Sorry to hear about this. I live with my parents, both in their 70s, and do worry that their time will come shortly. It's a terrible worry to have.
I hope all turns out for the best for you.

Thanks to everyone for the well-wishes. Here's the latest information on my mother. Saw orthopedist last week. He thinks Mom has a bone fracture, and not a torn ligament, tendon, etc. He thinks with the proper knee brace and physical therapy, she can stay home and walk with a walker.
Saw physical therapist yesterday. She says there could be a minor fracture or possibly torn ACL, but she thinks it's just deteriorating bone on bone arthritis. She doesn't think physical therapy would be much help, but she agrees with the knee brace and wants Mom to use a walker with wheels in front & feet in back. Mom likes using the four wheel walker better. Sometimes she thinks she can walk without it because she's 88 & set in her ways. The whole family can be stubborn.
We have an appointment for an MRI on Tuesday, and a follow-up with orthopedist on Thursday. Then we'll know exactly what's going on with the knee and what to do about it. I just hope she doesn't get blood building up in the knee again. That's been happening every three weeks, and this weekend would be three weeks from the last time. I'll give you another update when we get more information after next week's appointments. Thanks again to everyone in Filsinger Games Land for your support!

Figuring out exactly what the issue is tends to be the biggest problem in medicine. The body is not as clear cut as a machine which is not always clean cut itself. Once the issue is REALLY diagnosed the work to fix it can begin. I hope that comes soon. Tuesday does that hopefully. Good luck.

Giving you a e-fist bump topdollar. You're a good son. My dad passed away (slowly) my freshman year of high school and playing COTG helped me through those tough times. Not sure if you still have physical cards, but rolling out a few matches might be thereputic for you.

Thanks to all who have read & commented. You guys are the best. Here's the latest.
MRI shows no bone fractures & nothing's torn. It's just her bone on bone arthritis deteriorating to the point that it causes swelling & bleeding. Orthopedist wants someone to come to the house and measure her for a brace that will be made just for her specific knee problem. Who knows how much that will cost. He thinks that wearing the brace along with using her walker will help her get around the house better. Who knows how long we'll have to wait to get the brace. In the meantime, she had swelling & pain yesterday that made it hard to walk. I gave her Excedrin & Tramadol(a pain pill), and wrapped her knee with an elastic bandage. She's doing a little better today, but not as good as she was before we saw orthopedist on Thursday. We go back in 2 months to see how she's doing after we get the brace.
Rolling the dice on my LOW fed in my free time is the only thing keeping me sane through all this. I had to mow yesterday, so that took up a lot of my time, but mowing is not as fun as this game! LOL
Thanks again to all the Filsinger Games Promoters for your kind words and support! It's very much appreciated!

Sure, hope the brace comes quick, does not cost much and most of all helps your mom. It is tough what she is going thru but it is the price of getting older. Something we all have to pay if we are lucky. Now she just needs a refund from life in the form of being able to get around without pain. Hang in there.
