How often do you guys do special matches.Do you use them after a couple of dq's or do you use them to settle the feud once and for all?

I have one on every card my "Heavy Metal" title is defeneded...it is a special match championship.
Other than that...when the need arises, as you stated, both to settle DQ's and feuds.

I tend to only for blow off matches if there’s a lot of interference or DQs beforehand. Another time I do them is to spice up a feud that’s been going for years. For example Thantos and Star Warrior first started feuding in 2087. By 2092 every match between the two will be a special match. I figure the fans have seen it so many times before you have to up the ante.

It really just depends on the feud and how much you build it. I allow a title contender to have 3 shots at the title, so I usually make the third one a 2/3 Falls match. For violent feuds I usually save the special match (cage, checkers, Tetris, etc.) for a PPV.
