Thanks for your WrestleCade 11 weekend predictions Crimson and also for posting the lineups. It will be a tough road for Power Surge but they could pull it off you never know. They have been an impressive team in my KRU territory. I am with you on wanting Great Muta to win but both guys have strong cards so it is a tough call. I won't be using Sting and Muta too much but I have to say I am really looking forward to rolling the dice on that one. Actually I am considering adding Muta to KRU full-time but I'll decide that when I shake up the rosters after the Tokyo Dome card.

2) Pepper Gomez (Pacific Coast Wrestling) defeated Jushin “Thunder” Liger (Kings Road United) (Pinfall – Mexican Cradle)
3) “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles (Kings Road United) defeated Dutch Savage (Pacific Coast Wrestling) (Pinfall – Counter Running Lariat)
4) King Kong Bundy (World of Sport) defeated Giant Baba (Kings Road United) (Pinfall – Power Drop)
5) Nick Bockwinkel (Capitol Wrestling Alliance) defeated The Mountie (with Sherri Martel, Pacific Coast Wrestling) (Submission – Figure Four Leglock)
6) “The Solid Man” William Muldoon defeated Exotic Adrian Street (with Miss Linda, World of Sport) (Pinfall – Counter Roll-Up)
7) The Destroyer (Kings Road United) defeated Ed “Strangler” Lewis (Golden Age Wrestling) (Submission – Figure Four Leglock)
8) Angelo “King Kong” Mosca (with J.J. Dillon, Capitol Wrestling Alliance) defeated Adam Cole (Kings Road United) (Submission – Sleeper Hold)Match Highlights: The opening round of the ninth annual PWI Invitational Cup Tournament featured some great matches in particular the showdown between PCW star Dutch Savage and AJ Styles, the leader of the Bullet Club in Kings Road United. Styles went in as the odds-on favorite to win but Savage ignored that and took it to him from the opening bell. Savage dominated for a good stretch and nearly scored the pin with a Running Piledriver but “Hangman” Adam Page broke that up. Page, another member of the Bullet Club faction, was decked by Savage for his actions but the interference paid off. Styles launched a counter-attack on Savage, including scoring a near fall with the Spiral Tap. Savage battled back and, after busting Styles open with a run into the guard rail, he sent him hard into the corner. That move backfired as Styles bounced out nailing Savage with a Counter Running Lariat and rolled him up for the pin. Styles, exhausted and bloody, made sure that the Bullet Club made its mark in the opening round. The Bullet Club was also represented in the main event as Adam Cole took on rugged CWA star Angelo “King Kong” Mosca who was accompanied by his manager J.J. Dillon. Cole fared well against his larger opponent but was unable to put him away. Mosca at one point blasted Cole with consecutive football tackles and delivered a loaded Big Nasty Elbow Drop for a near fall. Cole scored a near fall with a superkick to the back of the head that also rattled Dillon. Mosca would bounce back and lock on the Sleeper Hold but again BC member Page ran down to ringside. He shoved Dillon out of the way and jumped onto the ring apron but Mosca spotted him and charged with a football tackle. Page took a resulting big bump off the apron and crashed into the guard rail. Cole was still dazed as Mosca turned back around and trapped him in the Sleeper Hold again to score a submission victory. A battle of the giants featured King Kong Bundy taking on Giant Baba. It was a slow but hard-hitting bout that saw Baba survive the Avalanche at one point. Things were looking good for Baba late in the bout until Bundy managed to turn it around and get the win…Contrasting the battle of the giants’ bout was a spectacular junior heavyweight showdown between Pepper Gomez and Jushin “Thunder” Liger. The match was filled with some great near falls and ended with both men exhausted as they went down from a double clothesline in the corner. Gomez managed to recover first and quickly executed the Mexican Cradle for the pin…The rest of the first-round battles were all evenly fought especially The Destroyer vs. Ed “Strangler” Lewis. It could have gone either way but it was the masked man who advanced using his trademark Figure Four Leglock…Nick Bockwinkel, another master of the Figure Four Leglock, used that punishing hold to get past The Mountie. Sherri Martel, the manager of The Mountie, made her presence known but it wasn’t enough to help her man. The Mountie scored near falls with a piledriver and Short Choke Slam but failed to put him away…Exotic Adrian Street had some help from Miss Linda in his match with “The Solid Man” William Muldoon but like The Mountie it was not enough to win it. Muldoon used a smart counter to end the flamboyant Street’s dreams of moving on to the next round…and, the “Russian Lion” George Hackenschmidt survived the El Garfio claw hold of Pampero Firpo before putting him away with the Russian Bearhug in a short but intense battle. **********

I was pleased that Angelo Mosca got the victory over Adam Cole, plus King Kong Bundy winning has me wanting him to defeat AJ Styles and sending the Bullet Club leader packing from the PWiT. I'm not sure if this could happen, but it would be fun to see two King Kongs going at it in the finals of your tournament...

Even though 3 of my 4 favorites have already been knocked out of the tournament already, I'm totally stoked that this year end extravaganza has begun... A little disappointed that we won't be treated to an all Bullet Club final... And I was also hoping to see The Mountie and Street get past the first round. As a result, I must whole-heartedly disagree with our friend, Crimson Cross... The Phenomenal One must get past Bundy (and every one for that matter) to win the 9th Annual PWI Invitational Cup Tournament... Awesome to see Wrestlecade Weekend commencing in such glorious fashion... Looking forward to the next show... Hoping that SDR retains the Heart of Shimmer belt and moves forward to challenge Sweet Saraya for the top prize... Great work!

Thanks for the comments Crimson, Pariah and Troy. WrestleCade 11 weekend is indeed underway and although some of the audience was disappointed in the opening results it should be noted that all of the PWI Cup participants put in solid efforts win or lose. I love the idea of a battle of the "King Kongs", Crimson, that is something I never thought about. The mix of styles was definitely something notable in the opening round matches. Will Crimson or Pariah get their way via predictions in the next round? Results coming up in 3, 2, 1...

Semi-Final Round:
7) “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles (Kings Road United) defeated Pepper Gomez (Pacific Coast Wrestling) (Pinfall – Styles Clash)
8) Angelo “King Kong” Mosca (with J.J. Dillon, Capitol Wrestling Alliance) defeated “The Solid Man” William Muldoon (Golden Age Wrestling) (Submission – Sleeper Hold)
Match Highlights: The finals of the ninth annual PWI Invitational Cup Tournament at WrestleCade 11 has been set as it will be “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles of Kings Road United, the leader of the Bullet Club, taking on Angelo “King Kong” Mosca of the Capitol Wrestling Alliance. The winner of that match at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, MN (Card #1100) will be awarded the PWI Cup and be in line for a shot at the LOW World Heavyweight title. J.J. Dillon, the manager of Mosca, spoke with PWI Editor Bill Apter following the matches in St. Paul and said that while he respects Styles he knows that he is no match for “King Kong”. Dillon said that they have no fear of the Bullet Club especially since LOW Commissioner Charlie Cox ruled that any outside interference by the faction members, based on what happened on night one, would result in an immediate and indefinite suspension. Dillon warned Styles that Mosca will show no mercy towards him and that he will “make an example” out of him on the biggest stage in LOW.
Mosca made his way to the finals earlier in the night with a quarter-final round win over The Destroyer. Dillon would play a key role in the outcome of the match as he twice foiled Figure Four Leglock attempts by the masked man. The Destroyer appeared on his way to a big win late when Dillon again got involved by distracting the referee and tossing his shoe to Mosca. The former CFL star clocked The Destroyer with the weapon and then delivered the Big Nasty Elbow Drop to score the pin. That set up the semi-final round where Mosca would face “The Solid Man” William Muldoon in the main event of the evening. This turned into an epic battle, a war of attrition, with both men being busted open and surviving strong offensive attacks. The finish saw Mosca plant Muldoon with a Tombstone Piledriver variation (ch) before trapping him in the Sleeper Hold. Muldoon attempted a few escapes but Mosca overpowered him and wrenched him to the mat for a submission victory.
The road to the finals for Styles was blocked by the massive 446-pound King Kong Bundy in the quarter-final round. With the Bullet Club rendered ineffective due to the ruling by Cox, Styles had to find a way around the “Walking Condominium”. Bundy used his size to his advantage knocking Styles from pillar to post for most of the match. Just when it looked like Styles was done he avoided a bulldog attempt and nailed Bundy with a discus lariat and a variation of the Rack Bomb, basically a backcracker version, for the pin. That set up the semi-final round where Styles took on Pepper Gomez. The popular star from Mexico City, Mexico, got there by scoring an upset count out win via snake eyes over the “Russian Lion” George Hackenschmidt. Gomez and Styles had a great bout with a great finish. Styles baited Gomez out of the ring where he springboarded off the stairs decking him with a flying forearm smash. Styles then tossed Gomez back inside and executed the Styles Clash for the pin staking his claim in the finals.
Sara Del Ray is going to WrestleCade 11 where she will challenge “Sweet” Saraya Knight for the SHIMMER title. That comes because of SDR retaining the Heart of SHIMMER title in a Triple Threat Elimination Match against Candice LeRae and Madison Eagles. It was her version three defense of the belt and came in what was an incredible battle between the three stars. After Eagles had been eliminated a determined LeRae nearly pinned SDR with the Balls Plex. SDR survived and eventually caught LeRae in a Cross Arm Breaker getting the tap out submission victory…Nick Bockwinkel was livid after his quarter-final round loss to William Muldoon as he tracked down PWI Editor Bill Apter in the locker room area. Muldoon won that match in one move catching Bockwinkel with a Flying Head Mare transitioned into a cradle hold. Bockwinkel, the winner of the inaugural PWI Cup Invitational Tournament, claimed a fast count was made by the referee and said that Muldoon and the official cheated him. He vowed that he would avenge that defeat even if he should have to track down “The Solid Man” in Golden Age Wrestling.

Best of luck, Mosca... You're gonna need it... Cuz Phenomenal AJ Styles is gonna show you, JJ Dillon, his fellow Bullet Club members, KRU and the entire LOW exactly why he is the FACE that RUNS this PLACE!

Another great PWiT is one match from being complete and I'm going with Angelo Mosca for the victory over AJ Styles, but Styles is on a roll and he is just running over everyone and it'll be tough for Mosca to win...

The PWI Cup once again delivers. Glad to see Mosca make it through the tournament and might just pull out the upset but I doubt it.
Loved the angle with the fast count between Bockwinkel and Muldoon. That should be a fun program.
