The tournament is coming along great. Very cool to see Randy Savage in the lead but with several guys nipping at his heels. I'm looking forward to seeing who wins the gold.

Awesome to see it come down to Randy Savage or Lou Thesz. I want the "Macho Man" to win it but it won't be easy getting by Thesz.

Going into the final round, the top 3 spots in contention for the World Wrestling Grand Prix Championship:
Savage - 13 Thesz - 12 Magnum TA - 12
With Savage and Thesz facing off in Buffalo , Magnum needs a draw in that match and a win over Stan Hansen to tie Savage for 1st!

Round 9 - Montreal, QC This is it!! Presenting the final Leg of Tournament Matches with Morgan Dollar as referee for all matches: Bruiser Brody d. King Kong Bundy after a wild ringside brawl and a JUMPING KNEE DROP Nick Bockwinkel d. Jim Duggan with a BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER Bobo Brazil d. The Destroyer after a Falling Elbow. The first three matches were non-eventful, but Dollar called it by the book for both the Brody-Bundy match and Magnum TA-Hansen.
Magnum TA WCOR, Stan Hansen. Magnum finishes the tournament with 14 points and moved into first place ahead of Savage -13 and Thesz -12. Macho Man Savage (WC) d. Lou Thesz (AC) to win the tournament and the GRAND PRIX CHAMPIONSHIP after a FLYING ELBOW. Savage clinches the top spot with 15 Points and unifies the WORLD title with the AMERICAS Title. Oh yeahhh....
A special title ceremony was held before intermission, crowning the champion, Randy Savage. There was also an announcement that the tournament runner-up, Magnum TA is the #1 contender!
Shann Ra won a 15-women BATTLE ROYAL last eliminating Jazz.
Finally, the Midnight Express were presented with new title belts before the FOUR CORNERS ELIMINATION TITLE MATCH: WORLD TAG Champions Midnight Express vs. Diamond Exchange: DDP & Curt Hennig vs. Fite-Force: Larry Zbyszko & Golden Kobra vs. North-South Connection: Brad Armstrong & Jim Brunzell.
1 - Eaton & Lane pinned Hennig with a ROCKET LAUNCHER 2 - Lane used a Flurry of Karate Kicks to pin Zbyszko 3 - Eaton brought the DARK SIDE to pin Brunzell.
A post match scuffle saw Marty Jannetty come to Brunzell's aid but the Midnights looked impressive in this one. The new title belts look very similar to the titles Hawk and Animal are wearing in the handbook.
Now that the top two titles got a fresh start (so to speak), stay tuned for the weekly television program as it is still titled Superstar Pro Wrestling.
Final Grand Prix Standings Savage (WC) 15 Magnum TA 14 Thesz (AC) 12 Brody 10 Destroyer 9 Brazil 8 Bockwinkel 7 Hansen 7 Bundy 4 Duggan 4

Wow what an awesome finish to the tournament with Randy Savage taking the gold becoming a dual champion while Magnum T.A. put the pressure on and also secures the top contenders spot. Good to see the Midnight Express come out on top as well in that tough four corners elimination match.
