I just got back to Las Vegas after going to Night 2 of Bar Wrestling.
After I checked out from my hotel, I sent a message to my friend Alex asking if he could drive me to the venue later and he said yes but that Joey Ryan wanted him to pick up Tommy Dreamer and his girlfriend at their hotel near LAX and drive them to the show. So I rode over to the show today with Tommy Dreamer. We told Tommy that we live in Las Vegas and Tommy (who said he is flying out to Detroit tomorrow to write TV for Impact) talked about Impact returning to Las Vegas for 3 nights next month and how the WWE went and scheduled NXT in Las Vegas for 1 of those same 3 nights. I did not tell Tommy that I think I am going to NXT instead of Impact that night.
some match results tonight:
Andy Brown, Ray Rosas, and Priscilla Kelly defeated Chris Bey, Eli Everfly and Miranda Alize
If you have been watching AEW, you may remember Miranda Alize making an appearance a couple of weeks ago when AEW was in Texas (she was trained in the Houston area by Booker T.)
Jake Atlas defeated Adrian Quest
This was the final Bar Wrestling match for Jake Atlas before he leaves for NXT. For his final match, Atlas requested Adrian Quest as his opponent. Adrian Quest is a name to keep an eye on. On the most recent episode of CWFH, Quest defeated Royce Isaacs for the United Television Championship and he is also making his debut for GCW in Los Angeles later this month.
In addition to Jake Atlas leaving for the WWE, it was also announced that Bar Wrestling commentator Kathy Campanelli is also leaving to a bigger promotion (I know which 1 but that part was not announced publicly so I am not saying here as that is not my news to announce.) In addition to doing commentary for Bar Wrestling, Campanelli also does backstage promo interviews for CWFH and occasional ring announcing here in Las Vegas for FSW. Back in October at an FSW show I sat near where Campanelli was sitting and I did not know two of the wrestlers in the opening match and she told me alot about them. Her wrestling knowledge is great and I think the fed that hired her made an awesome decision.
The RockNES Monsters defeated Revolt! (Caleb Konley & Zane Riley) and Dom Kubrick and Heather Monroe
Tommy Dreamer defeated Watts in a Hardcore match
Afterward, Dreamer announced that he wrestled in 206 matches last year in 2019 and this match tonight marks the start of his 4th decade in wrestling.
Kris Statlander defeated Gisele Shaw
David Arquette and RJ City defeated Colt Cabana and Joey Ryan
This was one of my favorite matches of the night, great comedy.
Brian Cage defeated Teddy Hart
This was another really good match. Malcolm (
cman,
TDalton, and
Chad Olson, know who he is) was in the crowd tonight- yesterday and today were the first times I had seen him at Bar Wrestling- and cheering on Teddy.
At Intermission I got my copy of Kris Statlander's card autographed. Also at Intermission, I made another good signing to the game for a total of 4 signings at Bar Wrestling's New Years Eve and New Years Day shows. After the show, I also talked to someone else about the game who I was not able to sign at that time but I have reason for optimism that he might sign in the future. I will be passing on that information to Todd and Mike tomorrow after I get some sleep.
I fell asleep a couple of times on the way home. It was a great two days. Normally I do not do much on New Years. There are currently 330,000 visitors in Las Vegas for New Years, so the last place I want to go is the Strip. But I have really enjoyed going to Bar Wrestling in California for New Years the last two years, probably my favorite two New Years ever.
