I want to know from someone who is/was there if we got the RVD artwork we all voted for here on the boards.

This makes no sense why not 2 new cards instead ? Good question. My guess is because if I remember correctly those 2 cards are going to be giveaways at GenCon to try and attract new customers. You want well recognized wrestlers for these promotions to help attract new customers. But you also don't want to use 2 big name wrestlers that haven't been released yet as those 2 giveaways so you can save them as selling points for a future set. As a LOW player, yeah of course I would prefer 2 new cards. But I realize the GenCon cards are a promotional thing.

Good point Mr. Vegas, didn't think about that possibility.

TM says Mr Vegas is right on the money. And yes we did get the art we voted on.

Understood about promotional cards, but that could have been done with existing cards, say of Danielson to give away at gencon. Just saying, players hear two new cards at gencon and those aren't what anyone was expecting.

Okay, while they are not new cards, I would still like to get my hands on them. Is there anyway that is a possibility?

We were told well in advance that these would just be different versions of existing LOW wrestlers. When people started guessing at alternate identities (Ax for Eadie, ect) TM shot it down by saying it would just be a different take on existing identities (words to that effect). This is why I don't understand why this is such a surprise, unless people didn't see that in the other thread.
I have wanted a different Snuka drawing since the original card came out. I'm very happy to hear about this. Also, there is a distinct difference between ECW RVD and WWE RVD, so I would imagine the stats on the Gencon card may reflect more the ECW Van Dam. Just a thought. I don't know if I'll go to Gencon just for the Filsinger booth (I'm close enough to make it there no problem, but don't care about any of the other gaming stuff), but I'll certainly order these the moment they're availible in the online store.

I don't think anyone has a issue with it being alternate identities but RVD and Snuka? I hope we are going to get additional alternates if these ones are released later on. I mean how about a singles version of Brutus in his Barber gimmick? Or a stronger version of Hacksaw. maybe a stronger Brody without a down-3.

Oh, no.....let's not go down that path again.
