Greetings, fellow Promoters! I've often thought about using certain black and white cards to create an old-school Southern-style 'rasslin' territory. I try to read as many of your feds as time allows(even though I may not comment, I do read). I use a computer at the library and we get kicked off after 1 hour(we can get back on for another hour if there isn't a waiting list for up to 3 hours, but we lose whatever we're doing when we get kicked off). I've always hesitated about doing this because I may have to post something unfinished then go back later and edit it to finish it, but your creativity has inspired me to finally try my luck at creating & posting this new fed. My time at the library is limited so I'll post results whenever I can. I'll try my best to post something at least once a week. I should mention that my posts won't always coincide with the TV schedule I mention later. I hope you enjoy reading this, and I thank you in advance for going on this new adventure with me. Now, without any further ado, here's the backstory of...REBEL WRESTLING!
An evil wrestling promoter from the North has been raiding all of the Southern wrestling territories of their top talent for years. Now, a confederation of Southern wrestling promoters are fighting back! They met recently in Atlanta, Georgia, where they agreed to unify all of their territories to form...Rebel Wrestling! Atlanta's Superstation WTBS will broadcast a live 2-hour weekly TV show from arenas throughout the South. WTBS will also present a special preview week beginning with TV tapings of championship tournament quarter-finals and semi-finals from Atlanta's Center Stage. Those shows will air Sunday-Friday at 12 AM Eastern/11 PM Central on a series of 1-hour specials called "The Midnight Special". This all leads up to the tournament finals on the debut of the new live weekly 2-hour prime-time series called "Saturday Night Special" at 8PM Eastern/7 PM Central from Atlanta's historic Omni Coliseum. Rebel Wrestling promoters look forward to bringing this exciting weekly TV show, along with 4 "Sunday Superstar Wars" pay-per-views, to cities South of the Mason-Dixon Line. Les Thatcher and Jim Cornette will call the action from ringside every week. Gary Michael Cappetta will be the ring announcer, and wrestling journalist Bill Apter brings his "Hot Seat" interviews from the magazines to the TV screen every Saturday night on the Superstation. Commissioner Charlie Cox has been appointed as the matchmaker/disciplinarian for Rebel Wrestling. Stay tuned for his announcement of the World Title, World Tag Team Title, Television Title, and Jr. Heavyweight Title (240 lbs. weight limit) tournament participants. Don't miss Rebel Wrestling Preview Week from Atlanta on WTBS every night next week with "The Midnight Special" Sunday-Friday and the premiere of "Saturday Night Special" live next Saturday. Watch out, New York, the South will rise again with...Rebel Wrestling!
