Unrelated: Safe to assume that the booklet for this set, similar to last year is still a work in progress? Totally fine with it, just wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing anything. With everything else going on, I didn't get it finished yet. I will post finishers tonight, and will try to finish the book in the next week or so. Thank you all for your patience! Chad please don’t think I was pushing for it, I just wanted to be sure I didn’t miss it, which has been known to happen in the past. Take all the time you need, the cards can absolutely be used with no handbook

Any ideas when this set (and the associated Con exclusive) might be showing up online?
Sincerely, An anxious promoter. 😬

...the cards can absolutely be used with no handbook Umm. No. They absolutely can't. This is absolutely 100 percent NOT a slam on Chad--he's been burning the candle at both ends and in the middle, and he has done a phenomenal job of putting out quality work (on this set, on the HoF weekend, in his real job, et al.). I have the utmost respect for him, and I agree--take your time with the handbook, and don't forget to schedule some down time just for you (and your family). But to say they can be used without a handbook is just flat wrong. What are their Finishers and specialty moves? Who is a babyface? Who is a heel? Who is teaming with whom? Who has a history with whom? I am confident all that information is coming, and I can wait to use the cards until I have the handbook. But with no context (not all of us get to see IPW on a regular basis, though I wish they could get on IWTV), no knowledge, and no exposure to the wrestlers, to say they are usable (unless one just wants to use the stat numbers--but then you may as well skip the moves altogether and just roll "move - 1...dazed - 1...move - 1...hurt - 2...move - 2...hurt - 2 (tag).") is just silly.

Well if there's one thing I've learned from the Impact shows I've been to (really Indy shows in general) faces and heels are rarely clear distinctions anymore.
I agree with the rest though.

I was only saying the cards could, and have been absolutely used for right now with no handbook. If you choose not to that is your choice. Obviously I should have provided more clarification to say not forever, in my post. I mean I would have thought that clear. Again, if you don’t want to use them until you get a book, don’t. I haven’t seen too many people complaining about the ROH sets that didn’t have handbooks, I guess no one used those cards.

Hey Sneezy, I absolutely agree with you and apologize for the delay. IPW doesn't have the online coverage like another promotion, so folks who know who teamed with who, like they might with a CZW. My plan is to have a draft to share on this board by the end of the weekend with all finishers and as much team/feuding background as I can gather. I wasn't there for the beginning of the promotion, so I don't have the familiarity with who TS Aggressor, Brent Filmore, Mr. Destiny, and Johnny Fitness teamed and battled against. I'll talk to TS, Troy Peterson, and Mike Ingy (who helped start the promotion) this weekend, but we do have the last fair show of the season tonight, and it's a six hour round trip. I'll continue to update the information as it rolls in, and will post the draft here until it gets made pretty by the FG staff and distributed. I take no offense at all to your comments, and will work hard to get this put together to the standards of other FG stuff ASAP!

I haven’t seen too many people complaining about the ROH sets that didn’t have handbooks, I guess no one used those cards. I appreciate your advocacy, malicelover, but most other promotions have a TV/online presence so folks are familiar already with the wrestlers and their feuds/alliances. I think Sneezy's comments are very valid. There's a lot of scattered IPW stuff out there across Youtube. Maybe Cory Olson can help with a thread on that info when he has some time, or I can take a stab at it when I get done with the IPW book.

I’m glad you took no offense—you have done and continue to do such a great job with all things IPW (and so does the rest of the team—I was remiss for not giving them their due, as well). Like I said—you take your time and take care of you. The handbook will come when it comes.
