location here in Las Vegas at the Venetian but it completely failed and closed soon afterward. Yet my friend I work with from Buffalo swears by the place so if I get to go to Galacticon I may just have to check the Anchor Bar out to give it my own opinion one way or the other. The best wings I ever ate were from a place called the Stakeout here in Las Vegas-it is a Buffalo Bills bar and the owner is from Buffalo and I used to go there almost daily when I went to UNLV as it was located between campus and my apartment across the street on Maryland Parkway and everyday at happy hour 6 Buffalo wings from Buffalo were only $1.50 and a glass of beer was only $1.00 (and every Friday the wings were free from 4-6 PM.) 18 years later, the Anchor Bar here came and quickly died but the Stakeout is still going strong. If I am able to make it to Galacticon next month, I definitely need to stop somewhere in Buffalo first for wings before driving down to Jamestown.
