Looking forward to Richards v. Styles at MSG. Big stage and hopefully they can deliver a big match. Like what you are doing with Quackenbush I agree bookerbill, I'm hoping Styles vs. Richards lives up to it's potential. Thanks for the comment on Mike Quackenbush as well. After Eddie Gilbert ran him out of ECW, I was trying to figure out how to use him and Wrestling Is Fun seems like a good way to get Quack and the former CHIKARA guys some of the spotlight. Wrestling Queendom from SHIMMER is coming up next so stay tuned...

Match Highlights:
Fatal Four Way action kicked off the show with “The Wounded Owl” Lufisto, former Heart of SHIMMER champion Barbi Hayden, Candice LeRae and Nicole Savoy competing in the match. Manager Mademoiselle Rachelle was at ringside representing Hayden and would play a role in the outcome. Hayden dominated early against Lufisto, including catching her with a swinging neckbreaker for a two count. LeRae got involved and nearly put Hayden away with the flying dragon, her version of the octopus hold. Things picked up from there and, after a nice offensive from Savoy, Hayden got back into it and took advantage when LeRae was tripped up by Rachelle. That sent LeRae right into the Hayden Halo, an elevated Spike DDT, allowing her to score a controversial pinfall victory.
The fiery Shotzi Blackheart needed all of that fire and more as she took on the powerful Maria Manic. Blackheart worked a great match, continually frustrating Manic with her speed based offense. A pivotal moment came when she went for a deathjump attack but Manic got up there attempting to stop her. Blackheart won the struggle causing Manic to crash on the top rope and fall to the floor. Blackheart followed with a running dive to the outside causing Manic to crash head first into the guard rail. The impact shook up Manic long enough for Blackheart to get back in and score a count out victory. Manic was beside herself post-match going after both Manic and the referee but both managed to escape her wrath.
Deonna Purrazzo, a native of Hackettstown, NJ, went on social media and boldly challenged former SHIMMER champion “The Punisher” Madison Eagles to a match at Wrestling Queendom vowing to put her down. Eagles accepted and said that it was going to take a lot for Purrazzo to accomplish that. With the war of words out of the way, Purrazzo attempted to get the jump on Eagles at ringside but it backfired. Eagles blasted her with a roundhouse kick and fired her into the ring delivering Hell Bound to score the quick pin. Purrazzo was laid out looking up at the lights as Eagles celebrated her victory.
Atomicos action saw Athena and Mia Yim join forces with Team Slap Happy (Evie & Heidi Lovelace) to take on the foursome of Tessa Blanchard, Angelus Layne, Allysin Kay & Madison Rayne. This was an all action battle with both sides having nice runs on offense. Blanchard led her team with strong moves like the hammerlock DDT, setting up a near fall on Lovelace courtesy of Memory Layne from Angelus. Yim launched a nice counter attack for her team connecting with a sitout power bomb and 450 splash. Lovelace took advantage of that attack on Kay and executed a Saito suplex for a big near fall. Athena looked great near the finish hitting big moves like the springboard DDT and cartwheel double knee drop on Layne. Unfortunately for Athena, Rayne made a blind tag and caught her with a Diving Spear to score the pin. The battle continued post-match until Athena led her allies in driving Blanchard and her team out of the ring.
Two of the most highly decorated stars in SHIMMER history squared off as Nicole Matthews took on MsChif. This was one for the ages as, perhaps knowing that their peers from Joshi Puroresu were in the house, the two women engaged in a terrific strong style battle. Stiff strikes and punishing moves were exchanged frequently and both women survived some serious near falls. Matthews twice executed the Vancouver Maneuver, a rolling cutter, but MsChif kicked out just before the three count each time. MsChif would deliver some of her trademark moves like Code Green and Gateway to Annihilation but was unable to put Matthews away. A great exchange ended it with MsChif blasting away with big chops before Matthews floored her with a counter Lariat to score the pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as both women went all out to win the match and MsChif, in a rare show of respect, offered her hand which Matthews accepted putting a fitting ending to the match.
The first of the Joshi Puroresu inspired matches featured on Wrestling Queendom saw Devil Masami & Toshiyo Yamada join forces to take on the “Havok Death Machine” Jessicka Havok & “The Mountain” Vanessa Kraven. Both Joshi stars are former champions in SHIMMER as Masami twice held the SHIMMER title while Yamada had a reign as SHIMMER tag team champions with Manami Toyota. Those title reigns came in the LOW women’s division before the championships were incorporated into SHIMMER continuing the title lineage. The action was fought at an incredible pace in this one, particularly when Masami was in against her equally large rivals. Havok was busted open during the match, and twice had to be saved by Kraven on separate pin attempts by Masami and Yamada. Kraven nearly won it for her team with a big Sitout Power Bomb on Yamada but Masami broke up that pin. The finishing sequence saw Masami hit a Liger Bomb on Havok for a near fall. Yamada then tagged in and, as Masami fought off Kraven, she managed to lift the bloody Havok up for a Reverse Gory Bomb to score the pin.
A highly anticipated Wrestling Queendom matchup saw Manami Toyota take on Kay Lee Ray in a battle of high flying stars. This match did not disappoint and was likely the best match of the night. After a dominant opening run by Toyota, Ray nearly took it with her patented Swanton Bomb resulting in a big near fall. Toyota recovered and scored her own near fall using a counter sunset flip off the ropes. Both women took to the air both in and out of the ring, Ray twice hitting a tope suicida AND Toyota executing her trademark springboard plancha. Ray came back with two huge near falls, one off a counter roll-up out of the corner and the other following a step-up enzuigiri. She had Toyota in a bad way late, but the veteran star countered a deathjump attack with a superplex. Toyota followed with a Victory Star Drop, another springboard plancha and finally her finisher, the Ocean Cyclone Suplex, to score the pin. The crowd cheered wildly at the finish, applauding both women who shook hands in center ring before Ray bowed out allowing Toyota to enjoy her victory.
The SHIMMER tag team titles were on the line in a Two-out-of-Three Falls match as the defending champions Crazy Mary Dobson & Courtney Rush put the gold on the line against their fierce rivals, two-thirds of “Blonde, Red and Bad Ass” in Taeler Hendrix & Kelly Klein. Manager Mademoiselle Rachelle was at ringside for Hendrix and Klein hoping to see her team capture the championship. The first fall featured some wild action, including the champions gaining near falls on Hendrix with the cartwheel double knees and Kaiju Killer from “Crazy” Mary. Klein saved Hendrix on the latter and nailed Dobson with a German Suplex allowing Hendrix to crawl on top of her for a two count. Rachelle interfered at one point by grabbing Rush, but it backfired as Hendrix accidentally struck her own manager. The finish saw Dobson counter Klein off the ropes and catch her with a Fisherman’s Suplex to score the pin giving the champions a 1-0 lead.
The opening moments of the second fall saw Klein on the defensive as the champions roughed her up, including Rush hitting the F5 for a big near fall. The powerful Klein fought back, however, and caught Rush with a side backbreaker for her own near fall. Rachelle again got involved by tripping up Rush off the ropes allowing Hendrix to gain an advantage. Rush nearly made Hendrix pay, however, by avoiding a corner charge and executing a counter roll-up for a big near fall. “Crazy” Mary tagged in and went to war with both opponents and wound up hitting a nice plancha on Klein. The challengers regained control and homed in on Rush looking to even the score. A powerful assault by Klein, capped off with a Northern Lights suplex, set up Hendrix who blasted Rush with a Palm Strike to score the pin. That evened it up at 1-1 with the deciding fall determining who would leave with the belts.
Before the third fall got underway, the challengers were left without their interfering manager as Thunder Rosa, an associate of the champions, ran down to ringside and chased Mademoiselle Rachelle to the back. The crowd was at a fever bitch as the third fall began with Hendrix going on a dominant run against Rush. Things were looking bad for the champions until Rush made a counter outside the ring and back inside hit the F5 for what looked to be a pin. That went by the wayside as Barbi Hayden, the blonde in B-R-B, hit the ring and struck Rush with a chair across the back. Dobson, who had been battling Klein on the outside, ran in but received a chair shot as well. The referee immediately called for the bell allowing Dobson and Rush to gain a disqualification win in the deciding fall. That gave them a 2-1 decision and a version three defense of their titles, but it wasn’t over there. Rachelle returned to ringside and ordered B-R-B to launch a post- match attack which was three-on-two until Thunder Rosa ran in to even the odds. The two sides then battled it out forcing SHIMMER officials to have to clear the ring or it could have gone on all night.
Two of the toughest women in the business squared off in a dream match as “Sweet” Saraya Knight took on the equally intimidating Bull Nakano. This was an all out war as the two women fought around the Olympic Theatre narrowly avoiding a disqualification decision several times. The referee tried to be lenient knowing that the fans would want to see a winner. Knight nearly got a submission early using the Knightmare, a single-leg Boston Crab hold. Nakano fought back in brutal fashion hitting a huge lariat and a Thunder Fire Power Bomb for a near fall. Knight battled back picking up two counts with a side suplex and a running Samoan Drop, the latter being a most difficult move to execute against the 209-pound Nakano. An inverted DDT and a moonsault press led to another near fall for Nakano. Knight answered back with a big DDT for a two count. After a brutal battle at ringside, Nakano hit her trademark finisher the Guillotine Leg Drop off the top rope but somehow Knight kicked out before the three count. Knight then came back with a barrage of forearms and punches before trapping Nakano in the Bridled Rocking Horse, a grounded stretch submission hold. Nakano refused to tap out but was unable to escape the hold, instead passing out while trapped in it. The referee made the call and awarded the victory to Knight, giving the former SHIMMER champion a huge victory.
The main event tag team match was a classic that saw reigning SHIMMER champion Sara Del Ray and Heart of SHIMMER champion Jordynne Grace join forces to take on the legendary pairing of Jaguar Yokota and Dynamite Kansai. This was easily another dream match set up for Wrestling Queendom with a lot of pride on the line between the four combatants. Del Ray was intent on bringing victory home for SHIMMER but across the ring so were her foes, particularly Kansai who was deadly focused on the champion throughout the match. The Joshi stars had Del Ray on the defensive for a long stretch, which included near falls by Yokota with the Underhook Power Bomb and Kansai with the Splash Mountain. The latter was broken up by Grace who may have saved the match for her team. Grace was a real force during her time in despite being the least experienced of the four. She used her power to her advantage and nearly pinned Yokota with a Backpack Stunner followed by a Michinoku Driver. Yokota turned the tables on Grace and scored a near fall on her with a double underhook piledriver. The finishing sequence of a hotly contested main event saw Kansai fight back after taking both an axe kick and Koppo kick from Del Ray. Kansai unleashed a brutal counter offensive striking first with a big lariat before delivering a barrage of Shoot Kicks on Del Ray to score the pin as Yokota prevented Grace from making the save.
The post-match of the main event saw all four women shake hands, but Kansai pulled Del Ray in close and pointed at the SHIMMER title belt. Del Ray took it as a challenge and called SHIMMER promoter Dave Prazak into the ring as Grace and Yokota stepped in between pushing their respective partners back to neutral corners. It didn’t take much to figure out what was coming next as Del Ray nodded to Prazak and he announced that Kansai would be the next challenger to the SHIMMER title, a match that will take place at Volume 57 at The Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL (Card #1268). Del Ray and Kansai had another stare down before Kansai grabbed the mic away from Prazak and said something in Japanese to Del Ray. It was later translated that Kansai said that she intended to defeat Del Ray for the SHIMMER title and take the belt back to Japan forever. There is no question that Del Ray will have to do everything in her power at Volume 57 to prevent that from happening.

Some great Shimmer action. Wish Shotzi had won by pin or submission but still nice. Cool to see Devil Masami in action as she's always been one of my favorite Joshi.

Totally stoked that Crazy Mary & Courtney managed to hold onto the Shimmer tag belts in that intense Best of 3 Falls match... Also cool that Thunder Rosa showed up in time to prevent a three-on-two assault... Hoping this leads to some trios action down the road...
Very excited for the upcoming MSG show as AJ defends the title against Davey Richards... Should be PHENOMENAL! And of course, I can't wait to see The Mountie get his TV title rematch on the next PCW show... Awesome stuff, as always!

Lots of great stuff going on cruefan68! Totally enjoyed Lio Rush winning the 20 man battle royal. Kevin Steen came really close to cleaning house! But very cool to see Bryan Danielson retain. Abdullah the Butcher comes back to LOW in style. Very interested in the Changes coming to Lucha Underground! Not to mention two awesome title defenses for Styles vs Rogers and Richards. Question - who will Styles be defending the LOW World Title against after Rogers and Richards? The Road Warriors, Bobo Brazil and Barry Windham - BOOM that is some team. Cole vs Omega, I second Pariah's emotion. Rockin World Class Stuff Crue!! Thanks Bri, I always look forward to your reaction to the shows. Lio Rush was phenomenal in that Battle Royal showing that the size difference made no difference. I'm hoping he can do some good things with his new IWA contract. Kevin Steen came so close to a huge double win but it was not to be. Having an official Abdullah the Butcher card is great. I'm looking forward to using him some more. There is a possible major change coming to Lucha Underground. Some may not like it but I'm looking to go in a different direction with the roster and the overall presentation of the fed. Stay tuned. Harley Race is one that I consider to be the next in line for a world title shot, especially coming off his big wins over Magnum T.A. in ACW. As with Pariah, I see you want Cole vs. Omega so I'll see what I can do on that one. Roderick Strong of course wants some of Omega too so "The Cleaner" definitely has a target on his back. Rockin and interesting stuff cruefan68! And right back at cha for rizzle. Abdullah the Butcher is in the game - I just like saying that lol. When it comes to Lucha Underground my interest is totally piqued brother man. Sounds like you're taking it off the rails a bit (I think - either that or I'm just getting excited - either way it's gonna work for me). You know I hear ya about Roderick Strong, but I think The Cleaner is going to mess him up, (I think). For some reason Cole vs Omega just feels like it's going to be 5 star. So after Richards and Rogers is possibly Race huh for A.J.? Sweet!

Magnificent Shimmer card cruefan68! Top to bottom. What a 2 out of 3 fall match! I don't know if you've used the expression of a crowd being at a fever bitch before, (I may have missed it before). Or if that's a thing now (unfortunately I've never seen an actual Shimmer show - gotta change that). But I found that priceless myself. Go Sara Del Rey on the next Shimmer card. That MSG show looks tremendous - each card is starting to outdo the prior one!

SHIMMER usually gets the least responses in my fed for whatever reason. Shotzi was great in that match and earned that win. I'm with you on Devil Masami, one of the all-time greats in Joshi.

I have to say that tag title match with Dobson & Rush vs. Hendrix & Klein was amazing. That was a lot of fun to roll out and yes I'm thinking of adding Rosa and Hayden for a trios match. Your wait for Styles vs. Richards won't be long as I will be posting it soon. When you failed to mention The Mountie getting his title rematch, I thought you had lost your mind. Good to see you are still with us
