I've owned COTG for many years but haven't really played it much. I love the idea but have never really gotten into playing it. I'd play a few cards, stop for a while, then come back and decide to restart. It never got rolling because of that and so my interest never really grew.
So again I restarted and was trying to crown my inaugural champions. I had a four team tag tournament. The first match was the Flying Titans vs. the Gladiators and went as you would expect. The second match was the Greek Gods vs. Society of Death. This match ended in a double DQ. Rather than award the titles to the Gladiators after the fact, I decided to have a four team gauntlet match. The Gladiators would have the advantage of being the last team to enter, and the Flying Titans would be the first team because they were the only team with a loss.
And somehow the Flying Titans ran the gauntlet. I can't wait to see where all of this goes, but I think I finally get it. I was captivated rolling dice and checking the cards to see if the scrappy team could pull it off.

Fun story.....Pit Viper and Pulsar actually upset their way to being my first tag champions knocking off the Glads in the finals.

Ghengis Khan and Mutant won one of the first tag team tournaments I ever ran. Still remember it like yesterday. They beat the Greek Gods in the finals. I don't recall them doing anything notable again after that.

Wish I'd run initial tournaments back in 2087. I just took the champions as they were listed in the sample fight card at the back of the handbook. I think Pulsar and Pit Viper struggled as duo in those early years but I always liked their style. There weren't too many 'official' team names back then so I started calling them Titan Express from the beginning but it wasn't til they got their card upgrades in latter years that the team really took off. I remember throwing Commander Sam and Massif together in 2087 due to a lack of teams and nobody being able to touch the Gladiators who reigned for almost 30 cards (out of 48 in a year). The FDF team were the only team that could challenge them and eventually they grabbed the belts. I still got the tournament I craved but not til beginning 2088 as I had Commander Sam foolishly sign a Fed Exile match against Comrade Terror which he lost. It meant he couldn't defend the tag belts with Massif in the mandatory time. The team quietly disbanded (as I knew 2088 would provide new official teams such as Titan Power, Bomb Squad, Norse Gods and Animal Pack) and the belts were vacated. In the 8 team KO tournment that got booked it was Animal Pack that triumphed. loved those early days of the GWF
