Determination pays off, @kevinb ... Congratulations on your GalactiCup victory, my friend... Well deserved! Thank you sir, much appreciated. You'd better plan well and attend one soon, so I know you're 'real'. The only issue with my job is that once leave cycles are picked (which is done near the end of the preceding year), it's extremely difficult to make any changes... I'm gonna hope that I can predict the timeframe of next year's Con and choose accordingly... Fingers crossed!

WARNING THIS POST MAY CONTAIN 2133 AND OTHER SPOILERS.
CONGRATS BUTCHER!!
Rolled back in town late last night about 1am. What a weekend.
Arrived in Jamestown Friday afternoon w Matt. Had a bit if a migraine (uhg) at the bar and it only grew worse that night as I nursed a few too many beers while mingling with old and new friends and discussing the new set (I drink about 0-3 beers a month on average, and I drank about 7 Friday night). Had a great time watching men braver than I - Jack and Kingsley - sing karaoke. Shared a couple beers with my bros Mr. Vegas, Tom and Todd, then called it a night so we could prep for the Con. Back at the hotel, I ended up taking migraine meds that are basically caffeine pills. So, I basically spent late Friday night staying up wide awake with a migraine watching The Sixth Sense in a hotel room in Jamestown lol
Slept like shit, woke up about 8 and puked my balls off from a combo of those caffeine pills, the migraine and the shitty beer. Then BOOM - puke rally. Took a shower and felt like a million bucks. Finally, I could begin enjoying Galacticon.
Played with two of the 2133 cards in the GWF 2133 Tournament, Kill Prey and Overtime. Beat Burning Man with OT, then lost to Patch. Kill Prey beat Totalis by DQ, beat Euritar, then got mauled by MONOLITH. Kill Prey has a real cool new mechanic where once the opponent has accumulated 3 tokens, Kill Prey can hit his +2 finisher from both level 2 and level 3 offense. And he beat Euritar w that level 2 finisher. Will be interesting to see how he does in our feds.
Did nothing in the other tournaments. Had the new Probation card in the Canada Cup and went 0-3 vs. Eydilon, Overtime and Aethran Overmaster. Butcher had a lot more success than I with Probation in the 2133 tournament.
Some of the big announcements:
New LOW and ROH sets this winter. Mr. Vegas announced a big signing that will be in one if these sets (I'll let him announce it here if he likes). Tom announced a controversial Indy signing who will be getting a new card soon, and Black Sheep Bennett Cole will be getting a new card soon too.
Sam Luptak asked Tom about the idea for another Promoter Madness type set where you the fans create the characters, and Tom said yes! The early blue print is to do a promoter created set for FTR, with characters who can be used as enhancement talent vs the main GWF roster, then have a fun little FTR fed among themselves w guys on that level of Pulsar, Mutant, Vanity, Creeper, Ghrengis Khan, Man-Mountain etc...more details once things at fed headquarters are sorted out!
In a HUGE block buster, Tom unveiled news for another GWF spin off on Centra using the departed Future Shock guys. Lastly, 4 more Kronos cards coming this year too. So A LOT going on for COTG fans right now.
Had a wonderful time catching up with new and old pals - Matt, Butcher, Pete Beck, Fortune, Alex, Broc + wife Diana, I believe, Sam, new buddy Gainer, new buddy w awesome Avengers shirt who I thought was Will, but isn't, Wible + friend Kathy, Jim Steel, Troy, Tom, Jack, Todd, Smoke, Fire, Steinerhoff, Daytona Dave (welcome to the UBU), long time bros Josh Ramel (always hysterical) and Jeff Reno and new buddy super generous Buffalo Mike!!!
Started my 2133 Perennial, finishing my double elimination tag team title gauntlet, Champs Fist and Probation rolled over a bunch of teams, winning it all to retain, beating Security Squad (who they had lost to earlier in the gauntlet) in the final match. Probation pinned Overtime w NO SURRENDER to win it.
More 2133 news as Todd and I discussed with GCON attendees an idea for a LIVE GWF 2133 Champions Poll right here in the board! Much like our '2132 Wrestler of the Year' poll, the idea is to create three 2133 polls, one for your GWF Galaxian Champion, one for your Interplanetary Champion and women's champions, and one for your Tag Team Champions. Anytime you have a title change, you punch in your champ in the poll! Title change? No problem. Vote for your new champion! The result is a LIVE snap shot for fans to see who the greatest champions are at any given time across the board in everyone's feds!! Fans in attendance enjoyed the idea, and if fans here do too, there are plans to expand this idea for other GWF years, and even LOW so everyone can get in on the fun! Remember, this will be a snap shot of live champions, not full rankings. A compliment to Toasterboy's current rankings that he does here. Any questions or comments about this idea let us know!!
Tom discussed Online a bit too. I'll let him elaborate but he has both short term and long term plans for it. Interestingly, only Troy at GCON plays online. Rest were card and dicers. Made me think maybe once Online is back up and running, maybe an Online convention for online players to coincide w GCON each year could be put together.
I'm ready to get back to my fed today!!! Hope I didn't forget anyone or anything!!!
Until next year -
Swarm
PS: Todd said dates and location for next years GCON will be announced around January, so plenty of time to plan ahead.

Enjoyed the recap Swarm. Your "rally" was classic....getting old's tough at times, but glad the tried and true methods for recovery are still there for us all. Sounds like another fun time for everyone. Some fun stuff ahead as well!

I'm wondering who a controversial indy signing could be.

On my way home now with a stopover in Chicago.
Before I drove down from Buffalo on Friday I went to lunch with J and Tim Dalton at Duffs for wings which were great. Thanks to Tim for lunch, I owe him some beers when he comes back to the CAC next May.
I missed the comic book shop tournament but enjoyed drinking some beers (and thanks to Smoke and his son for those slices of pizza) with everyone on Friday night. But when I got back to the hotel afterward I just immediately crashed and did not even change from my jeans into my sweats or even take out my contacts.
Saturday at the convention I started losing almost every match but made it to the semifinals with Buddy Rogers (I am surprised he was still there when I picked at #10) and was the last one eliminated in the trivia contest which was won by Tournament Master after I got two strikes on him. I got some questions correct such as who ran the Infinity Challenge, what was the name of the special match in the CZW 2 set, what was the name of the set for Legends 13 (Legends Madness,) what was Maria's distraction rating, and I think one or two others correct but could not remember the exact number of title reigns by Larry Sweeney. During the auction I won the specially numbered 000 color card for King Kong Bundy.
Afterward, we went out for more drinks and dinner at the same place as Friday night.
Congrats to KB, who I just met for the first time this weekend, on winning the cup this weekend! Also great to see Tournament Master and Jack (they were my roommates this weekend,) Tom, Alex, Swarm, Matt, Jim Steele, Troy (he did a great job organizing the tournaments and with creating the trivia questions,) Pete Beck (and his wife and his cat,) Mike Fortune, Gainer (who I later met up with at the Buffalo airport's Anchor Bar location- their wings are not as good as Duffs,) Dayton Dave (who I somehow managed to defeat in the finals of the Lucille Bar tournament today at breakfast,) Brucetosis, Sam Luptak Jr., Smoke and his son, Brock and his wife, MHardcore, Mr. Jimmyface, Reno (Vegas met Reno this weekend for the first time,) and anyone else I might be forgetting. It was great to see everyone again!
Looking forward to next year in Pittsburgh or wherever the location is decided upon!
