Hello Everyone.
Most of you don't know me. I'm a regular on the boards, but more of a lurker then a poster. I don't post a lot, but read nearly everything.
I got back into the game a few years ago playing Champions of the Galaxy after loving the game back in the late 80's and early 90's.
Nonetheless..
I've been a pro-wrestling fan for a long time. When I was a child, I would go over to my grandfather's and watch the one true sport. My favorite grappler was this strangle, lightly scary, bald, monster. He would apply this unbreakable, devastating finisher.. The Claw! He was amazing!
Baron Von Raschke was my first "favorite" wrestler.
I was able to meet the great master of the Claw a few years ago at the Waterloo Hall of Fame weekend. It was great talking to him.. and having the claw applied on me. Such a return to my childhood and is one of my favorite sports moments.
When I restarted playing, I got some special edition cards, one of which was Greg Valentine. I loved the idea of time travelers in the future. Valentine performed well, but needed a tag partner. As I started wandering through the boards, I knew people had made bootlegs, but didn't realize some of the great color versions with commissioned art. I'm posting this here in the LoW bootleg boards, but I'll be using the Baron in the future as part of the tag team, The Time Grapplers!
So, below is the art. I really think Warner did a freak'n great job. He created a card front that could be either heel or face.
I put the AWA background on it because that was the era I watched him in.
I got the art a few months, but.. stupid work, just haven't had time to really work on the final project. I've slowly been figuring out what I want for MY move set for him. I'm getting help with the card back's structure from justme and I think we've come up with a cool change to make his Claw finisher a little more interesting.
If you give me a few more weeks, I'll have a full card for you. It'll be a Merry Von Raschke Christmas.
Enjoy this for now.
