World Wide Wrestling 9-2-06:
airing on local networks
Hosts are Tony Schiavone and David Crockett
Schiavone: Welcome to another exciting edition of World Wide Championship Wrestling. First things first. We have a new NWA United States Champion.
Crockett: That's right Tony. The Masked Superstar outlasted 31 other men to win the NWA United States Championship for the second time in his career. Many are calling this a huge upset but I don't know how you can. The man has held the belt before so you would have to consider him to be a favorite to win the tournament.
Schiavone: I think it had a lot to do with his loss to George South last week. That surprised a lot of people and it made them lose faith in his ability to compete at a high level. Speaking of Masked Superstar and George South. They'll be facing off in today's main event. It's a rematch of last week's heated bout.
Crockett: It should be a great match. The Masked Superstar is looking for revenge while George South is looking to shoot himself up the ladder with 2 wins in a row over a big name star.
Schiavone: The Sandman, Sabu and Danny Doring will be kicking off this week in six man tag team action...
the Sandman, Sabu and Danny Doring d. Joey Maggs, Joe Cazana and Tommy Angel w/ the Singapore Cane
NWA United States Champion Masked Superstar joins Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: I'm here with the new NWA United States Champion Masked Superstar. You're out to avenge a loss from last week. How confident are you feeling?
Superstar: Extremely confident. I feel so confident that I went to the Championship Committee earlier today and I demanded that tonight's main event be turned into a title match.
Schiavone: You mean...
Superstar: Yes, tonight's match will be for my newly won NWA United States Championship. I'm going to show everyone that last week was a fluke. I just won a huge tournament last week Schiavone and you know what people have been asking me?
Schiavone: What?
Superstar: About that stupid loss to George South. I just won a major NWA Championship. One that makes me the No. 1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship and all the media cares about is a loss to George South. I'm sick of talking about George South! I want to talk about my success. So I'm going to come out here tonight and I'm going to destroy George South. I want everyone to forget about his win last week.
Schiavone: Curt Hennig will be in singles action when we return...
Curt Hennig d. Reno Riggins w/ the Hennig Plex
Curt Hennig and Bobby Heenan join Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: I'm here with Curt Hennig. He recently decided to try his luck at being a singles wrestler. Many think it was a wise choice as you made it to the quarter-finals of the United States Title Tournament. How do you feel about your performance?
Hennig: Anything short of winning the title was unacceptable to me. I couldn't get past the Destroyer and I had that match well in hand.
Schiavone: You still won 2 matches over some tough competition. That has to count for something.
Heenan: Stay out of this Tony. You see, Curt wants one thing and one thing only. To be perfect. And the only option for him in this tournament was to bring home the gold. No personally, I was encouraged by his performance. He has only seen limited singles action and he went out there and won 2 tough matches before losing by a questionable DQ in the quarter-finals.
Hennig: Destroyer... I want another shot at you. I want to avenge this loss to you. I want to prove that I really was the superior wrestler in that match up.
Schiavone: Yukon Eric in action NEXT...
Yukon Eric d. Bill Dixon w/ the Kodiak Krunch
The Fabulous Kangaroos and Red Berry join Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: Tonight on World Championship Wrestling. The Fabulous Kangaroos will face the Midnight Express. The winners will get a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Champions Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens. Guys, this is the biggest match of your careers. Are you ready.
Berry: They were born ready for this. This is the reason we came to the NWA. We wanted to sow everyone that we are the best team in the world today. And you can only accomplish that by winning the NWA World Tag Team Championship.
Schiavone: Many thing you lack the experience to overcome such an established team like the Midnights.
Berry: People seem to confuse this version with the Eaton and Lane version. Condrey and Eaton haven't been together much longer than my team has. The experience edge isn't what everyone tries to make of it. We're equally as experienced when it comes to being teams. Tonight, we'll officially arrive at the top in the minds of NWA fans around the world.
Schiavone: Ravishing Rick Rude will be in singles action after these commercial breaks...
Rick Rude d. Joe Lightfoot w/ a swinging neckbreaker
Rick Rude and Bobby Heenan join Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: An impressive win for Rick Rude this week. He...
Rude: I don't need to be interviewed. I can handle this myself. The simple fact is I am the sexiest man in the sport of the wrestling today. And you know, Rick Rude has been looking for an attractive women to show him around the city of Atlanta. So the Brain and I decided to let the ladies interview for the job. You know what we found Tony?
Schiavone: What?
Rude: A bunch of fat toothless hicks. That's all Atlanta is. I wouldn't be caught dead with someone from this hickville.
Schiavone: When we come back Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Koko B. Ware will be in tag team action...
Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Koko B. Ware d. Pat Hutchinson and Rooster Cogburn w/ the Ghostbuster
The Armstrongs join Tony Schiavone for an interview.
Schiavone: Chris Candido and Justin Credible have challenged you to a tag team match. Do you accept.
Bob: Yes we do. But let's make a few things clear here. These claims that we've had them outnumbered is pretty selective in how it's reasoned. Yeah, Brad and I have been bailing each other out. But through all of these moments he's still had Tammy Sytch in his corner. She's not shy about getting involved.
Brad: Candido. I still want you in the ring at a future date. I want to move up that ladder to get a title shot and you're still in my way. One on one Chris. We can still do these tag matches but before it's all said and done I want you all to myself.
Schiavone: Our main event is next...
Main Event: NWA United States Title Match Masked Superstar (c) d. George South w/ the Cobra Hold
Schiavone: Join us next week for more exclusive NWA action!

World Championship Wrestling 9-2-06:
airing on WTBS
Hosts are Jim Ross and Michael Hayes
Ross: Welcome to another edition of World Championship Wrestling. We've got a huge main event tonight as the Fabulous Kangaroos will take on the Midnight Express.
Hayes: The winner of tonight's match will be considered the No. 1 Contenders for the NWA World Tag Team Titles. It's going to be a great match if you ask me.
Ross: We've also got Rikidozan taking on Nikolai Volkoff.
Hayes: This is going to be a very interesting match. Rikidozan is a very good and balanced wrestler. I don't know if he's dealt with a guy as big and mean as Nikolai Volkoff though. It's going to be skill vs. brute force. It should be an interesting clash of styles.
Ross: Also in action tonight will be Tiger Mask, Don Leo Jonathan, Nick Bockwinkel, the Crusher, the Mongols, Larry Zbyszko, the New Age Outlaws and NWA World Heavyweight Champion Bobo Brazil. That's right. Call your neighbors folks. The champ is in the building and he's planning to wrestle tonight! Now let's head to the ring as NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Tiger Mask is in action...
Tiger Mask d. Keith Eric w/ the Tiger Suplex
Buddy Rogers joins Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: Nature Boy Buddy Rogers joins us now. Last week Pepper Gomez accepted your challenge. Has a date been set for that match yet.
Rogers: Not yet. We're still working out some of the smaller details that need to be taken care of.
Ross: Why did you take such offense to whatever you accused Gomez of saying?
Rogers: Because... few if any wrestlers ever truly achieve greatness in our sport. I am one of the few that has gone out there and earned the right to call myself a great wrestler. I've bleed and I've been broke trying to achieve that level of accomplishment but the key thing is that I earned it. I've done what only one other man has done by winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship twice. So you can understand why I get a little ticked off about this. I'm tired of these punks coming into my house, winning a couple of matches and then claiming to be great. Sorry, it doesn't work like that. So Pepper Gomez, I'm giving you a chance to achieve greatness. Beat me if you can.
Ross: Our next match will feature the Crusher in singles action...
the Crusher d. Mack Jeffers w/ the Crusher Bolo
The Crusher joins Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: Next week you have a match with Mad Dog Vachon at the Greensboro Coliseum. Will you fill the fans in on how this match came to be?
Crusher: Sure thing J.R. A few weeks ago on this very show Mad Dog and his brother the Butcher took on two dear friends of mine Red Bastien and Billy Lyons. The Vachons won the match and then like they always do they have to take it a step too far. I wasn't about to sit back there and let those two maniacs end the careers of my buddies.
Hayes: Why not let Bastien and Lyons fight their own battles?
Crusher: They can do whatever they want and I'm sure they'll get their revenge soon enough. But I want Mad Dog to tangle with someone that's as tough as he is.
Ross: Do you have a gameplan for your match?
Crusher: Well, I was going to drink a lot of beer and get a nice cigar before my match. That usually gets me in the spirit to cause some damage.
Ross: Larry Zbyzsko is in singles action when we return...
Larry Zbyzsko d. Bill Dixon w/ the Piledriver
Ivan Koloff joins Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: You've got a big match in a few days with the Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant. How do you handle such a wild individual?
Koloff: It is not a huge problem. What has Jimmy Valiant accomplished as a singles wrestler. Not very much if I'm remembering correctly. I know he has not challenged for the World Championship like I have in the past. I will use my superior strength and skill as a wrestler to defeat him.
Ross: Are you sure that you're stronger than Valiant?
Koloff: I am a Russian athlete. Of course I am stronger, faster and have superior endurance. That is part of the training we receive. I am going to make Valiant regret challenging me to this match.
Ross: The Mongols will be in tag team action when we return...
the Mongols d. the Gambler and Mitch Ryder w/ the Mongolian Drop
Danny Hodge joins Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: You've got a huge match with Jushin Liger coming up in a few days. The winner will probably be receiving a shot at the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title currently around the waist of Tiger Mask. Do you think you can reverse your current trend of bad luck in title matches?
Hodge: Well, in fairness to myself. I haven't faced Tiger Mask in a one on one situation before. The main problem I was having was that Rocca just had my number while he was champion. I think if given a chance at someone else with the belt there could be a different result.
Ross: Jushin Liger and Tiger Mask have really taken the NWA by storm in a very short period of time. What's made them so successful?
Hodge: No one has pulled off the high risk style as effectively as they have. A lot of the guys here were doing it but it was highly self destructive and counter productive in most situations. With these guys it's a totally different story. It seems every risk pays off for them.
Ross: Is there a reason for that?
Hodge: I think they're just much more selective about when they take the risks. They don't just go for a high risk move whenever. Plus, they're both very balanced wrestlers. They can wrestle you on the mat, go toe to toe with you on their feet and on top of that come off the ropes with some incredible moves. That's really what makes them dangerous. They don't need the high risk offense. It's just an added bonus to them. I like my chances against Jushin Liger though. I've been training hard and I've been one of the most consistent winners in the Junior Heavyweight Division since it was created last summer. I think you'll see me finally bring home that championship.
Ross: NWA World Heavyweight Champion Bobo Brazil is in action coming up...
Bobo Brazil d. Pete Sanchez w/ the Coco Butt
NWA World Heavyweight Champion Bobo Brazil joins Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: Another impressive win for the World Heavyweight Champion. Are you ready for Harley Race in a few days?
Brazil: I've never been more ready in my life. I've spent the last year winning match after match after match. In one night I held three titles at the same time. I've also held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship for over six months now. I have a lot of momentum going into this match and I think it's going to continue.
Ross: Are you worried about interference from Bobby Heenan or other members of the Heenan Family?
Brazil: I'll warn them now. If you get in my way bad things will happen to you. I know you have to help your boy out if he's in trouble but ask yourself a simple question. Is it worth helping your boy out if it means you'll have me to deal with later. Heenan, show the world why they call you the Brain and tell your Family to keep their noses out of this. Race, you know you don't want to win the belt like that.
Ross: The New Age Outlaws will be in action next...
New Age Outlaws d. the Mulkey Brothers w/ the Standing Leg Drop
NWA United States Champion Masked Superstar and Bobby Heenan join Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: I'm here with the newly crowned NWA United States Champion Masked Superstar. You've had a huge week. You won a 32 man tournament and you made your first successful title defense against George South earlier today. How does it feel to hold gold in the NWA once again?
Superstar: It feels amazing. A whole new world has been opened up to me after winning this belt. Did you know that with this belt I can declare myself the No. 1 Contender to Bobo Brazil and the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at any time?
Ross: Yes, it's a clause that has never been called into effect before. And why would you want to abandon the belt you just won?
Superstar: Don't forget that I beat Bobo Brazil last year to win the United States Championship. I actually set his World Championship ambitions back by over a year. That's how devastating a loss it was for him. I know it's been forgotten by history to a degree but think about it. I know I can beat Brazil in a championship match situation. So why wouldn't I make a play for the belt that's around his waist? I'm not going to interfere with Harley Race's title shot but if he loses I plan to be the next challenger.
Ross: Nick Bockwinkel is in action next...
Nick Bockwinkel d. Snake Brown w/ the Figure-Four Leglock
Nick Bockwinkel and Bobby Heenan join Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: A huge main event tonight that has a lot of championship implications for you and your partner Ray Stevens. Who do you think the favorites going into the match are?
Bockwinkel: I'd have to say the Midnight Express has a distinct advantage here. I know Dennis Condrey took the place of Stan Lane so that removes the two NWA World Tag Team Title reigns. But you have to look at it like this. The Midnight Express, and Bobby Eaton in particular, have been in more big matches than we could probably name here. The Fabulous Kangaroos on the other hand, haven't had any big matches in the NWA. They're a very talented and tough team but that's not everything. Experience counts for a lot and I believe it's going to make the difference for the Midnight Express tonight.
Ross: Which team would you rather face?
Bockwinkel: I wouldn't want to face either team. It's going to take a lot to beat either team. I think the Midnight Express would make for more challenging opponents but I don't think the Fabulous Kangaroos will be a walk in the park. Either way. Ray and I plan to be fighting champions. It doesn't matter who wins tonight. We'll put the belts on the line and they can try to take them from us. That much I promise.
Ross: Don Leo Jonathan will be in action when we return...
Don Leo Jonathan d. Joe Gomez w/ a swining full nelson
Harley Race and Bobby Heenan join Jim Ross for an interview.
Ross: I'm here with Harley Race. He'll be challenging Bobo Brazil for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in a few weeks. You've taken an odd strategy to preparing for this match. Would you care to explain.
Race: I've been staying out of normal ring action to not risk myself being injured. I've just focused on conditioning and more sparring situations. Thankfully I'm at 100% health right now.
Ross: You've been really fired up for this match. I haven't seen this level of intensity in you before. What has been motivating you.
Race: Because, all the debates about who the best wrestler in the world today comes down to Bobo Brazil vs. me. I'm tired of sharing the top with someone else. To me this is the perfect chance to be the undisputed best wrestler. Not only would I beat Bobo Brazil but I would also become the first man to ever hold the NWA World Heavyweight Championship on three separate occasions. No one could argue with that.
Ross: Rikidozan will take on Nikolai Volkoff when we return...
Rikidozan d. Nikolai Volkoff by DQ
Nikolai Volkoff continues to pound away at Rikidozan in the corner. The ref gets back up and tries to pull him off but Volkoff tosses him to the outside. Security tries to come out but Volkoff fights them all off. He stomps away on Rikidozan and then goes for a piledriver. Rikidozan powers out and Volkoff slams to the floor outside of the ring. Volkoff tries to get back in but eats a fist from Rikidozan. He goes for it again but this time security manages to restrain him.
Main Event: Midnight Express d. Fabulous Kangaroos w/ the Veg-O-Matic
Ross: Join us next week to find out who the NWA World Heavyweight Champion will be. And join us for more NWA action.

NWA Main Event 9-3-06:
airing on WTBS
Hosts are Bob Caudle and Jim Cornette
Caudle: Welcome to another edition of NWA Main Event. We've got an action packed show for you today. We've got the Heavenly Bodies, Cousin Luke, the Flying Redheads and Dick Hutton and the Ortons in action.
Cornette: Before I lend my expertise I would just like to once again congratulate my team the Midnight Express. Last night they beat the Fabulous Kangaroos to become the No. 1 contenders to the NWA World Tag Team Championship. Now onto the matches today. Dick Hutton and the Ortons are probably looking to get in line for a shot at those NWA World Six Man Tag Team Championship. They think they have a good chance at winning those belts. And I say, go for what you think you'll be successful at.
Caudle: Let's head to the ring for our first match...
the Flying Redheads d. Robert Reed and Pat Hutchinson w/ the Sleeper Hold
The Flying Redheads join Bob Caudle for an interview.
Caudle: It's good to see you guys back in action after that horrible attack at the hands of the Vachons.
Lyons: Thank you.
Bastien: Thanks. I'll tell you one thing. I'm tired of dealing with this garbage in the NWA. All these teams come in here and think they can push us around because we're a smaller team. How many wins do we have to rack up here before we start to get a little respect. I tell you what we're going to do. We're going to give it straight back to the Vachons. Butcher and Mad Dog. Name the time and the place and the match and we'll take you on.
Caudle: The Heavenly Bodies when we return...
the Heavenly Bodies d. Reno Riggins and Angelo Gomez w/ the Rocket Launcher
The Armstrongs join Bob Caudle for an interview.
Caudle: You've got Chris Candido and Justin Credible in the Greensboro Coliseum coming up in a few days. Will this put an end to this feud once and for all?
Brad: Candido is still a big threat in the junior heavyweight division. I don't really see this ending anytime soon. It might be less of a focus but that's really all.
Bob: As long as they stop messing with us then we'll stop messing with them. We're going to teach them that you never mess with the Armstrong family.
Caudle: Cousin Luke next...
Cousin Luke d. Tommy Angel w/ the Hillbilly Drop
Sir. Oliver Humperdink and Ox Baker join Bob Caudle for an interview.
Caudle: Sir. Oliver Humperdink and Ox Baker. What's on your mind this week?
Humperdink: I just want to complain about the lack of matches being offered to my client here. I know he's severely hurt some opponents in the past. But those were purely accidents. You can't hold accidents against him.
Caudle: But 2 or 3 times in a couple of years. That makes me think that those weren't mere isolated incidents.
Humperdink: Injuries and accidents happen all the time. And the Sheik still gets title shots and he intentionally tries to injure people with that Fireball of his. How does that add up. He's almost blinded half a dozen guys this year alone. Ox Baker hasn't hurt someone in over a year. So how about someone gives him a slot in that World Television Title Tournament that's coming up soon?
Caudle: Dick Hutton and the Ortons up next...
Dick Hutton and the Ortons d. the Gambler, Mitch Ryder and Rooster Cogburn w/ a middle rope splash
Caudle: Join us next week for more NWA action on the Main Event.
