So for those that get the Promoter, we're getting all colored cards with 2125 and the option to get the entire active roster of 2125 in color. NO OPTION OF B/W cards....what are your thoughts?
I think it'll be a bold, new direction and some will embrace the change, but some will not. Tom states that the cards will go up in price, and I've heard (only speculation) that the price of a color set will nearly double.
I'll miss the b/w cards...if the price is too steep, I may just stick to the online sets and maybe pick up the hard copies down the road.
What are your thoughts on this?

I agree.
Not really bothered with getting coloured cards. I have all the COTG online stuff which I like in colour. For the actual cards, I prefer black and white. My collection is up to 2011 at the moment, I had planned to buy every set in time but I won't do so if they are only available in colour and cost more.
I'm prepared to be a little disappointed in this change of direction.. but we'll see.

Yeah, I heard about this on Toms Facebook . I see why it is the natural progression for him, but for me, I dont always like the color we are given and often have a diffrent look in mind, and now that is going to be hard. When you look at everything cotg related, and add this, it's just getting too steep to keep up.Actually it's been too steep for me for awhile now.Did enough people on here wan't this?

I kinda agree with the previous posters.. I enjoy the colorizations online, but more for the comparative factor than anything.... my vision versus the official one. I think being presented with a color card right off the bat makes it harder to envision the character yourself.
What I do really like is the backgrounds... I think they really add to the cards. I'm not sure if they'd work in B & W.
I think the real decider will be cost... if they cards are twice as much (or more) and if you end up getting the online and cards together whether you want them or not, I think people will be pretty annoyed, and some could, perhaps not buy the set.
If it's a small increase (say, $15 instead of $12) I think most people that are perhaps unsure about it will at least give it a chance.

I don't like the coloring either ... I never pictured Chaos in purple and still don't. I think you need to figure way to cut costs not increase them.

This change is indeed a bold one. I think this is a great move! I'm only in 2093 right now, but I would love to have color cards. Now I have something else to look forward to down the road.
I'm a little surprised by comments indicating there is a downside to the change. - Even if the price is double, I don't think there is any doubt that the product will still be worth the cost. As for printing B/W and color, it may be neither practical nor cost effective to do both. - Promoters take characters in different directions than originally intended all the time. The color of the card does not change that.
The people who play this fantastic game are some of the most dedicated gamers I've ever seen. That's a pretty big statement for me; I've been a gamer all my life, I've been directly involved in the hobby/gaming industry for eight years, and I ran my own game store for four of those years. I can't imagine any changes Tom would make for the betterment of his game will negatively affect this bunch of die-hard players in any significant way. More importantly, the changes may draw in more new players; that's good for everyone involved. The majority of gaming products have recently gone up in cost recently, and in most cases, products have undergone improvements that up the value along with the price. Think about all the joy you get from this game. I've played a lot of games, and COTG is easily the best bang for my gaming buck... even with a price change.
I can't wait to catch up to 2125!

I love it and even with a price increase it's still cheaper than most alternatives. It's a one time fee, once a year for endless entertainment. Love it!

Well if you had a purple colored Chaos without ever seeing it in black & white, you may have felt differently. I think people need to wait and see it first before saying "I don't think it'll be very good in color." You may not like every card the way it's colored but you have to give it a chance first and not think you're not going to like it before you even see it. I don't see how Tom could reduce costs on a game that is $12 and has been for over a decade. What have you paid the exact same price for 10+ years? Truth is, Tom should have raised his prices a long time ago. I'm surprised the price hasn't been raised before now. Even if the price doubled so now it's $24 -- if you can't afford to save $2 a month, I don't know what to tell you. I can't wait to play my colored cards!!!!

I kind of think the game had to do this to bring in a younger generation of player. Like it or not, this isn't even when I started playing in 2001. People don't want a black and white product. They want a glossy full color deal.
Even if prices go up, I think this is a move for the future health of the print product.

Yeah, I don't know big. It's bells and whistles to me. I disagree about how the color will not have an effect . While I still will use my own imagination anyway I see fit, the color is going to make it harder for my minds eye to do this. I don't know how old you are and your lifes situation but a double in price can make it harder to explain to the wife, especially when you factor in GWFZ and POW. Now I might just have to be pleased with The colored GWF set. Such is progress I guess.
