WCW SuperBrawl
Heavenly Bodies over Rock-n-Roll Xpress w/James Cornette by pinfall when Tom Prichard pinned Nick after an elbow drop. (2 stars)
The Bodies seemed to be arguing as they made their way down for the opening match. Lucky for them they were able to work together in the ring. Xpress were dominating Tom but couldn't put him away. He was able to tag out. From there the Bodies controlled things and made frequent tags and double teaming. Once they won the match they celebrated and past issues were forgotten.
A look at the NWA World title match later tonight.
The Rock-n-Roll Xpress return to the locker room and the Midnight Express start snickering.
Bobby Eaton: Nice job. You lost to the most out of sync team.
Nick: Don't worry about us. You two need to focus on not losing the tag titles.
Finlay beat Kevin Sullivan by pinfall following a Shillelagh. (2 stars)
A brutal fight as both men slugged it out. The end came when Fnlay brought a chair into the ring. The ref took it away and as he went to put it out of the ring Finlay grabbed his shillelagh and cracked it over Kevin's head.
A promo stating that there will be a new Flair for the Gold on Monday. It is promised to be a not to miss episode that will shake up the wrestling world.
MVC beat Midnight Express w/James Cornette in a WCW World Tag Team Championship match via pinfall when Terry Gordy pinned Bobby Eaton after a lariat to win the titles. (3 stars)
The IWGP Tag Team champs are not fancy. They simply overpower and roll over their opponents. That is what happened here. The theme of this match was the lariat. Both members of MVC leveled both members of Midnight Express with numerous lariats. James Cornette tries to stick his nose in a couple times but was scared off by MVC. The end was result was new champions.
A promo video showing a spinning disco ball. Then the words "The One Man Party is coming to Nitro" superimposed over the ball.
Super Crazy defeated Missing Link by pinfall after a Moonsault. (1 star)
Crazy was never in trouble in this one. His first Moonsault didn't get the three count but his second one did.
The Midnight Express have their bags and are headed out of the arenas when they are stopped by Rock-n-Roll Xpress.
Matt: Hey boys off so soon. Wait, something is not right. Did you forget something?
Nick: Oh I know what it is. The Tag Team belts. Where are they? Did you guys lose them?
Dennis and Bobby look at each other. Then they drop their bags and attack the Xpress. All four men are slugging it out when security rush over to try and separate them.
Lou Thesz beat Nigel McGuinness in a NWA World Championship match by pinfall with a double wristlock to retain. (2 stars) Nigel looked good early on but the champ fought back. He hit a Lou Thesz Press, or as he calls it a Me Press, but only got a two count. A couple minutes later he was once again successful in defending his title.
Bryan Danielson over Buddy Rogers in a WCW World Championship match by pinfall after a missile dropkick to win the title. (4 stars)
Both men fought tooth and nail for a few minutes. Neither man giving an inch. Bryan had the champ in Cattle Mutilation but Buddy fought out of it. Then we see Ric Flair come out from back and walk down to ringside. He and Bryan had a few words then Ric cheered for Buddy and clapped his hands.
After a couple more minutes of intense action Bryan applied his submission finisher. Flair reached over and placed Buddy's leg on the rope. The ref saw it and reprimanded Flair who tried to play innocent. As Bryan leaned on the ropes and yelled at him Buddy jumped him.
Buddy went to toss Bryan into the ropes and Flair stood by that side of the apron looking away. Thus he didn't see Bryan reverse and toss Buddy into the ropes. As Buddy hit them Flair reached in and tripped him. When Flair turned around to see what happened he couldn't believe it. The ref looked at him and he held his hands up as that was not his plan.
As Bryan starts working over Buddy in the ring on the floor Flair takes off the jacket to his Armani suit and tosses it onto the ground. Bryan hits a missile dropkick and rolls Buddy up for the one, two, three.
As Bryan is handed the World title belt and is all smiles Ric slides in the ring and gets in his face. They men glare angrily at each other for a few seconds. Then the smile returns to Bryan's face. He holds up a fist then slowly uncurls his fingers till he is holding four of them up. At that Flair smiles and also holds up four fingers. Them embrace in a hug then Flair stands next to Bryan with an each man's arm around the others shoulder. They do Flair's strut and stop and both give a "woo". What does this mean? Are the Four Horsemen reuniting?

Big John Studd w/Bobby Heenan beat Tony Atlas by pinfall after a back suplex. (3 stars)

Bret Hart: Not now. I'm gonna take some time to rest my bumps and bruises. I'm just gonna focus on training and leading you guys.
Owen Hart: Then maybe I should give it a shot.
Bret Hart: Maybe but you need to rack up some more wins before they will give you a title match.
Roddy Piper beat George Steele by pinfall following a Back Suplex. (2 stars)
Steele put up a good fight early on then the Rowdy one started wearing him down.
After his win Piper asked for a mic.
Roddy Piper: I see that the World Champion Randy Savage still doesn't have an opponent for WrestleMania. So I want to fill that need. It's about time he stopped ducking me and faced me in the ring. Otherwise we should change his nickname from Macho Man to not a man.
WCW Nitro
We kick off the show on the set of Flair for the Gold. Ric is in an expensive Armani suit and Fifi is standing behind him holding a plate with three flutes of champagne.
Ric Flair: Last night at the PPV my guest beat that has been Buddy Rogers for the World title. Give a warm welcome to the new WCW World Champion, Bryan Danielson. With that the champion, nicely dressed and sporting the belt on his shoulder, comes out to boos.
Bryan Danielson: My man Ric Flair. Last night your plan worked to a T.
Ric Flair: Well it wasn't my first rodeo let me tell ya. But my plan wouldn't have worked without your exceptional wrestling skill. It's why I hand picked you to be the crown jewel in my new Four Horsemen. For the record I will be only managing my group. Bryan here is the leader. What a start to the new Horsemen, owning the World title. Now let's have a drink to celebrate.
Fifi brings over the drinks and each man takes one.
Ric Flair: Oh yes, I almost forgot. Our second guest. The second member of the Four Horsemen. This man is amazing. He's incredible. In fact you can say he is...phenomenal. Ladies and gentlemen welcome the Phenomenal A...J...Styles.
The crowd is shocked to see AJ. Some boo while others cheer.
AJ Styles: Thank you Mr. Flair. Hello champ. It's a pleasure to be included in the greatest faction in wrestling history. I plan on showing I belong. Starting next week when I face that old timer broken down Harley Race for the United States title. I will take that heavy belt off his old bag of bones so he can go to the old folks home and retire. Eating some pudding and watch Murder She Wrote.
All three man laugh as AJ takes the third flute. They clank glasses and take a drink. Flair ends with a "woo".
Christopher Daniels beat Super Crazy with a pinfall after an Angel Wings. (2 stars)
The new comer looked pretty good against the Mexican vet even if he had to use a handful of tights to secure the win.
Kevin Sullivan, with bandages on his forehead, and Tony Schiavone are on the stage near the entrance.
Tony: After your match last night at SuperBrawl where you took a hit from Finlay's shillelagh you were diagnosed with a possible concussion. You asked for this time to address it so what would you like to say?
Kevin Sullivan: When Finlay swung his weapon and hit me on the head it opened my eyes. I was able to look into the dark abyss of existence. I saw the horror of reality and realized the depths of the human soul. I now see what I must do. Finlay. Finlay come out and face me.
There is a pause as they wait then out walks Finlay. Before any words can be spoken two men rush out and attack Finlay. Two scary looking men. It's Ox Baker and "Wild" Bull Curry. They pound on Finlay till he's laid out.
Kevin Sullivan: Oh where are my manners. Let me introduce my friends to you Finlay. They are Ox Baxer and Bull Curry. They are part of my Dungeon of Doom.
With that he walks off and his two men follow him. Medical staff come out to check on Finlay.
SST beat Hammer & Sickle by pinfall when Samu pinned Ivan Koloff after a double team headbutt. (1 star) Alofa fought with Boris than Ivan. He was able to wear Ivan down then tagged Samu where they hit their double team move and picked up the W. It snapped a long losing streak by SST.

The first two names to be confirmed are legends from Japan. Jushin Thunder Liger and Tiger Mask. More names to be announced later. Wild Red Berry was a multi time holder of the now defunct NWA Light Heavyweight Championship. The Tournament should feature some wild exciting matches.

Nick was on his A game in this one. After Mil submitted Nick held the hold on till the ref started to count. He then released it to avoid a DQ.

Rock-n-Roll Xpress w/James Cornette beat Heavenly Bodies by pinfall when Matt pinned Tom Prichard after a Moonsault. (1 star)
A rematch from last nights PPV but with a much different result. The Xpress were angry and took it out on the Bodies who saw their winning ways come to an abrupt end. As the Xpress were celebrating in the ring the Midnight Express came out and down to ringside. Both teams were jawjacking as Cornette tried to keep the peace.
ECW Chaos
We see Shane Douglas, Francine, Samoa Joe, Chris Candido and Tammy Lynn Sytch in their locker room.
Shane Douglas: Ha, ha, ha. I just love it when a plan works out. You are looking at the most powerful group in ECW. We are the Triple Threat. One Man Gang it's just a matter of time before I take what is rightfully mine from you. I could use the cliche of I'm playing chess while you play checkers but let's be honest. You are barely playing Tic Tac Toe. But tonight Chris is bringing gold to the Triple Threat when he beats 2 Cold Scorpio. This world is ours.
Raven w/Stevie Richards beat The Sandman by pinfall with a Raven Effect DDR. (1 star)

Chris Candido w/Tammy Lynn Sytch beat 2 Cold Scorpio in an ECW TV Championship match by pinfall after a Superplex to win the title. (3 stars)
Tammy was very useful in thus match. Her man was in trouble when she hopped on the apron and distracted 2 Cold with her "assets". That allowed Chris to recover and go to work. His finisher didn't get the win but took a lot out of the champ. Once Chris hit a Superplex he was able to get the three count. He was the new TV Champion.
NEWS: NWA:Wildside held a four team, double elimination tournament to crown new tag champs. It was won by Forever Hooligans who were undefeated in the tournament.

Stoked that AJ managed to snag the U.S. title... Beating Handsome Harley is never an easy proposition... And with Danielson joining him and Flair as part of the Horsemen, it's gonna be tough for anyone to take that title away... PHENOMENAL!
Also enjoying Raven's successful run in ECW thus far... Would love to see him get a crack at the gold... Truth!

A bit later they had back to back wins over the former tag champs.

Both men had nice offensive runs and at times seemed they would get the win. Finally the second 450 Splash of the match earned Juventud the victory so he moves on.
There is a disturbance in the back. The Midnight Express and Rock-n-Roll Xpress are arguing in a hallway as officials try to keep them from coming to blows. James Cornette comes on the scene to try and calm both his teams down.
Bobby Eaton: You need to pick who you want to manage James. Us or them? Dennis Condrey: We want a match against them next week.
Matt Jackson: Against us? You can't beat The Fantastics. No way you can handle us.
While all of this is happening James just looks conflicted and upset.

The Grappler was pretty dominating in this match. He hit Jerry with a big boot three times. Who knows if loaded or not. What is known is Jerry was busted open as blood flowed down his face. Jerry looked hopeless when he hit the crossbody and rolled The Grappler up for the three count.
Jerry could not celebrate as The Grappler attacked him from behind. After beating him down for a bit The Grappler rolled to the floor. Tommy Dreamer ran down and chased The Grappler off but the damage had been done.

Upset that he lost and feeling he had nothing to lose now The Mountie handcuffed Blair to the ropes. Then he shocked him over and over. Then The Sheik with a chair came running down. He swung the chair as The Mountie swung the Shock Stick. Both men dropped their weapon and started throwing wild punches. Security came down and finally tore them apart.

Tony: Both your tag teams will be facing off in tonight's main event. Who's corner will you be in?
An annoyed look crosses James's face.
James: How can I pick. Both teams are amazing. The Midnight Express are vets and former tag champs. The Rock-n-Roll Xpress are young and the future of the business. Why can't they just get along. My blood pressure is higher than a hippie at Woodstock. Tonight I will be in a neutral corner. Hopefully after this match they can shake hands and put this craziness behind us.
Christopher Daniels beat Yellow Mask by pinfall after an Angel's Wings. (1 star)

- Tiger Mask vs Ricochet.
Midnight Express over Rock-n-Roll Xpress by pinfall when Dennis Condrey pinned Matt after a shoulder power slam. (1 star)
James Cornette paced around outside the ring the whole match. In the ring Midnight Express simply dominated the younger team. They hit a couple finishers but Matt showed toughness by kicking out. When Dennis performed the shoulder power slam Matt seemed done in. Nick was in the process of going thru the ropes to make the save when James cracked him in the back with his tennis racquet. Dennis made the pin for the win.
Midnight Express came over to celebrate with James. Meanwhile the Rock-n-Roll Xpress sat in the ring confused and upset. Why did James turn on them? Hopefully we will find out next week.

The Mongols were pounding on Player Uno then he tagged out and they continued on Dos. Player Dos fought back for a bit then he got rolled over.
Once the match was over The Mongols continued to beat on the new kids on the block. Suddenly the lights dimmed. A spot light hit the entrance and we see two men from chest down in the light. They are wearing peacoats and holding rosary beads. It's The Saints. We hear a familiar Irish prayer spoken lightly. They put their beads in their pocket and start to unbutton their coats. The lights come on and we see the two men. It's the Crist brothers, Jake and Dave. Once they remove their coats they look at each other then rush the ring. The Saints and The Mongols are involved in a wild brawl. They start in the ring and end up on the floor. They use chairs to hit each other and cables to choke one another. Finally security and officials break up the fight.
Shane Douglas w/Francine beat One Man Gang in an ECW World Championship match by pinfall after a Belly To Belly Suplex to win the title. (3 stars)
A great match that went back and forth. The champ started to gain momentum. The action spilled to the floor. While Francine didn't get directly involved she distracted Gang. That allowed Shane to recover some and hit Gang with a low blow from behind. Back in the ring he went to work and hit his finisher. He hooked Gang's leg and the ref counted three. We have a new World Champion.

James Cornette: People want to know why I did what I did last week. Why I turned on the Rock-n-Roll Xpress. Well it all goes back a few months when Mama Cornette was worried about my anger outbursts at some matches. So she paid for me to see a counselor. Well that kook convinced me that the reason I hated the real Rock-n-Roll Express was I really wanted to manage them. Well once my Midnight Express ran them off I has the opportunity to manage a new version. Well that counselor don't know squat. He should go back to school and learn refrigerator repair. I hate the Rock-n-Roll no matter who they are. So I backed my REAL team. The best team in the world. The soon to be World Tag Team Champions again. The Midnight Express.
