MsChif vs. Sherri will be out of this world! Nevaeh and Stephie will lay waste to Evie & Cherry Bomb when the gloves come off. The next SHIMMER card is going to be nasty!

Thanks for the comments Crimson and Daytondave. Sometimes the SHIMMER action is the most heated in my fed. Next up is some CHIKARA action, hope you enjoy it..
CHIKARA - 1,000 Masks vs. ZERO - Legion Stadium - El Monte, CA (Card #849)
1) Mr. Touchdown defeated Shane Hollister: It was a disappointing CHIKARA debut for Davenport, IA, native Shane Hollister as he was dominated by Mr. Touchdown (Mark Angelosetti) in the opener. The early action saw Mr. Touchdown score a two count with a pump splash before battering Hollister on the outside. The most aggressive member of The Throwbacks then hit the Extra Point, a spinning spinebuster, on Hollister and pulled him up at the count of two before hitting the move a second time to score the pin.
2) F.I.S.T. & Gran Akuma defeated Hallowicked, Frightmare, Brutus Beefcake, & Shane Storm: Atomicos action featured Incoherence (Hallowicked & Young Lions Cup champion Frightmare), Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, and Shane Storm taking on the rudos foursome of F.I.S.T. (Icarus, Chuck Taylor, & Johnny Gargano) and Gran Akuma. It should be noted that Akuma was an original member of F.I.S.T. back in the early days of CHIKARA and has recently renewed his affiliation with the group. This was a great bout from start to finish with both teams looking good. Frightmare starred for his team hitting such spectacular moves as the Frightensteiner and crucifix bomb. Late in the bout it was Akuma nearly pinning Frightmare with a counter sunset flip off of the ropes. That set up Icarus nailing Frightmare with the Blu-Ray but Hallowicked made the save. The finish saw Taylor avoid a knee drop by Beefcake before nailing him with Sole Food to score the pin.
3) Olde Wrestling Offer Match: Matthew Cross & Big Sue Jackson defeated Jeff King & Marion Fontaine: The CHIKARA fans were treated to tag team action featuring four stars of Olde Wrestling as “Old Timer” Jeff King & “Handlebar Haberdasher” Marion Fontaine took on Matthew Cross & Big Sue Jackson. Both sides looked great in this one which nearly went to a time limit draw. Jackson used all 366-pounds of his big frame to hurt both opponents including scoring near falls with the hip attack and the Close Shave, a forward falling spinebuster. King and Fontaine showed great resilience and nearly pulled off the victory when King had Jackson trapped in the Bearhug. Fontaine also scored a big near fall on Jackson with a bulldog late in the bout. Cross used his well documented power to turn things around late and hit the press slam on Fontaine for a near fall. With time winding down Jackson nailed King with a Samoan Drop and made the tag to Cross who locked on the Bow and Arrow. Fontaine was unable to make the save and King conceded the match giving Cross and Jackson the victory via submission. The crowd gave all four men a standing ovation and “please come back” chants afterward.
4) The Colony defeated Jigsaw & Osirian Portal: The first of back-to-back trios matches saw The Colony (Fire Ant, Soldier Ant, & Green Ant) take on Jigsaw and the new Campeonatos de Parejas the Osirian Portal (Amasis & Ophidian). The Portal were coming off their huge championship win over The Colony in Cleveland, OH (Card #839) and looking to keep that momentum as they paired up with Jigsaw. It was all Jigsaw and the Portal early as they got the heat on Fire Ant for an extended stretch. Fire Ant finally bounced back and made the tag to Soldier Ant who promptly hit the TKO on Ophidian for a big near fall. The Portal turned it around and executed the Osirian Sacrament on Green Ant but Fire Ant made the save. Jigsaw would also pick up a big near fall for his time when he nailed Soldier Ant with a brainbuster. The Colony used their vast trios experience to gain control including doing the tandem diving stomps and the Colony Dropkicks. Green Ant also attacked all three of the opponents with leg holds and used the single leg grapevine on Amasis for a submission chance. The crowd was in a frenzy by the finish which saw The Colony execute The Ant Hill which saw Soldier and Green holding Amasis as Fire Ant performed a splash off of their shoulders to score the pin.
5) Ultramantis Black, Crossbones, & Hydra defeated Vin Gerard, Tursas, & Brodie Lee: The Order of the Neo Solar Temple (Ultramantis Black, Crossbones, & Hydra) faced The Dark Menace-led forces of Vin Gerard, Tursas, & Brodie Lee in grudge trios action. The Dark Menace and Gerard have been on a quest to eliminate Ultramantis Black from CHIKARA and thus far Gerard has been able to get the better of the man billed from the Black Tea Garden. This time around it would be different as Ultramantis and the Order picked up a huge victory. A great spot saw Crossbones going for a deathjump but Gerard caught him up top with a superplex followed by a shooting star press for a near fall. Tursas and Lee used their big size advantage to punish the opposition, most notably Hydra who was nailed with a Black Hole Slam by Lee for another near fall. Late in the bout it was Ultramantis getting an assist from his partners for a Praying Mantis Bomb on the 375-pound Tursas but as he went for the pin it was broken up by a cane wielding Dark Menace. The finish of a wild bout came in an unlikely manner as Crossbones nailed Tursas with a flying clothesline outside and tossed him back in where the diminutive but “powerful” Hydra caught him in a Prawn Hold to score the pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as Hydra got one over on the massive Tursas securing the victory for the Order.
6) Mister ZERO defeated Mil Mascaras by DQ: The highly anticipated match between record seven-time LOW World Heavyweight champion Mil Mascaras, the “Man of 1,000 Masks”, and Mister ZERO ended up in controversy. Mascaras controlled the early action frustrating ZERO with such moves as the slingshot plancha, rolling headscissors and hip lock takeover. He went up to the top rope but ZERO recovered and picked him off with a bodyslam. That was the turning point in the match as ZERO went on a brilliant offensive hitting both the Last Shaven Unicorn Drop and German Suplex for big near falls. ZERO looked to be pulling off a huge upset win as he went for a second Last Shaven Unicorn Drop but suddenly Dragon Dragon hit the ring. He caught ZERO with a tail whip that led to an automatic disqualification being called by the referee. It was a huge win for ZERO even on a technical decision but CHIKARA Director of Fun Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana was hardly pleased. He said that Mascaras had signed for a two-match deal with CHIKARA and that he was going to exercise that option on the next card in Easton, PA (Card #859) where it will be Mascaras and Dragon Dragon teaming up against ZERO and a mystery partner.
7) LOW Tex-Arkana Television title: Hacksaw Jim Duggan© defeated Larry Sweeney to retain the title: Just days removed from his title win over Timber (Card #846 in Kansas City, KS), Hacksaw Jim Duggan had his first title defense against the man who introduced the LOW Tex-Arkana Television title in one “Sweet n’ Sour” Larry Sweeney. The eighteen-time champion was looking to regain the title which he last held nearly five years ago but he was going to have to go through the double tough Duggan to get it. Duggan scored early with the spinning bodyslam and Old Glory kneedrop picking up a near fall. Sweeney struck back nailing Duggan with a piledriver for a two count. He followed up with his trademark 12 Large Elbow Drop and went for the pin but again Duggan kicked out. The crowd cheered the resiliency of Hacksaw and he fed on that staging a nice comeback. After getting the better of Sweeney on the outside he leveled him with another Spinning Bodyslam and covered him for the pin. The crowd cheered the victory by Duggan who was successful in his version one defense of the championship.
8) 12-Large Grand Championship: Mike Quackenbush defeated Eddie Kingston to win the title: The main event saw the “War King” Eddie Kingston attempt to make his version two defense of the championship against “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush, the founder of CHIKARA. DOF Colt Cabana and Senior Referee Bryce Remsburg were on hand for the introductions by Gavin Loudspeaker for the all important match. Cabana wished both men luck before handing the title belt to Remsburg. Quackenbush stepped in and had some words with Cabana continuing a rivalry that has been brewing for several months between the two. Kingston, meanwhile, stared intently at Quackenbush focused on the task at hand which was to leave El Monte as champion. Early action saw Kingston with a nice offensive and he scored a two count after connecting with a lariat. Quackenbush struck back with Chain Lightning and then caught him with the Quackendriver III but somehow Kingston kicked out with authority. Kingston then took over and hit both the Sliding D and Backfist to the Future for big near falls. He had Quackenbush in serious trouble until a corner whip saw Quack rebound with a running lariat. Quackenbush then hit three stages of the Quackendriver with number three, number two and number one in succession. A bloody Kingston was laid out on the mat following the third Quackendriver and Quackenbush made the cover scoring the pin and capturing the championship. There was a mixed reaction from the crowd as Remsburg handed the title belt to Quackenbush who won the belt for the first time. Cabana attempted to congratulate Quackenbush on his championship win but the CHIKARA founder turned his back on the DOF and left the ring holding up the title belt. Kingston, meanwhile, was cheered by the crowd as he refused help getting up and got back to his feet under his own power.

No matter what the situation, Quack vs. Kingston is always epic. I was sad to see Sweeney come up short.

That Quack vs. Kingston match was probably even better than it reads. That was a reall fun one to roll out. The LOW Tex-Arkana Television title is Sweeney's creation and I too was hoping to see him regain it but Duggan was able to fend him off. Thanks for the comments Daytondave. I will try to have the next show, which is a Kings Road United invasion of Ring of Honor, posted soon.

I loved the Olde offering bout and seeing Cross & Sue win was good to see. Mr.Touchdown winning is another good one, plus seeing Mister ZERO win his match versus Mil was cool even by way of a disqualification...

Thanks for the comments Daytondave and Crimson, next up is ROH action also featuring the stars of Kings Road United...
Ring of Honor - KRU Invasion - PAL Building - Danbury, CT (Card #850)
1) Matt Sydal, Cedric Alexander, & Caprice Coleman vs. Nigel McGuinness, Rhett Titus, & Mike Mondo was a Draw: A highly competitive six-man tag team opener saw ROH newcomer Matt Sydal join forces with C & C Wrestle Factory (Cedric Alexander & Caprice Coleman) to take on Nigel McGuinness, Rhett Titus, & Mike Mondo. Early action saw both sides with some nice offense before McGuinness took over on Coleman. That led to him and his partners getting the heat on Coleman for an extended stretch which included Titus hitting the Muff Driver for a big near fall. Coleman made a comeback and was joined by Alexander in hitting the C & C Connection Combo, a tandem Frankensteiner and top rope splash, on Mondo but McGuinness made the save. A great spot saw Alexander miss with a dive off of the top and McGuinness struck with a short-arm lariat for a big near fall. With time running out it was Alexander again coming off of the top rope with a flying bodypress on Titus but he kicked out just before the three count. Moments later the bell sounded ending the match in a time limit draw.
2) Forever Hooligans defeated reDRagon: Two exciting young teams squared off next as the Forever Hooligans (Alex Koslov & Rocky Romero) took on reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly). It was all Hooligans early as they isolated Fish preventing him from making a tag. They used both the assisted corner splash and double knee battering ram on Fish before scoring a near fall with Contract Killer. Fish battled back and using Sleeps With The Fishes and made the tag with O’Reilly helping to turn things around. He caught Koslov with the knee strike and Regal Plex setting up a tag to Fish who hit the super falcon arrow for a near fall. The action continued from there at a furious pace with both teams going on nice stretches of offense. In the end it was the Hooligans coming away with the victory when Romero trapped Fish in the Diablo Armbar resulting in a submission victory as Koslov fended off a save attempt by O’Reilly.
3) Masked Superstar (KRU) defeated Austin Aries: The first of four scheduled matches between ROH and Kings Road United saw “A Double” Austin Aries do battle with the Masked Superstar. The masked man was the early aggressor as he pounded away on Aries including delivering the headbutt and Superstar Clothesline. He also locked on a sleeper hold but Aries made a quick escape and struck with the running corner dropkick and Crucifix Bomb. Things were looking good for Aries until the Superstar caught him with another clothesline and locked on the Cobra Hold resulting in a submission victory. The post-match was tense until both men adhered to the Code of Honor by shaking hands. The win by the Masked Superstar put KRU up by a score of 1-0 against ROH.
4) American Wolves defeated The Mongols (KRU): The American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) of ROH faced The Mongols (Bepo & Geeto) of KRU in a heated tag team match. The Mongols outweighed the Wolves by close to two-hundred pounds but Richards and Edwards showed no fear going against them. In fact they dominated the early action which saw Richards stun Bepo with the Alarm Clock and kicked to death. That set up Edwards hitting a belly-to-back sitout facebuster on Bepo for a near fall. The Mongols struck back after the referee went down as Bepo hit a second rope shoulder tackle on Richards. The two dominated the action while the official was down including Geeto hitting his trademark Top Rope Knee Drop. Richards looked to be in serious trouble but managed to tag Edwards who scored a big near fall on Bepo with a counter sunset flip off of the ropes. The finish saw Richards rally back against Geeto and trap him in the Ankle Lock resulting in a submission victory. It was a very impressive win for the American Wolves which helped ROH even the score against KRU at 1-1.
5) Jay Lethal, Tommaso Ciampa, Silas Young, & Tim Donst defeated Roderick Strong, Delirious, Rhino, & Matt Taven by DQ: A grudge eight-man tag team match saw Jay Lethal, Tommaso Ciampa, Silas Young, & Tim Donst take on the House of Truth foursome of Roderick Strong, Delirious, Rhino, and Matt Taven who were accompanied by manager Truth Martini. The House of Truth have been on a roll of late and have also drawn the ire of most of the ROH roster especially Lethal. The Elizabeth, NJ, native has had some intense battles with Strong and other members of the House of Truth during his time in ROH and he was hoping to lead Ciampa, Young, and Donst to a big win. The exchanges between Lethal and Strong in this match were pretty intense but it would come down to Ciampa and Delirious to decide the winning team. Delirious, clad in his “Red Poison” attire, seemed bent on destruction in this bout. It was that fact that led to his team being disqualified when he blasted Ciampa with the controversial Red Poison mist. The crowd jeered the actions of Delirious and a post-match beat down which saw the House of Truth with a numbers advantage until the blinded Ciampa recovered and cleared the ring with a chair.
6) El Generico defeated Tiger Mask (KRU) by Count Out: With the series tied at 1-1 it was six-time LOW Junior Heavyweight champion Tiger Mask taking on his masked counterpart El Generico representing ROH. The crowd serenaded the popular Generico with chants of “Ole, Ole, Ole!” as he headed to the ring for the all important match. Early action was dominated by Tiger Mask as he hit such moves as the Tombstone Piledriver, twisting moonsault and jumping spin kick. Generico struck with a counter running lariat out of the corner and then scored a big near fall with the Spike Brainbuster. A corkscrew moonsault was followed by another Spike Brainbuster from Generico resulting in a two count. Tiger mounted a nice comeback and caught Generico with a back suplex but then missed a corner charge. That resulted in a nice counter roll-up by Generico for another big near fall. It was turning into a classic bout but unfortunately controversy would ruin things. After Generico hit a suicide dive to the outside he rolled back in where the referee went to check on his condition. “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis then ran down to ringside and, as the beautiful Maria jumped up on the ring apron to further distract the referee, it was Bennett laying out Tiger Mask with the Box Office Smash on the floor. That action led to Tiger Mask being counted out as Generico argued with Bennett who retreated down the aisle with Maria. Generico helped up Tiger Mask post-match and went to adhere to the Code of Honor but Tiger refused and left the ring to jeers from the crowd. Generico looked on in disbelief as the actions of Bennett disgraced him while also putting ROH up by a score of 2-1.
Local reporters caught up with Mike Bennett and Maria as they were leaving the arena and Bennett had a lot to say. He called Generico a “loser” and said that he only interfered to make sure that ROH would get the advantage in the series over KRU. He added that he should have been the one to face Tiger Mask but he wasn’t even booked on the card while a “loser” like Generico, who he defeated on the last ROH card, was awarded the spotlight instead. Generico later spoke with ROH officials and demanded a match with Bennett on the next ROH card in Rahway, NJ (Card #860) which was subsequently granted by promoter Cary Silkin.
7) Fight Without Honor: Christopher Daniels defeated Chris Hero: The always dreaded Fight Without Honor saw the “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels take on “That Young Knockout Kid” Chris Hero coming off two straight tag team matches where Daniels got the better of Hero. The bitter battles between Daniels and Kazarian, the tag team known as Bad Influence, and Hero and Claudio Castagnoli, two-thirds of the Kings of Wrestling along with Tyler Black, have been a highlight of recent ROH Shows. This match was no different as the two men fought tooth and nail from the opening bell trading blows in and out of the ring. The pivotal moment came late in the match when Daniels shrugged off a chop to the chest and struck back with a wicked Death Valley Driver. A shaken up Hero bailed out of the ring where Daniels followed and pulled a ladder out from under the ring which he propped up from the ring apron to the guard rail. As Hero attempted to get back to his feet he was caught by Daniels with a suplex onto the ladder! The move really shook up Hero as he clutched his back in pain. The ladder was almost broken in half showing the impact of the move delivered by Daniels. With the crowd going crazy it was Daniels tossing Hero back inside where he nailed him with the Angel’s Wings and scored the pin. For the third consecutive time it was Daniels getting the better of Hero but it was still not enough for the “Fallen Angel”. He set up a chair near the corner post-match and went for the Angel’s Wings on it as Castagnoli ran down to ringside pleading with him not to do the move. Daniels thought about for a second but then executed the Angel’s Wings spiking Hero on the chair. Castagnoli ran in as Daniels bailed out but the damage was done. Hero was diagnosed with a concussion and will miss several weeks of action as a result.
8) Rikidozan, Giant Baba, & Antonio Inoki (KRU) defeated Michael Elgin, AJ Styles, & Adam Cole: With ROH up by a score of 2-1 it was time for a spectacular six-man tag team main event as ROH Heavyweight champion “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin joined forces with former champions AJ styles and Adam Cole to take on the Kings Road United team of Rikidozan, Shohei “Giant” Baba, and Antonio Inoki. The pairing of Elgin with Styles and Cole, the two men Elgin defeated to win the belt in a three-way elimination match in Nashville, TN (Card #830), was interesting to say the least. All of them would have to unite for a common cause if they were going to defeat the equally all-star combination being presented by KRU. An appreciative crowd showered the ring with colorful streamers during the ring introductions honoring a longstanding tradition in Japan.
The early battle between Elgin and Rikidozan had the crowd on the edge of their seats as the two men traded stiff blows back and forth. Rikidozan scored with a counter cradle hold off of the ropes for a two count and then trapped Elgin in a Boston Crab. Elgin came back with a vicious Black Hole Slam laying out the founder of KRU. Baba turned things back in favor of his team as he used a bearhug to neutralize the aerial attack of Styles. A subsequent tag to Inoki saw him lay out a prone Styles with a top rope kneedrop. Both Styles and Cole had their moments in this match but as it wore on the KRU team began to dominate. The finishing sequence saw Rikidozan nail Styles with a forearm hammer before making the tag to Baba. A short time later Baba came off of the ropes hitting his trademark Jumping Neckbreaker Drop on Styles to score the pin as Rikidozan and Inoki prevented Elgin and Cole from making the save. The victory by Rikidozan, Baba and Inoki meant that the series between the two organizations ended in a 2-2 tie. All six men shook hands after the match to cheers from the crowd ending a memorable joint show between ROH and KRU.

Incredible head-to-head action between ROH and KRU... Disappointed that Double-A lost to Masked Superstar, but the show was OFF THE CHAIN! Truly entertaining!
Daniels vs. Hero was my favorite match... Interested to see how Claudio retaliates against the Fallen Angel for injuring his tag partner...
The main event was nothing short of epic! Watching Elgin, Styles and Cole team up to trade blows with the trio of Rikidozan, Baba and Inoki was riveting...
Always enjoy it when your league offers up some ROH action... Perfection!

I really liked that the Masked Superstar won over Austin Aries and the split between KRU vs. ROH was cool stuff, but it would've been neat to have seen KRU win the showdown...

Thanks for the comments Pariah, Crimson, and Bookerbill. It was a lot of fun doing an ROH-KRU show similar to how ROH and New Japan work together. I decided on a four match format instead of five so that a tie would be possible and it surprised me when it went that way. Next up is an edition of LOW All-Star Wrestling with a major announcement that involves the future of both ROH and CHIKARA in my fed...
LOW All-Star Wrestling (Episode 44) - WMC-TV5 Studios - Memphis, TN (Card #851)
Announcers Lance Russell and Dave Brown opened the broadcast going over some of the recent major news events in LOW. They noted that Steve “Dr. Death” Williams & Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy have left the GWA to sign contracts with Kings Road United in Japan and that the Midnight Rockers (Stan Lane & Marty Jannetty) will receive their first shot at the LOW World tag team titles against Sabu & Rob Van Dam on the upcoming AWE card in St. Louis, MO (Card #854). That led into two video packages the first of which saw Hacksaw Jim Duggan winning the LOW Tex-Arkana Television title from Timber (Card #846 in Kansas City, KS) and the second showed the recent wild battles between MsChif and SHIMMER champion Sherri Martel. Russell noted that Martel will defend the title against MsChif on the next card in Berwyn, IL (Card #858) in a Falls Count Anywhere Match with the added stipulation that if MsChif loses she will have to leave SHIMMER.
The studio audience cheered on as Russell made his way to ringside and introduced LOW Commissioner Charlie Cox who was on hand to make a major announcement regarding both CHIKARA and Ring of Honor. Cox said that he had been negotiating with both promotions, along with several independent groups, and a decision was made by the Board of Directors to bring all of the independent promotions together under one banner in LOW. It was therefore revealed that effective at the end of the year there will be a new territory in LOW utilizing the independent talent and that it will be called the IWA – Independent Wrestling Association. Russell asked what would become of ROH and CHIKARA and Cox answered that both groups would be unified under the IWA banner. He then threw it to a video to explain the changes that will be made to introduce the IWA into LOW:
●CHIKARA and Ring of Honor will continue to hold shows leading up to events at the Palmer Center in Easton, PA (Card #889), subtitled Final Battle BLUE, and the Du Burns Arena in Baltimore, MD (Card #890), subtitled Final Battle RED. The winners of the matches on both shows will receive guaranteed contracts with the IWA while the losers will go into the free agent talent pool which will be evaluated by the IWA in order to create an inaugural roster for the promotion.
●The reigning singles and tag team champions of each promotion after Final Battle BLUE and Final Battle RED conclude will meet in matches during WrestleCade IX weekend on the debut card for the IWA (Card #899), subtitled Genesis, in order to determine the first IWA Heavyweight and tag team champions.
●The IWA will continue the CHIKARA tradition of holding a King of Trios tournament (Cards# 908-910) and will also feature a major mid-year event called the IWA Supercard of Honor. The inaugural IWA Supercard of Honor has already been booked for Soldier Field in Chicago, IL (Card #949). In addition the IWA will continue the traditions recognized by both promotions adopting the Code of Honor and Lucha Libre tag team rules. Specialty matches like Fight Without Honor will also be recognized by the IWA.
●The Board of Directors of LOW will overlook the day-to-day operations of the IWA and ROH promoter Cary Silkin, CHIKARA Senior Referee Bryce Remsburg and Evolve promoter Gabe Sapolsky will serve on a three-man committee to determine fines and suspensions. Remsburg will also be the Senior Referee of the IWA while Gavin Loudspeaker will be featured as the ring announcer.
●The IWA will be looking at an expansive free agent talent pool to develop the inaugural roster including stars linked to CHIKARA, Ring of Honor, and Evolve. In addition two major names currently appearing in LOW territories have signed on to be a part of the IWA and those names will be revealed exclusively on the next edition of LOW All-Star Wrestling.
LR: “By golly that is some amazing news Commissioner Cox. Things just got a whole lot more interesting in LOW and with that I’ll send it on over to Dave.”
DB: “Thanks, Lance. We have plenty of action today as the free spirited Jon Moxley will make his television debut, the maniacal Kevin Sullivan of the SWA is on hand and we have tag team action featuring the Blue World Order (Stevie Richards & Blue Meanie). In addition we have a big Inter-Promotional grudge match pitting former LOW Junior Heavyweight champions the “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson (PCW) and Paul London (GWA) against each other, a pre-recorded interview with the “Eighth Wonder of the World” Andre the Giant, a dual interview of SWA counterparts J.J. Dillon and “Elegant” Eddie Fyne, and to kick things off a most unique event as PCW star Dutch Savage brings his specialty, the Coal Miner’s Glove Match, to ASW. Now I’ll throw it over to ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta with the introductions for our opening match.”
1) Coal Miner’s Glove Match: Dutch Savage defeated The Executioner: The first ever Coal Miner’s Glove Match in LOW saw the undefeated master of the match, Dutch Savage of PCW, take on The Executioner. The powerful masked man out of Paris, France, stepped up and accepted the open challenge of Savage on the last episode of ASW. With the heavy duty work glove resting on top of the pole the two men fought tooth and nail to get it. Savage at one point tripped the legs of the Executioner as he tried to climb the pole crotching him on the top rope. Savage later hit the devastating Running Piledriver and went to climb the pole. The Executioner somehow recovered and caught him up top and the two fought over the glove which flew into the studio audience! An alert young fan grabbed it and tossed it to Savage giving him a huge advantage. The Executioner fought back hitting the Hangman’s Clothesline and using an illegal foreign object but he was unable to put Savage away. Savage stunned The Executioner with a thumb to the throat and battered him with Brawling Punches and Kicks catching him with the steel laced glove to score the pin. The crowd cheered the victory by Savage who stopped by the announce table and gave The Executioner credit for a fight but said that no one will ever defeat him in a Coal Miner’s Glove Match.
2) Kevin Sullivan defeated Ricky Landell: The popular Ricky Landell out of St. Paul, MN, nearly pulled off a huge upset as he took on SWA star Kevin Sullivan. Landell fired heavy artillery early hitting both the Fisherman’s Buster and Top Rope Fist Drop for big near falls. Sullivan, whose manager Sir Oliver Humperdink was not at ringside, made a desperation comeback hitting a running forearm for a two count. He then nailed Landell with the Double Foot Stomp to score the pin snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.
Interview – Andre the Giant: PWI Editor Bill Apter conducted this pre-recorded interview with Andre the Giant at his 200-acre ranch in Ellerbe, NC, where he has been resting up leg and shoulder injuries inflicted on him by The Warlord and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine. The undefeated “Eighth Wonder of the World”, who stands 7’4” and weighs 475-pounds, was injured by the two men on an NWC card at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY (Card #835). After reviewing the footage an angry Andre interrupted Apter and said that he will never forget what was done to him and he will be back full force to take his revenge. He said that the doctors have cleared him to return to the ring and thanks to LOW Commissioner Charlie Cox he has a one-on-one match with Valentine on the next card at MSG (Card #852). Apter said that Valentine had better come up with a good game plan but with his credentials he also has a chance to make history if he can be the first to defeat Andre in LOW. Andre angrily responded to that by grabbing Apter by the tie and lifting him a few inches off his chair saying that no one will ever defeat him and that Valentine, The Warlord and anyone else associated with Captain Lou Albano will pay a price. He thanked Bobo Brazil and “Mr. USA” Tony Atlas for coming to his defense against Albano and his men but now he will take over. He released Apter from his grip and then apologized to the frightened reporter saying that no one has ever gotten away with injuring him and he will make sure that it never happens again. He offered Apter some wine and he wisely accepted saying that Andre will be back in the ring and better than ever at MSG. Andre let out a hearty laugh and told Apter that he learns quickly and said that he will be sending him home with a case of French wine as a gift for his troubles. Apter concluded the segment by showing viewers an exclusive tour of Andre’s property which he said was specially built for the giant.
3) Blue World Order defeated Lanny Poffo & Savage-T by DQ: Dave Brown told Lance Russell to prepare for anything as the Blue World Order (Stevie Richards & Blue Meanie) returned to ASW to take on “The Genius” Lanny Poffo & Savage-T who were accompanied by valet KJ Hill. Russell said that the bWo serving as his co-hosts a few weeks back took years off of his life. The two teams engaged in a highly competitive match highlighted by Savage-T going for a failed Vertibreaker on the 302-pound Meanie. The Meanie was on fire during his time in and things were looking good for the bWo but Poffo, sensing a defeat, nailed Richards with his Metal Scroll resulting in the disqualification decision. The bWo got the victory and they celebrated by going to the announce table where Richards gave Russell the t-shirt off of Meanie’s back! With The Meanie dancing a disgusted Russell used the timekeeper’s hammer to toss the shirt aside drawing laughter from Brown and the studio audience.
4) Inter-Promotional Match: Bryan Danielson defeated Paul London: An anticipated inter-promotional match saw the “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson of PCW take on GWA star Paul London coming off some of their heated battles over the LOW Junior Heavyweight title. The belt has since been won by Danny Hodge who defeated Danielson for it in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Card #843), a match which London claimed took place due to Danielson ducking him for a title rematch. London has taken up a new aggressive attitude of late causing some of the fans in the GWA to withdraw their support of the previously popular star. Danielson was dominant early in this one which frustrated London greatly. London finally struck back and hit the 450 Splash but Danielson kicked out at two to a big pop from the studio audience. London quickly followed with an Oklahoma side roll but Danielson again kicked out at two. The match picked up in intensity building to the finish which saw Danielson nail London with a missile dropkick followed by the Roundhouse Kicks to score the pin.
The fans chanted “Yes, Yes, Yes!” as Danielson celebrated with them at ringside which drove London crazy. He dove out of the ring and went to the announce table where he inexplicably slapped announcer Lance Russell knocking him off of his chair. Chaos ensued as Danielson chased London off and Dave Brown went to the aid of his longtime friend. LOW Commissioner Charlie Cox showed up as attendants helped Russell to the back and he grabbed the mic off the table and tore into London saying that he was suspended indefinitely. It was a shocking scene as the well respected Russell was blindsided in an unprovoked attack by London.
5) Jon Moxley defeated Dupae Rupa: With Lance Russell unable to return to finish up the show, Dave Brown did an admirable job calling the action as the free spirited Jon Moxley, a native of Cincinnati, OH, made his official in-ring debut taking on the tough challenge of “The Belgian Brawler” Dupae Rupa. While Rupa doesn’t have a great won-loss record in LOW he is always in the match and he gave Moxley some anxious moments here. Moxley stormed back in the end and hit the Double Arm DDT to score the pin. Brown noted that Moxley is in the crosshairs of one Exotic Adrian Street in the GWA due to cause Street to lose a recent Lumberjack Match to The French Angel.
Interview – J.J. Dillon and “Elegant” Eddie Fyne: Dave Brown conducted a special dual interview with wrestler-manager J.J. Dillon and manager “Elegant” Eddie Fyne attempting to get to the bottom of their recent troubles in the SWA. Footage was shown of Dillon scouting the men managed by Fyne, “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers and the Blonde Bombers (Chris Candido & Bobby Shane), during matches and at some points getting actively involved. Fyne got angry saying that Dillon needs to stay out of his business calling him a “washed up” guy that was “lucky” to get a job in the SWA. Dillon countered that he has done more as both a wrestler and manager than Fyne could ever dream of doing. Brown said that there was more footage to show and threw it to a grainy video shot in the parking lot of a Waffle House that appeared to show Dillon handing Rogers an envelope and the two shaking hands as if completing a deal. Fyne went crazy slamming his hands on the ring apron while Dillon smirked and said that what was just shown was how a real manager handles business. He added that with Rogers under his guidance the “Nature Boy” will rightfully reclaim his spot as the greatest star in LOW, and that he will be the next LOW World Heavyweight champion. A red faced Fyne called Dillon a “coward and a cheat” and that Rogers was “ungrateful”. He then challenged both Dillon and Rogers to get in the ring with his Blonde Bombers on the next SWA card in Oklahoma City, OK (Card #853). Dillon laughed at Fyne and said that the challenge was accepted and that Fyne and his Blonde Bombers will be taught a lesson by Dillon and the “Nature Boy”.
Fyne said that the Bombers will beat Dillon and Rogers and then he will teach Dillon a “lesson in the ring”. Dillon responded that Fyne is not a wrestler and he should “put his money where his mouth is” if he thinks he can get it done in the ring. Fyne said he had nothing to prove but that he is in a “class of his own” as both a wrestler and manager. Dillon laughed and produced a match contract which he said he purchased for time on this edition of ASW and with little time left it was up to Fyne to prove just how good he is. An angry Fyne signed the contract and challenged Dillon to get in the ring but he laughed saying that he didn’t sign the contract and the other name on it was Jim Powers! Fyne tried to run off but Dillon grabbed him by the collar and tossed him into the ring where Powers was standing leading to…
6) Jim Powers defeated Eddie Fyne: A smiling J.J. Dillon looked on from ringside as New York, NY, native Jim Powers, a well muscled 237-pounds, took apart “Elegant” Eddie Fyne in what amounted to a mismatch. Fyne was still wearing his suit as Powers battered him from pillar to post. After having some fun it was Powers blasting Fyne with a Dropkick to score the pin. Dillon entered the ring post-match and picked up the fatigued Fyne dusting off his suit vest before hurling him over the top rope to the concrete floor! He then met up with Dave Brown at the announce table to close the show and said “that is how you take out the trash!”
