I went to this show tonight.
Bell time was 7 yet Final Battle started at 5 so I watched the first 5 matches of Final Battle and ordered a Lyft and then watched the next two Final Battle matches on my phone as I was driven to Sam's Town (the venue for ROH's next Anniversary weekend in March, the venue for Impact's 3 day TV tapings in February, and the venue where Ring Warriors films all their shows.) I still need to watch the last two matches of Final Battle.
Because I was watching Final Battle earlier, I got to Sam's Town a litte late into the opening match- the annual rumble, but my friend Alex (who works for PWG and for Bar Wrestling) saved me a good seat.
Disco Inferno's elimination from the rumble was hilarious. The final 3 came down to the current FSW Tag Team Champions The Bag Boys (Suede Thompson and Chris Bey) and Sefa Fatu (the son of Rikishi- who lives here in Las Vegas- and brother of the Usos.) Sefa Fatu got eliminated and the Bag Boys went at it with Chris Bey winning the annual rumble for the second consecutive year.
Owen Travers (you saw him on Smackdown this past week as one of the Vegas Boys- yet nobody who lives in Las Vegas knows who the other "Vegas Boy" is- I think he might really be from either Arizona or Utah) defeated Damien Drake to retain the No Limits Championship
Taya Valkyrie defeated Sandra Moon to retain the Women's Championship. Sandra Moon is actually a student at the high school where I teach World History. She has already been booked and wrestled in California where she has competed in a broadcasted match on CWFH's TV tapings. I think tonight against Taya may have been her biggest match in her career and she got in some decent offense. I think she has an awesome future inside the squared circle.
FSW Tag Team Champions 1 Percent defeated Whirlwind Gentlemen. Royce Isaacs of 1 Percent continue to show why he is so damn good and one of my favorite West Coast wrestlers. I really hope he is in the next CWFH set!
Graves defeated Lance Hoyt to retain the Nevada State Championship
Chris Bey (who got this title match as a result of winning the rumble earlier in the night) defeated Alexander Hammerstone to win the FSW Championship. I don't think I like Hammerstone's new look with his short cropped blond hair, red leather jacket, and tinted sunglass- fans were chanting "Y2H" at him tonight-I think he was better as an evil version of a Thor looking god like warrior. Johnny Mecca (Impact/Mundo/etc) made a surprise appearance by taking out Hammerstone for previously kicking his wife Taya in the face on a previous FSW show and this interference allowed Bey to win both the match and the FSW Championship. Johnny Mecca hen challenged Hammerstone to a steel cage match at next month's FSW show at Sam's Town. Johnny Mecca said he woud turn Sam's Town into Slam's Town.
Afterward my friend Alex drove me home and told me would let me in early when I go to where he works at Bar Wrestling on the 31st. That way all 5'8" of me can see the standing room only show lol (if I am too far back from the ring at a standing room only show then I will not see anything due to my short height.)
I had a great time tonight both viewing Final Battle and attending FSW's Against All Odds.

Speaking of Final Battle, the match between Dalton Castle and Matt Taven was great!
