Earlier today MLW CEO Court Bauer issued a statement on company star “Filthy” Tom Lawlor where Bauer wished the former heavyweight champion the best of luck on all his future endeavors indicating that he was finished with the promotion. PW Insider reports that Lawlor will indeed be finished with MLW at the conclusion of his current contract next month. He is still scheduled to appear at their tapings next month from New York City.
Word is that Lawlor and MLW’s continued stand-still on negotiations was the reason he decided not to return.

Shame that he's leaving.

Bummer. But I am a big proponent of talent rotation. Tom has been in MLW for a while and has done some good stuff. Better he moves on to something new than get stale sticking around.

MLW did a promo thing with this, with Tom and the Von Erich's where an interviewer asked Tom about signing with WWE, to which he blew them off and gave attitude.
I'm not sure if he's been asked if he wants a try out at WWE or not, but I bet he'll hang around Vegas some too, as he calls that "home".

Then again, this wouldn't be the first time MLW has worked the media. Could all be an angle.

Today Lawlor tweeted that he's no longer taking bookings after 2019, so that makes it sound like he's WWE or AEW bound in the new year.

There's going to be a match between Lawlor & Davey Boy Smith Jr. on the next MLW episode on YouTube. Just saw it listed on their channel tonight!

On this week's MLW episode they talked waaay too much about Lawlor leaving. I can't help but think that this is a work.
