I think you have the cards mixed up ... Star Warrior is the bum and Thantos is the hall of famer!

Thantos last night captured his 5th GWF Title from Wolf. I am in Game year 2090

Thantos - record 8 Middleweight title reigns, 146 card reign. Star Warrior - 1 title reign, 3 days.
Thantos > Star Warrior ... Actually now that you got me looking into it jmello, Star Warrior is the ultimate letdown.

Star Warrior has done pretty well for me too.

Yeah, Star Warrior and Thantos were about even for me.

I expected this response, for most people Thantos lives up to the hype. For me though, as I replay the early years to make a complete fed...Thantos just hasn't been the evil gamemaster. He and Star Warrior were the team to beat in GWF Classics, but now Star Warrior moved on to superstardom, while Thantos has been an upper-mid carder, sometime main-eventer.
Here's to hoping it progresses...

I had mixed results with him. He won belts but didn't seem to hold them as long for me as he did for other people. Kind of the same with Star Warrior, though. Massacre was actually a really dominant singles fighter for me in my early fed.

I replayed Classics and am replaying from the breaking of the code on with COTGonline. I'm currently up to 2100. That being said, Thantos dominated until Chaos came along. He was a 5 time GWF champion, with one mammoth reign in 88/89 or so. He defended the title 18 times in those five reigns (titles were defended less in the early days of the fed, so he held the belt for a long time but defended it less; for example, Chaos is a five time champion as well, but has 44 defenses). Thantos was also a four time wrestler of the year, and they were consecutive from 2088-2091.
By contrast, Warrior is a 7 time GWF champion (tying Omega for most title reigns) but only has 11 defenses total. Basically, he could win it but not hold it for a long period of time. He was very up and down in his prime while Thantos was consistently great. Once Chaos arrived, that was basically it for both legends - Chaos has been one of the all time greats, and I have a few years left to see how much better he can get before he leaves. Also, Alpha Force was better than both his brother and Thantos - I know he underachieved for many, but he was always great for me.

You know jmello has a point guys, we are kind of giving the traditional responses here. So how about this j ....
You may have to do what I did with Wolf. Tom always wrote Wolf as this big loner Austin type character but that never seemed to work for me. What worked for me was with Wolf more as the Arn Anderson type character. He worked awesome as Chaos' enforcer for me and his best runs with my Middleweight title come when he is Chaos' right hand man. As shocking as this may sound for you, you may have to stray from the book a little. Why not bring in the Henchmen as bodyguards for Thantos. In the next match up, they pretty much insure the title comes home to the Gamemaster and then from then out, Thantos lines up pawns against Warrior or "plays the game" by making alternate rules like submission only matches. Some times as weird or as impossible as this sounds since its cards and dice, but sometimes you need to let the character build momentum.
