Thanks for continuing to drop in comments TTX . Much appreciated.
The Valiant Brothers just keep finding ways to stay on top. This time their victory has caused me to change my booking direction. I had planned to send the team packing if they lost their rematch with the Vachons and shake up the roster a bit. The dice clearly had other ideas. Booking on the fly is one of the best aspects of this game, IMO.
November 3, 2019 – Card #57 – Sports Community Centre, Lakefield, Ontario
Wild Bill White pinned Ron Hutchison. Hutchison was able to turn things around early when he countered a cross body with a roll through for a near fall. The action went to the floor and White was able to get the best of the exchange of punches. Back inside White crushed Hutchison with a running powerslam finisher to get the three count.
Bob Armstrong defeated “Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal. Morgan Dollar was in charge of the action and had strict instructions for both competitors. The “Bullet” looked to be in complete control of this one. Regal would have his moments but their were short and followed by more punishment from Armstrong. Armstrong went to a sleeper several times to slow down the speedy Regal who showed some toughness kicking out after a Georgia Jawjacker. Regal looked to be gaining some momentum late in the match whipping Armstrong into the corner but “Bullet” Bob avoided the charge of his opponent sending Regal crashing into the turnbuckles which allowed Armstrong to roll him up for the three count.
Joe Blanchard pinned Johnny Mantell. This battle of Texans was over quickly when Blanchard caught Mantell with a running lariat and then finished him with cross body block from the top of the corner in less than a minute.
Chaz Taylor beat Brad Armstrong. Morgan Dollar has strict instructions for the competitors and it is handshakes all around to start this one off. This one did not last as long as some of the fans had hoped but it was action packed. The counter wrestling was nearly perfect early on and ended up with Armstrong countering a backdrop with a piledriver. Armstrong then hit his finisher, Russian Leg Sweep, but Taylor had the shoulder up at the last second. Armstrong connected with a deathjump and went back to the top for a cross body block but Taylor rolled through and nearly took the win. Missile dropkick from Taylor was on target and so was a Chaztizer that downed Armstrong for the win. Armstrong shakes Taylor’s hand out of respect post match and the fans love it.
In a non-title encounter, Northern Lights Champion Johnny Saint bested “Jumping” Jim Brunzell. Bill Alfonso draws officiating duties for this one and the fans are not pleased. However, the action between the two starts with a handshake and is so clean Alfonso is kept in the background but some fans feel that the pin counts against Saint seem on the fast side. The exchange of counters is flawless and has the fans on their feet several times. Bruznell puts Saint to the mat twice for a near falls after flying head scissors. Twice Brunzell escapes a Three In One. Late in the match Brunzell countered a backdrop with a piledriver that rocked Saint giving Brunzell the momentum. He locked in a sleeper but Saint was able to counter back with a perfect JOHNNY SAINT SPECIAL to get the three count.
The Vachons defeated Flying Redheads. The Vachons are all over Morgan Dollar before the bell and the official appears a bit shaken by the encounter. Billy Red Lyons and Red Bastien managed to cut off Butcher Vachon for an extensive amount of time and punished him with a series of rapid-fire dropkicks. Lyons used a figure four leglock and sleeper hold but could not get the win. Later, Mad Dog Vachon saved his brother from being pinned and then made the tag into the match changing the momentum. From that point, the match was more evenly battled with the Vachons making sure that Butcher Vachon only saw limited action. Lyons found himself in some trouble and Mad Dog Vachon looked to have him finished after a piledriver but Bastien made the save. Red Bastien lit up the fans with a series of flying head scissors to Mad Dog Vachon but he struggled to find the same success against the more powerful Butcher Vachon. The finish came when Mad Dog Vachon and Butcher Vachon made a series of quick tags against Bastien ending with Mad Dog catching Bastien with a double foot stomp for the three count.
Blackjack Mulligan over Magnum T.A. by disqualification. Bill Alfonso makes a rare second appearance as an official on the same card. It was clear that Alfonso was going to let Mulligan do whatever he wanted and the big Texan took full advantage including using a chair on Allen early in the action drawing great heat from the fans. Allen drew his strength and managed to catch Mulligan on the top of the corner and slammed him to the mat. Allen went on the offensive for several minutes leading up to a belly to belly suplex. The fans thought it was over but Alfonso’s count appeared slow and Mulligan escaped defeat. Allen was not pleased and his frustration with the official allowed Mulligan to get back into the match. A pair of lariats crushed Allen and send him sprawling to the floor. Mulligan came out after him but a bloodied Allen grabbed the same chair Mulligan had used earlier in the match and decked Mulligan with the weapon. The fans loved it but Alfonso did not and immediately disqualified Allen. The fans were livid and Alfonso quickly escaped the ring before Allen could get a hold of him.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Express beat Heavenly Bodies w/Jim Cornette. Morgan Dollar’s decision to send Jim Cornette to the back before the bell has the fans roaring once again. The Bodies are clearly off their game and the Express take full advantage cutting off Stan Lane immediately. The Express make quick tags leading to a double dropkick but Tom Pritchard makes the pain save. The Express double up again for a huge backdrop and for a leg puller and punch. Lane is in serious trouble and cannot get the tag before Ricky Morton catches him with a huracanrana for the three count while Robert Gibson prevents the pin save.
“Macho Man” Randy Savage w/Sherri Martel downed Johnny Valentine in a best of three falls match 2:0. Bill Alfonso is out to make the three count once again. The intensity from just the lock up could be felt throughout the arena. Valentine took control but Savage came back with his speed. Controversy occurred when Alfonso went down for five moves. While the official was down, Valentine had Savage’s shoulders to the mat twice. When Alfonso retained his feet, Savage was a bloody mess courtesy of a Valentine chair shot. Savage came back however, running Valentine into the ring post busting him open. Savage connected with a flying axe-handle to the floor. Savage slammed Valentine to the mat and hit him with a flying elbow smash to take the first fall although it appeared to the front row at ringside that Valentine had his shoulder up beating a fast count by Alfonso. Savage goes on the attack immediately to start the second fall and takes Valentine to the mat with a neckbreaker clothesline. Flying axe-handle connects and then Savage tosses Valentine to the floor. Martel decks Valentine with her shoe and the fans are livid. Valentine can barely regain the ring and Savage is ready with a flying elbow smash for the win to earn the right to challenge for the Canadian Heavyweight Title.
Ted DiBiase downed Commonwealth Champion Jimmy Snuka to win the title. The action went back and forth early on with both men finding counters. DiBiase took a chance sending Snuka into the ropes but managed to catch “Superfly” with a stiff back elbow and then rebounded him into a full power slam for the three count from Morgan Dollar [Snake Eyes!]
