Defiant Wrestling has issued a statement on Twitter announcing that they’re closing their doors. Founded in 2016, the promotion originally ran under the banner What Culture Pro Wrestling (WCPW), and featured talents from all around the world including: WALTER, Will Ospreay, Kurt Angle, Cody Rhodes, Lucha Brothers, PAC, Jushin Thunder Liger, Pete Dunne, Tessa Blanchard, Zack Sabre Jr, Marty Scurll, Jay Lethal, Bea Priestly, Drew Galloway (McIntyre), Jay Lethal, and many more. From 2017-2018, it was run by former WWE superstar Stu Bennett (aka Bad News Barrett). Check out their announcement below. It has been an absolutely incredible journey over the past three years, but it is with a heavy heart that we today announce that the journey must come to an end.⁰⁰ To each and every one of you who worked on a show, attended a show, or watched a show… thank you.

Bummer. I do watch some of their stuff on Youtube, but I will say that their product has suffered a lot recently, mostly having young talent and really no star power to speak of. They lost a lot of talent to WWE NXT UK, and other indie promotions. Hard to keep things going. I did really enjoy their product when they did the World Cup and when Drew Galloway was their Champion.
