Obviously I purchase the wrestler cards to play the game, but the wrestler cards are so nice (especially the color artwork) that I am concerned about keeping them in as near to mint condition as possible. The easiest solution would be to purchase every card/card set twice... One to play the game with and one to keep in great condition... but I don't make that kind of money, so that's not the best option for me. It seems to me that some kind of balance must be struck. What do you guys do?
Someone suggested to me that I should laminate the cards, but it seems to me that doing so would automatically decrease their value. Maybe keep each card in some kind of clear plastic pouch?

4 x 6 toploaders are the way to go. Ask around to see what kind everyone uses. I had one that was supposedly a 4x6 when I started playing that didn’t fit my cards, so I assumed there wasn’t a plastic card cover that fit them. I decided to laminate them all, because their only (likely) value will ever to be to me. I then worried the laminate would scratch and luck bad after years of use, so I decided to buy 5x7 toploaders (as 4x6 no longer fit because of the laminate around the card) & cut and inch off the tops (w/ my paper cutter). It’s a crazy process but they are double protected. If you laminate them, I would buy the light plastic sleeves to put over them just in case. They are much cheaper than the hard plastic toploaders. I just remember what some of my plastics looked like eventually w my Magic cards back in the day & didn’t want my FG cards to look that way.

I’ve spilled OJ on my cards several times and it went inside the plastics on a bunch of the cards. Without the laminate, they would’ve been toast. That being said, I wish I would’ve done the 4x6 for storage space alone. It also looks nicer snug, where I have an extra inch of space w my setup.

yeah sleeve for certain. I had a bunch of cards decide to stick together for no apparent reason so I've been getting sleeves. Really want the hard sleeves but out of my budget for now (I have over a thousand cards to sleeve at this point I believe) but the soft sleeves do in a pinch.

Would it be too much to ask you to post a link here to a site that sells the kind of sleeves you're talking about? If it is, I understand and will try to find myself. I'm just not certain what kind of sleeves you're referring to. Thanks!

If u don’t have a lot to sleeve and want to do the hard top loaders, check Amazon for prices under “4x6 toploaders” and compare prices. Other day I saw 25 for 6.99, but they are usually around $10. I bought all mine gradually and even by the case a few times or it would’ve cost a fortune. Also got some great deals. If u have a ton of cards right now, use Troys method. Way cheaper!

I actually placed a new order for the 4X6 UltraPro toploaders today, after Galactcion I needed more for the upcoming 2 Indy sets and Q3 Promoter Prime cards. They keep the cards in great condition- I roll the dice right on top of the hard plastic toploaders when I am playing the game with no damage to the cards whatsoever.
