SHIMMER - Women Athletes - The Eagles Club - Berwyn, IL (Card #828)

1) Lacey & Rain defeated Kellie Skater & Jessie McKay:
A hot opening contest saw the popular duo of the “Rate Tank” Kellie Skater & Jessie McKay battle the Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew (Lacey & Rain). Skater got the upper hand early and nearly put Lacey away with Skate or Die. The MHWC then went on an offensive tear getting the heat on Skater for an extended stretch. Rain hit the neckbreaker across the knee for a near fall. Lacey followed with her trademark move, the Implant DDT, with Skater barely kicking out before the three count. It was a double clothesline off the ropes with Rain that saw Skater recover first and make the hot tag. McKay stormed in and hit the Boyfriend Stealer, a sitout uranage, on Rain for a big near fall. She also countered a top rope attack by Lacey with a superplex. Lacey struck back with the Implant DDT but McKay kicked out. Skater tagged back in and had the upper hand until Rain surprised her with a Counter Sunset Flip off of the ropes to score the pin.

2) Courtney Rush defeated Su Young:
The popular Courtney Rush picked up a big win over Su Young in a hard fought bout. Rush looked great early scoring a near fall with a Northern Lights Suplex but then Young battled back showing great resiliency. She even kicked out after taking the Olympic Slam from Rush. Young stretched Rush with the bow and arrow and made her dizzy with the airplane spin. Rush needed to dig down deep and after hitting a top rope crossbody she trapped Young in the Indian Deathlock resulting in a submission victory for the star billed as being from “Winningpeg”, Manitoba, Canada. Amber Gertner caught up with Rush on her way out of the ring and she said that she is looking for a match with MsChif to avenge the recent losses her friend Athena suffered to the “Goth-banshee”. An angered MsChif showed up and said that she had enough of dealing with “sub par” opponents but that she would take the match on the next SHIMMER card to “put Rush in her place”. Rush was defiant in the face of the former two-time SHIMMER champion and said that MsChif will be the one put in her place.

3) Regeneration-X defeated Sassy Stephie & Nevaeh:
The recent injury suffered by Cherry Bomb at the hands of Sassy Stephie & Nevaeh saw the highly popular team of Regeneration-X (Allison Danger & Leva Bates) out for a bit of revenge for their fallen friend. R-X showed up in cosplay fashion with Bates dressed as Han Solo and Danger as Princess Leia of Star Wars fame. It was a little levity before what turned into a bitter showdown between the two teams. This one had a little bit of everything as both teams looked for victory. Stephie was pretty dominant during her time in and nearly pinned Bates after hitting Kiss My Sass, a falling neckbreaker on to the knee. Nevaeh had less luck as R-X were able to get her in serious trouble for a long stretch. Nevaeh wound up being busted open but she showed great resiliency by surviving the Medusa Cascade, Lovelace Choker, and the Shimmering Warlock. Bates would then come off of the top rope with a flying bodypress when suddenly the feared Jessicka Havok showed up. She attempted to get involved but that backfired and R-X hit the Sonic Screwdriver, a lung blower by Bates followed by a neckbreaker over the knee by Danger, on Nevaeh. Danger then fell on top of her to score the pin as Bates successfully fought off Stephie. It was a huge win for R-X and a measure of revenge for Cherry Bomb who should be returning to action soon.

4) Rockin Robin defeated Veda Scott:
Making her LOW and SHIMMER debut it was veteran star Rockin Robin out of Charlotte, NC, taking on Providence, RI, native Veda Scott. The action was fast and furious in this one with both women looking good. Scott nearly won it with the Q.E.D., a pair of double DDT’s but Robin was able to kick out. Robin battled back hitting such moves as the swinging neckbreaker, middle rope sunset flip, and the high cross bodypress. Scott made a good accounting of herself but it was Robin who would get the victory when she hit the Flying Bulldog from the second rope to score the pin. Amber Gertner caught up with Robin post-match and she said that she is in SHIMMER for one reason and that is to win the SHIMMER championship, a belt which is currently held by her legendary rival Sherri Martel.

5) Lufisto, Penny Banner, & Tina Moretti defeated Glamour Girls & Thunderkitty by Count Out:
The first of two six-woman tag team battles saw the trio of Lufisto, Penny Banner, & Tina Moretti take on former SHIMMER tag team champions the Glamour Girls (Leilani Kai & Judy Martin) along with Thunderkitty. Great early action saw Lufisto nearly put Kai away using the rear naked choke for a submission chance. Kai fought back and scored a near fall on Banner with a scoop slam and press. Thunderkitty was effective throughout the match using headbutts, chops, and her trademark Cornbread Clutch. Banner would score another near fall when she came off of the top rope with a flying bodypress on Martin. Moretti took a beating from all three of the opponents but was able to survive. The spunky star from Seattle, WA, wound up helping her team win when she avoided a shoulder charge by Thunderkitty which caused her to hit her shoulder on the ring post. Thunderkitty was in great pain from that and despite the efforts of Kai and Martin to assist her she was unable to beat the ten count back into the ring giving Lufisto, Banner, and Moretti a count out win. An upset Thunderkitty grabbed the mic post-match and challenged Moretti to a singles match on the next SHIMMER card which was accepted to cheers from the crowd.

6) Jessicka Havok defeated Sara Del Ray:
A battle of the female titans saw the popular Sara Del Ray take on Jessicka Havok, the feared SHIMMER newcomer nicknamed the “Havok Death Machine”. Havok has served notice that she is prepared to fight any and all opposition but Del Ray is not just any opponent. The Martinez, CA, native has battled all of the top names and was out to prove to Havok that she could go toe to toe with her. Havok took this one to the outside multiple times and mauled Del Ray including running her back first into the guard rail. Del Ray battled back and nearly lost it by disqualification when she sent Havok into the ring post. She also caught Havok with a release German Suplex and trapped her in the LeBell Lock. Havok weathered the storm, though, and punished Del Ray scoring near falls with a chokeslam and triple kick combo. She then put this one away by powering Del Ray up for the Havokiller, a sitout Power Bomb, to score the pin. It was a brutal, hard fought battle and one that will help put Havok on the map in SHIMMER as a victory over “Death Ray” will set her on the path to title contention.

7) Saraya Knight defeated Mercedes Martinez:
The intense battle between Sara Del Ray and Jessicka Havok was immediately followed by this one between the “Latina Sensation” Mercedes Martinez and Saraya Knight, the double tough star out of Norwich, England. Knight has been frustrated in recent weeks and was hoping to get one over on Martinez who is considered one of the top contenders to the SHIMMER championship. Early action saw the two battling out to the floor several times narrowly avoiding a disqualification. Knight used a chair out of view of the referee striking Martinez in the leg. That set up her using the Knightmare, a single-leg Boston Crab, for a submission chance. Martinez fought back hard and scored a big near fall after hitting the brainbuster. She also stunned Knight with the 3 Amigas, a series of two vertical suplexes into a German Suplex. It was a real physical battle between the two which Knight won when she followed up a side suplex with the Running Samoan Drop to score the pin. Knight followed up her big win with an interview with Amber Gertner where she proclaimed herself the true number one contender for the SHIMMER championship.

8) Sherri Martel, Nora Greenwald, & Joyce Grable defeated Cheerleader Melissa, Portia Perez, & Nicole Matthews by DQ:
The main event was a six-woman grudge match pitting the unlikely team of Cheerleader Melissa and the Canadian Ninjas (Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews) against SHIMMER champion Sherri Martel and SHIMMER tag team champions Nora Greenwald & Joyce Grable. The trio of Martel, Greenwald, and Grable grabbed all of the championship gold from Melissa and the Ninjas on the last card setting up this unique challenge match. Melissa went at Martel with a vengeance early including planting her with a curb stomp. Grable gained some revenge for Martel by scoring successive near falls on Melissa with a barrage of dropkicks and a giant swing. It was a controversial move by Martel that led to the finish as after getting the heat on Melissa for an extended stretch she attempted a pin using the ropes. Both Perez and Matthews jumped in and tore into Martel breaking up the pin. They then knocked both Greenwald and Grable off of the ring apron before turning back to Martel. The record eight-time SHIMMER champion was left at the mercy of Melissa and the Ninjas and they showed none by launching a three-on-one attack. That was capped off by the Ninjas laying Martel out with the Funky Cold Medina, a superkick by Perez into a bridging German Suplex by Matthews. The referee called for the bell ordering a disqualification of Melissa, Perez, and Matthews for excessive double and triple teaming as Greenwald and Grable pulled Martel out of the ring.

●SHIMMER promoter Dave Prazak showed up following the main event and made a controversial ruling that neither Melissa nor the Ninjas would receive return title matches on the next card in Berwyn, IL (Card #838). The crowd jeered that announcement but Prazak said that it was a just decision due to their actions in the main event. A fatigued Martel smiled and clutched her championship belt as did Grable and Greenwald but Prazak wasn’t finished. He announced that Melissa and the Ninjas would instead face Martel, Greenwald, and Grable in a return Steel Cage Match where the winner of the fall would win the championship of their defeated opponent but that if Martel’s team won then Melissa and the Ninjas would be barred from gaining any title rematches. It was a controversial ruling that left all six women angry but Prazak stood by it. He said that based on the result of the main event it was a decision he had to make to restore order to the championship picture in SHIMMER.

A really fun Shimmer show and it's great seeing Rockin Robin with the vctory, plus seeing J.Havok over SDR is good stuff. Overall another solid batch of matches Crue...

What a screw job by Prazak! Melissa and the Ninjas deserve better. Cherry Bomb is hiding behind a supposed injury and letting Bates and Danger handle her business- what an embarrassment. This fed is filled with nothing but cowards, both in the ring and in the office.

CHIKARA - CP Munk vs. Colt Cabunny - Nah, Just Kidding! - Logan Square Auditorium - Chicago, IL (Card #829)

●CHIKARA Director of Fun Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana opened the show chastising CHIKARA for the show title saying that CP Munk and Colt Cabunny are two legendary stars deserving of great praise. He ran down their list of accomplishments including the fact that both are former world heavyweight champions of the animal kingdom and that Munk is a future legend of mixed martial arts. He said his comments should not be taken seriously as it is all in good fun though he did say that Punk will likely drop a “pipe bomb” if the subject of “CP Munk” is brought up to him drawing cheers from the crowd. The pro “Munk and Cabunny” crowd did a chant of their names back and forth as Cabana reminded the CHIKARA brass that this is Chicago and that as an ambassador of the great city all he had to say was “Welcome to Chicago Moth…” but then he was interrupted by CHIKARA original Mister ZERO. The “middle aged office worker” reminded Cabana that CHIKARA is PG so he should watch his mouth. He then said that if they were here he would defeat both Munk and Cabunny in a handicap match. Cabana took exception to that and said that since he is “nursing a cold” he had a different opponent in mind for ZERO and that his match against CHIKARA founder Mike Quackenbush was up next…

1) Mister ZERO defeated Mike Quackenbush:
Mister ZERO got the early jump poking Mike Quackenbush in the eyes and then drinking a coffee to a big pop from the crowd. They were off to the races from there with some great fast paced action. ZERO took control after countering a back bodydrop and then hitting the Last Shaven Unicorn Drop for a big near fall. Quackenbush battled back but then ZERO caught him with the Blue Thunder Bomb to score the pin. It was a huge upset as ZERO scored his biggest win to date in CHIKARA. Quackenbush was stunned afterward as he was helped up by Colt Cabana. ZERO then left the ring reading his newspaper to big cheers from the crowd. Cabana tried to raise the arm of Quackenbush in a gesture of goodwill but the CHIKARA founder pushed him away and left the ring. The crowd, perhaps ticked off about the “Munk and Cabunny” references, serenaded Quackenbush, the usually popular CHIKARA founder, with boos in an almost surreal scene.

2) Los Ice Creams defeated Crossbones & Hydra:
The cult favorite tag team of Los Ice Creams (El Hijo del Ice Cream & Ice Cream, Jr.) took on Crossbones & Hydra of the Order of the Neo Solar Temple. The duo of Crossbones and Hydra were under a lot of pressure due to representing Ultramantis Black and unfortunately they caved in the end. The Ice Creams were clicking on all sprinkles in this one using quick tags and nice offense to score a series of near falls. Crossbones was very effective during his time in as well even kicking out after taking El Asesino from the Ice Creams. The finish saw Hydra laid out with a devastating Sprinkle Bomb by Ice Cream, Jr. That led to El Hijo del Ice Cream finishing off the “powerful” star with a Flying Reverse Elbow for the pin. The Ice Creams celebrated with a delicious victory dance much to the delight of the crowd.

3) 3.0 defeated Archibald Peck & Jakob Hammermeier:
Outstanding tag team action saw the popular duo of 3.0 (Scott “Jagged” Parker & “Big Magic” Shane Matthews) battle Peck-N-Hammer (Archibald Peck & Jakob Hammermeier, with Veronica). 3.0 were dominant early including Matthews trapping Peck in the “Boston Crab!” for a submission chance. They also executed some nice double-team moves including the flapjack and power bomb combo. Peck turned things around and picked up a near fall on “Big Magic” with a Perfect Armony. It was a good lead in for Hammermeier who scored another near fall on Matthews after a neck snap over the top rope. A flurry of action led to the finish with Parker catching Peck by surprise with the Flash Roll-Up to score the pin.

4) The Throwbacks defeated Tursas, Brodie Lee, & Grizzly Redwood:
This trios match between The Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield, Sugar Dunkerton, & Mr. Touchdown) and Tursas, Brodie Lee, and Grizzly Redwood served as a backdrop for a major business transaction and a backstabbing. Surprisingly it wasn’t The Throwbacks who were involved in a backstabbing considering the growing tension between Dunkerton and Mr. Touchdown. Prior to the match it was “Sweet N’ Sour” Larry Sweeney, the former 12-Large Grand champion and Director of Fun, making a business deal with The Dark Menace to sell him the contract of the massive 6’7” and 375-pound Tursas. Sweeney was beaming as The Dark Menace handed him a suitcase full of cash and he then strutted down the aisle celebrating his monetary gain. The Dark Menace looked pleased as Tursas and Lee dominated the early action. That included Lee hitting the Big Boot on Dunkerton for a near fall. It was Redwood that proved to be the so-called “weak link” in this one as The Throwbacks cut him off from making the tag and Mr. Touchdown pinned him after hitting the Extra Point, a spinning spinebuster. The Dark Menace was visibly upset over the loss and he ordered Tursas and Lee to attack Redwood following the match. They laid him out with a devastating double power bomb followed by Tursas delivering the Diving Cross Body splash off of the second rope.

*Grizzly Redwood was seriously injured as a result of the post-match attack by Tursas and Brodie Lee which was ordered by The Dark Menace. He suffered several broken ribs and a concussion which will keep him out of action indefinitely. The Dark Menace was visibly pleased with the call he made saying that the business deal he made with Larry Sweeney to acquire Tursas gives him the “biggest tag team in the universe” with Tursas and Lee together. He said that Redwood was “dead wood” and that The Roughnecks (Lee and Redwood), who had a great run as the Campeonatos de Parejas, were finished.

5) Ultramantis Black vs. Vin Gerard was a Draw:
The popular Ultramantis Black, the head of the Order of the Neo Solar Temple, took on his rival Vin Gerard who was accompanied by The Dark Menace. The manager was in a very good mood as he returned to ringside with Gerard coming off his uniting Tursas and Brodie Lee as a powerful new tag team in CHIKARA. Gerard got the jump on Ultramantis during the ring introductions getting this one off to a wild start. He scored with the repeated running high knee and then trapped Ultramantis in the STF for a submission chance. He went back to the punishing hold several times over the course of the match but Ultramantis refused to tap out. Ultramantis mounted a nice offensive hitting a double knee backbreaker and the Cosmic Disaster. He then delivered the Praying Mantis Bomb but The Dark Menace go up on the ring apron distracting the referee to break up the pin. Ultramantis was furious as he battled Gerard tooth and nail the rest of the way. He hit the Praying Mantis Bomb for a second time but Tursas and Brodie Lee showed up. Lee distracted the referee while Tursas entered the ring and crushed Ultramantis. A short time later it was Lee nailing him with a big boot on the floor and Ultramantis barely made it back inside beating the twenty count. The two continued battling until the bell sounded ending the match in a time limit draw. The Dark Menace protested the decision but the referee ruled it a draw ending a tense battle between Ultramantis and Gerard.

6) Osirian Portal defeated The Batiri:
CHIKARA Director of Fun Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana made a huge announcement prior to this match between the Osirian Portal (Amasis & Ophidian) and The Batiri (Obariyon & Kodama). He said that the winning team would face The Colony (Fire Ant & Soldier Ant) for the Campeonatos de Parejas on the next CHKARA card at the West Park Party Center in Cleveland, OH (Card #839) drawing cheers from the crowd. That meant that the stakes were high for two teams who have yet to hold the gold under the LOW banner. This was a great match from start to finish with both teams firing on all cylinders despite few near falls. A great spot saw Obariyon counter a corner whip by Amasis with the turnbuckle springboard backcracker resulting in a two count. Ophidian later countered a deathjump by Obariyon and locked him in the Death Grip for a submission chance. Amasis hit a nice plancha onto Ophidian at one point and flung him back inside delivering a 450 Splash. Kodama was pretty effective during his time in delivering some of his key moves including the slingshot Frankensteiner and corner cannonball dropkick. The finish saw Amasis getting the upper hand on Obariyon and nailing him with the Egyptian Conniption, a crucifix flipped into a reverse STO, to score the pin. The Osirian Portal celebrated their huge win and upcoming title opportunity with a Dance Off to cheers from the crowd.

7) The Colony & Brutus Beefcake defeated F.I.S.T. & Gran Akuma:
Atomicos action saw The Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant, & Green Ant) join forces with Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake to battle F.I.S.T. (Icarus, Chuck Taylor, & Johnny Gargano) and Gran Akuma. The latter team was a reunion of the original F.I.S.T. members of Icarus, Taylor, and Akuma from the early days of CHIKARA. It was an all out war from the opening bell in this one with both teams coming close to victory. The foursome of F.I.S.T. and Akuma did a number on Beefcake at one point keeping him in for a sustained attack. That included Taylor hitting the Invisible Grenade Elbow Drop and Gargano and Akuma combining on the Assisted Ace Crusher. When The Colony took over it was a combined assault as well that included them hitting the Ant-apult and The Ant Hill, the latter of which resulted in a big near fall on Icarus. Soldier Ant also took a beating in this one but he rebounded hitting the TKO on Akuma for a big near fall. Fittingly it was Beefcake and Taylor who decided this one playing up their recent rivalry. Beefcake got the upper hand and hit a head to the buckle before flooring Taylor with a Clothesline to score the pin.

8) CHIKARA 12-Large Grand Championship: Eddie Kingston© defeated Jigsaw to retain the title:
The main event saw Jigsaw challenge the “War King” Eddie Kingston for the CHIKARA 12-Large Grand Championship in what was his version one defense of the title. Kingston was ready for action from the opening bell as he was able to keep Jigsaw on the defensive. Midway through the match it was Mike Quackenbush coming down to ringside to offer some advice to Jigsaw, his longtime tag partner. That seemed to help as Jigsaw bounced back and put Kingston on the defensive including scoring a series of near falls. Late in the match it was Kingston winning out in a Chop Battle before catching him with a devastating clothesline out of the corner. He then delivered the Backfist to the Future on a stunned Jigsaw to score a snake eyes pin and retain the title. The crowd jeered the victory by Kingston but then jeered as Quackenbush entered the ring and attacked Kingston from behind. Jigsaw tried to stop him but Quackenbush lifted Kingston up for a Quackendriver. Colt Cabana then hit the ring and went after Quackenbush. That prompted Jigsaw to help out Quackenbush by attacking the DOF! Kingston recovered and joined in helping out Cabana as a sea of CHIKARA officials ran in to break it up. After the dust settled an irate Cabana said that a new match will be taking place in Cleveland as he will team up with Kingston to go against Quackenbush and Jigsaw drawing a big pop from the crowd.

"CP Munk vs. Colt Cabunny - Nah, Just Kidding!" that's a funny theme name for your show. I really liked this event, the victories I liked the most were by the Throwbacks and Mister ZERO. Mister ZERO winning is huge and Quackenbush a soar loser is shocking. Too bad Jigsaw failed to beat Eddie Kingston...

Great stuff as always, crue! Mr. Zero reading the newspaper and Los Ice Creams "clicking on all sprinkles" were a couple of great moments in LoW history. Booking Cabana and Kingston together against Quack is thinking outside of the box... I like it!

Thanks for the comments Crimson and Daytondave. After Quack lost I figured he would be seething especially with the pro Punk and Cabana crowd already getting on him. Not sure if he is going full heel but Quack & Jigsaw vs. Kingston & Cabana should be fun. Sorry for a lack of updates or results but I have been both sick and lacking time to roll the dice. Ring of Honor - Music City Mayhem - Fairgrounds Arena - Nashville, TN (Card #830)

1) Mike Mondo defeated Silas Young by DQ:
A hard hitting opening match set the tone for what promised to be a night full of mayhem. “No Fear” Mike Mondo took on Silas Young, a man who is billed as “The Last Real Man in Professional Wrestling”. Young was in control most of the way and scored a near fall with the Pee Gee Waja Plunge. He also kicked out with authority after Mondo hit the flying elbowdrop. He trapped Mondo in the Stock Lock going for the submission but he got to the ropes for a break. Mondo wound up being busted open when Young repeatedly assaulted him with chair shots on the outside. Young was disqualified for his actions in what was a memorable ROH debut for the Milwaukee, WI, native. A bloody Mondo reluctantly adhered to the Code of Honor post-match ending a painful but victorious night for him.

2) Cedric Alexander defeated Nigel McGuinness:
A great bout saw Cedric Alexander, one-half of C & C Wrestle Factory along with Caprice Coleman, take on the recently returning Nigel McGuinness. Alexander has been trying to find his way in singles competition in ROH and he had a tough task here in battling the veteran McGuinness. Early action saw Alexander using his speed to control hitting the rolling wheel kick, springboard clothesline, and the Overtime. McGuinness struck back with the short-arm lariat and trapped Alexander in the very painful London Dungeon going for the submission. Alexander kicked it into high gear building to the finish stunning McGuinness with the superkick before coming off the top rope with a Flying Bodypress to score the pin. It was a huge win for Alexander who adhered to the Code of Honor with McGuinness post-match.

3) Jay Lethal defeated Austin Aries:
In what could have been a main event on most ROH shows it was Elizabeth, NJ, native Jay Lethal going against “A Double” Austin Aries. Both men are looking to move into title contention and knew that a win here would be a big step towards accomplishing that. Lethal showed a new aggressive side surprising Aries with a smash into the ring post and further attacks on the floor. He also locked on the Koji Clutch going for the submission but Aries got to the ropes for a break. Aries bounced back and scored a big near fall with a moonsault (ch) but then missed with the 450 Splash. Lethal struck with Hail to the King, a flying elbowdrop, for a big near fall but was then laid out with a running corner dropkick. Aries followed up going for a dive off of the top rope but Lethal rolled out of the way and executed a Cradle Hold to score the pin. Both men adhered to the Code of Honor post-match drawing cheers from the crowd.

4) Bad Influence defeated Kings of Wrestling:
Another marquee match saw Bad Influence (“Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels & Kazarian) take on the Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli). The KOW were also accompanied by Tyler Black, the reigning Young Lions Cup champion in CHIKARA who proudly held up the trophy taunting ringsiders. The presence of Black served no help to KOW, though, as they came out on the losing end. The action was tremendous most of the way with both teams scoring several near falls. It came to a tumultuous finish with Daniels and Hero going toe-to-toe in a great exchange. Hero nailed Daniels with the Cravate Buster but Daniels recovered and struck back with a Death Valley Driver. Moments later the “Fallen Angel” caught Hero with the Angel’s Wings and covered him for the pin as Kazarian prevented Castagnoli from making the save. It was the biggest victory to date for Bad Influence in ROH and left Hero, Castagnoli, and Black in a fit of rage particularly since they are near the top of the contenders list for a shot at the ROH tag team titles.

5) Steve Corino defeated Caprice Coleman by TKO:
A heated grudge match saw the other half of C & C Wrestle Factory, Caprice Coleman, take on the “King of Old School” Steve Corino. Coleman and his tag partner Cedric Alexander injured Corino last year prompting the S.C.U.M. member to seek revenge against them. There was no adherence to the Code of Honor as the two began brawling at the bell. Coleman looked great early taking whatever Corino could dish out and hitting him with high impact moves like the running high knee in the corner. Corino fought back scoring with the Old School Kick and Old School Suplex for near falls. He also used a foreign object, which appeared to be a piece of steel wrapped in tape, to bludgeon Coleman busting him open. Coleman weathered the storm and kept battling back even kicking out after being hit with the Old School Lariat. A defensive clothesline out of the corner by Corino led to another Old School Lariat but Coleman again kicked out of the pin. He was, however, unable to get up after that and the referee called for the bell awarding Corino the victory via TKO, or referee stoppage. Corino surprisingly helped up the bloody Coleman post-match and shook his hand adhering to the Code of Honor. It was a great show of respect by Corino perhaps putting the past grudge to bed.

6) ROH tag team titles: Kevin Steen & Jimmy Jacobs© defeated American Wolves to retain the titles:
The popular American Wolves (Davey Richards & “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards) took on S.C.U.M. members Kevin Steen & “Zombie Princess” Jimmy Jacobs for the ROH tag team titles in a highly anticipated match. The past rivalry between Richards and Steen over the ROH Heavyweight title has been well documented and served as a nice backdrop for this battle for the tag team championship. The defending champions dominated the early action which included Jacobs delivering a series of violent stops and a diving senton scoring a two count on Edwards. The Wolves turned it around and Richards caught Jacobs with both the Alarm Clock and kicked to death. Jacobs fought back and used both the controversial Railroad Spike and The End of Time but was unable to put Richards away. It was a tumultuous battle between the two teams which ended when Steen saved Jacobs from the Ankle Lock by Richards. Shortly after it was Steen getting the tag and after a 450 Splash he trapped Richards in the Sharpshooter and cinched it on scoring a submission victory thanks to Jacobs cutting off a save by Edwards. It was a successful version two defense of the titles for the members of S.C.U.M.

7) ROH Heavyweight title – Three Way Elimination Match: Michael Elgin defeated AJ Styles and Adam Cole to win the title:
The semi-final slot went to the ROH Heavyweight title match as AJ Styles put the gold on the line against two challengers in the form of former champion Adam Cole and the “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin. This match was conducted under elimination rules meaning that the last man standing would be the champion. What an amazing match that had the crowd on the edge of their seats. The action was fast and furious throughout with multiple pin and submission attempts broken up by the three men. At one point Cole took out both with the superkick for consecutive two counts. Elgin broke up a Pele Kick pin attempt by Styles on Cole and then planted Styles with the Elgin Bomb for a big near fall. Cole hit the Florida Key on Styles but Elgin broke that up as well and trapped Cole in the crossface submission. Styles was the first man to be eliminated when, after scoring a big near fall on Cole with the Styles Clash, he was blindsided by Elgin and he hit a second Elgin Bomb to score the pin. The elimination of Styles meant that a new champion would be crowned on this night. Cole and Elgin had a great battle with the crowd split in their support of each man. It turned out to be an epic performance by Elgin who capped it off with a cravate with the knees followed up by a Buckle Bomb to score the pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as Elgin captured the championship for the first time and afterward they gave all three men a standing ovation for their efforts. Styles and Cole showed great class by congratulating Elgin and raising his arms in victory as the referee strapped the title belt around his waist.

8) Steel Cage Match – Losing Team Leaves ROH: Roderick Strong. Delirious, Rhino, & Matt Taven defeated Homicide, Necro Butcher, Jay Briscoe, & Mark Briscoe:
The main event was an Eight-Man Steel Cage Match with huge implications as the losing side would be forced to leave Ring of Honor en masse. ROH promoter Cary Silkin arranged the match due to having trouble with all eight participants along with manager Truth Martini. He suspended Mark Briscoe for assaulting a referee and injuring Shelton Benjamin last year and had heated words with Jay Briscoe over that situation. Mark was reinstated just for this match. Homicide and Necro Butcher have been uncontrollable adversaries who were now forced to be on the same side fighting for their jobs along with the Briscoe Brothers. The House of Truth (Roderick Strong, Delirious, Rhino, & Matt Taven) along with Martini have been a persistent thorn in the side of Silkin and after he had words with them about them not being booked at Death Before Dishonor (Card #820) he tricked Martini into signing an open contract for this match.

With all that was at stake in this one it was no surprise that it was a brutal war from bell to bell. Necro Butcher, Jay Briscoe, Rhino, and Roderick Strong were all busted open during the match. Truth Martini and his Hoopla Hotties were in panic mode at ringside especially in the early going as the Homicide-led team dominated most of the action. With escape the cage rules null and void for this one there was nowhere for the House of Truth members to go. Homicide bludgeoned Strong with a fork attack and Necro took great pleasure repeatedly running his opponents into the cage wall. The crowd exploded when Mark Briscoe finally got in and delivered a beating to the arrogant Taven. Necro almost won it for his team when he caught Strong with the Necro Bomb for a big near fall. Rhino turned things around with some help from Delirious and blasted Necro with the Gore! for a big near fall. That set off a wild eight-way brawl that seemed to help out the House of Truth. Delirious picked up a near fall on Jay with Shadows over Hell and Taven nearly pinned Mark after delivering the Arm Trap Headlock Driver. The wild battle concluded when Strong, both bloody and exhausted, survived an offensive by Jay and hit the Death by Roderick, a fireman’s carry double-knee gutbuster, to score the pin. The crowed jeered the decision as it meant that Homicide, Necro, and Mark & Jay Briscoe will have to leave ROH. The repulsive Martini, meanwhile, celebrated the victory at ringside having the Hoopla Hotties participate in a “Pants Off, Dance Off” while his men recovered from the devastating battle. ROH promoter Cary Silkin looked on in disgust and then grabbed the mic saying that all eight men deserve praise for their efforts in the match and that the losing four would be welcomed back in due time.

I did like that Young blasted Mondo with the chair, but then it's a shame Silas lost the match. I wanted Aries to win, but it looks like Jay Lethal and Austin Aries put on a killer match. I'm glad the Roderick Strong team won and do not need to leave ROH and having that kind of match in the Cage is fitting, solid action Crue...
