Kansas City Business Man To Promote Professional Wrestling
Well known Kansas City businessman Marco Epstein has announced he will be promoting a new professional wrestling show at the Kansas City Club.
Much has been made of late about the legitimacy of professional wrestling as a legitimate sport, but Epstein was quick to dispel these claims.
"The wrestlers that I have assembled are the finest athletes around. They come from many different back grounds and situations, but one thing is for sure ... and that's they are all here to compete and prove they are the best.
Epstein, who many call 'Big Daddy' because of his physical stature as well as his stature in the community, has revealed that he will feature men and women in his matches as well as teams of wrestlers competing against each other.
"Normally I wouldn't let women anywhere near a wrestling ring, but the broads that I've talked to have made a very convincing argument. They've also expressed interest in competing against the men as well. I'm not sure if I'll allow that or not, but I'll tell you, these broads can sure fight."
The finest in pro wrestling will hit the Kansas City area soon so be on the look out for the promotional posters to find out when you can catch the spectacle.

KC’S FINEST PRO WRESTLING ROSTER
‘Big Daddy’ Marco Epstein – Well known Kansas City businessman and promoter of KC’s Finest Pro Wrestling. Epstein supposedly has ties to the Pendergast Machine, which allegedly is who is helping to fund this venture.
Matthew Cross – World renowned athlete from the Land of Lincoln that has come to Kansas City to prove what he has proven all over the world, and that’s he is the best.
The Moonshin’ Men of Appalachia (Chuck Taylor & Jock Samson) – Taylor and Samson are owners and proprietors of one of the many taverns in Downtown Kansas City. They come from the Appalachian area, have a family history of running moonshine and allegedly sell their family’s product in their tavern.
Tracy Smothers – This fun-loving, wild-eyed Southern boy from Tennessee came to Kansas City to visit his cousin, Chuck Taylor, and decided to stick around for a while. He occasionally bartends at his cousin’s tavern, but most of the time you can find him socializing with the flappers that frequent the tavern. ‘Burly’ Bill Taylor – Big bruiser with a mean streak that works as a bouncer at the tavern owned by The Moonshin’ Men of Appalachia.
The Jackson County Jeepers (Clean & Jerk) – Former members of the Blue Diamonds amateur basketball team that took an interest in weight lifting. They decided to leave basketball behind and try their hand at pro wrestling
Locals In Favor of Prohibition (Gavin Q. Volstead & Cammeron S. Sheppard, The Patriot) – Members of a group that is in favor of enacting statewide prohibition and ultimately an opponent of the Pendergast Machine. The group is allegedly, secretly backed by the Pendergast Machine’s chief political opposition, Joe Shannon, and the federal government. John Abraham Lincoln – Distant relative of the 16th President that bears a very striking resemblance to his namesake. An impressive physical specimen that is‘farm strong’ and has won many a bar fight. It’s these successes that have led him to try his hand at pro wrestling.
Dasher Hatfield – This former member of the Kansas City Blues minor league baseball team is always swinging for the fences. Hatfield is a skilled hurler on the mound and an exceptional grappler on the mat. Hatfield possesses great poise and is a favorite of the youngsters.
‘Big’ Sue Jackson – Most call him a bully, while everyone agrees he’s ‘Big,’ Sue Jackson’s presence is unmatched. Short-tempered and menacing, he’ll look to make a statement at anyone’s expense.
Gregory Iron - The young upstart from El Paso is making waves in the professional wrestling scene. Full of that ‘can-do’ attitude, Gregory won’t back down from any opposition.
Nicholas Valentino - A skilled - albeit shady - grappler, Valentino has a well documented amateur wrestling background. His main source of inspiration on the professional level is purely for monetary purposes.
Jeff King - The gruff talking grizzled veteran has wrestled all over the country and claims to have taken on and beaten the best.
Marion Fontaine - Known as the ‘handlebar haberdasher, Fontaine’s most notable feature is his trademark mustache. While at times he enjoys a laugh at his opponents expense, don’t be fooled by his variety of wrestling skills.
Billy Roc – Beloved and well-respected wrestler from Indiana, who has traveled throughout the Midwest, plying his trade and finally has settled in Kansas City.
‘Ox’ Baker Monroe - Father of Mary Elizabeth Monroe, who decided to join in on the competition after seeing how much his daughter enjoyed it. Monroe is a mountain of a man, who packs one heck of a powerful punch.
The Associates (Bruno ‘Baby Face’ Moretti, Niles ‘Sozio’ Young & Biff Busick) – Said to have close ties to the Kansas City Crime Family, these three men are the personification of Italian gangster and are said to be enforcers for Promoter Epstein. Never to stray from a fight they are not above causing trouble for anyone that crosses their path.
Dr. Jacob Omen & Nurse Britt Baker – Local doctor and nurse that serve as medical staff for the promotion as well as competitors.
The Upper Class (Maxwell Jacob Friedman & Logan Easton Laroux) - Claim to represent the 1%. They are young and arrogant, but very athletic and can definitely handle themselves in the ring. Although they are disgusted by most of the competitors in KC’s Finest, they welcome the chance to prove their superiority.
Foreign Legion (Martin Scurll & Robert Mailett) (Kurrgan) - A pair of immigrants, Scurll from England and Mailett from France, developed a kinship over several pints of ale at the The Moonshin’ Men’s tavern. Based on this friendship they decided to give pro wrestling a try and compete in KC’s Finest.
Isaias Velasquez & Craig Mitchell - These two men came to KC’s Finest from the Chicago area, where they both proved to be very talented and accomplished pro wrestlers individually. Velasquez and Mitchell know they’re good and don’t have a problem telling people about it. They had quite a rivalry in Chicago, but decided they could have more success by standing side by side instead of across the ring from each other.
Robert Orton, Sr. & Robert Orton, Jr. - Father-son team that have little wrestling experience, but are definitely in good physical condition as result of working from sun-up to sun-down on the family farm. They relish the opportunity to compete in KC’s Finest, as long as they get their chores done first.
Maurice & Paul Vachon - These Canadian brothers come from a large family, they are two of thirteen children. They left home early in an attempt to earn money to help support their family, which eventually led them to KC’s Finest. Their toughness is unquestioned as each men easily live up to their nicknames. ‘Mad Dog’ Maurice and Paul ‘The Butcher’ plan to destroy the competition in KC’s Finest and earn as much money as they can to send back to their family in Canada.
The Vagabonds (Robert Baines & Mike Jones) w/ Cymbal Monkey – Transients that have made their way from the east coast via locomotive and have decided to stay in Kansas City for the time being. Joined by their pet monkey, they look to have some success in the tag team ranks and maybe earn a little money before moving on their way.
Jazz Kings Trio (Bobo Brazil, Koko Ware & Conrad ‘Special Delivery’ Jones) – Brazil, a former negro league baseball player and accomplished trumpet player joined up with the Tennessee-born piano playing Ware and Antiguan immigrant Jones to form a very entertaining jazz trio that frequently performs at the Moonshin’ Men’s tavern. They supplement the money they make performing by competing in any way they can, singles, tag or even as a trio, which they prefer.
The Marauders (Dick J. Lahart & Hugo Lexington) - Former members of The Locals In Favor of Prohibition, but a difference of agenda with The Patriot led to these two men striking out on their own. Now they have formed a new faction with The Associates that has set their sights on controlling KC’s Finest for the foreseeable future.
Thunderkitty – One of the toughest ladies in the land, Thunderkitty packs quite a punch. She’s made both women and men submit in the squared circle faster than a bare foot jack rabbit on a hot greasy griddle.
Mary Elizabeth Monroe – This power house of a women has arrived on the scene to take on all comers and looks to dominate her opponent regardless of who it is, male or female.
Heidi The Riveter – Hard working grappler, who gives as good as she gets and is out to prove she is just as good as any man in the ring. She is also growing tired of the soft women and men that seem to be competing in Kansas City.
Zoey Skye – Flapper that frequents the tavern that is operated by the Moonshin’ Men of Appalacia. She has taken a liking to Tracy Smothers.
Jessica James – Tough Texas girl, came to Kansas City looking for the best competition she could find because she heard that’s where it is.

KC’s Finest Set to Debut
It will be a wild night when Marco ‘Big Daddy’ Epstein brings pro wrestling to the Kansas City Club. Epstein’s wrestling company is set to debut to huge fanfare.
“Tickets are going fast,” said Epstein. He added, “It’s going to be an outstanding athletic exhibition.”
Wrestlers from far and wide have converged on Kansas City to compete, including world renowned wrestler Matthew Cross.
“The Midwest offers some of the best wrestling in the world and I’m the best,” said Cross. “That’s why I’m here. “
Another couple of familiar faces competing for KC’s Finest are two former Kansas City Blue Diamonds. They are known as Clean and Jerk, the Jackson County Jeepers.
“Basketball is fun, but Jerk and I wanted more,” said Clean. “Our chemistry is second to none because of our days with the Blue Diamonds. I dare any team to step in the ring with us because I’m willing to bet they won’t leave victorious.”
Clean’s partner Jerk talked about how they trained to be wrestlers.
“Clean and I traded in the basketball and hardwood for barbells and weight benches,” said Jerk. “We were already in great shape, but lifting weights has really added that little something extra we needed to win in the wrestling ring.”
KC’s Finest has also drawn a trio of women into the fold. Thunderkitty, Mary Elizabeth Monroe and Heidi The Riveter are eager to strut their stuff, not only against each other, but against the men as well.
“I know my fair share of wrestling holds and think I can match up against anyone that steps in the ring with me … man or woman,” said Thunderkitty.
Monroe added, “I’m ready to take on all comers and dominate in the ring.”
The debut of KC’s Finest is just around the corner. Don’t miss it.

KC’S FINEST PRO WRESTLING CIRCA 1920’s SHOW 1 KANSAS CITY CLUB KANSAS CITY, MO
(Promoter ‘Big Daddy’ Marco Epstein stands in the center of the ring next to a podium with a sheet over the top of it.)
Epstein: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to KC’s Finest. Thank you for being here. I think you will really be impressed with the athletes that will be competing here tonight. Before we get too far along, I’d like to show you the prize that everyone will be competing for.
(Epstein pulls the sheet off the podium to reveal the top prize in KC’s Finest. It’s a gold plated belt with the word ‘PRIDE’ squarely in the middle written in diamonds.)
This is the Pride of Kansas City and it is what every wrestler here wants. Tonight we will stage a four man tournament to crown the first Pride of Kansas City Champion.
(Suddenly, Epstein is interrupted by four men who have made their way to ringside and caused a ruckus.)
I demand to know the meaning of this.
Hugo Lexington: Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Hugo Lexington. I, along with these three gentlemen here, represent the Locals In Favor of Prohibition and we demand to be heard.
Epstein: Ok, you’ve been heard. Now as I was saying …
Dick J. Lahart: I beg your pardon sir. My colleague was not finished speaking. My name is Dick J. Lahart and we are here to bring to the public’s attention the need to abide by federal law and observe prohibition against alcohol.
Lexington: Mr. Lahart is absolutely correct. It has come to the attention of several concerned citizens that local law enforcement does not uphold the federal prohibition law and we aim to see that it is.
Epstein: You gentlemen do realize you have interrupted my wrestling show, right? Do you know who I am?
Lexington: Of course we do, Mr. Big Daddy, sir. We know you are a well known Kansas City business man that supports those that violate federal law. That is why we are circulating these flyers and a petition for everyone here to sign.
Epstein: I urge you to be cautious with your accusations, but I have a compromise. I will allow you to circulate your propaganda if you agree to wrestle for me here tonight.
(After a brief discussion amongst themselves with all of them flexing their muscles to each other, Lexington spoke.)
Lexington: Mr. Epstein I believe you have yourself a deal.
Epstein: Great. Since you’re already circulating your flyer and petition I think it’s time one of you get in the ring and get ready to compete in our first match.
(The four men hesitate and try to beg off. As Epstein clears the ring with the Pride of Kansas City, Matthew Cross enters the ringside area, grabs Lahart and throws him into the ring.)
Matthew Cross vs. Dick J. Lahart Epstein has the other three member of Locals In Favor of Prohibition removed from the ringside area as the match begins. Lahart held his own early, but was quickly out matched. Cross wore Lahart down and pinned him after an airplane spin.
John Abraham Lincoln vs. Jeff King It was announced that the winner of this match would face Matthew Cross in the night’s main event for the Pride of Kansas City. Lincoln was an imposing figure as he held a significant height advantage over King. Abraham dominated early, but King managed to battle back. Lincoln countered a top rope move and went on the offensive. King rolled out of the ring to get away, but Lincoln followed and paid for it. The referee tried to break up the brawl outside the ring, but was distracted by some ringside fans and didn’t see King smash Lincoln with a chair. Lincoln was dazed as King rolled him back into the ring. The ref quickly followed and counted the pin, much to the displeasure of the fans.
Marion Fontaine vs. ‘Big’ Sue Jackson After a hard hitting back and forth contest, where both men landed some heavy shots, Fontaine beat Jackson with a neckbreaker.
Thunderkitty vs. Nicholas Valentino Valentino mocked Thunderkitty before the match began and commented on how he was insulted to be in the ring with this woman. Valentino backed up his bravado and quickly pinned Thunderkitty with a flying body press.
(As the intermission began The Moonshin’ Men of Appalachia set up a table near ringside with samples of their family’s product. ‘Burly’ Bill Taylor was helping Taylor and Samson set up the samples as the Locals in Favor of Prohibition made their way to ringside.)
Lexington: I’m sorry, but we can’t allow you to poison these fans with your illegal beverages.
Taylor: I think you four need to talk a little walk.
Lahart: I think you need to take the walk. You three are breaking federal law and we will not allow it to continue.
Jock Samson: Look, our bouncer asked you nicely to leave. If you will not heed his warning then we cannot be held responsible for what happens.
(Gavin Q. Volstead & Cammeron S. Sheppard each picked up a sample of the moonshine and sniffed the cup. Both men’s face turned sour and they threw the contents of the cup in Samson’s and Chuck Taylor’s face. That’s when Taylor blasted Volstead in the side of the head. Sheppard jumped on Taylor, which led to all the men joining the fight. The table was flipped and the samples went flying. Epstein came to ringside several security members and separated everyone.)
Epstein: If you guys want to fight then you do it in the ring.
‘Burly’ Bill Taylor & The Moonshin’ Men of Appalachia (Chuck Taylor & Jock Samson) vs. Locals In Favor of Prohibition (Hugo Lexington, Gavin Q. Volstead & Cammeron S. Sheppard) w/ Dick J. Lahart This was a wild brawl from the opening bell. All six men fought hard as both teams executed multiple tags. The match continued for several minutes before the action spilled out of the ring. All six men brawled at ringside as both Samson and Volstead were counted out.
Mary Elizabeth Monroe vs. Heidi The Riveter Heidi had the match going her way, but missed a FROG SPLASH. Monroe capitalized on the mistake and made Heidi submit to the RAINBOW CROSS.
The Jackson County Jeepers (Clean & Jerk) vs. The Good Doctors (Dr. Jacob Omen & Dr. Sam Sheppard) This was a very competitive back and forth contest. A lot of the action took place outside the ring, where both teams do some damage. Eventually Sheppard has Clean locked in the MANDIBULAR CLAW. Jerk came in to save his partner and Omen came in to even up the odds. Both teams brawled, which led to Clean delivering the JACKCO SHOULDER BREAKER and pinning Sheppard.
Matthew Cross vs. Jeff King Before the match Epstein made his way to ringside with the Pride of Kansas City. Cross took an early advantage, but the tables turned when Cross missed a turnbuckle charge and tumbled out of the ring. King attempted to hit Cross with a chair, but the ref stopped him. King shoved past the ref and continued his assault. Cross was visibly injured as King locked in the BEAR HUG. Cross tried to survive, but was unable to hold on and finally passed out in the arms of King.
(Epstein enters the ring and presents King with the Pride of Kansas City and congratulates him. King celebrates to a mixed reaction as Epstein checks on Cross, who is currently being tended to at ringside by Dr. Jacob Omen. King continues to play to the crowd.)
King: Matthew Cross said he is the best. Well all I do is beat the best. Cheer me. I am your champion.
