Inspired by this thread by joebreakdown over on the LOW side of things, I thought I'd ask the same question over here. What are some of your biggest (non-DQ) upsets from your GWF fed?For THE GALAXY'S FINEST™, the one that sticks out the most is when Gryt hit a snakes eyes roll on Aethran Overmaster with his finisher. This was back when Overmaster and Monolith were THE two biggest baddest guys in the fed. For Gryt to score a win was huge. Gryt rode that claim of beating Overmaster for a long time, and even refused to give him a rematch so he could rub it in more. You?

Plethador beat Monolith. Talon beat Chaos. It was CPC but J.J. Smooth won my Interstellar Title in a tournament final against Dante. Vault of Horror went undefeated one year (though they never had or wanted a title shot) and Bloodline went winless one year including losing to Rouser.

For me I have two that really stand out. Blizzard (bash version) beat Vigilante for the GWF Galactic title. Vigilante was looking for a weak defense. And snake eyes came up. Blizzard actually had two title defenses before he lost the title. My biggest upset was the punks (also a bash version). Took out Trasvolver to become CPC champions in a huge upset. In four moves. I then booked the punks to never give a rematch title shot to Transvolver. I was very entertained by that one. In thinking about it The Mutant had the interplanetary belt for a month. I can’t remember off hand who he beat. But I had Kraken always demand that the Mutant be introuduced as the former interplanetary champion. Mutant of course didn’t care. Those are my biggest upsets.

Killer Queen beat Chaos (actually submitted him with the CHECKMATE) to win the Galaxian Title.
Thetis beat Screw (from Early Classics). I think I blamed that one on interference though.

Posted these before, but a few that stand out are:
Actagon beating Thantos at the 2094 Royal Rumble for the Galaxian Title...
Cordanus beating Vyper for the Galaxian Title (due to his +3 Mensar int. finisher).
Vanity holding the Galaxian Title for a brief time, before losing it to Matador of M83.
Justice is one of my all time most successful stars beating everyone from Star Warrior to Chaos as a multiple time Galaxian Champion.
But my most shocking is for sure Tocsin, who is my all time greatest Hardcore Champion ever. When he held that title he beat EVERYONE. Mensar, Vyper, Painmaster, Nefarus, Bloodline, Encubus, Mandrill, Anarchy, Vyper, Thunder, Max Shield...everyone. It was insane.
When he finally lost it (to Eclipse), I just retired him and entered him in my HOF because it was never going to get better for him than that for Tocsin.

I always love that Tocsin story...one of my favorite underutilized characters.

I always love that Tocsin story...one of my favorite underutilized characters. The GWF's roster during the 2100's had become so big that there were quite a few characters that ended up lost in the shuffle and were never given an opportunity to really shine had they might were the roster somewhat smaller. Tocsin/Sentry is a good example actually. It'd be especially cool to see some of the more overlooked characters during the game years where the roster was a bit bloated get a second life via the new Kronos editions. I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult for promoters to come up with a fairly robust list of characters that could use a second chance at galaxian stardom.

Compared to some of the upsets listed here, this doesn't seem quite as monumental, but I recall it being a big deal for me at the time when it happened.
In early/mid 2091, Krakan (his 2090 Hitman update) dethroned Thantos during his epic 3rd or 4th Galaxian title reign (can't quite remember exactly) which had, at that point been going strong for over an entire game year. Thantos was into his 2nd year as champion and Krakan upsetting him came totally out of left field.
Prior to dropping the strap to Krakan, Thantos had successful defenses against many of the fed's top guys which included Star Warrior (2090 update), Spike (2088 card & 2091 update), The Galactic Punisher, Bounty Hunter, Bishop Hell, and Wolf (multiple times).
Krakan went on to have a pretty impressive title reign of his own (which ended up being his only Galaxian title reign) which saw the Hitman defending the belt almost exclusively in Hitman Matches. Without context it doesn't appear as though its a very big deal, but as I said, at the time in my fed it was a huge upset.

In my fed, Endgame BD had been GWF champion for two years straight. Commissioner Euritar made Endgame defend his title in a Battle Royal with 9 other midcard wrestlers. Balaal came out as the winner and new GWF Champion from the Battle Royal match. Then it was an awesome run to see how long Balaal could stay champion using Champions advantage.
